Billie Eilish calls out ‘pathetic’ Elon Musk for not donating vast fortune – National

Billie Eilish had some choice words for tech billionaire Elon Musk.

Earlier this month, Musk, 54, won a shareholder vote that would give the Tesla CEO stock worth US$1 trillion if he hits certain performance targets over the next decade. More than 75 per cent of voters approved the plan as shareholders gathered for the annual meeting.

Following the reports, Eilish, 23, took to her Instagram stories on Nov. 13 and referred to Musk, who is already the richest person in the world, as a “f—ing pathetic p—- b—- coward.”

The Ocean Eyes singer shared infographics originally posted by My Voice, My Choice suggesting what Musk could do to help global crises with his vast fortune.

“Elon Musk became the world’s first trillionaire here’s what he could do with it,” the first photo read.

The next slides suggested ways that Musk could help assist the world, including “end world hunger” and “choose to spend $40 billion every year to end world hunger by 2030 or provide universal safe clean water for $140 billion for the planet for the next seven years.”

The following slide said that Musk could “save all 10,443 Critically Endangered species” by paying “$1-2 billion annually to bring all of them down to Endangered status.”

The last slide suggested that Musk could pay $53.2 billion to “rebuild Gaza and the occupied West Bank according to the EU.”

“Although the UN predicts this could be upwards of $70 billion for Gaza alone. If he wanted to spread the wealth, and aid further, he could also rebuild Ukraine and Syria at a cost of $793.2 billion,” the post read.

Eilish’s criticism of Musk comes weeks after she suggested billionaires need to donate more when she accepted the music award at this year’s WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards in October.

“We’re in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark and people need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever, especially in our country,” Eilish said to an audience that included Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, as well as Star Wars creator George Lucas.

“I’d say if you have money, it would be great to use it for good things, maybe give it to some people that need it,” she added.

Late-night host Stephen Colbert introduced Eilish on stage at New York’s Museum of Modern Art by announcing that she would donate $11.5 million of the proceeds from her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour to causes dedicated to food equity, climate justice and reducing carbon pollution.

In accepting the award, the Bad Guy singer added a polite-but-direct call to others in the room, saying that a lot of people, especially in the U.S., could use some help right now.

“Love you all, but there’s a few people in here who have a lot more money than me,” she said, as the room erupted in applause. “And if you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? And no hate, but give your money away, shorties.”

bitchy | Duchess Meghan talks As Ever, Netflix, WLM & more at the Fortune summit

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

The Duchess of Sussex was a speaker at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington, DC on Tuesday. She wore a creamy ensemble from Brochu Walker, lowkey one of her favorite post-Sussexit labels. She also wore some jewelry pieces from Ukrainian brand Guzema! She wore some Guzema pieces in New York as well. I have no idea if she was gifted all of these rings and earrings, or if she received one or two gifts and decided to buy more. I do know that Harry came back from Kyiv absolutely loaded down with gifts, many of which were specifically for Meghan. Anyway, the blouse is beautiful, and Meghan just looked amazing here.

During her Q&A session, Meghan spoke at length about women’s financial independence, what her first year of As Ever taught her, and what was her headspace in 2020, when she and Harry were just starting to build their lives in California. I was really interested in a lot of business talk. She confirmed that With Love, Meghan has an eighty-person crew, which still astounds me. And yet, she says that As Ever has a ten-person team. Hm. She also spoke about the new Netflix deal, which the Sussexes signed a couple of months back. Some quotes:

Meghan’s 10-person As Ever team: “I think you have to work as a team. You’re only as solid as the rest of the people around you. And also, I want the life-work balance, if such a thing exists. I’m still going to go and chaperone the first-grade field trip and run back and try to finish the meetings. I love the creative part, which I think I’ve touched on quite a bit, and the brand is an extension of my aesthetic, but it’s more than that. The operational side is so key.”

The Sussexes’ new first-look deal with Netflix: “My husband and I were in an overall deal with Netflix then, not dissimilar to Higher Ground and the Obamas’ deal, once that had come to its term, the extension of it — which was such an incredible sign of the strength of our partnership — was now being in a first-look deal. Which is also exciting because it gives us flexibility to go to our partners first, then at the same time, shop content that might not be the right fit for Netflix but has a home somewhere else.”

Whether we’ll get a WLM Season 3: “Well, the holiday special is coming out in November. It’s a really good one. So I think looking at that format — again, it’s a year of learns — so we’re able to say, ‘Eight episodes for two seasons — it’s a lot of work. And having done Suits for seven years, I remember what goes into a production. I also recognize how much people want content in different sizes. Part of what we’re testing out now is, it’s amazing to sit and watch a show for 30 minutes, but how can I give you a recipe in two minutes? And where can I share that with you? And how that continues to grow As ever.”

[From People Magazine]

I’m including the full video of the Q&A session below. Meghan expands even further on the new Netflix deal and mentions that there’s been work behind-the-scenes developing content, and she makes it sound like there are some projects coming up in the next year. That being said, it doesn’t sound (to me) like she’s super-committed to With Love, Meghan. Her priority is clearly As Ever above all else, and she sees WLM as primarily adjacent to As Ever at this point. It will be very curious to see if there’s a Season 3. While her WLM crew is insanely large for such a small, intimate show, I also feel like they’re shooting the episodes pretty quickly. So… I don’t know.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ contestant wins $1M, biggest prize in show’s 49 years – National

A woman from Connecticut has made history as the biggest winner in Wheel of Fortune history, earning the right to buy as many vowels as she pleases.

During the Tuesday, Sept. 30 episode, Christina Derevjanik won a cash prize of US$1,035,155 on the game show, making her the fifth Wheel of Fortune contestant who has earned the million-dollar prize and the first since Ryan Seacrest took over hosting duties.

Derevjanik, a marketing manager at Con Edison, first won trips to Montana and Tokyo by solving puzzles to gain $35,155 in cash and prizes. She revealed that her boss was in the studio audience and when Seacrest asked what would happen if she were to win a million dollars, Derevjanik said, “I may be putting in my two weeks [notice] but we won’t tell her that yet.”

Then, in the bonus round, Derevjanik chose the category Living Things and solved the puzzle, which read: “PACK OF COYOTES.”

Seacrest opened the prize envelope and told Derevjanik that she won the million-dollar prize. Vanna White joined the pair, exclaiming, “I’m so happy for you!”

“Congratulations, you’re my first million-dollar winner. I have a tear in my eye,” Seacrest added.

After the episode, Seacrest confirmed to Derevjanik that she was the biggest winner in the show’s 49-year history, according to a statement from Wheel of Fortune.

“I have no words!” she responded. “I’m so happy to be part of history now.”

When asked how much she wanted to win, Derevjanik said, “I was trying to manifest this. I was hoping for confetti, but I never thought it would actually happen.”

During an interview with Good Morning America following her win, Derevjanik revealed that she didn’t put in her two weeks’ notice even though she won the big prize.

“My boss, who is also one of my good friends, she’s actually from L.A. originally, so she came with me and we joked, like, ‘Well, if you win the $1 million, I may be going home by myself in the office, might have to fill your spot,’” Derevjanik said. “So that was just a running joke, never thinking it would ever happen. But yeah, I’m going to be staying at work.”

Derevjanik also shared how she plans on spending her prize money.

“The first thing that I am spending that on is getting rid of all my student loans,” she said. “It’s something that, the last 15 years I’ve been out of college, I’ve just been like, ‘How am I ever going to pay this off?’ And now, it is just going to be such a relief and then hopefully, invest in a home in the next couple of years.”

The $1-million wedge was incorporated into Wheel of Fortune in 2008 at the beginning of Season 26. The top prize of $100,000 is replaced with $1 million if a contestant lands on the wedge, solves the puzzle and never hits a bankrupt after landing on the $1-million wedge.

The first $1-million grand prize was won by Michelle Lowenstein in October 2008, followed by Autumn Erhard in May 2013 and Sarah Manchester in September 2014, according to TV Insider. Actor Melissa Joan Hart also won the $1-million prize during an episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune in October 2021.

The Impossible Fortune review: A new dawn for The Thursday Murder Club

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Soon she’s drawn into a case involving a missing person, murders, and a fortune in bitcoin. And of course she has to bring the gang along for some help, being forced to rely on them a lot more than usual.

The real strength of the series has always been Osman’s character work. The Last Devil to Die remains the series’ emotional peak, but this entry carries that thread forward, which proves a wise decision. Elizabeth, still mourning Stephen, isn’t as sharp as usual, and for the first time the investigation doesn’t belong solely to her. Instead, the others – Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron – step into the spotlight.

Joyce shoulders much of the responsibility, rallying the group and making decisions herself, even when it puts her in danger. Ibrahim continues his curious connection with Connie the drug lord, a relationship that’s proving unexpectedly rewarding for them both.

Meanwhile, Ron takes centre stage in the B-plot, wrestling with the reveal of his daughter’s abusive marriage and his own ageing body. His struggle with fading strength and identity delivers some of the novel’s most poignant passages, though admittedly leaving the reader wishing for even more.

As ever, Osman uses the cosy crime frame to explore themes often overlooked in the genre: loneliness, loss and diminishing independence. Here, Ron’s journey of letting go of his old self and embracing a new one is especially affecting and the novel would be even stronger if readers were able to linger on these themes just a little longer.

The mystery itself is more high-tech than usual, with missing bitcoin sparking a chase that draws in ruthless players. The wealth-obsessed leave chaos and death in their wake, and the investigation has real bite. As mysteries go in The Thursday Murder Club series, it’s a fairly exciting one with an element of the cat and mouse chase.

The Impossible Fortune isn’t quite as accomplished as The Last Devil to Die, which married a gripping plot with rich character exploration. But it serves as a necessary reset: easing Elizabeth into her new life, allowing her space to grieve, and giving Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron the chance to prove they’ve learned from her.

If the first four novels were largely centred on Elizabeth’s incredible talents, this one suggests a small reset to allow the rest of the crew to show just what they’re capable of too. The future’s looking very bright for this talented bunch.

“I’m fired?!” “You’re human… Uh oh, he’s going to learn some lessons… Lionsgate has debuted another new trailer for the comedy Good Fortune, written and directed by Aziz Ansari, directing his first film after eps of “Master of None”. This is hitting theaters in October soon if anyone wants to watch. A well-meaning but rather inept angel named “Gabriel” meddles with the lives of a struggling gig worker and a wealthy VC. He takes a liking to a simple gig worker named Arj who sometimes does tasks for the very wealthy Jeff. He makes them trade places to understand money won’t solve problems, but when it does solve Arj’s problems, he loses his wings and must join them down on Earth as their roommate. There’s likely a few third act twists where it’s not all okay, but you have to watch to find out. Keanu Reeves stars as the angel Gabriel, along with Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, plus Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Stephen McKinley Henderson, too. This premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival – all of these quotes comes from reviews at the fest. So far, so good. This seems like it should be a fun comedy with this great cast making us laugh for a few hours.

Here’s the third official trailer for Aziz Ansari’s comedy Good Fortune, from Lionsgate’s YouTube:

Good Fortune Trailer

You can rewatch the teaser for Aziz Ansari’s comedy Good Fortune right here and the full trailer here.

Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) is a “budget guardian angel” named Gabriel. One day, he notices a man down on his luck (Aziz Ansari), who does odd jobs for a wealthy socialite named Jeff (Seth Rogen) who is a Venture Capitalist. Once the man falls asleep sitting in a booth at a Denny’s, he hits rock-bottom after subsequently having his car towed from their parking lot. Intervening in his plight, Gabriel tries to convince the man that being wealthy like Jeff would not solve his problems by swapping the two men’s lives. Failing at this demonstration as the man’s problems are solved by Jeff’s wealth, Gabriel loses his wings and is sent down to Earth to live among humans, while the man takes over Jeff’s body and livelihood. Gabriel then becomes roommates with the displaced Jeff, as all the good work he did as an angel begins to unravel around them.

Good Fortune is written and directed by Indian-American actor / comedian / producer / filmmaker Aziz Ansari, making his feature directorial debut with this, after directing episodes of his own series “Master of None” previously; he also wrote episodes of “Master of None” and the TV movie Dangerously Delicious, plus other comedy writing over the years. It’s produced by Aziz Ansari, Brady Fujikawa, Jon Humphrey, Anthony Katagas, David Koplan, and Alan Yang. Lionsgate will debut Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune movie in theaters nationwide starting on October 17th, 2025 later this fall. First impression? Look funny enough?

‘Wheel of Fortune’ Fans Blast Show After Contestant Misses $71,000 Win

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Fans have blasted Wheel of Fortune after a contestant lost out on $71,000 in the Bonus Round. They claim the puzzle in the round did not match up with the category, making it too hard.

Teryce Walters, from Bolingbrook, Illinois, played against Dawn McMahon, from Galena, Ohio, and Nick Oswald, from Ankeny, Iowa, on Thursday, September 18. Walters, a fourth-grade teacher, solved the second Toss Up for $2,000. McMahon, a high school science teacher, solved the first.

Walters maintained the lead with $5,600 when she solved “Global Positioning System.” She landed on the $10,000 in the Crossword puzzle. The category was “Corn,” and she solved “Bread,” “Ball,” “Dogs,” and “Flakes” for $17,800.

Walters solved the Prize Puzzle — “Beautiful Day Advisory!” — and won a trip to the Dominican Republic, putting $27,560 in her bank. She added $4,000 to her total by solving two of the three Triple Toss Ups. Oswald, a choir teacher, finally got on the board when he solved the other.

Oswald walked away with $11,600 after solving the final puzzle — “Pomp and Circumstance.” “Wow!” Oswald exclaimed. McMahon went home with $1,000. The big winner of the night was Walters with $31,560.

She chose “Event” for her category and brought her husband, Horace, with her. Walters was given R,S,T,L,N, and E.” She chose “M,D,F, and A.”

Only getting one extra letter, the puzzle looked like “_ _ _ER  _ _TA_E.” “That’s it,” host Ryan Seacrest said.

The game show contestant didn’t guess it in time, saying “Cover,” “Baker,” “Exhale.” The puzzle was revealed to be “Power Outage.” She lost out on taking home an additional $40,000, which would have given her a total of $71,560.

Fans blasted the show for having “Power Outage” in the “Events” category. “Great player, but no way to get that bonus round puzzle. I would say a power outage is more of a ‘thing’ than an ‘event’,” a YouTube user wrote.

“How is a power outage an ‘event’? That’s more of a thing than an event,” another said.

“A power outage is not an event,” a third said.

“The puzzle looked difficult to solve,” one last fan said.
