10 New Albums You Should Listen to Now: FKA twigs, Colter Wall, and More

Fans of grizzled country vignettes would be hard-pressed to find a safer pair of hands than Colter Wall, the Saskatchewan-raised singer-songwriter whose traditional approach to the song form has alienated him from the modern country establishment, but, ironically, won a loyal underground following. As the title suggests, his Little Songs follow-up, Memories and Empties, treads lightly into the big questions with a series of drinking songs and musings of plainspoken existentialism. Longtime collaborator Pat Lyons co-produces with Wall, and the Scary Prairie Boys assist.

Summer Walker: Finally Over It [LVRN/Interscope]

Summer Walker is hosting a cordial party and everyone’s invited—at the very least to balk. Finally Over It, the R&B singer’s third studio album, is split into two parts, paying homage to the crucial words of a wedding ceremony: For Better and For Worse. As she wades through the trials and tribulations of love, Walker turns to the evening’s guests of honor—Mariah the Scientist, Chris Brown, Anderson .Paak, Latto, Bryson Tiller, 21 Savage, Brent Faiyaz, Glorilla, Sexyy Red, Teddy Swims, and Monaleo—for toasts, words of advice, and helping hands to make it through.

FKA twigs’ EUSEXUA Afterglow: Stream Her New Album

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

FKA twigs has released her new album, EUSEXUA Afterglow. Stream it in full below.

Originally envisioned as a deluxe edition of EUSEXUA, twig’s highly acclaimed album released earlier this year (which topped both Consequence’s 30 Best Albums of 2025 So Far), EUSEXUA Afterglow has since evolved into its own body of work, described as a “continuation” with an entirely new tracklist.

With EUSEXUA explained as “a love letter to the techno rave scene and how it can initiate change within,” this new album “expands on the feelings that come after experiencing EUSEXUA, transmuting them into a soundtrack for the hours after the rave and extending that high into the afters,” according to a press release. “Afterglow is a record steeped in the reverence of techno, but the beats now are fractured and derelict, and playful most importantly.”

FKA Twigs reflects on “catastrophic” North American tour cancellation

by jummy84 October 13, 2025

FKA Twigs has reflected on the “catastrophic” fallout that followed the cancellation of her North American tour earlier this year.

  • READ MORE: FKA Twigs – ‘EUSEXUA’ review: a lust-fuelled insight into what it is to be human

Back in spring, Twigs took to social media to inform fans that a handful of upcoming shows in the United States and Canada were being scrapped due to visa issues, and later revealed that the “ongoing” visa problems meant the remainder of North American dates, including festival sets at Coachella and Axe Ceremonia, would be cancelled.

Reflecting on the situation, the British singer-songwriter recently told The Hollywood Reporter that scrapping the tour was financially “catastrophic” for her business, and marked “one of the most painful times” in her career.

“Just the emotional and physical and financial ramifications that fell on FKA Twigs the business was catastrophic. All I wanted to do was perform in front of my fans – go to Mexico and do Coachella and tour America. The creative on that show was brilliant. We worked so hard on it, and it all slipped through my fingers like sand.”

She went on to explain that the mistakes were not within her control and said she was “kept in the dark” about how bad the situation was because it wasn’t her remit.

“The flights and the visas and the stage advancing, none of it was done. And I don’t know how to do that because it’s not my job. But you know what? I’ve learned a lot,” she added. “Now I know about buses and freighting; how many days it takes to get from New York to Mexico in a truck; how to get through customs.”

After the tour fell through, Twigs went on to house nine of her dancers in her London home as they worked together to rework the show.

“My back was against the wall, and I came out kicking,” she said, adding: “We lived together and danced and trained and brought the show back to life. … I felt like I was weathering a storm and I turned something really horrific into something positive.”

Twigs went on to embark on a tour of Europe and the US between May and August, and is now confirmed to perform at Coachella next year.

Having brought ‘EUSEXUA’ to the capital with two headline shows at Magazine, her set scored a four-star review from NME, who said described it as a “typically artful performance”.

As for the record itself, NME gave ‘EUSEXUA’ a glowing five-star review, writing: “Twigs has successfully shown that the connection of music, movement, mind, soul and body can be converted into sound, weaving these elements into a cohesive and transcendent artistic experience.

The artist and NME Godlike Genius winner first announced the follow-up to her Mercury-nominated 2025 record ‘EUSEXUA’ back in August, with ‘EUSEXUA Afterglow’ set for release on November 14 via Atlantic/Young. You can pre-order/pre-save here.

Oklou: “viscus” [ft. FKA twigs] Track Review

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Pregnancy changed Oklou’s mind as well as her body. “I feel like my consciousness has naturally, without me even trying, gotten rid of any source of stress and anxiety,” she told FKA twigs when the two artists spoke for Highsnobiety earlier this year. On “viscus,” from the forthcoming deluxe edition of Oklou’s debut album, choke enough, the French electronic pop star-in-the-making meets one of her direct influences in the ether. At first, the track sounds right at home among the album’s filigreed miniatures, but then the tinny percussion, vaporwave synthesisers, and chamber orchestration begin to interlock at new angles, forming a glittering exoskeleton.

As she told Pitchfork in our cover story, Oklou’s creative process runs on late-night Logic sessions and long periods of isolation. “viscus” yearns to swap digital ideas for real bodies. “I get lost so deep inside me,” Oklou intones—perhaps a characteristically oblique nod to the chronic stomachaches that she and twigs had bonded over. “The body is a temple/Am I worshipping too hard?” When twigs’ voice enters, it’s from the other side of the stereo mix, beckoning us from the cloud down to the club. Oklou has said that she used to dance far more than she does today; on “viscus,” we hear those muscles start to engage again.

She will appear in conversation with Pitchfork’s Mano Sundaresan at the rescheduled launch of Pitchfork’s Oklou zine on October 16. Twigs, meanwhile, is set to release a new album, Eusexua Afterglow, on November 14.

FKA Twigs Announces ‘Eusexua Afterglow’ Release Date, Shares New Song

by jummy84 September 26, 2025

The singer released track “Cheap Hotel” on Thursday, calling her upcoming album “hungry, raw and ready to be adored”

After FKA Twigs led us into the pulsating corners of the club world with Eusexua, her follow-up album Eusexua Afterglow seeks to channel the “euphoria of movement” that lingers after leaving the party.

While her upcoming album was initially conceived as a deluxe LP to Eusexua, Afterglow will now be an entirely new body of work that serves a continuation of its predecessor and is set to arrive on Nov. 14, per a press release.

“AFTERGLOW, a visceral waterfall, as you leave the rave in search of your next wonder, give her your consent to kiss, splash and caress your naked skin,” Twigs wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday. “EUSEXUA stripped you down and her aftermath is hungry, raw and ready to be adored.”

Trending Stories

The announcement of the release date arrived alongside a new track titled “Cheap Hotel” and music video. The cinematic feature directed by Jordan Hemingway sees Twigs and her friend book a room with an unlucky fellow’s credit card as the scene evolves into a provocative hotel rendezvous sans fellow. The party takes a surreal turn as Twigs pauses the music and everyone in the room freezes while she exits to grab a drink from a vending machine outside. Yet Twigs saves the best for last when the card’s owner eventually shows up and gets an unexpected surprise waiting behind the door.

Afterglow will follow Twig’s successful tour, which kicked off in Paris in March, and festival run in support of Eusexua. A Rolling Stone review of her third studio album detailed its “techno beats, house production, and unforgiving industrial tones.” Writer Julyssa Lopez praised the “unpredictable” album for its focus on “complete freedom and impulse,” as Twigs “recharges and transforms, becoming stronger and at times even unrecognizable.”

FKA twigs Announces New Album EUSEXUA Afterglow, Shares “Cheap Hotel”: Stream

FKA twigs has announced a new album, EUSEXUA Afterglow. It’s set for release via Atlantic Records/Young Recordings on November 14th. Along with the album announcement, the artist has shared the first single, “Cheap Hotel.” Listen to it below.

Originally envisioned as a deluxe edition of EUSEXUA, FKA’s album released earlier this year (and which topped Consequence’s list of the 30 Best Albums of 2025 So Far), EUSEXUA Afterglow has since evolved into its own body of work, described as a “continuation” with an entirely new tracklist.

FKA twigs new album announcement follows a busy year of tour dates and festival appearances, as well as a new song “Perfectly,” which the artist previewed at live shows. The EUSEXUA Afterglow era officially kicked off last month in Seoul, Korea, with an intimate after-party and rave where “Cheap Hotel” was played for the first time.

“Cheap Hotel” is a shimmering and shape-shifting synth-drenched soundscape featuring FKA twigs’ airy, delicate vocals. The atmospheric track’s post-rave perspective is perfectly mirrored in the song’s surreal Jordan Hemingway-directed music video. Watch it below.

Just last month, it was revealed that FKA twigs was cast as the Virgin Mary in the upcoming horror film, The Carpenter’s Son, starring Nicolas Cage as the titular carpenter whose son turns out to be Jesus Christ.

That won’t be FKA twigs’ only foray into film, as she’s slated to star as Josephine Baker in an upcoming biopic directed by French filmmaker Maïmouna Doucouré.

Earlier this year, she settled her sexual abuse lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, Shia LaBeouf, out of court.

FKA twigs is also set appear at the already sold-out 2026 edition of the Coachella festival in Indio, CA, next April.

Earlier this week, FKA twigs dropped a teaser video with the title “SEARCHING FOR AN AFTERGLOW? 14.11.2025.” Now, she’s officially confirmed the release date for Eusexua Afterglow. Described in press materials as “an entirely new body of work that will serve as a continuation of her critically acclaimed album Eusexua,” the album is out November 14 via Atlantic/Young.

twigs has also shared the first taste of Eusexua Afterglow. Jordan Hemingway directed the extended music video for the single “Cheap Hotel,” which stars twigs alongside the Clermont Twins. Watch it below.

In July, twigs released the single “Perfectly,” which does not appear on Eusexua Afterglow. Her follow-up to 2019’s Magdalene, Eusexua was led by the singles “Eusexua,” “Perfect Stranger,” and “Drums of Death.” The album track “Childlike Things,” which featured North West, also received a video with a script penned by Jeremy O. Harris. twigs recently collaborated with Yeat on his song “Fly Nitë,” and is set to star opposite Nicolas Cage in Lofty Nathan’s forthcoming biblical horror movie The Carpenter’s Son.
