Chapterhouse, Hum, and Nothing to Headline Slide Away Festival 2026

by jummy84 September 30, 2025
written by jummy84

Slide Away, the shoegaze-focused music festival that takes place in multiple American cities, has announced its 2026 lineup. The ’80s British cult-favorites Chapterhouse will headline alongside Hum, who are playing their first shows in nearly seven years, and Nothing, who are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Tired of Tomorrow. Also slated to perform at select dates are Swirlies, Ovlov, Cloakroom, and Loveliescrushing, among others. The festival will take place in New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles in May 2026.

Chapterhouse, Hum, and Nothing will perform at all three of Slide Away’s locations. The music festival begins on May 15 and 16 at New York’s Brooklyn Paramount, with an undercard featuring Bleary Eyed, Lovesliescrushing, Manslaughter 777, She’s Green, Swirlies, and Warmachine. Next, the festival heads to Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom on May 23 with additional sets by Cloakroom, Lovesliescrushing, and Sunshy. Slide Away then descends on Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium on May 29 and 30 with Cryogeyser, Mint Field, Ovlov, Seko, and Terraplana rounding out the lineup. Presale tickets are currently on sale at the event’s website.

Chapterhouse formed in 1987 in Reading, England, and released two albums during their original run—including the heralded shoegaze classic Whirlpool—before breaking up in 1994. They briefly returned in 2008 to join Ulrich Schnauss for a cover of their song “Love Forever” at a music festival, before formally reuniting the following year for a one-off show and, in 2010, a short tour.

As for Hum, these shows mark their first live performances following the death of their drummer Bryan St. Pere in 2021. Joining Hum behind the kit will be touring member Jason Gerken of Shiner, who previously filled in for St. Pere during select shows in 2015 and 2018.

written by jummy84

Shoegaze heroes Hum and Chapterhouse will reunite for the third Slide Away festival, which is organized by Philadelphia band Nothing and will visit Brooklyn, N.Y., Chicago and Los Angeles in May 2026. It will be Hum’s first shows since 2019 and the 2021 death of drummer Bryan St. Pere, while Chapterhouse will be on stage for the first time since 2010.

Nothing will perform in all three cities on the run, which will visit Brooklyn Paramount on May 15-16, Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom on May 23 and Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium on May 29-30. Among the other acts set to appear at different stops are Bleary Eyed, Lovesliescrushing, Manslaughter 777, She’s Green, Swirlies, Warmachine, Cloakroom, Sunshy, Cryogeyser, Mint Field, Ovlov, Seko and Terraplana.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Oct. 3, but pre-sales are already underway. Click here for details.

Hum emerged from Champaign, Il., with the 1995 rock radio smash “Stars” and released three highly regarded albums before splitting in 2000. Although the band occasionally reunited for shows throughout the 2000s, they stunned fans by surprise-releasing their first album in 22 years, Inlet, during the summer of 2020. The project garnered some of the best reviews of Hum’s career.

Doechii Pauses All Things Go Festival Set to Support Lola Young

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Doechii took a moment out of her performance at All Things Go Festival in New York City on Saturday to show her support for Lola Young after the singer collapsed onstage earlier in the night.

The rapper addressed the incident at the top of her set.

“Before we get started, though, I have a lot planned for you guys, but I want to acknowledge my sister, Lola Young,” she said. “She’s an incredibly talented artist, and she wasn’t feeling well tonight, and I’m so glad that you guys were there to support her and hold her up. Let’s wish her the best, okay, everybody? Say, we love you, Lola!”

The crowd shouted back, “We love you Lola!” Doechii added, “And I want her to hear that and I want her to feel that, okay?”

Doechii went on to perform a powerful set, which was her third on the Live From The Swamp tour. She ran through her hits — including “Denial Is a River,” “Boom Bap,” and “Balloon” — while performing in the pouring rain, adding to the overall energy and feeling fitting for a swamp.

Young suffered a medical emergency while singing “Conceited” and was carried offstage by a medical team on Saturday. A few hours later, she uploaded an Instagram Story where she wrote, “For anyone who saw my set at all things go today, i am doing okay now. Thank you for all of your support Lola xxx.”

Trending Stories

On Sunday, she canceled her scheduled performance at All Things Go Festival in Washington, D.C. “I’m sorry to confirm that I won’t be playing all things go in DC today,” she wrote on Instagram. “I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted so I’m sorry to those who will be disappointed by this. I hope you’ll all give me another chance in the future. Thank you to all those who listen and care. To all the people that love to be mean, online, pls give me a day off,” she posted, signing off with a heart emoji and her name.”

Prior to collapsing, Young had spoken out about having a “tricky couple of days,” adding: “Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue, but you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here, and I wanted to be cool … and sometimes life can throw you lemons, and you just gotta make lemonade.”

The Venice Film Festival spotlighted women in cinema with Reel Women, a late-night celebration hosted by filmmaker, actress, and producer Maria Soccor at the Campari Lounge. Beginning at 10 p.m., the private event drew a mix of filmmakers, producers, actors, and industry executives in support of female-driven storytelling during one of the year’s most influential gatherings.

Soccor, known for her award-winning films and advocacy for underrepresented voices, has built her reputation as a festival presence, often moderating panels and mentoring emerging talent. With Reel Women, she expanded her mission in Venice, fostering dialogue and recognition for women shaping the film landscape.

Maria Soccor

The guest list reflected the festival’s global reach. Jared Harris attended with his wife Allegra as his new film House of Dynamite premiered at Venice to early acclaim. Other notable attendees included producer Debra Gainor of Producers Without Borders, actress Agathe Levi, producer Vicktoria Silmara Turmina of Mindgate Motion Pictures, Jojo Dye of The Members Club and Producers Without Borders, publicist Jane Owen of Jane Owen Public Relations, Ann Hafström of the Creative Lifestyle Agency, actress Tora Kim, and models Gillian Nation and Tia Goossen.

Maria Soccor

As the oldest international film festival, founded in 1932, Venice has remained a launchpad for cinema’s most significant works, ranking alongside Cannes and Berlin as one of Europe’s premier showcases. This year’s addition of Reel Women emphasized the importance of elevating female creators both in front of and behind the camera.

The evening was presented by Campari in partnership with Maria Soccor Productions Inc. and Jane Owen Public Relations. Guests enjoyed signature Campari cocktails, appetizers, and refreshments throughout the night. “Venice has long been a platform for extraordinary storytelling, and REEL WOMEN was a chance to gather in recognition of the incredible female talent shaping the industry today,” said Soccor.

Maria Soccor

By invitation only, the gathering underscored Campari and its partners’ commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and future voices in film. The Campari Lounge buzzed late into the night with the energy of collaboration and conversation that defines Venice’s most exciting week.

Eddie Vedder Covers Devo, Led Zeppelin, More at Ohana Festival: Watch

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Eddie Vedder’s annual Ohana Music Festival kicked off on Friday and the Pearl Jam frontman and the Earthlings headlined the festival’s first of three nights in Dana Point, California. It was the first time in two years he and his Earthlings bandmates — guitarists Andrew Watt, Josh Klinghoffer and Glen Hansard; Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and bassist Chris Chaney — performed together. To mark the occasion, they delivered several covers alongside Earthling and Pearl Jam songs.

They kicked it all off with a cover of Devo’s “Gut Feeling” before launching into Pearl Jam’s “Corduroy.”

During the latter part of their set, which earlier included a cover of the Who’s “I’m One,” the band jammed out Led Zeppelin’s instrumental intro of “The Song Remains the Same” before launching into Pearl Jam’s “Rearviewmirror.” Prior to performing the songs, Vedder shouted out “all the magnificent human beings” that were playing the festival. “Just legends, so many great women on the stages all day today and through the weekend,” he said before giving props to Garbage’s Shirley Manson, Madrid’s Hinds, Jessica Dobson from Deep Sea Diver, Akira Galaxy, and Kim Deal, and he also shouted out his wife and additionally Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O, who was not performing but apparently in the audience.

Following the shout-outs, Vedder shared a story about a high school administrator whose mission he said was “to ruin my life.” But music got him through. “There was this piece of music, and I’ll never forgot where I was or how loud it was, and for some reason, this piece of music — not even the words, nothing — it was like a drug,” Vedder said. “It lifted me up. It was a lift-off. I realized, you know what? Fuck that guy. And someday, he will mean nothing to you,” he said. Later, he added, “We will play this piece of music and I will let it be a reminder that music is power. Music has power. You should be responsible with the power of that music and a voice and a microphone and communicating to people that we trust and we’re grateful they can trust us … This person who had ill will for me? He didn’t win.”

They also performed a medley of the English Beat’s “Save It for Later” and Pearl Jam’s “Better Man” that featured Fitz and the Tantrums’ James King on saxophone.

Trending Stories

They closed with one of Vedder’s perennial covers, Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” featuring a bevy of guests, including Stereophonics’ Kelly Jones and saxophonist King.

Ohana Music Festival continues through Sunday, with Hozier headlining tonight and Green Day closing the event out on Sunday.

The Pearl Jam frontman has been running his own California-based festival since 2016, and was joined by his backing band, The Earthlings, to headline the festival’s first night.

It marked the first time in two years that he and his Earthlings bandmates – who include The Frames‘ Glen Hansard, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and former RHCP guitarist (and current Pearl Jam touring member) Josh Klinghoffer, Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney and guitarist Andrew Watt – have performed onstage together.

To mark the occasion, they delivered a cover-heavy set alongside some Pearl Jam classics, kicking off Friday night’s (September 26) gig with a cover of DEVO’s ‘Gut Feeling’ before launching into Pearl Jam’s ‘Corduroy’.

After storming through tracks like ‘Setting Forth’ and ‘No Ceiling’, both played for the first time in years, they covered The Who’s ‘I’m One’ and jammed to the intro of Led Zeppelin’s ‘The Song Remains the Same’ ahead of playing ‘Rearviewmirror’.

Eddie Vedder at Ohana Festival 2025 played:

‘Gut Feeling’ (DEVO cover)
‘Corduroy’ (Pearl Jam song)
‘I’ll Be Waiting’
‘Long Way’
‘The Dark’
‘Setting Forth’ (first time since 2017)
‘Far Behind’
‘No Ceiling’ (first time since 2019)
‘Brother the Cloud
‘I’m One’ (The Who cover)
‘Watch Outside’ (Mono Men cover)
‘Lukin’ (Pearl Jam song)
‘Chad-O’
‘Rose of Jericho’
‘Fallout Today’
‘Save It For Later’ (The Beat cover)
‘The Song Remains the Same’ (Led Zeppelin cover)
‘Rearviewmirror’ (Pearl Jam song)
‘Isn’t It A Pity’ (George Harrison cover)
‘Porch’
‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ (Neil Young cover)

Other covers of the night included The Beat’s ‘Save It For Later’, Mono Men’s ‘Watch Outside’ and George Harrison‘s 1970 track ‘Isn’t It A Pity’, with Vedder rounding things off with Neil Young’s ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’, a longtime favourite of Vedder’s, which saw Stereophonics’ Kelly Jones and saxophonist King join him on stage.

As for Pearl Jam, they embarked on a US tour in support of their latest album, ‘Dark Matter’. The record scored a four-star review from NME last year, with Liberty Dunworth writing: “For those longing for the charismatic songwriting that first put the band on the map over three decades ago, ‘Dark Matter’ will come as a pleasant surprise.”

“Not only does it showcase Pearl Jam reclaiming the charm that first made them a force to be reckoned with back in 1991, it comes alongside some of their most impressive musicianship yet, as well as a determination to take risks after years of playing it safe.”

Lola Young Collapses Mid-Set at All Things Go NYC Festival

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Lola Young collapsed mid-performance during her set at All Things Go’s New York festival on Saturday night. According to Billboard, the singer was five songs into her set when she suddenly fell, prompting her bandmates, team, and security to rush to her aid and escort her offstage. The remainder of her set was canceled.

Later, Young reassured fans with an Instagram update, writing: “Doing okay now. Thank you for all of your support.”

The incident came just one day after Young pulled out of a scheduled appearance at Audacy’s We Can Survive concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, citing a “sensitive matter.” In a post on Instagram, her manager Nick Shymansky explained: “Lola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe. She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career, and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.”

Before her collapse on Saturday, Young addressed the crowd directly about her decision to perform despite recent struggles. “Today I woke up and I made the decision to come here,” she told the audience. “I wanted to perform, and I didn’t want to wallow in my sadness. Sometimes life can throw you lemons and you just gotta motherfucking make lemonade… I really appreciate everyone who’s here tonight.”

Lola Young Collapses Onstage at All Things Go Festival in New York

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Lola Young collapsed mid-song and was carried offstage Saturday evening (Sept. 27) at New York City music festival All Things Go. The incident happened a day after the 24-year-old south London singer’s Friday night performance was canceled by her team “due to a sensitive matter.”

See latest videos, charts and news

Young gave a strong vocal performance but appeared flushed and emotional during her set Saturday at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, powering through four songs — “Spiders,” “F— Everyone,” “Dealer” and “Walk All Over You,” all from her new album I’m Only F—ing Myself — before falling backwards during the next.

Midway through 2023 single “Conceited,” Young paused to communicate with her keyboardist. The message did not appear to get across before she collapsed.

Young’s band, team and security rushed to surround the singer, who was down for about 30-45 seconds, and carry her offstage. Billboard reached out to Young’s representatives for an update on her condition.

The moment left the audience in shock and quiet. The crowd clapped as Young was helped offstage, and a hyperpop song played in the stadium after her exit.

On Friday, manager Nick Shymansky shared an Instagram Story to announce that Young was pulled last minute from that night’s scheduled set at Audacy’s We Can Survive concert at the Prudential Center, citing a “sensitive matter.” “Lola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe,” Shymansky wrote. “She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.”

Before collapsing on Saturday, Young addressed her return to the stage early in her set at All Things Go.

“Today I woke up and I made the decision to come here,” Young said to Saturday night’s crowd. “I wanted to be, I wanted to perform, and I didn’t want to wallow in my sadness. Sometimes life can throw you lemons and you just gotta motherf—ing make lemonade … I really appreciate everyone who’s here tonight.”
