Actor Gulshan Devaiah recently shared a story about visiting Shah Rukh Khan’s house, Mannat, after an award show. Clearing up a common misunderstanding, Gulshan said he did not gatecrash the party; he was actually invited by Shah Rukh himself.

Gulshan Devaiah Reveals He Did NOT Gatecrashed Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat

He attended the party with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and his then-wife, actress Kalki Koechlin. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Gulshan recalled, “We went in Kalki’s car. The entrance to Mannat is not what people think it is. I stayed at the party for about three hours, but I felt very uncomfortable. I kept feeling like I didn’t belong there. That feeling was a big realisation for me that I shouldn’t feel like I don’t belong. But I did.”

He described the star-studded party where he saw big names like Karan Johar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and Farhan Akhtar. “Everyone there was a big personality. Shah Rukh spoke to me very nicely, and even Gauri Khan was very sweet. I also had a long conversation with Australian actor Joel Edgerton. I kept looking at him, wondering, ‘Where have I seen you before?’”

Gulshan admitted that, despite the warm welcome, he couldn’t shake off the feeling that he didn’t fit in. “Those people are all high achievers. If I want to feel like I belong in this industry, I should feel comfortable in such situations. But for those three hours, I just wanted to leave. I don’t feel that way anymore, but back then, I did.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas Says Bollywood Felt Like a Tightly Guarded Space for Insiders

by jummy84 September 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Priyanka Chopra has spoken candidly about her early struggles in Bollywood, describing how the industry once felt like a tightly guarded space for insiders. At a recent event, the actor reflected on how her experience as an outsider shaped her journey and inspired her to create opportunities for others.
“I won a beauty pageant in the year 2000, and that kick-started me into the entertainment industry and catapulted me into it,” Priyanka said. She added, “Thus, I started working in Indian movies, particularly in Hindi and Tamil… This was in 2002. But Bollywood is kind of… was, at least, extremely closed off to people coming from outside.”
According to Priyanka, the dominance of “generational actors, directors, and producers” made it difficult for fresh talent to find their footing. “When you want to break into the industry and get cast, it wasn’t the easiest,” she explained. Adding, “But somehow, I broke through. I was ambitious. I didn’t like failing, so I was persistent and kept at it.”

Having overcome those hurdles, Priyanka said she was determined to build a space for storytellers who lacked access to big-budget projects. “I made it somehow. And when I did, it was my way of creating that space that I never had,” she noted. Adding, “I wanted to work and provide the industry with filmmakers who, maybe, didn’t have access, or writers who wouldn’t get a big-budget movie.”
She added, “I wanted to be the shoulder for entertainers around the world to be able to get the limelight that they want. I’ve been very proud of the films that we’ve been associated with and produced over time. They’ve been wonderfully received, and we have given them the limelight that they deserved.”
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has spoken about her struggles before. In a 2023 interview with Dax Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast, she admitted, “I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game, so I kind of was tired of the politics, and I said I needed a break.”

Call Me Bae recently completed a year, and Ananya Panday’s performance as Bella Chaudhary still feels fresh in the minds of audiences. Known for her candidness and fearless choices, she has steadily carved out a space that reflects the aspirations and complexities of today’s youth.

Collin D’Cunha On Casting Ananya Panday As Bella In Call Me Bae

As mentioned in the recent conversation with The Nod Magazine, Collin D’Cunha, director of Call Me Bae, opened up about why Ananya was the perfect fit for the role of Bella Chaudhary. He said, “We needed someone to embody the spirit of a younger Poo (from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…) but in 2024. And Ananya just felt like the voice of this generation.”

The statement highlights how the creative team wanted an actor who could capture the restless, unapologetic, and fun spirit that defines contemporary youth culture — a space where Ananya effortlessly belongs.

Over the years, Ananya has consistently chosen roles that break conventional molds, embracing narratives from different spectrums while staying authentic to her persona. Her approachability and willingness to experiment have earned her a dedicated fanbase, especially among younger audiences who see her as a reflection of their own experiences.

With Call Me Bae, she not only extended her acting prowess but also became a cultural touchstone — someone who represents the voice, style, and spirit of an entire generation.

We were to do a film after ‘Wasseypur’, Anurag felt script was not coming together: Manoj Bajpayee

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Mumbai, Anurag Kashyap was writing a film for Manoj Bajpayee after the success of his two-part epic “Gangs of Wasseypur” but he had to abandon the project after hitting a roadblock, says the actor, who shares a close friendship with the director that dates back to their first commercial hit “Satya” in 1998.

We were to do a film after ‘Wasseypur’, Anurag felt script was not coming together: Manoj Bajpayee

The Ramgopal Varma-directed film, which Kashyap wrote, launched Bajpayee into stardom as Bhiku Mhatre. They went on to work on “Kaun” and “Shool” but misunderstanding kept them from working together for several years.

Years later, Kashyap and Bajpayee reunited for the director’s “Gangs of Wasseypur” .

“There was too much misunderstanding, which got cleared up only after we decided to work on ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. But it was a loss not only for both of us but also for our audience because we could really create a lot of magic together. We understood each other, we were just right for each other, and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ proved it right,” Bajpayee told PTI in an interview.

But it has been thirteen years since “Wasseypur”, did they not discuss another collaboration?

“We were discussing a film very seriously. But Anurag being Anurag, he is very unpredictable, and I accept him in all of his flaws, that’s the kind of relationship I’ve with him. He realised that he is not being able to do justice to it as a writer, so we stopped,” the actor said.

Bajpayee has not lost hope about Kashyap starting the project again but wouldn’t actively follow its development.

“Let’s see, one fine morning he will get up and he will have his script. I don’t put any pressure on him at all. He is that kind of a person who is never easy with compulsions whether emotional, physical or financial.”

Now Kashyap has turned presenter for Bajpayee’s new project “Jugnuma”, which has been directed by Raam Reddy.

“He saw the film at the New York Film festival, and he was blown away by the film. And he decided to support the film, and put his name on the poster. He got a few of the exciting filmmakers, big names from South India like Vetri Maaran, Nag Ashwin, Lijo . All of them have seen the film and they have lent their names to it. This just tells you about the beauty of the film, and what a magical story ‘Jugnuma’ is,” he said.

According to Bajpayee, Kashyap single handedly mentored many independent films by putting his might behind the filmmakers.

“He is a very courageous guy. There are flip sides to him, there is always a dark phase that he goes through, but that’s his personality. I personally feel that he can’t create without chaos. So, his chaos is a positive indication to me that he is going to come up with something really fantastic.”

Asked if there was something that he disliked about Kashyap’s personality that he has not shared with his friend, Bajpayee said the filmmaker thrives in chaos, while he himself is highly organised.

“There are very few things that I dislike about him, like he is not tidy enough. He should be, but he refuses to be tidy. His place is always scattered, and he doesn’t like anyone to clean it. I’m a person who is very organised, so I find it very unsettling when I enter his house,” Bajpayee said.

“Jugnuma”, which is titled “The Fable” in English, is set to release in theatres this Friday.

Moments when Hollywood felt like a real-life casino floor – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 August 31, 2025

Casinos can be magnetic. The noise, the lights, the rush of playing for high stakes all go into creating a powerful, dreamy atmosphere. You see it over and over in movies: Hollywood produces hundreds of movies every year, many of them featuring casinos.

The sets go from bustling to deserted as the actors walk in, but the scenes are all familiar; for a while, you forget you’re watching a movie. You find yourself in there with them, sweating over chips and a possible win.

Casino Royale and learning how to play

The first thing audiences learned when Daniel Craig took a seat at a high-stakes poker table in Casino Royale wasn’t the importance of chomping on a toothpick during a hand – it was that Daniel Craig could really play poker. Every moment in those scenes had a sharp focus: the lights on the faces of players, the sound of a hand of cards being shuffled, the subtlety of Craig’s own performance.

It was a lesson on what being in that room might really feel like. The bets, the sweating, the watching and waiting – it was all there, a sort of secret movie trivia, revealing how Hollywood got it so right.

It’s popular for the same reason that live casinos are often some of the most popular establishments on review sites like AskGamblers – being able to truly immerse yourself in the casino environment, whether that be in real-life, in a game or in a movie, is something that many people crave.

Ocean’s Eleven and glamour on display

The casinos in the Ocean’s Eleven remake were built to make you want to be there. They didn’t just show audiences gambling on slot machines and blackjack tables: they showed the ins and outs, the best places to sit, the people who could play and those who were only in it for the pretty lights.

Steven Soderbergh staged each shot with a sense of style that could make the average viewer feel like they could be in the middle of that scene, dealing cards and watching stacks of chips multiply. It’s a feeling of rushing from one table to the next, of knowing a high-roller’s bluff, of smiling at security guards and walking out the door.

Rounders and the heartbeat of the game

Casino movies aren’t all big, flashy moments. Sometimes, the most important actions are small and urgent – the sound of breathing a little too loudly, the stakes seeming to rest in the flick of one card. Rounders made underground poker feel like the action was happening in every moment, like the outcome of one hand could shape everything.

Matt Damon and John Malkovich were quiet, controlled (or uncontrolled) in the head-to-head of their underground poker game. The camera focused closely on their faces, on the hands moving stacks of chips, on the creaking leather of a player shifting in their chair.

Rain Man and the nuances of risk

It’s one of the most memorable casino scenes in any movie, but it’s not about risk at all. Rain Man doesn’t follow the high rollers, the shell games or the casino dealers. It follows Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman, who, when they make their way onto the blackjack floor, do so with a calm confidence.

The scene has a stillness and quiet that is only amplified by the dealers and other players at the tables not seeming to want to watch, while also knowing they have to. The game is moving along in clinical efficiency, but even while you know the odds, you know that risk is here, too.

Uncut Gems and edge-of-your-seat gambling

Uncut Gems, from brothers Josh and Benny Safdie, only visits a casino for a short time, but it really nails it. Adam Sandler’s Howard Ratner was on the edge of everything in the movie, which extended to his gambling scenes in a house casino. Shots are tight, edges blurred by the noise of overlapping phone calls and conversations, and the game unfolds at an unstoppable pace.

It feels almost desperate, a way of punctuating the film’s themes. Gambling can be glamorous, but it can be raw and ugly too, too close to destruction for comfort.

It’s about the feel, and less about the shine

What these Hollywood casino scenes have in common is that they don’t just recreate what casinos look like; they also capture what they feel like. Movies evoke those same jangled nerves, that frenetic overload, those impossible decisions, but in scenes surrounding more than just a game.

They have stakes, and their characters have faces, histories, dreams and failures that take a seat at the blackjack table, right alongside the chips they’re playing with. They draw you in, because in that moment, it could be you in that seat, with everything on the line, not knowing how the next hand will be dealt.

All in on the drama

Gambling in a casino is already a bit cinematic, and Hollywood knows it. The high rollers, the villains, the jingles and the flashing lights – gambling scenes in movies can be both fantasy and authentic, each a bet the audience has made, in different ways. For every edge-of-your-seat scene that has viewers biting their nails, there are dozens of others meant to dazzle and distract.

The best of them make the latter feel like the former, holding the attention of the room and the audience as everything in the story hinges on the outcome of a game.

Sabrina Carpenter’s romantic partners felt ‘flattered’ by songs

by jummy84 August 29, 2025
written by jummy84

29 August 2025

Sabrina Carpenter is “pretty transparent” in her approach to relationships.

Sabrina Carpenter has opened up about her new album

The 26-year-old singer thinks her former romantic partners actually feel “pretty flattered” whenever she writes and releases a song about them.

The blonde beauty – whose new album is called Man’s Best Friend – told CBS Mornings: “I feel pretty transparent going into any of my relationships, that I write songs and I think they’re just as down for it. I think it’s also, most of the time, they’ve been pretty flattered when I … when they get a song written about them, good or bad.”

Despite this, Sabrina refuses to confirm who inspired certain songs.

The singer – who has previously dated the likes of Shawn Mendes and Barry Keoghan – said: “It’s more fun for people to picture in their head than the person I picture in my head, I think.”

Sabrina also admits that her music isn’t for everyone.

The Manchild hitmaker reflected: “You don’t have to like what I do. I think there’s this weird misconception that every artist has to check every box for everyone to like everything about them.”

Sabrina released her last album, Short n’ Sweet, in 2024, and she previously described the record as “a more emphasised version” of her real-life self.

The chart-topping star suggested that Short n’ Sweet was more authentic to herself than her earlier records.

Speaking to Vogue magazine, Sabrina explained: “Short n’ Sweet is absolutely me. There’s no, like, alter ego. But it’s definitely a more emphasised version of me.

“It’s interesting because I’m able to dress in this way where you would kind of expect to hear like a voice from the ’60s. But then, when I’m speaking to the audience, I’m just myself.”

Sabrina also claimed that her style and lyrics represent who she is now and how she feels about life.

The Espresso hitmaker – who has enjoyed huge success in recent years – explained: “I started wearing outfits that felt more like myself. And then it sort of bled into, like, I was writing these songs that felt more and more like my personality.”

Cam’ron Says His First Butt Shots Encounter Felt Like ‘Miniature Bricks’

Cam’ron is not holding back when it comes to the worst butt injection experience he has ever had.

On the August 28 episode of his REVOLT show “Talk With Flee,” the rapper and podcaster was asked to share his “worst experience” with the shots. Cam launched into a vivid story from the mid-2000s, calling it an unforgettable moment.

“This was probably about 2008, maybe 2007,” he began. “But this b***h has bricks in her a**. It’s no way you’re not going to tell me it wasn’t miniature bricks like a phone in her a**.”

He called it the “first batch” of injections. “You don’t want to be the first with anything,” Cam added. “They didn’t figure out all the kinks yet.”

Asked if he’s had any strange tummy tuck encounters, Cam joked, “I thought she had one of them waist beads… Then she kept trying to turn out all the lights.”

Have you ever had a bad butt shot experience??

I Got Engaged — But I Felt Like I Was Doing It All Wrong

by jummy84 August 26, 2025
written by jummy84

‘Keep enjoying the love bubble!,’ messaged one friend.

‘Enjoy this time post engagement, it’s so special to be in a little happy bubble,’ said another.

WhatsApps like this kept rolling in — and, while I deeply appreciated the abundance of love ebbing out of every message, each one gently tightened the subtle knot in my chest. I’d just got engaged; and while I was — and am! — thrilled to be getting married, I somehow felt like I was ‘doing the engagement’ all wrong.

I really couldn’t have been happier when my boyfriend went down on one knee a couple of weeks ago. We were on a staycation in England; the beach was empty and, despite the bad weather warning, miraculously rain-free. He picked the perfect moment and I’ve never experienced a bigger surge of joy than in those few seconds when I realized what he was doing.

We went to a pub, had some champagne and giddily FaceTimed our parents. I was walking on air; I kept looking at the ring on my finger and the words ‘married’, ‘wife’ and ‘wedding’ kept jolting through me, little paroxysms of happiness.

When we got back to our accommodations, though, I started feeling small, inexplicable twinges of anxiety. We were both exhausted and we had a celebratory dinner booked that night, so my fiancé had a nap while I ran a bath.

As I was running the water, the anxiety continued to build — and I couldn’t understand it. There was no part of me that didn’t want to be engaged to my partner; I love him more than anything and I can’t wait to be married. But the waves of uneasiness kept rolling over me; and, as I stared at the water flowing from the faucet into the bath, I suddenly felt incredibly young. It was a bizarre feeling — I was weirdly homesick for my parents’ house, low-key panicky, and overwhelmingly tired.

But I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. ‘Shouldn’t I be over the moon non-stop?’, I worried.

We had a wonderful evening that night and a lovely lunch with his parents the next day — but even though the anxiety had gone, the feeling of ‘doing it wrong’ continued. We had a five-hour drive back to London and I thought we should surely be talking about the engagement and the wedding all the way home. But we were exhausted from all the emotion, and we ended up listening to several episodes of Desert Island Discs. It was just what we needed — and I know that now — but at the time, I kept thinking: ‘Shouldn’t we be in full ‘engagement mode?’.

We got home that Sunday night and went straight to work on the Monday morning. I taught an 8 a.m. Pilates class and then did a 9-6 desk shift. We had dinner with my family that night, which was great — showing my ring to my mom was incredibly special — but I was hyper aware of the mountain of work I had to do the next day.

I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was still doing it all ‘wrong’, and that we should be celebrating more. Messages from my friends were flooding in and I was grateful for them, but every time someone mentioned the word ‘bubble’, I’d think: ‘What bubble?’. I was still unbelievably happy, but I didn’t feel cocooned in some sort of post-engagement love nest. We were both just alternating between working and scrubbing grease stains off roasting pans.

I’m not sure where I got the idea that we had to mark our engagement with a week-long (at least) celebration. No one had said we should be spending the specific seven days following the proposal commemorating the happy event; I think I’d just seen so many friends spending the days immediately following their engagements luxuriating in their new realities and I latched on to the idea of the ‘post-engagement week’ as a set period of time that would never happen again. And I couldn’t stop worrying that, by spending the week glued to my laptop, this (totally imaginary) set period of time was slowly slipping out from under my feet.

On the Wednesday, my partner went out to celebrate with some friends while I was teaching a class at home. I was done by 8:00 p.m., and spent the rest of the evening sitting at home on my own. ‘This is not right,’ I thought. It wasn’t that I thought my partner should be at home with me — I’d encouraged him to go out with his friends — but I realized I should have organized something for myself, too.

When my fiancé got home, I tried to tell him how I was feeling — that I was worried we should be doing more to mark this one-of-a-kind week — but mixed in with all the feelings of ‘doing it wrong’ were feelings of guilt. I wasn’t sure I should even be telling him any of this. I emphasised how grateful I was to him for organizing such a perfect proposal; I knew he’d put many hours into arranging the weekend and I wouldn’t have wanted anything to have been any different. I tried to make clear that I was worried I personally was letting the post-engagement haze slip through my fingers; that it wasn’t anything he was doing wrong.

I still feel a general version of this guilt now, while I’m typing this. I went to wedding after wedding when I was single and hoped beyond hope that I’d have my own wedding one day; but at the time, that possibility seemed impossibly distant. If I’d read an article like this back then, I’d have felt resentful and frustrated at having to scroll through a negative stream of consciousness from someone who didn’t know how lucky she was.

But, in a way, it was precisely because I had wanted this for so long that I was determined to make the most of it.

My partner heard me out. He (correctly) said he thought I was focusing too much on doing the engagement in one specific way, when actually it’s different for everyone — but he was more than happy to build in more celebratory time.

The next night, we lit candles at home and started writing out an initial guest list in our new ‘wedding’ notebook. Already, this felt different from an average evening at home, which was all I’d really been craving anyway. I just wanted things to feel different from the norm. The night after, we went for dinner at our favorite restaurant and splurged on champagne; and we spent the rest of the weekend celebrating with friends.

Now, it’s obvious where those wobbly feelings on the night of our engagement came from. It was the first day of my period — when I’m usually curled up at home with a heating pad feeling like the world is ending — combined with waves of adrenaline from the proposal and the alcohol we’d had earlier. I don’t do well with any one of those things at the best of times, let alone when they’re all mixed in together. It wasn’t surprising that I felt wobbly. Now, I feel silly for having stressed so much.

Ultimately, I was thrilled to be engaged and that was all that mattered; we can celebrate any time we want. We didn’t need to spend the week immediately after the proposal soaked in champagne, beaming and holding hands non-stop and talking about nothing but wedding color schemes.

But equally, I’m glad I took stock, was honest with my partner and made a point of really, truly living in the moment. We may have had to construct the scaffolding for the ‘engagement bubble’ ourselves, building it around a busy work week — but I’m grateful that we did.

After all, that post-engagement week does only happen once.

Like what you see? How about some more R29 goodness, right here?

Jesse Tyler Ferguson on Pressure He Felt With ‘Modern Family’ Gay Role

by jummy84 August 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Jesse Tyler Ferguson is getting candid about the “responsibility” he felt to the LGBTQ community to “get it right” with his portrayal of gay lawyer Mitchell Pritchett in Modern Family.

The actor, who played the character for 11 seasons from 2009 to 2020, recently shared on his Dinner’s on Me podcast that he believed there was “no way to please” everyone when it came to his role on the ABC sitcom.

“I was in the trenches fighting for marriage equality, and I felt so lucky to be part of a pop culture touchstone that was also part of that same issue,” Ferguson recalled, before later admitting he also “felt a responsibility from the [LGBTQ] community when I was given a role like the one I had on Modern Family to get it right and to do it with care and precision.”

He added, “It was tricky for me because I had to tune out that noise of a community wanting me to do it correctly and preciously and, you know, my desire to do it with nuance and levels and layers and also poignancy. I just felt like there was no way to please both camps.”

Now, 15 years after first deputing Mitchell on the small screen, Ferguson said he’s finally letting go of the pressure he once felt regarding the role.

“I’m 1756148762 in a place where I’m, as an actor, being given a role where I’m attracted to the messiness of that character,” he said. “I’m attracted to their flaws. Like, that’s what makes it interesting. And, honestly, that’s what makes the audience interested in watching me.”

Ferguson added, “No one wants to see perfect people. No one wants a sitcom or a movie where it’s like everything just happens neatly. And yet, I felt like, you know, at least in the first few seasons of Modern Family, being put on a pedestal in a way as far as like, OK, this is the gay couple that’s on network television on a huge show. They better get this right.”

Modern Family follows three different, but related, families as they face trials and tribulations in their own uniquely comedic ways. As for Ferguson’s character Mitchell in the series, he and his partner Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) raised their adopted daughter Lily (Frances Anderson).
