Riot Women star on potential season 2: ‘It doesn’t feel final’

The BBC has yet to announce what the future holds for Riot Women, Sally Wainwright’s life-affirming new drama about a group of menopausal women who form a punk rock band. But the series is certainly poised to continue following an eventful finale that leaves the door wide open.

“Oh, it definitely doesn’t feel final,” Craig told RadioTimes.com. “And I know that there’s a great will to have another season. I’m certainly not done with Kitty, so I’d like to have another go at that.”

After Kitty narrowly avoided a third stint behind bars – when the criminal damage case against her collapsed – she was free to join her bandmates on stage at the Hebden Bridge festival, which was an utter triumph. And for once in Kitty’s life, everything appeared to be on an even keel.

But just after she stepped off stage, she received a call from her dad.

Read more:

He’d done some digging and uncovered the names of the three men who raped her when she was 12, resulting in her pregnancy with Tom.

One had died, but two were still alive – one of whom, according to Kitty’s dad, was an undercover police officer who had infiltrated the gang and gone on to become a detective chief superintendent before retiring.

“I’ve got an address. What you gonna do to then, love?” he asked her. “Have you decided?”

In an earlier scene, Kitty had confided in Holly that rather than go to the police, she might take matters into her own hands. “I might want to deal with it myself,” she said.

But will she succumb to her rage and risk blowing up her own life in the process? Or will she choose herself, her son Tom, Beth, and the rest of the Riot Women?

Sadly, tradition dictates that she’ll probably do the former…

“She’s often lied to, she’s often kicked about in life, and I think that she picks herself up in her own unique way – and that is exactly how you find her [at the beginning of the series]: smashing up cars and taking her revenge in only the way that she will,” said Craig.

But after beginning the slow process of reclaiming her voice and rebuilding her life, perhaps, just perhaps, she’ll surprise everyone.

“She’ll always find a way to solve things – but they just might be in a really, really unexpected way,” she added.

“There’s absolutely a second, third, fourth chance,” said Craig of how the drama champions new beginnings, redemption, or simply showing the world who you really are. “You can reinvent yourself. You can start again.”

We’re all rooting for you, Kitty.

Riot Women airs on BBC One and iPlayer.

Top Fall 2025 Candles to Make Your Home Feel October

Still, nothing tricks us into the spirit of autumn quite like scent. The smell of spiced apples and burnt sugar sends us right into an episode of Gilmore Girls, even if we’re in shorts. That’s probably why candle sales spike in the fall. According to the National Candle Association, more than 35% of candle sales happen in the fourth quarter, with many candle brands beginning to see major increases in September.

Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna have the wittiest wishes for son Aarav on his 23rd birthday: ‘Feel like proud sidekick’

Aarav turned 23 on 15 September and his parents Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna wished him on his birthday on Instagram. Take a look.

Actor Akshay Kumar and former actor-writer Twinkle Khanna’s son Aarav turned 23 on 15 September. Celebrating his birthday, his parents penned down the sweetest and witty birthday wishes for him on Instagram, complete with Akshay calling himself a ‘sidekick’ and Twinkle comparing him to ‘air’. Take a look.

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna posted this picture with Aarav to wish him on his birthday.

Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna’s birthday wishes for Aarav

Akshay posted a selfie he took with Aarav, writing how, at his age, he was learning how to beat people up on screen. He wrote, “Happy 23rd, Aarav! When I was twenty three I was learning to beat up people on screen… it’s a strange feeling now to see you beat me everyday right from tech to fashion to arguments on the dinner table.”

He sweetly remarked about how his son has grown up now, adding, “Dekhte hi dekhte itna bada ho gaya hai yaar tu (You’ve grown up so fast)…you make me feel like a proud sidekick in my own story. Love you beta. Cheers to the best 23 years of my life because they’ve been with you.”

Twinkle also shared the same picture on her Instagram, remarking how she still wants to hold on to him, writing, “And he turns 23. Though I have an undeniable compulsion to hold on to him, it would be wise to remember that children are like the air stored in our lungs, in our custody for just a moment before the next exhalation. This may not be an entirely correct analogy because unlike breaths we can’t keep popping babies in and out constantly, but you get the point right 🙂 Here’s to the birthday boy. May he continue filling the world with his inate kindness.”

Recent work

This year, Akshay starred in Sky Force, Kesari Chapter 2, Housefull 5 and Kannappa in Telugu. He will soon star in Jolly LLB 3, which will be released in theatres on 19 September. He is also working on Bhoot Bangla and Haiwaan with Priyadarshan. Twinkle will host a talk show called Two Much with Kajol on Prime Video. It will premiere on 25 September.

Fitness coach says ‘I look and feel 10 years younger’, shares 10 anti-ageing foods he eats daily to stay youthful

Feeling youthful, energetic, and healthy isn’t just about hitting the gym or following the latest skincare routine. What you eat can have a profound impact on your body, mind, and overall vitality. Certain foods can boost energy, improve immunity, support brain health, and even slow down the effects of ageing.

Eat these 10 foods to boost energy, immunity, and fight ageing, says fitness coach. (Instagram/@danfounder)

In a September 1 Instagram post, fitness coach Dan Go reveals 10 foods that help him feel stronger, healthier, and even 10 years younger. (Also read: Fitness coach shares ‘Japanese eating rule’ Hara Hachi Bu to stay lean and shredded without ever dieting )

1. Collagen boosters

Eggs, grapefruit, pumpkin seeds, and bone broth. Collagen is “Nature’s Botox.” It keeps skin firm, joints flexible, and bones strong. After 30, your body produces less, these foods help bring the bounce back.

2. Antioxidant powerhouses

Swiss chard, pomegranates, blueberries, grapes. Free radicals are like tiny burglars that damage your cells. Antioxidants act like security guards, protecting skin, preventing wrinkles, and slowing ageing.

3. Cellular nourishers

Green tea, olive oil, beans. Your cells are like overworked employees. Without fuel, they burn out. These foods support repair, lower disease risk, and keep your body running like a well-funded startup.

4. Omega-3 rich foods

Salmon, sardines, chia seeds, walnuts. Think of them as an internal moisturizer. They calm inflammation, hydrate skin, and support heart and brain health.

5. Gut-healers

Sauerkraut, garlic, asparagus, and kimchi. Your gut controls skin, immunity, and mood. A healthy gut = glowing skin, stronger immunity, and better digestion.

Bonus tip: Hydration

“If you eat well but still feel like a raisin, you’re dehydrated. Water (with electrolytes) hydrates cells, flushes toxins, and makes skin glow. Simple, but powerful,” says Dan.

How to make these foods work:

  • Combine different food groups in each meal
  • Eat colourful fruits and veggies daily
  • Pair collagen-rich foods with vitamin C
  • Mix prebiotics + probiotics for gut health
  • Stay consistent, benefits are cumulative

I feel a great deal of responsibility

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

8 September 2025

Lorde feels “a great deal of responsibility” to her fans.

Lorde has overhauled her lifestyle

The 28-year-old star was just 16 years old when she released Pure Heroine, her debut album, back in 2013, and Lorde now admits that she struggled to cope with the pressures of fame and success during her younger years.

The Royals hitmaker – who split from music executive Justin Warren in late 2023 – told Dazed: “I feel like I had a good, healthy teen experience. I never got wasted or ran around. It wasn’t that. But I did put a lot of pressure on myself. And I very quickly understood that, being in this role, you have a duty to a lot of people.

“I really felt – and feel – a great deal of responsibility. But also, in my personal life, I was around people who were quite a lot older. I moved into this house that was like one you’d have kids in – kind of suburban, swish. It wasn’t until I got out of my relationship in 2023 that I was like, ‘Hang on, I’m 26, and I think my life could reflect that a bit more.’ Then I let a lot of new things in and found a lot of things that make me feel good.”

Lorde has overhauled her lifestyle in recent years and she’s now feeling better than she has done in years.

The chart-topping explained that she’s “an artist all the time now”.

Discussing how her lifestyle has evolved in recent years, Lorde shared: “I think my life’s got a lot more physical. I started swimming a lot at that time, and biking as well. It sounds small, but if you’re on a bike for an hour a day, it’s one more hour you’re connected to your physicality, not just staring at your phone.

“Also, I’d had this thing growing up where I was really compartmentalised – my art self and my non-art self. When I was home in New Zealand, I wasn’t an artist. And then I would become an artist when I left. I’ve completely busted that – I’m an artist all the time now.”

Want to personalise your rental place? 6 easy decor tips to make it feel like home

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Does your rental home feel bland? While lease restrictions may make certain alterations off-limits, that doesn’t mean your interiors have to feel dull. A bare home, lacking warmth, can feel oddly empty and unwelcoming, even affecting your mood. With the right touches, your decor will even make your landlord stop and stare, in a good way, maybe even pick your brain about the creative process.

The solution lies in finding creative but reversible ways to personalise your space without inflicting any damage. HT Lifestyle reached out to experts to understand how one can decorate their rented homes safely without permanently affecting the structure.

Ritika Rakhian, founder and principal architect at Urban Mistrii, recommended eight hacks that cover all the essentials, from wall treatments to creating signature corners:

1. Start with movable furniture and decor

  • Furniture is your best ally in adding personality without permanent changes.
  • Invest in versatile pieces that work across different spaces, like modular sofas, nesting tables, and multipurpose storage units.
  • Layer in area rugs to define spaces, add warmth, and hide less-than-ideal flooring.

2. Use temporary wall treatments

  • If painting isn’t allowed, peel-and-stick wallpapers and decals can transform a blank wall instantly and be removed without damage.
  • For renters wary of even that, large-scale art, framed prints, or fabric wall hangings can add colour and texture without touching the paint.

3. Lighting

  • Swap out harsh ceiling fixtures for stylish pendant lights or floor lamps (keeping the original fittings safe to reinstall before moving out).
  • Warm-toned LED bulbs can make your home feel cosier and more inviting.

4. Layer textiles for comfort

  • Soft furnishings like cushions, throws, and curtains are easy to update and move with you.
  • They add colour, texture, and personality, plus, they help soften echoey spaces common in rentals.
  • Opt for curtains that complement your furniture and can be adapted to different window sizes.

5. Bring in greenery

  • Indoor plants instantly make a space feel more lived-in and vibrant.
  • From low-maintenance succulents to statement fiddle leaf figs, greenery adds life and improves air quality without any permanent alterations.

6. Create a signature corner

  • Dedicate one area, whether it’s a reading nook, a home office desk, or a coffee corner, to reflect your personality.

While it is good to decorate your rented space, it’s important to also not go overboard and overstep the rules. Ritika cautioned, “Always review your lease before making changes, and choose updates you can easily reverse when moving out. This ensures you leave the property in its original state and keep your security deposit intact.”

Another expert weighed in on this from a layout perspective. Parul Agarwal, co-founder and director at Renascent Consultants, shared his insights on the spatial aspect of the layout, that is, how you arrange furniture and decor pieces to make your spaces more lively. He said, “Observe how you naturally move through the rooms, how the light enters at different times of the day, and which corners feel most inviting. Simple adjustments, like orienting your furniture to take advantage of natural light or clearing pathways to make movement more intuitive, can transform the experience of living in the space.”

Talking about how one can apply visual interest, he elaborated, “Introduce visual boundaries with rugs, open shelving, or even a folding screen can help carve out dedicated areas for work, dining, or relaxation.”

For a beautiful rental home, these clever hacks make your home feel warm and truly yours without breaching any rules.

Zoë Kravitz’s Chic Shoes Made Her Black Trousers Feel So 2025

by jummy84 August 26, 2025
written by jummy84

There are certain pieces we all rely on to carry us through the week. A favourite shirt, a trusty blazer and, of course, a pair of black trousers. However, their reliability can sometimes veer into predictability. That’s where styling comes in—specifically, the shoes you choose. Because, as Zoë Kravitz just proved, the right footwear has the power to make even the simplest trousers feel infinitely more directional.

Spotted in London, Kravitz wore a straightforward, leg-skimming pair of black trousers. Nothing complicated, nothing trend-driven—until you looked down. Eschewing the expected worn-in trainers or simple ballet flats, she elevated her look with glossy black stilettos featuring a peep-toe design.

After a few years out of the fashion zeitgeist, peep-toe heels are firmly back for 2025. Having stormed the runways for the past few seasons and seen many a celebrity endorsement across recent months, the toe-baring shoes are suddenly feeling fresh once more.

What makes black trousers such a reliable foundation is their ability to adapt. Much like a blank canvas, they give trend-led pieces room to shine without ever tipping into “too much.” That means you can lean into statement shoes and the overall effect still feels balanced—effortless in that very Kravitz way.

Energising her pairing with a pretty graphic tee and a Saint Laurent bag, Kravitz reminded me that the right shoe really can make all the difference.

Read on to discover my edit of the best black trousers and peep-toe shoes below.
