Britney Spears Returns to Instagram Amid Kevin Federline Drama

Britney Spears is back on Instagram after a short break from the platform.

Just days after deactivating her account, the 43-year-old pop star reappeared on Friday (Nov. 7), sharing a new photo with her 42 million followers. In the image, she poses in a white lace bra, gray and black underwear, and black boots.

“So much has happened this year, it’s crazy …,” Spears captioned the image. “I try to live within my means and the book, ‘Draw the Circle’ is an incredible perspective. Get your ballerina 🩰, circle, and own your boundaries.”

She continued, “It’s incredibly strict and somewhat of a form of prayer but with so many endless possibilities in life, it’s important to do you and keep it simple. I know there is a confusing side too. The devil is in the details but we can get to that later 😳😂🤧.”

The “Gimme More” singer’s return comes about five days after she deactivated her account. The brief disappearance coincided with the release of her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s tell-all memoir, You Thought You Knew, which includes several sensational claims about their two-year marriage.

Spears did not address her short-lived absence from Instagram, which went dark on Nov. 2 and displayed an automated message saying the “profile may have been removed.” The pop star has taken several social media breaks in recent years — briefly in 2021 and twice in 2022 — and has periodically stepped away from posting ever since.

Her latest retreat followed a series of mid-October Instagram posts in which she appeared to respond to allegations made in Federline’s book. “Its fun to tell stories at this point because this all might sound so silly but with what garbage literally is being said about me I said why not bring SUBSTANCE to the table,” she wrote.

Prior to that, Spears accused Federline of “constant gaslighting” and criticized those who “profit off my pain,” seemingly referring to her financial relationship with her ex. “No money from Britney for 5 years you trying to get paid that’s what general America is saying weird you both have moved on… your kids are adults it’s a different world now … why is HE SO ANGRY,” she wrote.

Fans have recently expressed concern about the singer’s well-being after she continued posting her trademark dance videos along with cryptic messages about her two sons — Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19 — with Federline, according to People.

In one video posted on Oct. 7, Spears appeared with bruises on her arms and bandages on both hands and her right knee. “Psss I fell down the stairs at my friend’s house… it was horrible… it snaps out now and then, not sure if it’s broken but for now it’s snapped in !!!” she explained in a TikTok post showing her injuries.

Many disagree, but I don’t blame Kevin Federline for writing a book and telling his side of the story right now. He waited until Sean and Jayden were legal adults, he waited until Britney Spears’ conservatorship was removed, and yes, he waited until Britney was no longer paying child support. About that… it’s bizarre that child support is used against Kevin, in a way it would never be used against a woman? Kevin received child support because he was the primary caregiver to their sons. Kevin and his lawyers worked within the system, they worked everything out with the court, with Britney, with Jamie Spears and the conservatorship. It was abundantly clear that Britney was incapable of caring for her sons full-time or even part-time. Speaking of, in another excerpt from K-Fed’s memoir, he discussed the breaking point in his marriage to Britney. It was when she used cocaine when she was still breastfeeding, and she got angry at Kevin when he asked her not to breastfeed after she snorted lines.

Britney Spears drank alcohol while pregnant with her two sons, and once did cocaine before trying to breastfeed the children, her ex-husband Kevin Federline claims in his new memoir. Federline, 47, reflects on his three-year marriage to Spears, 43, in the new book You Thought You Knew, which chronicles their time together and life after their split as they fought over custody of sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19. In the book, Federline says a “silent alarm” in his head was tripped for the first time when Spears started drinking while pregnant and on medication.

“That mix was… dangerous. F—ed up, honestly,” he writes. “You’re not supposed to drink when you’re on meds like that. A couple of glasses of wine for her would hit like a whole bottle because of the medication.”

Federline writes that he tried to make excuses for his then-wife, acknowledging just how difficult and how much pressure life in the spotlight brought, and accepting that alcohol and medication were her coping mechanisms.

Still, things reached a head at his album release party in October 2006 when, he claims, Spears — who’d said she would stay home to watch the boys, including a 6-week-old Jayden — showed up unannounced and started doing coke with an actress friend. Federline writes that he was “stunned” by the whole ordeal, and while he wasn’t judgmental of the decision to take drugs, he was concerned because both Preston and Jayden were nursing at the time.

“I had seen it before, her drinking and breastfeeding, and it was really upsetting because of the danger to the kids,” he writes, adding, “She could have pumped milk for Jayden so her mom had that ready.”

Federline writes that he eventually asked the pop star not to go home and nurse the boys, and she reacted angrily, throwing a drink straight into his face. He calls the incident “the proverbial final straw… Her reaction. That’s what ended us.”

In her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me, Spears writes that she “never” had a drinking problem, and that the only drug she ever took was Adderall. “I have never had any interest in hard drugs,” she wrote.

It’s more than likely that Britney was abusing drugs and alcohol in the pre-conservatorship days as a way of self-medication. The youths don’t remember, but Britney really was in bad shape back then. Maybe she wasn’t using hard drugs regularly, but Kevin is right, whatever she drank or snorted or smoked affected her differently because of the medication interactions. I can totally see how this was the breaking point. Still, Kevin wasn’t the one who filed for divorce after this moment – it was Britney filed soon after. Kevin told the Hollywood Reporter that Britney really blindsided him, because despite the cocaine incident, he felt like they could still work on their marriage.

Britney has been tweeting through Kevin’s book promotion. While her fans are cheering her on, I don’t think she’s doing herself any favors. While I’ve always been sympathetic to Britney, Sean and Jayden have every right to make decisions for themselves about what kind of relationship they want (or don’t want) with her.

‘I have had enough’: Britney Spears responds to Kevin Federline allegations – National

Britney Spears is speaking out against claims made by her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, after he publicly expressed concerns about her mental health.

Over the past week, Federline has been discussing his upcoming memoir, You Thought You Knew, and his concerns for Spears. Federline and Spears were married from 2004 to 2007 and share two sons, Sean Preston Federline, 20, and Jayden James Federline, 19.

“The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible,” Federline, 47, wrote in an excerpt of his book, viewed by The New York Times.

“It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK,” Federline continued. “From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.”

Ahead of the release of Federline’s memoir on Oct. 21 and in response to the multitude of recent news reports on its contents, Spears took to social media to call her ex-husband out for “gaslighting” and “hurting” the 43-year-old pop star with a book she described as full of “white lies.”


“The constant gaslighting from [my] ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting. I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys,” the social media post reads. “Relationships with teenage boys is [sic] complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life.”

“Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by [their] own father for me. They need to take responsibility for themselves,” the post continues. “With one son only seeing me for 45 min[utes] in the past 5 years and the other with only 4 visits in the past 5 years. I have pride too.”

Spears’ post said that from now on she will “let them know when I am available.”

“Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here,” the post adds. “I will always love them and if you really know me, you won’t pay attention to the tabloids of my mental health and drinking.”

Spears also said she had been living a “sacred and private life” since she was released from her conservatorship, which officially ended in 2021 after nearly 14 years of close supervision and monitoring.

Earlier this week, a representative for Spears released a statement after Federline alleged that the Toxic singer watched her sons sleep “with a knife in her hand.”

“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,” a representative for Spears said in response to excerpts released from the upcoming memoir.

“All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir,” her rep added of her 2023 book, The Woman in Me.

Federline told The New York Times that he hasn’t spoken to Spears “in years.” But in his memoir he reportedly writes about becoming concerned with what he describes as Spears’ “erratic behavior, which he learned about mostly secondhand from their two sons.”

“They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — ‘Oh, you’re awake?’ — with a knife in her hand,” he alleges in the excerpt provided to the outlet. “Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.

He also suggested that all the fans who put their energy and efforts into the “Free Britney” movement should “now put the same energy into the ‘Save Britney’ movement.”

“Because this is no longer about freedom. It’s about survival,” he added.

Federline told the Times that he had not discussed the contents of the memoir with Spears.

“I’ve never, ever, once, been against Britney,” he said. “I’ve only tried to help my sons have an incredible relationship with their mother. And it’s hard because when I really reflect on everything that’s happened — my kids do not know the woman that I married. And I’ve spent two decades trying to bridge that gap.”

Spears and Federline met in 2004 when he was a dancer in a Hollywood club. They married later that year, but divorced in 2006, shortly after the birth of their second son.

Though he did briefly meet Britney back when he was a backup dancer for her tour opener LFO, Kevin said didn’t really get to know the singer until they ran into each other at Joseph’s, a Hollywood nightclub, during a night out with mutual friends in April 2004.

“We talked for a little while and then hit the dance floor,” Kevin recalled. “Nothing too wild, just a little playful back and forth. Honestly, at the time, in my 25-year-old mind, I was just thinking about smashing that.”

The two then took the party to the Beverly Hills Hotel, where Kevin said he and Britney hung out by the hot tub at her private bungalow as their friends swam in the pool.

“Then, while everyone was still swimming, Britney got out of the hot tub, grabbed my arm, and led me into the bungalow,” Kevin wrote. “As soon as we got into the bungalow, Britney turned around, slipped off her underwear and started kissing me, tearing at my clothes with both hands. We stumbled toward the bed while I struggled to kick my pants off my ankles.”

He added, “What happened between us that night was purely physical. It felt like we were feeding off each other’s energy, caught in this whirlwind of chemistry and connection. Very passionate, very intense.”

In an except of Kevin Federline‘s upcoming tell-all memoir, You Thought You Know, the dancer and ex-husband of Britney Spears issued a warning regarding the pop star and their sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19. Along with an alarming claim that Spears would watch their children sleep with a knife in her hand and other ominous statements, Federline wrote: “Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change.”

Now, Spears is speaking out against his allegations, accusing Federline of “constant gaslighting” that has become “extremely hurtful and exhausting.”

“I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys. Relationships with teenage boys is complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life. It’s about survival.”
