In a November 4 Instagram post, nutritionist Shalini Sudhakar shared her advice on improving men’s health through the daily consumption of three superfoods. According to her, you should ask your father to consume roasted garlic cloves first thing in the morning on an empty stomach to reduce cholesterol and protect heart health, as roasting them in ghee activates the beneficial allicin compound.

Shalini also recommended eating soaked fenugreek (methi) seeds before each meal to control sugar levels and safeguard organs like the pancreas and liver due to their galactomannan content. She further advised fathers to consume roasted pumpkin seeds an hour before bed for better sleep, joint strength, and cancer prevention, crediting the omega-3, selenium, and lignans within the seeds.

‘When and how to consume are very important’

“If you really care about your father’s health, ensure that he is consuming these three superfoods every day. Making him listen is very difficult, but you have to do it. When to consume – and how to consume – is very important, so don’t miss out on that… take very good care of the man who carried you in his heart and on his shoulder.”

Here’s what Shalini suggested:

6-8 roasted garlic pods on an empty stomach in the early morning

“The allicin in garlic is very important to reduce the cholesterol level and protect his heart health. Roast the garlic in two to three drops of desi ghee to activate the allicin compound, making it very effective,” she said.

Soaked methi seeds

Shalini added, “He needs the galactomannan to control the sugar levels and protect his pancreas, kidneys and liver. Take three teaspoons of methi seeds and soak them overnight. Ask him to have one teaspoon of methi seeds 15 minutes before breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

Roasted pumpkin seeds

“The omega-3 and selenium will prevent any kind of joint pains and nervous weakness and strengthen the joints and the bones. Most importantly, the lignans in pumpkin seeds will prevent cancer. Dry roast pumpkin seeds and ask him to have one tablespoon 1 hour before going to bed. It will also help him sleep much better,” she concluded.

Rani Mukerji Recalls Father’s Heartbreak Over National Award Snub For Black

Rani Mukerji recently opened up about a deeply personal moment in her career—the time she didn’t win the National Award for her performance in Black(2005), despite high expectations. Speaking at an event in Delhi, the actress shared how her father, veteran filmmaker Ram Mukerji, reacted to the outcome, and how it shaped her perspective on fame and recognition.

The critically acclaimed film Black, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, featured Rani in a demanding role as Michelle, a deaf, mute, and blind woman. At just 25 years old, Rani delivered a performance that was widely praised, and many believed she was the frontrunner for the National Award for Best Actress that year.

“There was chatter that I would win,” Rani recalled. “I gave my all in Black. I was just 25 at the time, and I poured everything into that role. But when I didn’t win, that’s when my blinkers came on. I realised that even when you do your best work, things might not always go your way.”

Rani shared that the disappointment wasn’t hers alone. “I have to be honest and tell you that my father was very disappointed. My baba was heartbroken that I didn’t win. So was Sanjay, the director of the film,” she said.

Despite the letdown, Rani emphasized the importance of perspective and timing. “When things are meant to happen, they happen. The way India and my fans cheered for me—it couldn’t have been better than that.”

Black was co-written, directed, and co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Ayesha Kapur, Shernaz Patel, and Dhritiman Chatterjee. It was inspired by the life and writings of Helen Keller, focusing on the intense journey of a differently-abled woman and her teacher, who eventually develops Alzheimer’s disease. The film went on to win several National Awards, including Best Actor for Amitabh Bachchan, Best Feature Film in Hindi, and Best Costume Design. However, Rani’s exclusion from the winners’ list was widely discussed at the time.

Fast forward to 2023, Rani finally received her first National Award for Best Actress for her powerful performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. Directed by Ashima Chibber, the film is inspired by the real-life story of Sagarika Chakraborty, an Indian mother who fought against Norwegian child welfare services to reunite with her children in 2011.

Reflecting on her long journey, Rani said that awards are not always the final measure of an artist’s worth. “It’s about the connection you make with your audience and the impact your work leaves behind,” she noted.

Looking ahead, Rani is set to return to the big screen in a bold, action-packed role with Mardaani 3. Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the third instalment of the popular Mardaani franchise is scheduled to release on February 27, 2026. The film promises to showcase Rani once again as the fierce and determined cop Shivani Shivaji Roy, a character that has already earned her widespread acclaim.

Rani’s journey, marked by highs and lows, stands as a testament to her resilience and unwavering dedication to her craft. Her story not only reflects the unpredictable nature of awards and recognition but also highlights the emotional investments made by artists and their families behind the scenes.

How Parker Will Handle His Father’s Murder

by jummy84 September 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Will the team be joining Parker (Gary Cole) in finding the person responsible for his father’s (Francis X. McCarthy) murder when NCIS returns for Season 23? It certainly looks like that will be the case, but as executive producer Steven D. Binder told TV Insider as part of our Fall Preview, there’s more to it.

“The team is specifically told to make sure [Parker] doesn’t go anywhere and do anything,” Binder shared. When it comes to the choice they make, “You’ll like the answer,” he added.

Season 23 kicks off with the premiere, “Prodigal Son (Part 1),” on Tuesday, October 14, at 8/7c (the drama returns to its old time slot after airing Mondays for several seasons). According to CBS’s logline, “Reeling from his father’s murder, Parker goes to extreme lengths to hunt down the woman he holds responsible, mob boss Carla Marino [Rebecca De Mornay], jeopardizing not only his own future but the team’s.”

This is also the episode that will introduce Nancy Travis as Parker’s sister, Navy Vice Admiral Harriet Parker. We’ll have to wait to see how the siblings’ dynamic is, especially since both will be dealing with their grief, and Parker will also be busy trying to hunt down Carla.

It was in the Season 22 finale that Parker came face-to-face with his longtime nemesis, Carla, and she revealed that she blamed him for her son’s death since he got into a car accident after the agent informed him of his mom’s less-than-legal dealings. But killing him would have been too easy, and instead, Parker found his father had been murdered I the finale’s final moments. It was clear who was responsible.

Now, the photos (above and below) shows Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), McGee (Sean Murray), and Knight (Katrina Law) with Parker in his apartment, which was where he found his father. What’s on the laptop screen? Is it something that will lead them to Carla? And does Parker know about what Palmer (Brian Dietzen) found in his mother’s original birth certificate at this point yet? Plus, Torres and Knight meet with a man in the diner.

What are your predictions for the Season 23 premiere? Check out the photos below, then let us know in the comments section.

Sam Claflin plays Joel Lazarus, a forensic psychologist investigating his father’s suicide, only to become entangled in a slew of cold case murders, in the first look images for Harlan Coben’s Lazarus for Amazon’s Prime Video released on Wednesday.

The limited series, which sees the team behind Netflix’s hit Fool Me Once reunite, is based on an original idea from prolific author Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst, who wrote the drama together. The series is Coben’s second at Prime Video after his first, Shelter, was canceled. In addition to Fool Me Once, Coben and Brocklehurst previously worked together on Stay Close and The Stranger at Netflix.

All six episodes of Harlan Coben’s Lazarus will debut Oct. 22 on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. Bill Nighy plays Dr. Jonathan Lazarus, father of Claflin’s character, Lazarus, who begins to have disturbing experiences that cannot be explained as he quickly becomes ensnared in solving a series of cold-case murders.

That forces Lazarus to grapple with the mystery of his father’s death and his sister’s murder 25 years earlier. Additional cast includes Alexandra Roach as Jenna Lazarus, David Fynn as Seth McGovern, Karla Crome as Bella Catton, and Kate Ashfield as Detective Alison Brown.
