Inside Heidiween! The Frick’s Fancy Bash! An Elizabeth Taylor Bonanza! The Most Exclusive Celebrity Halloween Parties of 2025

Arguably one of the most coveted (and charitable) nights of Halloween is none other than Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project (NYRP) annual Hulaween—a spellbinding affair held in support of the city’s green spaces.

Last night marked NYRP’s 30th year of keeping New York green. The nonprofit, founded by Midler, partners with communities to restore parks, revive gardens, plant trees, and grow a more vibrant New York for everyone. Fittingly, the theme matched the mission: “Hulaween: New York, New York, a Helluva Town!”

As one guest dressed as Eloise quipped, “There is no one definition of New York.” The crowd proved her right—there were subway stops, Chrysler buildings, pizza rats, and one partygoer who earned a costume award for embodying every New Yorker’s quiet fear: death by falling A/C unit.

Midler herself leaned into her roots, arriving in denim overalls and glittering eye makeup as a playful nod to her showbiz sparkle and hands-on gardening spirit. Accepting the Catalyst Award, she joked, “I’m no longer a spring chicken, no longer a summer chicken, I’m not even a fall chicken. I’m an endangered chicken at this point!” Echoing the mission that has guided NYRP since 1995, she told the crowd, “Clean, green, open space is a right, not a privilege.”

Hosted by Busy Philipps, the evening sparkled with quintessential NY moments. Guests were treated to a surprise musical tribute from Billy Crystal alongside Marc Shaiman, Ben Platt’s rendition of “On Broadway,” and Andy Cohen (costumed as fellow Andy, Andy Warhol), honored with the Joan Kors Green Champion Award by designer Michael Kors in a taxi driver getup.

As the festivities wound down, guests were gently reminded to move along or risk being booted from Casa Cipriani’s storied halls. The City that Never Sleeps truly lived up to its name. – Lauren Sanchez

PinkPantheress: Fancy Some More? Album Review

Fancy Some More?’s remixes are split into two discs, one featuring vocalists and the other producers. (The release also includes a third disc, featuring the original tape.) Scanning the guest list is, I imagine, what it’s like to flick through Pink’s iPod. On the vocalist side, you have K-pop stars (SEVENTEEN and Yves from LOONA) alt-pop it girls (Oklou, Rachel Chinouriri, Ravyn Lenae, Bladee), and centrist stars with underground clout (Zara Larsson, JADE, Kylie Minogue, JT, Sugababes). The producer disc mostly features artists who bore clear influence on Fancy That (Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, Joe Goddard) alongside upstart locals (Nia Archives, Leod, Kilimanjaro) and also Kaytranada, seemingly kept on retainer by the major labels for any remixing needs. The project is rounded out by a coterie of Brazilians—Anitta, DJ Caio Prince, Adame DJ, and Mochakk—which, with any luck, signals the sound of future PinkPantheress music.

The vast majority of these remixes totally bang, and many of them serve the function of wish fulfillment. Have you (like me) ever wanted “Illegal” to feel even faster and more disorienting? Nia Archives, London’s premiere young junglist, makes the whole song feel like a 90-degree drop on a rollercoaster. Have you been scouring SoundCloud for a mashup of “Stateside” with its spiritual forebear, Kylie Minogue’s “Slow”? Here’s la grand dame herself whispering “Are you ready for me?” and eliciting goosebumps when she sings “Never met an Aussie girl, you say.” The sky seems to crack wide open when the Sugababes drop into “Nice to Know You” and provide a hi-fi rendition of the hook Pink sampled on the original version of the track.

The most effective remixes flip the original songs on their head: Basement Jaxx turn “Tonight,” one of the least dance-forward tracks on Fancy That, into a throbbing, shimmery big-room banger, its five-minute runtime practically begging for a 12” version. Meanwhile, Caio Prince and Adame traverse baile funk, Miami bass, and fight-ready big beat on their flip of the previously lightweight “Stars.” Oklou drags the Basement Jaxx sample on “Girl Like Me” as far out of its original context as she can take it, making the liberated refrain of “Let it all go” sound less like dancefloor hedonism and more like a desperate attempt to get over a lingering heartbreak.

With the exception of Kaytranada’s “Girl Like Me”—which sounds roughly the same as every other Kaytranada remix in recent memory—it feels like all these tracks were made with a level of care uncommon for a major label remix album, which so often feel easy cash grabs or attempts to prolong an album cycle that’s running out of steam. Fancy Some More? feels like a rowdy, well-earned celebration and reaffirms the main ideas PinkPantheress has gestured toward for much of the year: Heavy reference doesn’t inherently go hand-in-hand with a lack of ingenuity. Successive generations of dance producers don’t have to be at war with each other. Pop music, done right, can feel like the key to a world that’s smarter, more free, and way more fun.

PinkPantheress’ ‘Fancy Some More’ Mixtape: Stream It Now

PinkPantheress packs her Fancy That mixtape with more star power on the remix edition Fancy Some More, which she dropped on Friday (Oct. 10) via Warner Records UK.

The 22-track project features multiple remixes of the nine songs originally on Fancy That by Anitta, SEVENTEEN, JADE, JT, Sugababes, Kylie Minogue, Zara Larsson, Ravyn Lenae, Kaytranada and many more.

“With this remix project, Fancy some more, I wanted to explore how the songs can live in different worlds while still holding onto the emotion of the original,” the British singer-songwriter-producer said in a press release. “Hearing other artists reimagine it has been so inspiring. Each remix brings a new energy and texture, while still keeping the heart of the track intact. It’s been so exciting to see Fancy That take on these new, international lives & global perspectives.”

PinkPantheress originally released Fancy That in May. Her sophomore mixtape was included in Billboard‘s 50 best albums of 2025 (so far) staff list and the 2025 Mercury Prize shortlist, which recognizes outstanding albums by U.K. and Irish artists from the past year. The Mercury Prize is awarded next Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle. Fancy That reached No. 4 on Top Dance Albums and No. 72 on the Billboard 200. The third single “Illegal,” which samples Underworld’s “Dark & Long (Dark Train),” became PinkPantheress’ second entry on the Billboard Hot 100, following her and Ice Spice’s top 10 hit “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2,” peaking at No. 96.

PinkPantheress Announces Fancy That Remix Project With Oklou, Bladee, and More

by jummy84 October 7, 2025

Yesterday (October 6), PinkPantheress posted a teaser video to X. In the clip, the British musician’s animated alter-ego asks if she’d “fancy some more,” then scrawls the names of a whopping 23 artists on a whiteboard, among them Oklou, Bladee, Kylie Minogue, Kaytranada, and Jade. Now, those acts have been revealed as the featured guests on Fancy Some More?, a 22-track add-on to her recent Fancy That mixtape that’s out this Friday, October 10. Check out the tracklist and cover art below.

Fancy Some More? consists of two full-album remixes, one of which appears to lean more towards pop—with appearances from Anitta, Seventeen, Oklou, Jade, Yves, JT, Sugababes, Kylie Minogue, Bladee, Zara Larsson, Ravyn Lenae, and Rachel Chinouriri—while the other boasts a slew of dance and electronic acts—Nia Archives, Kaytranada, Basement Jaxx, Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, DJ Caio Prince, Mochakk, Loukeman, Leod, Sega Bodega, Groove Armada, and Kilimanjaro.

PinkPantheress shared Fancy That in May. She’s since teamed up with Danny L Harle on his new song “Starlight,” and, later this month, will kick off her An Evening With PinkPantheress tour of North America.
