“Follow your heart, feel the love, and find your home with The Family McMullen.” Warner Bros revealed the official trailer for The Family McMullen, a new movie made by Edward Burns. It’s the long-awaited follow-up to the first film that Edward Burns ever directed called The Brothers McMullen (in 1995), about three Irish Catholic brothers from Long Island. As with the original,  The Family McMullen is an ensemble comedy both written and directed by Edward Burns – which tracks the romantic entanglements of a now 50-something Barry McMullen (Burns) and his 20-something kids, as well as his brother Patrick and widowed sister-in-law Molly, who are also facing unexpected romantic hurdles. It’s getting a one-day-only release in theaters this month, before it’s available to watch at home anytime. 🎄 The Family McMullen stars Connie Britton, Edward Burns, & Michael McGlone reprising their roles in the first film, along with Tracee Ellis Ross, Halston Sage, Juliana Canfield, Pico Alexander, and Brain d’Arcy James. This looks much more cheesier (about the kids this time!) and more like a Hallmark Channel movie than the original.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Edward Burns’ film The Family McMullen, direct from YouTube:

Kajol, Rani Mukerji & Ayan Mukerji’s Family Tree: From Grandfather Kishore Kumar To Brother-In-Law Ashutosh Gowarikar

Kajol & Rani Mukerji’s Family Tree: One Of The Biggest Clans In Bollywood ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Kajol and Rani Mukerji’s family tree is no less than a cinematic saga. Their family clan has been a part of this industry for over four generations. From filmmakers to producers, from actors to storytellers, this family has everyone. Let’s take a look at their elaborate family tree from the beginning.

1st Generation: Rattan Bai

Kajol’s great-grandmother, Rattan Bai, was the first female figure who made her presence felt in the industry when women appearing in films were looked down upon.

2nd Generation: Shobhana Samarth

Rattan Bai’s daughter, Shobhana Samarth and Kajol’s grandmother, was also an actress. She married Kumarsen Samarth and they had three daughters: Nutan, Tanuja, Chatura, and son, Jaideep. Shobhana was not only an actress but also a producer and director.

Sashadhar Mukherjee

Sashadhar Mukherjee was a film producer who established Filmistan Studio. He married Sati Davi, sister of the Ganguly brothers, Anoop Kumar, Ashok Kumar and Kishore Kumar. Sati and Sashi had six children, Rono Mukherjee, Joy, Deb, Shomu, Subir Mukherjee and Shibani Maulik.

3rd Generations: Nutan, Tanuja, Shomu, Joy and Ram

Nutan and Tanuja were not only sisters but also two established actresses in Bollywood. While Nutan married Rajnish Bahl and gave birth to Mohnish who is also a prominent actor in the Indian film industry, Tanuja married Shomu Mukherjee and has two daughters, Kajol and Tanishaa.

Deb Mukherjee, Shomu’s brother was also a filmmaker and his son, Ayan Mukerji also established himself in the industry as a director. He is well know for his movies like Wake Up Sid and Brahmastra.

Ram Mukherjee, brother of Joy and Shyam Mukherjee, was a film director, producer and screenwriter. He married Krishna Mukherjee, a playback singer and popular Bengali cinema actress Deboshri Roy’s sister. They have two children, Rani and Raja Mukherjee.

4th Generations: Kajol, Rani, Mohnish, Ayan

Like Kajol and Rani are first cousins, their fathers were also first cousins. They both have stepped into the industry and made their paths in Bollywood with much hard work and dedication.

While Kajol married Ajay Devgn and expanded their film background even more, Rani got married into the Chopra family by tying the knot with Aditya Chopra, Yash Raj Chopra’s son. Mohnish has also established his career in the industry and did some versatile roles in different movies. Ayan is also a well-known director.

Mukherjee-Samarth family tree is not only massive but also illustrious. Their Durga Puja celebration in Mumbai is as iconic as it can get. Although Ayan lost his father recently, they continued with their Puja festivities keeping Deb Mukherjee’s spirit in them.

Why Sally Struthers Really Left ‘All In The Family’

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

For seven seasons, Sally Struthers played Archie and Edith Bunker’s daughter Gloria Stivic on the groundbreaking series All in the Family. The role made her famous, but for Struthers, it also became confining. By the late 1970s, she was ready to move on and prove that she was more than just Gloria.

According to MeTV, Struthers told the Chicago Tribune that she was “itching to leave” the series by 1978. “I was young, energetic. I figured I could go off and do anything,” she said.

Rani wore a white saree with a black and red floral border, whereas Kajol donned a traditional white saree with a red border and a blouse of the same colour. Eric Dane and his family focusing on professional support amid his health battle

Eric Dane and his family are focusing on professional support as they navigate life following his ALS diagnosis.

Eric Dane and his family are focusing on professional support as they navigate life following his ALS diagnosis

The actor, 52, revealed in April that he had been diagnosed with ALS, also known as motor neurone disease, in a statement to People, and his wife Rebecca Gayheart has now said at Step Up’s 2025 Inspiration Awards she and the couple’s two daughters – Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13 – are learning to manage their “new normal”.

She added at the event: “We have some professional therapists who are helping us, and we’re just trying to have some hope and do it with dignity, grace and love.

“I mean, it’s heartbreaking. My girls are really suffering, and we’re just trying to get through it. It’s a tough time.”

Eric said in a statement announcing his diagnosis: “I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”

In June, during an interview with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America, he reflected on the reality of living with the illness, adding: “I wake up every day, and I’m immediately reminded that this is happening. It’s not a dream.”

Rebecca Gayheart, who married Eric in 2004, filed for divorce in 2018 but the couple later reconciled. She told People: “I don’t think I’m at a place yet where I can pull out a positive nugget. I’m not there yet. I mean, we’re definitely dealing with something that has brought us all together, and Eric will always be my family, whether we’re married or not, or living in the same house or not, but yeah, we are closer, but we don’t like the reason why.

“It’s a horrible disease, and I wish that there was a cure. I hope they find one soon, because it is just so sad.”

Earlier this month, Eric announced a partnership with the nonprofit I Am ALS, a day after missing an appearance at the 2025 Emmy awards where he was scheduled to present with fellow Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams.

In a video message, he said: “I’m Eric, an actor, a father and now a person living with ALS. For over a century, ALS has been incurable, and we’re done accepting the status quo. We need the fastest path to a cure, and that’s why I partnered with I Am ALS on the Push for Progress. Our goal: a billion dollars over the next three years.”

He added: “Together, we’ll renew the landmark law Act for ALS, give promising treatments to thousands of patients like me, and finally, finally, push towards ending this disease.”

The legislation, signed in 2021 and due to expire in 2026, authorised the Department of Health and Human Services to fund treatments and directed the Food and Drug Administration to dedicate resources toward a cure.

3 Members of TLC’s Putman Family Killed in Car Accident

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

The Putman family is in mourning.

Isabella Putman, whose family of 26 all lived under one roof in the 2017 TLC series Meet the Putmans, announced that three members of the family—Bill “Papa” Putman, Neenee Putman and Megan Putman—died in a car crash.

“I come to you with a heavy heart asking for your prayers,” Isabelle wrote in a statement shared to Instagram Sept. 27. “Our family was in a tragic car accident and we lost Papa, Neenee, and Aunt Megan. They have gone home to be with the Lord.”

The reality TV alum also revealed that five other family members sustained injuries in the crash and are still recovering.

“Please keep Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia in your prayers as they remain in the hospital,” Isabelle continued. “We are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them.”

Amid their grief, Isabelle reflected on how the entire family—who later chronicled their lives together in their Growing Up Putman spinoff series on YouTube—is leaning on their faith in God.

3 Members of Meet the Putmans Family Killed in Car Accident

by jummy84 September 27, 2025

The Putmans, the family made famous on the TLC reality show Meet the Putmans, asked for prayers in an Instagram post on Sunday as they announced that three members of the family had died in a car crash and several others were in the hospital.

“Our family was in a tragic car accident, and we lost Papa, Neenee, and Aunt Megan,” Isabelle, a member of the family, wrote in a letter shared on the @growingupputman Instagram account. “They have gone home to be with the Lord.”

TMZ reports Papa and Neenee were nicknames for Bill and Barb Putman, the heads of the family.

Five other members of the family were injured, Isabelle said. “Please keep Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia in your prayers as they remain in the hospital,” Isabelle wrote. “We are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them.”

The crash happened Friday in Ellington Township, Michigan, as the driver of a semi truck failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a Jeep with the eight Putmans inside, according to WNEM. As the five injured Putmans were taken to the hospital via ambulance — with some in critical condition — the driver of the semi was arrested, according to the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office.

In their time of heartbreak, the surviving family members — including Billy, Jen, Brandon, Kacie, Jamie, Blair, Abby, Emma, Addison, Bella, Mercy, Gabby, Mya, Nova, Jonah, Eli, Solomon, Uriah, Samson, Luke, and Anna — are relying on their faith, Isabelle said.

“We ask for your continued prayers for Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia as they recover, and for our whole family as we walk through this deep loss,” Isabelle added.

TLC’s Meet the Putmans aired its only season in 2017. The show followed Bill and Barb, who’d been married for 32 years at the time, as they lived with their children and grandchildren.

“This 25-person family lives under one roof, shares one bathroom, pools all of their finances, and helps raise all of the kids as one family unit,” TLC said in a press release. “Each episode will not only detail the little things that test this large household, but also highlight those extreme ‘for better or worse’ moments they experience as both couples and a family.”

Following the TLC show, the Putmans returned in a 2021 web series titled Growing Up Putman, People reports.

Family Documentary ‘Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost’ Official Trailer

by Alex Billington
September 25, 2025
Source: YouTube

“They’re not superstars – they’re just performers who are married with kids and trying to do the best with both worlds.” Apple TV has revealed the first official trailer for a documentary film titled Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost, directed by actor / filmmaker Ben Stiller telling the story of his own family. This is an extension of his previous doc series also titled “Stiller & Meara”, taking a closer look at his parents – comedy icons Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. One of the most personal films about Ben Stiller and his family. The doc is premiering at the 2025 New York Film Festival and will then hit theaters and streaming on Apple TV+ in October this fall. NYFF explains: “After Anne & Jerry passed away in 2015 and 2020, respectively, Stiller dug into the vast treasure trove of recordings, footage, letters, and ephemera with which they documented their personal & professional lives. These extraordinary archives are a foundation of this immensely moving – and, of course, very funny – documentary. Stiller & Meara is above all a true multigenerational family project, made with the collaboration of Stiller’s sister, Amy Stiller; his wife, Christine Taylor Stiller; and children Ella and Quinlin Stiller.” This looks great! A must see for Stiller fans and doc lovers out there.

Here’s the trailer (+ poster) for Ben Stiller’s doc film Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost, from YouTube:

Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost is directed by acclaimed actor / comedian / filmmaker Ben Stiller, director of the films Reality Bites, The Cable Guy, Zoolander 1 & 2, Tropic Thunder, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty previously, plus series “Escape at Dannemora” and “Stiller & Meara”. ‘House of Guinness’ Review: Netflix’s 19th-Century Family Saga

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Netflix’s House of Guinness, the new 19th-century drama from Peaky Blinders and A Thousand Blows creator Steven Knight, knows the value of a big, splashy moment.

Its characters, the most central of whom are the scions of Ireland’s most famous ale-brewing family, do not simply go down the stairs when they can glide in slow-motion to the moody strains of an Irish rock soundtrack. They do not walk around building demolitions when they can sail through as explosions go off in the background, action-movie-style. They make impassioned declarations of love or fury, and trade metaphor-laden speeches; occasionally, when words fall short, they set literal fires.

House of Guinness

The Bottom Line

Considerably less dark and bitter than its namesake ale.

Airdate: Thursday, Sep. 25 (Netflix)
Cast: Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, James Norton, Emily Fairn, Fionn O’Shea, Niamh McCormack, Jack Gleeson, Danielle Galligan, Ann Skelly, Seamus O’Hara
Creator: Steven Knight

What all of it amounts to, once the fizz has settled, is somehow both more and less substance than you might expect. If House of Guinness knows how to grab a viewer’s attention, it’s less concerned with shading in the nuances that might lend the series emotional heft to go with its epic sprawl and electric energy. But when a series is this good at keeping the good times flowing, it’s hard not to get a bit swept up in its veritable rivers of drama.

The story begins, as so many others have as of late, with a powerful and wealthy clan facing an apparent succession crisis. The year is 1868 and Benjamin Guinness, the richest man in the country, has just died, leaving his four squabbling adult children to try and carry on the family’s legacy.

As the eldest son, Arthur (Anthony Boyle, who seems so at home in the 19th century it’s a wonder he’s actually from the 21st) would seem Daddy’s most obvious heir — if not for his utter disinterest in the family trade and his outright desperation to escape the expectations of the family name. It’s pragmatic-to-a-fault youngest brother Edward (Louis Partridge) who possesses both the ambition and the aptitude to run the company, but not the assumption of primogeniture.

Middle son Benjamin (Fionn O’Shea) is the black sheep of the bunch, battling alcoholism, gambling addiction and a general lack of self-esteem. Rounding out the mourning quartet is their sister Anne (Emily Fairn), physically sickly, emotionally brittle and unequivocally devout. Both Anne and Benjamin are quickly disabused of any illusion that their father might have taken them seriously as contributors to the business, let alone potential successors.

As if the infighting weren’t enough, the Guinnesses are also beset by outside forces from seemingly every side of the cultural spectrum. The Irish independence-supporting Fenians, represented primarily by hotheaded oaf Paddy (Seamus O’Hara) and his more strategically minded sister Ellen (Niamh McCormack), loathe the family’s conservative unionist policies. Religious forces, spearheaded by an unpleasant Guinness uncle (Michael Colgan), decry the immorality of the booze they’re selling.

Tensions come to a head in the opening minutes of the Tom Shankland-directed premiere, as protesters from every camp converge upon the old man’s funeral procession, and hammer-wielding company men prepare to fight back. “The name’s Guinness. Of course there’ll be fucking trouble,” smirks brewery foreman and fixer Rafferty, whose theatrical tendencies are not so much performed by James Norton as savored like a juicy steak. Of course, he’s right.

But the fact that nothing truly disturbing happens in that first scene might be the first hint that House of Guinness is willing to pull its punches, for better and for worse. Succession this is not, at least when it comes to the brutally unflattering and emotionally punishing portrayal of the one-percent. These upper-crust elites are ones we’re meant, at the end of the day, to sympathize with and root for.

The show is by no means blind to the dark and sweeping social forces shaping the times, up to and including the extreme inequality that allows the Guinnesses to get ice shipped in special from Greenland while cholera-stricken villagers just a mile down the road struggle to find clean water. Nor is it entirely worshipful of the Guinnesses. Even as the clan get more involved in charity, or soften their previously firm unionist stance, the series makes a point of showing that they’re motivated as much by the promise of good PR as they are by a sincere desire to effect positive change.

Still, the show stops short of wrestling with either the characters’ complicity in injustice or their evolving feelings in any real detail. In contrast to the recent wave of shows and films painting the super-wealthy as greedy, cruel or plain stupid, the Guinnesses we follow are only ever truly guilty of obliviousness. Likewise, early hints at darker character flaws — like that Edward might become drunk on power or that Rafferty might have a sadistic streak — tend to dissipate as the characters grow or deepen.

In truth, a damning portrait of the family was probably never in the cards, considering the series counts among its executive producers actual Guinness descendant Ivana Lowell. And the choice to soften the characters as the eight-episode season goes on has the benefit of making them easy to feel for as each gets increasingly caught up in tragic love affairs. (I’ll leave the specifics for you to discover, but suffice it to say that a lawyer handling the family’s scandals jokes, “Infidelity. Sodomy. Lost love and random acts of violence. A more typical Dublin family would be hard to find.”)

But here, too, the choice to prioritize high-drama plot beats over incremental evolution yields mixed results. On one hand, the no-fat approach keeps the pacing brisk, and allows for thrilling shit-just-got-real moments like the introduction of Olivia (a dazzling Danielle Galligan), Anthony’s appropriately aristocratic but shockingly no-bullshit future wife.

On the other, it keeps us at an arm’s length. Benjamin and Anne, particularly, become characters who resurface only to show us how much they’ve changed offscreen, without allowing us to see how or why they’ve transformed so much. And more than one load-bearing romance centers around characters who seem inexorably drawn together mainly because the plot demands it, not because we understand precisely what it is that either party finds so beguiling in the other.

That the drama nevertheless makes it work more often than not — that I found myself “aw”-ing over Anthony’s heartbreak or tutting at Benjamin’s self-destructive foibles or cheering at a bold but staggeringly ill-advised choice made by Olivia late in the season — is a testament, again, to the series understanding the power of a big moment. As firmly as its characters believe in God or commerce or Irish independence, House of Guinness places its faith in the notion that a kiss or a speech or a punch, delivered with enough style and passion, can sell just about anything. More often than not, it’s right.
