ITV Targets Extra $46M In Cost Savings Amid “Softening Economy”

by jummy84 November 6, 2025

UK network ITV is planning to save another £35M ($45.7M) in the coming quarter, despite posting steady year-to-date group revenues.

In a Q3 trading update, the broadcaster and content group said it had identified the additional temporary savings” in its Media & Entertainment division, which houses its linear networks and streamer ITVX.

“UK macro data is showing a softening economy, with increased uncertainty in the lead up to the UK Budget which is impacting the wider advertising market, and we are adjusting our costs to match this current reduction in demand,” said ITV CEO Carolyn McCall in a trading update today. “We do not anticipate these temporary savings to impact our ability to deliver our strategic plan.”

The plan is to move £20M of programming will be moved into 2026 and make an additional £15M of non-content savings, primarily through “reduced discretionary spend” and “reduced marketing spend aligned with the adjusted content slate.” The move means ITV’s total content budget for 2025 is adjusted to around £1.21B.

Overall total year-to-date group revenues for the nine months to end-September at ITV were £2.8B, up 2% from £2.74B a year ago. A strong performance at production and sales division ITV Studios was hailed for offsetting an anticipated drop of 9% in total advertising revenue.

For the full year, ITV said it was “on track to deliver good revenue growth in ITV Studios at a margin of 13-15%,” while warning the “economic outlook in the UK remains uncertain with widespread caution being exercised across business sectors ahead of the Budget in November.”

ITV Studios revenue came in at £1.35B, up 11% on the £1.22B in 2024, with external revenue up 20% thanks to demand for programs from streamers. During the quarter, ITV Studios launched the likes of The Reluctant Traveler Season 3 for Apple TV and Love Island Games for Peacock.

However, internal revenues dropped 7% due to the absence of shows such as Saturday Night Takeaway, sports production and phasing of productions.

The M&E networks arm saw total revenue fall 5% to £1.44B, though digital advertising revenue was up 15% as ITVX viewing grew total streamed hours by 14%. Overall digital revenues were up 13%.

ITV said its overall performance for the nine months to the end of September had been “better than market expectations” thanks to its long-term More Than TV strategy. Full-year revenue and margin outlooks remain unchanged.

“ITV has delivered a good performance in a tough advertising market,” said McCall. “Both our businesses are performing well, reflecting the significant transformation we have delivered. Our strategic initiatives continue to progress well, and we remain confident in delivering good growth in ITV Studios revenue and digital revenue for the full year. This is supported by laser-focused strategic cost management and underpinned by our resilient and highly cash generative linear broadcast business.”

Now, due to huge demand, he had added more UK shows to the itinerary. These include extra dates at The O2 in London on March 10 and 11, and another show at the Co-op Live in Manchester on March 17.

These add onto the two previously announced shows at the London arena taking place on March 6 and 7, and to the already confirmed Manchester date on March 16.

Tickets for all dates, including newly shared shows, go on general sale at 9am local time on Thursday (October 23). Visit here to buy tickets and find an updated list of shows below.

It follows on from his back-to-back Number One albums, ‘Psychodrama’, which was released in 2019, and ‘We’re All Alone In This Together’, which came out in 2021.

The latter featured James Blake and Stormzy, and was given five stars in a review from NME.

“As illustrated throughout the stunning ‘Psychodrama’, Dave has always been the one to rap traditionally, using hip-hop for what it was intended to do: give a voice to the voiceless,” it read. “He has always been able to show the inner-workings of many young Londoners in a clean and universal way that can perhaps help the whole world to better understand the Black British experience, especially that of Black men.

“Always ready to tell the hard truths for those who can’t, Dave has proved again that he’s a voice of a generation, sitting pretty atop his peers when it comes to making unforgettable London rap classics.”

That record debuted at the top spot in the charts with over 74,000 chart sales – making it the highest opening week of 2021, and the chart’s biggest opening week since November 2019.

Extra Trailer for ‘Avatar: The Way of the Water’ Re-Release This Year

“The way of water has no beginning… and no end…” Time to go back again before the story continues. 20th Century Studios has debuted another new 45-second trailer to promote the upcoming re-release of James Cameron’s Avatar 2 – also known as Avatar: The Way of the Water. This massive, action-packed sci-fi sequel first hit theaters in December 2022 a few years ago. Right now they’re gearing up to launch Avatar 3 – known as Avatar: Fire and Ash (watch the teaser) – in theaters this December. The only spot left on the calendar for a week-long IMAX re-release is in early October this fall. A chance to revisit this second movie before the third one arrives. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was started, Jake must work with Neytiri and another new army of the Na’vi race to protect their planet. They take to the waters, where even more fascinating creatures are found. The Way of Water cast features Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Kate Winslet, Sigourney Weaver, Bailey Bass, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, CCH Pounder, and Joel David Moore. I still prefer the first Avatar movie over this one, but at least we got to meet Payakan in Avatar 2. I’m ready for the next sequel, and of course it’s still exciting to rewatch these first two before the big release.

Here’s the new 2025 re-release trailer for James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water, via YouTube:

Avatar: The Way of Water Poster

You can rewatch the teaser trailer for James Cameron’s Avatar 2 right here, and the gorgeous first trailer.

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water launches the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. All of this against the backdrop of the breathtaking seascapes of Pandora, where audiences are introduced to new Na’vi cultures and a range of exotic sea creatures. Avatar 2: The Way of Water is directed by iconic Canadian filmmaker James Cameron, director of the movies Piranha II: The Spawning, The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, True Lies, Titanic, and Avatar previously. The screenplay is co-written by James Cameron & Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (of the Planet of the Apes sequels), from a story by Cameron, Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman, Shane Salerno. Produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau. The epic sci-fi sequel originally opened in theaters in December 2022. 20th Century Studios + Disney are re-releasing Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water in theaters again starting October 3rd, 2025 this fall before the next movie lands in December. Follow for updates @officialavatar. Excited to return to Pandora?

Lizzo Calls Out Airlines Charging ‘Bigger Bodied’ People For Extra Seats, Shares Support For Weight Loss Dr*gs & Tells Body Shamers ‘STFU’

Lizzo has a message about minding your own body.

In a recent TikTok video, the Grammy-winning singer spoke out against airlines charging plus-size passengers for extra seats, calling the move a “fascism indicator.” Her comment comes just days after Southwest Airlines announced they would be implementing a policy requiring larger passengers to purchase additional seating.

Lizzo, who’s been a longtime advocate for body acceptance, also addressed the backlash surrounding weight loss dr*gs. She slammed critics who call the use of medication “cheating,” calling that label both “unnecessary” and “a lie.”

Ultimately, Lizzo urged people to stop commenting on other people’s health or weight journeys, signing off with a blunt message:

“How about we all mind our own bodies. STFU.”

Are you standing in agreement with Lizzo? ?
