Goofy Italian Comedy ‘Sicily Express’ Trailer – A Magical Garbage Bin

“Work in Milan and sleep in Sicily? This Christmas, it will be possible.” Ha! I wonder if this a funny concept only Italians will understand? Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a an extra wacky comedy mini-series titled Sicily Express, ready for streaming on Netflix starting in early December. Another holiday offering from Netflix – this one is really made just for Italians to laugh about. With Christmas around the corner, two blundering Sicilian friends working in Milan discover a dumpster that transports them to their families in seconds. It’s a fun concept where this trash bin allows them to travel instantly between North Italy (where Milan is) and South Italy (where Sicily and Palermo and Naples are located). The new miniseries is written, directed, and starring Ficarra & Picone. The beloved Sicilian duo returns with a five-episode holiday comedy launching in December. Along with Salvatore Ficarra & Valentino Picone, the cast also includes Katia Follesa & Barbara Tabita, along with Max Tortora, Sergio Vastano, Enrico Bertolino, Adelaide Massari, & Angelo Tosto, plus a special appearance by Giorgio Tirabassi. This is exceptionally goofy & the humor is dumb, but I gotta say – it does look fun enough to watch. Especially during the holidays. Enjoy.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Netflix’s comedy series Sicily Express, direct from YouTube:

Sicily Express Poster

Sicily Express is a comedy series that tells the story of Salvo and Valentino, two Sicilian nurses who split their lives between their work in Milan and their families back home in Sicily at the bottom of Italy. Just a few days before Christmas, they stumble upon a magical portal inside a garbage bin — an unexpected discovery destined to turn their lives upside down… though not necessarily for the better. Sicily Express, also known as Sicilia Express in Italian, is a comedy mini-series created and made and written and directed by the Italian actors / comedians Salvatore Ficarra & Valentino Picone – aka Ficarra and Picone – also directors of La matassa, It May Be Love But It Doesn’t Show, Andiamo a quel paese, L’ora legale, Once Upon a Time in Bethlehem, and the series “Framed! A Sicilian Murder Mystery” previously. With additional writing by Fabrizio Cestaro, Nicola Guaglianone, Fabrizio Testini. Produced by Tramp Limited. Netflix will debut Sicily Express streaming on Netflix starting December 5th, 2025 coming up. Who wants to watch?

Maya Bagel Express Opens Second Location in Louisville to Rave Reviews – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Maya Bagel Express is expanding with the opening of a second location in Louisville, Kentucky, building on its success as one of the city’s most beloved breakfast and brunch establishments. The scratch-made menu items and attention to detail endear the breakfast spot to local foodies, and this second establishment underscores its popularity.

The second store is a tangible glimpse of success for the local restaurant, built upon core family principles that go into each menu item. This retro style of running a neighborhood restaurant has earned the shop a loyal customer base, and the new location aims to expand this base while retaining the core tenets that made the original so unique.

Rapid Growth and Loyal Following

Since its launch in late 2022, Maya Bagel Express has earned a solid reputation with a 4.9 rating and cultivated a loyal customer base. Its first location on Poplar Level Road has become a local staple for breakfast and lunch patrons, so much so that it led to expansion.

The expansion reflects the demand from the loyal Louisville community for additional access to the restaurant’s fresh, made-from-scratch offerings. Maya’s recipe for success involves fresh ingredients, passion, and a dedicated commitment to the local community.

Maya’s Uncompromising Quality Equals Uncompromising Support

Maya Bagel Express is known for its consistent quality, making all of its menu items in-house daily from scratch. The brand does not believe in shortcuts or frozen dough, and this philosophy follows to the new location. The menu features classic and creative bagel flavors, including jalapeno cheddar and French toast, and can be served with homemade cream cheeses. Flavors include scallion, cinnamon walnut, and veggie.

Maya is more than just bagels, however. The restaurant also serves Nova Lox, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch options like turkey club sandwiches and pastrami.

Maya’s Vision and Industry Disruption

Maya’s was founded by Murad Islamov when he was just 19. His primary focus was to bring authentic, high-quality bagels to Kentucky, a state that lacks the New York-style options, and by all counts, he has succeeded. Islamov was born into a baking family, where he learned hard work, innovation, and integrity. These are the founding principles of the bagel shop, and they are leading to rapid success.

Maya Bagel Express

Cultural Relevance and Community Connection

The brand has gained national exposure through social media, adding to Maya’s charm and community standing. Even though there are now two locations, the brand still maintains its neighborhood diner feel, and that is a significant factor in its success.

Maya Bagel Express still retains its community charm and has become a gathering place for many locals. Along with delicious menu items, the restaurant serves as a place with a sense of community and service, adding a small-town feel that blends seamlessly with its national exposure.

The new location in Louisville is a welcome sight for the community and promises to be another gathering hub, offering from-scratch bagels and other menu items. This expansion marks a turning point in the young entrepreneur’s life, which stems from the family values he grew up with.

Heer Express Review – Warm at The Edges, Empty at The Centre

by jummy84 September 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Punjabi families in the midst of high drama, traversing the cultures and locations of Punjab and London should be declared a no-go for all filmmakers and screenwriters. How many times can the magic of Jab We Met and Queen be rehashed for the big screen? Heer Express is a sweet film, but it does commit the cardinal cinematic sin of being all-too-familiar, a little too often.
Director Umesh Shukla (who has previously made movies like 102 Not Out and Oh My God!) presents Heer Express as a clean, old-school family entertainer. The kind of movie that tugs politely at the heartstrings while serving a handful of soft laughs and life lessons. On paper it has the ingredients: an earnest newcomer, Divita Juneja playing Heer, as the likeable heroine, seasoned character actors who know how to hold a frame Sanjay Mishra, Gulshan Grover, Ashutosh Rana, and a premise that shifts from Punjab to London so you get family sentiment mixed with a fish-out-of-water vibe. Trouble is, the film mostly stays on the tracks of predictability and never builds enough steam.

Performance-wise the movie is serviceable. Divita Juneja is an exciting discovery. She’s sincere on screen and carries the film’s emotional weight better than the script deserves. Prit Kamani and Ashutosh Rana provide welcome support, and there are moments where Sanjay Mishra and Gulshan Grover quietly lift the proceedings with small, lived-in touches. Audiences seem to notice and like the lead’s warmth even if they grumble about the rest.

Where Heer Express falters is structure and stakes. One could say that the bland screenplay, cliché beats and manufactured crises neither surprise nor deepen the characters. Scenes that should land emotionally feel preordained, and the film’s attempts at comedy don’t often land, which makes the tonal shifts feel clunky rather than charming. The pacing occasionally drags, and many plot turns feel like they belong to a movie that would have been more forgivable a decade ago.

On the technical front the film is tidy but unremarkable. Competent cinematography and a safe musical palette that never quite lodges itself in memory. When a film trades on sentiment rather than invention, it needs either a razor-sharp script or an exceptionally evocative sound/visual design; Heer Express has neither.
If you love family dramas that follow a comforting, familiar blueprint and you came for performances and a gentle vibe, you’ll probably enjoy parts of it. If you want sharper writing, surprises, or something emotionally risky, this one won’t satisfy.
Bottom line is, Heer Express is a clean, well-meaning film with a capable lead and a few sweet moments, but its insistence on safe, clichéd storytelling keeps it from being memorable. Watch it if you’re in the mood for a warm, undemanding evening. Go in with low expectations and you might come out smiling.

Kareena Kapoor Faces Backlash For Dancing To ‘Fevicol Se’ Fans Express Disappointment, ‘Hume Sharam Aa Rahi’ Deets Inside!

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Kareena Kapoor Khan faced trolling for performing an item number at an event, with many netizens expressing disappointment, questioning why an actress of her stature would choose to dance to such a song.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, one of the most stunning actresses in the Hindi film industry, continues to captivate audiences with her exceptional acting, charm, dance moves, and timeless beauty. In her personal life, she is married to Saif Ali Khan, and together they have two sons, Taimur and Jehangir. Recently, the actress—who still reigns in the hearts of her fans—graced an event where she set the stage ablaze by performing her iconic item number, Fevicol Se.

Kareena Kapoor Faces Backlash Over Dance Moves at Recent Event

Kareena Kapoor Khan recently made an appearance at an event, where she lit up the stage by dancing to her hit track Fevicol Se. Dressed in a shimmering white saree paired with a sleeveless blouse, she accessorised with subtle jewellery, soft makeup, and kept her hair open for an elegant touch. The actress flawlessly performed the iconic hook steps, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. However, once the video surfaced online, reactions were mixed. While many praised Kareena’s charm and energy, others criticised her, questioning why an actress of her stature chose to perform an item number at such an event, calling it unnecessary for someone of her calibre.

One user commented, “Even though she is looking uncomfortable, I guess the cheque is more powerful than dignity and reputation.” Another user wrote, “Dance ye kr rhi he or shram mujhe aa rhi hai.” A third user penned, “Ye kyun first time mujhy koi 3rd class stage dancer lgi hy.”

Kareena Kapoor Khan Opens Up About Online Trolling

Like many other actresses, Kareena Kapoor Khan has often found herself the target of social media trolling. True to her nature, Kareena has never let the negativity affect her. Time and again, she has addressed the criticism directed at her — whether it was about hiring a nanny for her son, choosing his name, making public appearances, or other personal choices.

In a conversation with The Quint, Kareena expressed that the growing chaos in people’s minds has led them to overanalyse and excessively troll anything connected to celebrities. She further remarked that, in her view, many of those who indulge in trolling are often people without jobs, sitting idly at home. Out of sheer boredom, she explained, they end up overdoing things that are inappropriate as a way to cope. She stated: “Everyone is all over the place. Everyone is sitting at home, a lot of people are without jobs. One shouldn’t even look at it as trolling. I guess everybody is just bored and wants to say something.”

Kareena Kapoor’s upcoming projects

Kareena Kapoor, celebrated for her bold and unconventional roles, was last seen in Crew and Singham Again, earning widespread praise for her performance as always. Looking ahead, it was announced that she would star in Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra. While initial reports hinted at her playing a key role in the film, later updates claimed she had stepped away due to scheduling conflicts — though no official confirmation has been made. Another report suggests she may appear alongside a young woman in her 20s. While the details of this project remain under wraps, it has certainly generated a great deal of curiosity and excitement.Watch the video here.

Janhvi Kapoor Breaks Silence On Param Sundari’s Comparisons With SRK-Deepika Padukone’s Chennai Express: ‘Not The Same’

Bollywood stars Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra responded to comparisons between their upcoming film Param Sundari and Chennai Express, clarifying that the storyline, characters, and backdrop are entirely different. The trailer of Param Sundari had sparked speculation among fans about similarities with Chennai Express. Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra dismissed comparisons between their upcoming film Param Sundari and the 2013 blockbuster Chennai Express.

In an interview with Mirchi Plus, the actors emphasized that the parallels ignore significant differences in the film’s setting, characters, and overall intent. Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra are actively promoting their upcoming film Param Sundari, slated to release in theatres this Friday. Since the trailer’s launch, many fans have drawn parallels between its storyline and the 2013 hit Chennai Express. The Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer too revolved around a cross-cultural romance, making the comparison inevitable.

What Sid and Janhvi said

During an interview with Mirchi Plus, when the duo was asked about the comparisons with Chennai Express, Sidharth responded: “I think it’s a great thing. I love Chennai Express! I think it’s a good reference. I take it as a compliment. The picture was released 10 years ago. Definitely, these two films are not the same!”

‘It’s a different milieu altogether’ Janhvi added, “It’s a hit movie and an iconic movie. But Deepika [Padukone] played a Tamilian in the film, and I play a half-Tamilian, half-Malayali girl… which, if you think about it, is a generalisation happening from the people who are comparing the two films. I am from Kerala in the film, and not all people from the South can be grouped together. It’s a different milieu altogether, and it’s not like that this is a repetitive thing at all. 2 States was similar, but it came after Chennai Express, and these kinds of films aren’t being released every year. The point is people aren’t comparing us to something that needs to be forgotten, Chennai Express was an iconic film, with iconic characters and actors.”

Param Sundari tells the story of a cross-cultural romance between two leads—one from Delhi and the other from Kerala. Alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, the film features Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya in key roles. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the movie is slated for release on 29 August.
