Nuweb Group to expand North American operations with key hires in the US

by jummy84 October 29, 2025

The American flag is unfurled during the All-Star Game national anthem at Petco Park.

Nuweb Group is growing its North American presence, adding new roles to support rising demand and an expanding client base across the region.

The UK-founded ticketing infrastructure company has evolved over the past five years into a recognised global partner to the live events industry.

In 2024, the company enabled ticket sales in more than 120 countries, with international markets now accounting for the lion’s share of its revenue.

Nuweb Group is planning further expansion in North America, with its technology already powering ticketing operations at major college sports stadiums and supporting high-profile partnerships across the continent.

The company’s footprint in the region continues to grow following a recent partnership with a Canadian based entertainment group that manages sixteen venues and produces more than 1,000 live events annually.

To support its growing demand, the company has announced a series of strategic hires, recruiting for several new positions including Business Development Representative, Account Executive, QA Developer and Software engineer.

These roles will support the company’s growing client base and strengthen its technical and commercial operations across North America. Each new hire will form part of the bedrock and become a pillar of the company’s expansion ambitions.

Ethan Dean, Marketing Manager at Nuweb Group, recently relocated from the company’s Manchester UK base to Toronto to establish the first foundation stone.

“We’ve operated globally for years, but that’s not always immediately visible,” Dean said. “We want to strengthen our presence on the ground in a way that reflects the scale and reach of our operations.”

Nuweb’s expansion signals the arrival of a new class of infrastructure companies – those that operate quietly beneath the surface but power the biggest stages on earth.

The company credits its rapid growth to a culture focused on speed, curiosity and collaboration. “We execute at blinding speed,” said Jose San Miguel, Managing Director at Nuweb Group. “We’re finding people are tired of working at organisations that move at a snail’s pace, and they absolutely thrive here.”

He added that the company’s remote-first model has been instrumental in attracting talent. “It’s allowed us to attract and work with top talent from anywhere – and let’s face it, nobody likes long commutes.”

Momma Expand ‘Sky’ With Outtakes, Heatmiser Cover

Ascendant rock quartet Momma are expanding their acclaimed latest Polyvinyl album, Welcome to My Blue Sky, on Nov. 14 with four outtakes and a cover of “Christian Brothers” by the late Elliott Smith’s pre-fame band Heatmiser. A head-nodding new single, “Cross Your Heart,” is out now in tandem with a video directed by Prophet Media’s Steph Rinzler.

“We actually were messing around with this one during soundchecks while we were still touring [the 2022 album] Household Name,” band members say of “Cross Your Heart.” “We always knew it had potential but we could never fully crack it, and this was one of the first songs we started working on in the writing process for Welcome to My Blue Sky. It’s about a forbidden romance and sneaking around with another person.”

Rinzler’s video finds band members Etta Friedman, Allegra Weingarten, Aron Kobayashi Ritch and Preston Fulks gallivanting around their adopted hometown of Brooklyn, N.Y. “I wanted to capture Momma in their own world, goofing around, stumbling into moments, and letting the night carry them,” she says. “What unfolds is less of a traditional music video and more of a time capsule of a night out. At its core, this project was about keeping the process as fun and unselfconscious as the band is in real life.”

Two of the other outtakes were recorded live with acoustic guitars (“that was the best way to give them justice,” band members say), while “Christian Brothers” was chosen because it’s a song Friedman and Weingarten “have been covering and playing live since high school.”

Momma begins a short European and U.K. tour Oct. 31 in Brussels and will then play their biggest New York show to date on Nov. 20 at the 1,800-capacity Brooklyn Steel. After their first visits to Japan and Australia early next year, the band will help anchor the Something in the Way festival alongside Sunny Day Real Estate, Explosions in the Sky and the Hotelier from Jan. 31-Feb. 1 in Boston.

Nicole Kidman plans to expand film and television production in Nashville

The actress, 58, has lived in the city since 2008, and has now told audiences at the city’s film festival Tennessee has the talent and infrastructure to host more major projects.

Speaking at the Nashville Film Festival during an event titled Nicole Kidman: Where Art Meets Home in Nashville, held at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s CMA Theater, the star said: “I’ll be bringing more and more production here.

“Reese Witherspoon lives here too, and she’s one of my best besties. I can’t say that we will be bringing Big Little Lies here.

“That’s all got to go where it is. But in terms of just, you know, there is so much room here for production. “The crews are fantastic and the actors, and the people, all of… I feel that it’s taking off and will continue to take off, so off we go. Come on, Tennessee, we’ve got this.”

Nicole has already filmed the first season of her crime series Scarpetta in Nashville and confirmed she is “thrilled” to be starting production on its second season.

She described the city as one that “inspires so much creativity.”

Born in Honolulu in June 1967 and raised in Sydney, Nicole began her acting career in Australia, gaining international attention with the 1989 thriller Dead Calm.

She rose to global prominence in the 1990s with roles in Days of Thunder, To Die For and Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut.

Her performance in The Hours (2002), as writer Virginia Woolf, won her the Academy Award for best actress.

Over a four-decade career she has also won Emmy, Golden Globe and Bafta awards, and worked across film, television and theatre.

At the Nashville panel, Kidman also spoke about her attachment to the city where she lives with her husband, country music singer Keith Urban, 57, and their daughters Sunday, 16, and Faith, 13.

She said: “My favourite thing is the people. I love the Nashville people because they embraced me two decades ago and they keep making it possible for our family to have the most beautiful life here. Incredibly grateful.”

Following the discussion, audiences were given a screening of Kidman’s 2003 film Cold Mountain, directed by Anthony Minghella, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination.
