“The Galaxy needs racing!” Check out this first look trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer launching to play in 2026. Sometimes we break our own rules and post trailers for video games – this new one also comes from The Game Awards. When I was growing up, I was a huge fan of the N64 game Star Wars Episode I: Racer, featuring pod racing from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (both released the same year in 1999). So I will admit that I am kinda excited to see that 27 years later they’re bringing back racing to the Star Wars universe with this brand new game arriving next year. Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim of the Star Wars galaxy. The campaign is set in the New Republic Era and takes place on the desert planet Jakku as seen in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is formed: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged. This looks like it’s going to be plenty of fun to play – maybe there will even be a podrace in it somewhere as hinted at with the final shot.

“All I’ve ever thought about is avenging my father.” Sony Pictures has revealed two more official trailers for the animated revenge action movie by Mamoru Hosoda (of the films The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast, Mirai, Belle) titled Scarlet, arriving in theaters this December. It first premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival and will hit theaters exclusively worldwide. Hosoda’s Scarlet follows the story of a brave princess who transcends time and space. Also known as Scarlet Without Limits or Endless Scarlet in Japan, is an isekai-adjacent tale about a princess named Scarlet, voiced by Mana Ashida (from Children of the Sea). After her father, the king, is murdered, she leaps across space & time to get revenge. But finds herself in the “Land of the Dead”, where those who fail to fulfill quests for vengeance risk disappearing into nothingness. On her quest, she meets a modern-day Japanese man named Hijiri (voiced by Masaki Okada) who aids her on her perilous mission. This looks like another exciting adventure by Hosoda! Reviews state it’s a “beautiful take on Hamlet. Fresh new version of the classic story.”

Red Dwarf confirms exciting new release after new special was scrapped

Red Dwarf fans haven’t had the best time of it recently, with a planned special being unceremoniously scrapped by UKTV – but there’s a silver lining to this cloud, as fans will soon be able to relive the show’s best moments.

The original TV soundtrack collections for the classic sci-fi comedy are set to be released as BBC audiobooks.

The audiobooks, Red Dwarf: Series I to IV and V to VIII: The BBC TV Soundtracks, will be available from 20th November – so watch this space!

The news comes after Doug Naylor, co-creator of Red Dwarf, revealed that the new episode fans had been looking forward to was scrapped by UKTV last year.

A spokesperson for UKTV told RadioTimes.com at the time: “UKTV has no current plans to commission further episodes of Red Dwarf.

“It’s been a privilege to work with Doug Naylor and the cast in a relationship that began with the Back to Earth specials, which premiered to 4 million viewers, and has subsequently produced three full series, a retrospective and Red Dwarf’s first ever feature length, The Promised Land.”

However, Naylor has since shared with RadioTimes.com that there’s “absolutely” a chance of the episode, which was set to see Craig Charles’s Lister meeting his younger self, being shopped around to other channels.

“Absolutely, yeah, there’s always that possibility,” he said. “It’s public knowledge now this week, because I’ve announced it, and so now we will go out. The [cast] are really keen to do more.

“I’ve also done two thirds of a movie called Out of the Red where the guys play fictitious versions of themselves, and there’s real interest in that as well, both from a distributor and from a production company.

“In fact, I had a meeting about that this morning, so there’s that possibility as well. So it’s not dead, Dave – yet!”

So, as the wait for more Red Dwarf continues, it’s time to relive the best moments in audio form! Fingers crossed we’ll see the gang back on screen soon.

The new BBC audiobooks, Red Dwarf: Series I to IV and V to VIII: The BBC TV Soundtracks will be available from 20th November. Red Dwarf is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are set to feature together in Haiwaan, a Hindi thriller produced by Priyadarshan. The film is in its final shooting schedule, and Akshay has shared his first look for the movie, creating buzz among fans and viewers.

Instagram posting, Akshay posted a rapid clip of his gritty and intense character, revealing that he is playing a negative role for the first time in 18 years. He captioned it, “Last schedule of #Haiwaan… what a journey it’s been. This character has pushed, shaped, and surprised me in so many ways. Forever grateful to Priyan Sir. And Saif, thank you for the laughter, ease, and those effortless moments on screen.”

The movie boasts the presence of Saiyami Kher, Shreya Pilgaonkar, Samuthirakani, Einar Haraldsson, and Asrani in key roles. Thespian Films and KVN Productions will produce the movie. Haiwaan is slated to hit theaters in 2026.

In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, director Priyadarshan claimed that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will make a special cameo in the film. Although he refrained from revealing Mohanlal’s role, he reiterated his story-first concept by saying, “I never start a film in terms of stars. The script first, then the actor. If I waited for blockbuster stars to come together before deciding to have a story, I’d never find the ideal film.”

Haiwaan is reported to be inspired by Mohanlal’s blockbuster 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam, which was acclaimed for its suspenseful script and psychological depth. “Trust in the Force and it’s energy… which binds all living things.” Disney / Lucasfilm has revealed the full official trailer for Star Wars: Visions – Volume 3, their animated anthology of short films from Japan. This next one looks even more incredible than ever! Some truly stunning stylistic choices in these animated shorts. The first collection of Star Wars: Visions anime shorts launched in 2021, with Volume 2 debuting in 2023, and now we have another set of nine awe-inspiring new shorts debuting in October. This anthology of animated shorts from around the world celebrates the mythos of Star Wars through unique cultural lenses. This next season returns to Japan where it all began, featuring nine shorts from nine unique anime studios: david production, Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA, Kinema citrus Co, Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, WIT Studio — to further demonstrate the diversity & creativity of Japanese animation. Including one directed by Shinya Ohira (from the studio who made the Kill Bill: Vol. 1 animated segment). As always, I’m excited to watch ALL these as soon as the drop on Disney+. I’ll be watching each one of them.

In Visions Volume 3, the animated anthology returns to where it all began with nine shorts from nine different anime studios, including returning contributors Kamikaze Douga, Kinema Citrus Co., Production I.G., and Trigger. The next installment in this animation series will also introduce five new anime studios to the world of Star Wars: ANIMA (co-production with Kamikaze Douga), David Production, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q, and WIT Studio — to further demonstrate the diversity and creativity of Japanese animation. Disney will debut Star Wars: Visions – Volume 3 streaming on Disney+ worldwide starting on October 29th, 2025 coming this fall. The segment made by Production I.G., directed by Shin’ya Ôhira, is titled “Black”. And there is another new Star Wars: Visions series spin-off called The Ninth Jedi coming later this year. Disney has revealed a new making of featurette for Tron: Ares, the epic sequel to 2010’s Tron: Legacy continuing the story about A.I. programs taking over. From Norwegian director Joachim Rønning, this sci-fi tech movie follows highly sophisticated Program Ares, who’s sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first real encounter with A.I. beings. Greta Lee plays Eve Kim, the human lead in this – who’s a tech genius, analytical & observant. She’s one of the world’s best programmers: reclusive, anti social, and an important renegade in stopping the rogue programs. Tron: Ares stars Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Gillian Anderson, and Jeff Bridges back as the OG Kevin Flynn. This opens in theaters early October in about one month from now. They’re ramping up the marketing – another new poster included below and more trailers / videos on the way as we count down the time to opening day.
