by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

The wait is finally over. SS Rajamouli has officially revealed the title of his next big-screen adventure starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film, which had been referred to as GlobeTrotter during production, is now confirmed to be titled Varanasi. The announcement was made during a grand celebration held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where thousands of fans gathered to witness the moment live.
Just hours before the event, Rajamouli shared a message hinting at a major reveal. He wrote, “The title of the film will be revealed along with a visual to the world… Once it airs on the big screen at the #GlobeTrotter event, we will make it live online.” This immediately sparked excitement among fans who were eager to see what the filmmaker had planned.

During the event, Rajamouli introduced Mahesh Babu’s character, Rudhra, through an epic poster that received roaring applause. The filmmaker had already surprised fans earlier with the character posters of Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, but Mahesh Babu’s reveal marked the biggest highlight of the evening.

The title visual takes viewers across different global landscapes before shifting dramatically to the Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi. It is here that Mahesh Babu’s Rudhra makes his first appearance, riding a white bull and holding a massive trishul, setting the tone for the film’s theme and scale.

Have a look at this:

The visual teaser strongly hints that the story will not only span multiple countries but also move across different timelines, adding a mythic layer to the action narrative. The event also included a musical showcase to give fans an early taste of the film’s soundtrack. With the energy in the venue running high, Rajamouli’s vision for Varanasi seems poised to deliver a grand cinematic experience.

Daft Punk share epic new ‘Fortnite’-inspired video for ‘Contact’

by jummy84 November 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Daft Punk have shared a new official video for ‘Contact’, inspired by Fortnite. Check it out below.

The song is the closing number of the French electronic duo’s fourth and final studio album, ‘Random Access Memories’, which was released in 2013 ahead of their split in 2021.

‘Contact’ now soundtracks some cinematic, sci-fi-themed visuals, following the launch of  ‘The Daft Punk Experience’ on Fortnite in September.

The clip was created by Fortnite developer/publisher Epic Games and Magnopus, and begins with Daft Punk floating in space above the Earth. ‘Contact’ opens with an audio snippet from the Apollo 17 mission in 1972, used courtesy of NASA and Capt. Eugene Cernan.

From there, the epic new video sees the iconic robots on a dizzying, extraterrestrial mission as they speed through space towards a flashing signal. Watch it all unfold here:

Polygon reports that studio Magnopus consulted Daft Life – the company that acts on behalf of Daft Punk – to produce the music video, and ensure that it aligned with their “creative vision”.

Magnopus explained: “‘The Daft Punk Experience’ is a sonic and visual voyage through the minds of one of the most iconic and inspiring acts of the last 30 years. We brought it to life with multiple themed rooms, where players could remix music, battle robots, create a LEGO music video, and dance ‘til dawn.

“Building on that world, we took the opening sequence from the game and transformed it into a new music video for ‘Contact’ – the final track from Daft Punk’s final album, ‘Random Access Memories’.

‘The Daft Punk Experience’ provides an immersive world that allows Fortnite players to explore 31 songs from across the group’s catalogue, while there will also be custom outfits, all-night dance parties and opportunities to remix and mashup Daft Punk songs.

Additionally, there are custom outfits, all-night dance parties and opportunities to remix and mashup tracks by Daft Punk through the game. There is also a virtual concert, featuring moments from their celebrated ‘Alive 2007’ live album.

Following its release, Daft Punk fans praised the new experience for Fortnite, with some calling it “absolutely incredible”.

In early 2024, a former session drummer for Daft Punk confirmed the existence of a lost album, claiming that “it’s coming out [of] the locker”.

Stranger Things Season 5: Here’s Everything We Know About the Epic Finale

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Stranger Things season 5 is finally upon us—but now we’re not sure we’re ready to say goodbye.

In the summer of 2016, out of seemingly nowhere, everyone was talking about Netflix’s 1980s-set sci-fi series Stranger Things. Fast-forward a few months later and it was a pop culture phenomenon: Everyone watched it, it seemed like three out of five people at every Halloween party was dressed up as a Stranger Things character, and we’ll never look at Eggo waffles the same! Now, years later, the saga is about to come to a close with the fifth and final season. (At least, until we get a spinoff, of course.)

In an open letter to fans shared with the press all the way back in 2023, Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer said the Stranger Things saga needed to be told over the course of five seasons. “Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things,” they added. “At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four but—as you’ll see for yourselves—we are now hurtling toward our finale.”

Now, we’re about to see breakout stars Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard, as well as longtime icon Winona Ryder grace our screens as their Stranger Things characters for the very last time. Here’s everything we know about Stranger Things season five.

STRANGER THINGS: SEASON 5. When does Stranger Things season 5 premiere?

In May 2025, Netflix announced the final season will be released in three parts during over the course of the holiday season. Here are the dates you need to put on your calendar—though they’re definitely already marked for other occasions:

Rana Daggubati says he has seen Baahubali The Epic, hails SS Rajamouli’s ‘vision’: ‘Will always be the largest impact’

SS Rajamouli’s remastered film Baahubali The Epic re-released in cinemas on October 31. Rana Daggubati shared that he has seen the 3 hour-long cut.

Actor and producer Rana Daggubati is busy promoting his upcoming release Kaantha. Amid this, he was also reminded of the re-release of Baahubali: The Epic, which is one of the most iconic films of his career. The actor was in conversation with Galatta Plus where he shared his thoughts on seeing the film and how it has been received by the audience, in almost setting a benchmark for Indian Cinema.

Rana Daggubati plays Bhallaldeva in Baahubali.

What Rana said

When Rana was asked whether he had been able to see the 3-hour 40-minute cut of the film, he said yes, and shared what it is like to watch the film a decade after release: “It is fun because that was the first story that was told to us. It was supposed to be one film at some point. It was just a long one film… it was just so amazing to revisit that and that we got to see it a decade later and still has aged beautifully, on the big screen.”

He added, “In India you grow up with stories of mythology, stories of wars and gods and kings, and the only reference you have as a feature film is Baahubali… that this is how the warriors of Mahabharat could have been. The fact that it came on screen, with a vision of someone like Mr Rajamouli who pushed each boundary- that whole team just went all out to make that film. That’s something that will always be the largest impact of my life.”

About Baahubali The Epic

The film is a compilation of Rajamouli’s blockbusters Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). Prabhas plays dual roles, alongside Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, Rana Daggubati and Nassar in key roles. The re-release was remastered, with both sound and visuals receiving a complete overhaul before its return to cinemas.

Baahubali: The Epic Collections: SS Rajamouli’s Film Earns Rs 17 Crore

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Baahubali: The Epic (combining the original two Baahubali films into one) which released on October 31 has set the cash registers. Fans of the franchise are experiencing the nostalgia and the grandeur of Mahishmati. After two days, the Rajamouli directorial has netted around Rs 17 crore in India. The collections yet again demonstrate why he remains one of the finest storytellers in Indian cinema.

Powerful comeback

After earning around Rs 9.65 crore on the first day (October 31), Baahubali: The Epic continued its successful run at the box office on its second day. The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati-starrer collected Rs 7 crore at the ticket window on Saturday taking its overall collections to Rs 17 crore. (The special screenings on Friday earned Rs 1.15 crore). With Sunday being a holiday, the film is likely to cross the Rs 20 crore milestone at the domestic market. These numbers are phenomenal for a re-release film, and trade analysts comment that Baahubali: The Epic made a powerful comeback to the theatres. Many stated that the idea of clubbing two parts, Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion, into one resonated with the audiences. Moreover, the film has a personal connection too with the audiences. They look at the fantasy drama as a film that catapulted Prabhas to a Pan India superstar, and Rajamouli to one of the acclaimed directors in the country

Baahubali: The Eternal War

Baahubali: The Epic, the new version has a run time of approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes with select sequences for a refined experience. Interestingly, towards the end of the film, there’s a teaser of an animated 3D film in the world of Baahubali titled Baahubali: The Eternal War. It is a 3-hour-30-minute combined version of the two live-action films. The visuals received a stunning response from the audience. Rajamouli recently revealed that the estimated budget of the Ishan Shukla-animation film was Rs 120 crore. However, no release date has been announced for the film so far.

Each Other Films Unveils Slate With Folklore Epic, Drag Documentary

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Seven years after its launch, Taiwan-based Each Other Films is stepping into an expanded phase of international production, with co-founder and head producer Jacqueline W. Liu and co-founder and CEO Tiffany Yu-Chia Chen unveiling a diverse lineup that stretches from documentary to big-budget action.

The quartet of projects represents a widening scope for the Taipei company, which has steadily built credentials through festival selections, streaming deals and local box office success since 2017.

Among the newly revealed titles is a documentary about drag performer Pangina Heals, a figure who bridges Taiwanese and Thai cultures. The film, titled “Heals,” represents the company’s initial move into factual storytelling through international partnership, working alongside Thailand’s N8 and World of Wonder.

Fiction projects include Henry Tsai’s first directorial effort, “Spent Bullets,” adapted from short stories by Taiwan writer Terao Tetsuya. Production will span multiple cities including Silicon Valley, Las Vegas and Taipei. The film has secured spots at both Golden Horse Film Project Promotion and Taiwan Creative Content Fest 2025.

The company is also returning to a proven property with a fresh chapter in its hit “The Accidental Influencer” franchise. Centered on the character Red, “The Accidental Influencer: Love Me If You Dare” will launch next January on both GTV and Netflix, bringing back the series with additional cast members and storylines focused on contemporary relationships.

Perhaps the most ambitious entry is “The Odd Three: Madam Tiger,” which director Joseph Chen-Chieh Hsu (whose credits include “Little Big Women” and Tokyo-bowing “Double Happiness”) is developing as a large-scale adventure that reinterprets traditional folklore through a modern lens. The project is being positioned as a potential launching point for additional character-driven stories across the region.

“I’ve always believed that a story rooted in a specific place, language, or authentic human connections can still move people everywhere,” said Liu. “That’s the power of cinema — it turns the personal into the universal. As we enter this next phase, I’m excited to expand what that means, especially across genre, scale, and collaboration.”

“Building a production company means knowing where you want to go, and choosing the right stories and people to take you there,” added Chen. “We’ve spent the past seven years building trust — with creators, with partners, and with each other. Now, we’re ready to scale. The future of Asian storytelling is global, and we’re here to be part of that shift.”

The company’s previous work includes the 2020 theatrical release “Little Big Women,” which topped the Taiwan box office that year and earned recognition at the Golden Horse Awards before landing on Netflix. More recently, “The Accidental Influencer” became an HBO Asia original in 2024, while “Dreams in Nightmares” played Berlin’s Panorama section this year. “Penguin Girl” opened last year’s Kaohsiung Film Festival.

Operating under a mission statement emphasizing female perspectives and universal connection, Each Other Films continues developing its pipeline while pursuing additional partnerships across borders.

The Epic’ Draws Crossover Audience

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

S.S. Rajamouli (RRR) returned to U.S. theaters with Baahubali: The Epic drawing a crossover audience and an estimated $837.3k since midweek on circa 450 screens. Variance Films handled the U.S. release, working with producers Arka Mediaworks and marketing firm Walls & Trends.

Prathyangira Cinemas handled Canada.

The film a new vision of the the two-part Baahubali series Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017) — the latter the highest grossing Indian film of all time in North America — remastered and edited into a single cinematic experience by Rajamouli. Clocking in at four hours, with intermission, the release kicked off Wednesday on 160 premium large format screens including Imax to sellouts at AMC Lincoln Square Imax and theaters across the country. A handful added midnight screenings that night for serious fans to meet demand.

The Epic expanded to 448 locations Thursday with 60+ PLF runs holding. It will continue to play through next weekend, after which  it will remain available on screens in a model Variance developed successfully with RRR, bringing it back after its initial run with an “encoRRRe” release that continues selling out theaters to this day and has added $1.5 million to the initial gross.

“S.S. Rajamouli movies are what movie theaters were built for, and sitting in the middle of the theater this weekend watching die-hard fans cheer their favorite moments while first-time viewers leaned forward to see what would happen next is as much fun as you can have at the theater,” says Variance president and founder Dylan Marchetti. He said the initial gross was a bit above internal projections.

Indian films are highly valued at the North American box office but often do 80% of their business with Indian audiences and families on the first day of release, then fall off dramatically. The audience for Baahubali: The Epic was roughly 10% to 15% non-Indian Rajamouli fans who liked RRR and heard about this latest on Letterboxd or other social media in a calibrated campaign that was also cognizant of not taking away from the core audience. Marchetti expects the road show, like RRR’s, to be almost exclusively non-Indian moviegoers.

In Baahubali, a legendary warrior emerges from humble beginnings to challenge powerful forces threatening his homeland, as ancient prophecies and family bonds shape his journey. It stars Prabhas in dual roles alongside, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishna, Nassar, Sathyaraj, Subbaraju and Adivi Sesh.

RRR opened in March of 2022 to $9.5 million domestic, going on to gross over $15 million (and $166 million worldwide). It charged into multiplexes amid a dearth of new releases post-Covid, going on to win the Oscar for Best Original Score.

Other indies: Focus Features’ Bugonia by Yorgos Lanthimos grossed $4.8 million in a big week two expansion on 2,043 screens for a cume of $5.8 million. This is the best wide break to date for the director (The Favourite, Poor Things, Kinds Of Kindness). It’s Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomaotes with an 86% Critics Score and 83% Audience Score. B CinemaScore. Audiences were 61% male, 39% female with 39% ages 24-34. Around 53% were White, 24% Latino, 7% Black, 7% Asian and 6% Native American/other. Focus said it expects audiences to continue to find the Emma Stone-starring film in theaters despite an overall depressed marketplace.

Briarcliff’s animated family comedy Stitch Head opened to $2.1 million on 2,162 screens for a $2.5 million cume.

Anniversary from Roadside Attractions is eyeing an estimated 3-day gross of $259.2k on 809 screens.

IFC opened Ozark Mountains-set crime thriller Violent Ends in 700 theaters to $120k.

Neon’s Shelby Oaks grossed $770k in week two at 1,708 locations for a cume of $3.9 million.

Baahubali The Epic box office collection day 1: SS Rajamouli and Prabhas’ two blockbusters, Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion, re-released in theatres today as one film, titled Baahubali The Epic. The film received positive reviews from audiences and also took a bumper opening.

Baahubali The Epic is a re-edited re-release of the two Baahubali films packaged as one.

Baahubali The Epic box office performance

According to Sacnilk, Baahubali The Epic collected ₹7.88 crore on day 1 at the domestic box office. The film has not only surpassed the opening day haul of previous re-releases such as Vijay’s Ghilli (reportedly ₹4.87 crore) and Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja (reportedly ₹5.75 crore), but it has also exceeded the day-one collections of recent blockbusters like Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra ( ₹2.71 crore) and Dragon ( ₹6.5 crore).

About Baahubali The Epic

Baahubali: The Epic is a remastered version of filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s two-part magnum opus — Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017). The combined film, re-released in cinemas on 31 October 2025, is backed by Arka Media Works. The re-edited version runs for approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes, with select sequences trimmed. Featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles, the epic chronicles the story of Mahishmati, its power struggles, and the rise of the valiant warrior, Amarendra Baahubali.

The film opened to overwhelmingly positive responses from audiences and critics. The re-release isn’t confined to Indian theatres — it has been re-released across more than 1,150 cinemas worldwide, including over 400 screens in the US, 210 in the UK and Ireland, and numerous venues in the UAE, Australia, and Southeast Asia.

Annapurna Studios’ CTO, CV Rao, the man behind the transformation of two films into a 3-hour-44-minute-long spectacle, told Hindustan Times, “When Baahubali first came out, each film took us four months of post-production. It took us approximately 10 weeks, or around two months, to complete the project this time around. But the bigger challenge for us was to deliver the output in multiple formats.”
