Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs enters prison rehab program that could reduce sentence – National

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Sean “Diddy” Combs is participating in a drug rehabilitation program in prison that could help reduce his sentence by a year, his spokesperson Juda Engelmayer said.

The program is offered at Fort Dix, the federal prison complex in New Jersey where Combs will serve his sentence.

Combs is “committed to sobriety, focused on healing, and trying to set an example for others,” Engelmayer told the New York Times.

“Mr. Combs is an active participant in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) and has taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the start,” Engelmayer said. “He is fully engaged in his work, focused on growth, and committed to positive change.”

Combs has been sleeping in a nine-person room within a unit that houses around 200 people and he currently works in the chapel library, Engelmayer added.

On Friday, a report from TMZ claimed that Combs had been caught in prison drinking homemade alcohol, which Engelmayer denied.

Combs’ official X account also shared a statement denying the allegations on Monday, saying, “The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false. His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”

In an Oct. 6 filing, Combs’ legal team requested that he be placed at “FCI Fort Dix for RDAP purposes and any other available educational and occupation programs” in order to “address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”

The news of Combs’ participation in the rehabilitation program comes two weeks after his prison release date was revealed following his sentencing.

The 55-year-old disgraced hip-hop mogul was originally scheduled to get out of prison on May 8, 2028, but the date has now been changed to June 4, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ online database.

On Oct. 3, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Combs to just over four years in prison and a fine of US$500,000, the maximum possible, for his conviction on federal prostitution-related offences. He will also be under five years’ supervised release after his time in prison is served.

In his ruling, Subramanian said that “a history of good works can’t wash away the record in this case, which shows that you abused the power and control over the lives of women who you professed to love.”

“You were no John,” he added. “You were more than that, even if your currency was satisfying your sexual desires instead of money.”

Subramanian said a substantial sentence is required “to send a message to abusers and victims alike that exploitation and violence against women is met with real accountability.”

Federal prosecutors had asked that Combs, 55, be sentenced to at least 11 years and three months in prison. Combs’ lawyers urged the judge to sentence him to no longer than 14 months, which would have resulted in his near-immediate release, as he has already served nearly 13 months in a Brooklyn jail.

While addressing the judge, Combs thanked Subramanian for “giving me the chance to finally speak up for myself,” as the former rapper did not testify during his trial.

“One of the hardest things that I’ve had to handle is having to be quiet. Not being able to express how sorry I am for my actions,” Combs said in his statement to the court.

“I want to personally apologize again to Cassie Ventura for any harm or hurt that I’ve caused her – emotionally or physically.”

Combs called his conduct “disgusting, shameful and sick.”

“Because of my decisions, I lost my freedom, I lost the opportunity to effectively raise my children and be there for my mother,” Combs said. “I lost all my businesses, I lost my career, I totally destroyed my reputation.”

Combs said he’s “lost my self-respect” and has been “humbled and broken to my core.”

“I hate myself right now. I got stripped down to nothing,” Combs said. “I want to apologize to my seven children. Y’all deserve better.”

The sentencing marked the conclusion of Combs’ New York trial, which began on May 5.

Combs’ legal team filed a notice of appeal on Oct. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York from the Oct. 3 judgment. Details of the appeal have not been made public other than the legal filing.

Emma Thompson Enters Streaming Era in Apple TV’s ‘Down Cemetery Road’

by jummy84 October 31, 2025
written by jummy84

Worried about suffering withdrawal symptoms from “Slow Horses”? Well, in a shrewd bit of scheduling, just as its fifth series concludes, Apple TV is premiering yet another Mick Herron adaptation centered around the bumbling inner workings of British government, starring an Oscar-winning national treasure to boot.

Commanding center stage in “Down Cemetery Road,” however, is Emma Thompson in a role which, like Gary Oldman’s slovenly antihero, has the potential to define her latter-day career.

The Dame is, of course, no stranger to the small screen, having earned a BAFTA for ‘80s miniseries “Tutti Frutti” and “Fortunes of War.” And who can forget her Emmy-winning cameo in “Ellen,” triple duties in “Angels in America,” and scarily prescient turn as a right-wing politician in Russell T. Davies’ “Years and Years”?

Rachel Sennott in 'I Love LA,' the HBO series she created and stars in as Maia

But this engrossing eight-parter is the first time she’s led a show in the streaming age. And, judging from its first three episodes, she’s immediately struck gold.

Thompson plays Zoë Boehm, a private investigator every bit as spiky as her pixie cut. Much of her derision is reserved for Joe (Adam Godley), her downtrodden husband and more pragmatic partner-in-crime. “Is it another desperate damsel in search of a knight in shining cardies,” she sneers about his new case, the first of several withering putdowns which instantly establishes who wears the trousers. “Sometimes I feel like your mum, picking you up from the f**k-up creche” is another.

Art restorer Sarah (Ruth Wilson) also bears the brunt of Zoë’s acidic tongue when she shows up at her unkempt office looking for help. (“Let me guess, you’ve got a husband, he’s got a secretary, am I warm?”) Of course, having just survived a fireball that’s ripped through her suburban neighborhood, it’s arson rather than adultery she needs investigating. Well, that, and the small matter of a conspiracy involving the Ministry of Defense, a neighboring assassin, and a young girl who may or may not be dead.

Indeed, ever since her painfully middle-class dinner party was interrupted by a nearby house explosion — depicted in the kind of slow-motion you’d expect from a Zack Snyder film — Sarah has become something of an amateur P.I. herself. Unwilling to buy the tragic accident narrative, she makes herself a nuisance at the police station and the hospital, spurred on by a mysterious newspaper photo which appears to have cropped out a child she witnessed being rescued from the scene.

But is all this in the imagination of a bored forty-something looking for distraction from her faltering marriage to a man obsessed about keeping up with the Joneses? Or, as suggested by the shadowy figures appearing to trail her every move, are there really more nefarious things at play?

Of course, by this point, we already know the answer, confirmed by a series of secretive boardroom meetings between the cartoonishly domineering MoD head known as C (Darren Boyd) and weaselly underling Hamza (Adeel Akhtar). The former also gets his fair share of zingers, continually unleashing his disdain with the potty-mouthed zeal of “The Thick of It” favorite Malcolm Tucker.

‘Down Cemetery Road’Matt Towers

“I’d love a heads-up on what Wreck-it-F**king Ralph has got planned for an encore,” he scoffs on learning how a planned hush-hush operation has literally gone up in flames. And it’s safe to say his employee review of “You couldn’t protect him if he used you as a condom,” wouldn’t typically get past HR. It’s a double act which recalls the boss/servant dynamics of British classics like “Blackadder” and “Fawlty Towers.” A spinoff sitcom, should both parties make it to the end with their lives intact, that is, wouldn’t go amiss.

Screenwriter Morwenna Banks — continuing the “Slow Horses” connection having previously penned four episodes — generously ensures each character is given the chance to shine. Sinead Matthews also provides plenty of comic relief as Wigwam, Sarah’s well-meaning but idealistic hippie neighbor whose domestic bliss unravels in the unlikeliest circumstances. And although fully aware of the personal and professional pecking order, Joe is occasionally allowed to bite back (“Now that Cruella’s gone to hunt for puppies, who’s for a coffee?”).

Meanwhile, the ever-dependable Wilson, finally sharing the screen with Thompson having shown up separately in “Saving Mr. Banks,” makes Sarah’s outlandish situation feel believably grounded, the fact her valid concerns are routinely shrugged off indicative of a culture all too quick to dismiss the female voice. And while she’s very much the straight guy to Thompson’s livewire, she’s still afforded the opportunity to get her hands dirty, whether setting off fire alarms or wrestling with hired killers in her own immaculately decorated lounge.

Nevertheless, “Down Cemetery Road” undoubtedly belongs to its biggest star name. Thompson can play the formidable, no-nonsense antiheroine in her sleep, but she’s on especially sparkling form here as a figure with a near-pathological aversion to manners and moral compass that’s dubious at best. She’s undoubtedly less disheveled, and presumably more fragrant, than Oldman’s Jackson Lamb, yet she’s arguably just as flawed, another example of Herron’s ability to make his female characters as complex and three-dimensional as his male.

And while it’s never in any doubt that Zoë will forge a mismatched buddy duo with Sarah, it’s fun watching make her wait, advising her to scratch her armchair sleuth itch with board games and get back to focusing on her “bland scatter cushions.” Likewise, her sheer disdain for anyone who doesn’t fit her free-spirited mold. “Seriously, this is what you want to do with your life?” she asks an aspiring Twitch streamer who helps her clear up some valuable grainy CCTV. “F**k me.”

It would certainly be a grave mistake if Apple TV didn’t also adapt the three further follow-up novels putting Zoë on the case. Alongside “Elsbeth,” “High Potential,” and “Poker Face,” “Down Cemetery Road” belongs to that refreshing new club of semi-comedic mysteries giving women the greatest sense of agency. And, in Thompson, it has the most compelling agent.

“Down Cemetery Road” starts streaming on Apple TV on Wednesday, October 29 with two episodes.

Future Enters Spirits Industry With Roué Wine And Cocktails

by jummy84 October 17, 2025
written by jummy84

While Future is known for his melodic raps about the enticing allure of “Dirty Sprite,” the Atlanta rapper is actually a lover of wine. With each unscrewed cork, he’s noticed something amiss. His life path aligned with beverage industry expert Ryan Ayotte, and together the two formulated Roué: a new line of fine wines and Ready-to-Drink (RTD) cocktails.

“I enjoy wine, but couldn’t find a brand that truly reflected me, something current, innovative, and connected to the culture,” expressed the Grammy-winner in a press statement. “So, I created it. Roué is about bringing diversity into the wine world and showing what’s possible when creativity and culture collide. Roué is for everyone who’s ever felt unseen in spaces like this. Roué is culture, creativity, and authenticity in a bottle”.

Roué

The initial Roué launch includes a 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2024 Sauvignon Blanc, which feature grapes from Pasa Robles and Lake County, California, respectively. Roué also entered the market with two RTDs, Ruby Passion and Lemon Lust.

“If we just wanted to launch a generic wine bottle with a new label on it, it could take two months to build. But for us, we really start from scratch,” Ayotte explained to VIBE on a Zoom call ahead of the launch.

The two men embarked on a long journey from concept to product to create a wine that speaks to the preferences of today’s consumers, who want quality and style without the intimidating jargon of traditional wine culture.

“We had a whole bunch of ideas and we really landed on how to create a multifaceted, really unique bottle that kind of, when you’re bringing back to what the brand’s vision is and its background, it kind of parallels Future, but multi-dimensional,” adds Ayotte. “He’s so unique in the sense that he’s iconic in his music, but also at home on the streets of Atlanta versus the red carpet at the Met Gala. You can’t pigeonhole him into one thing.”

Roué wine

Roué

The wine bottle is custom-designed with this in mind. In the process, the team reviewed multiple samples, fine-tuning the bottle, the box, and overall packaging of Roué until all parties were satisfied.

“We had a ton of different ideas for what that bottle shape looks like, and Future had his hand in every part of the design process, reviewing samples, reviewing mood boards, reviewing the names,” said Ayotte.

The same intention went into the cocktails, which prioritize quality and taste to offer a premium experience, from the flavors served in glass bottles over cans to the unique flavor profiles. At 8% ABV, the Ruby Passion is described as having a red wine base, enhanced with strawberry, pomegranate, apple, raspberry, and a hint of lemon. Lemon Lust introduces a mix of lemon and orange with a white wine base, creating a bold flavor that is not a “sugar bomb.

Roue cocktail

Roué

Recommended pairings for the Cabernet Sauvignon include a filet mignon, a wagyu burger, or a charcuterie board. The championed Sauvignon Blanc is best served with seafood or creamy, buttery dishes. As for the cocktails, they make great options for a variety of meals and settings, as designed.

“I think, separately, both of us before even getting to know each other felt like there’s an opportunity to build a brand for sort of a new generation that kind of sets a new standard,” shared Ayotte. “At the end of the day, whether it’s with Future or just doing it on your own, to bring something to the market in such a competitive industry, you really got to have something that’s unique.”

Roué is available in 44 states, including Georgia, Florida, and California, and can be purchased through leading retailers like BevMo, Gopuff, Total Wine, and, of course, drinkroue.com.

Kantara Chapter 1 Takes The Lead! Enters 100 Crore Club In Record Time, Leaves Competition Behind! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 has taken the Indian box office by storm, becoming the top choice for moviegoers across the country. Despite receiving mixed reviews, this Kannada mythological action drama has quickly proven its box office might, entering the ₹100 crore club in just 48 hours.

According to early estimates, the film earned between ₹43–₹45 crore net on Day 2, following a stellar opening of ₹61.85 crore on Day 1. That brings its total to an estimated ₹104.85–₹106.85 crore net across all languages within two days—a remarkable feat for a regional film. Even on a regular working Friday, Kantara Chapter 1 maintained strong momentum, seeing only a 27–30% drop from its debut day. The movie is now setting new standards for Sandalwood and has emerged as serious competition for other major releases, including Jolly LLB 3, especially in the Hindi-speaking markets.

Box Office Breakdown (India, all languages):

Day 1: ₹61.85 crore

Day 2: ₹43–45 crore (early estimates)

Total (2 days): ₹104.85–106.85 crore

Kantara Chapter 1 vs Original Kantara

The success of Kantara Chapter 1 is a massive leap from the original film. In 2022, Kantara collected just ₹4.60 crore in its first two days. It took the original film 17 days to cross the ₹100 crore mark after its dubbed versions were released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. In stark contrast, the prequel has reached that milestone in just two days, highlighting the power of franchise recognition and the growing appeal of Rishab Shetty’s storytelling.

With two more days remaining in its extended opening weekend, Kantara Chapter 1 is poised to break more records and solidify its place as one of 2025’s biggest box office successes.

Christy trailer: Sydney Sweeney enters Oscars race as she packs in the punches in biopic of boxing legend. Watch

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Actor Sydney Sweeney undergoes a jaw-dropping transformation to play celebrated boxing champion Christy Martin in her upcoming release Christy. The actor dropped the official trailer of the film on Thursday, days after the world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she earned rave reviews. Many even predicted that Sydney could very well earn an Oscar nomination for her performance in the film. David Michôd has directed the film.

Sydney Sweeney plays former boxer Christy Martin in the film.

About the trailer

The trailer begins with Sydney being introduced into the world of boxing as a newcomer. In no time, she is punching her way to grand success, winning titles and setting her life up with manager-turned-husband, Jim (Ben Foster). But things do take a hard turn, when it seems that she no longer has the same control over her game as well as her life. Sydney’s physical transformation and emotional resilience form the highlight of the trailer.

About the film

The official synopsis of the film reads, “Christy Martin (Sweeney) never imagined life beyond her small-town roots in West Virginia — until she discovered a knack for punching people. Fueled by grit, raw determination, and an unshakable desire to win, she charges into the world of boxing under the guidance of her trainer and manager-turned-husband, Jim (Ben Foster).”

It adds, “But while Christy flaunts a fiery persona in the ring, her toughest battles unfold outside it — confronting family, identity, and a relationship that just might become life-or-death. Based on remarkable true events, Christy Martin’s story is one of resilience, courage, and the fight to reclaim one’s life.”

Reacting to the trailer, a fan commented, “Sydney for her first Oscar, lets go!” Another said, “Yeah Christy looks quite great! Pretty hyped for this one!!” A comment read, “She looks so different here! Can’t wait to see.”

The film tells the story of Martin’s rise in the 1990s and charts her personal experiences, including her husband’s attempted murder in 2010. It is produced by Black Bear, Anonymous Content, Votiv, Fifty-Fifty Films, and Yoki. Also starring Ben Foster and Merritt Wever, the film is set to be released theatrically on November 7.
