Deepika Padukone And Farah Khan: A 15-Year Friendship ENDS Over Work Demands? | Glamsham.com

A surprising development has caught the attention of fans — Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan, once known for their close friendship, have unfollowed each other on Instagram. This unexpected move has sparked rumours of a fallout between the two, especially considering Farah played a pivotal role in launching Deepika’s Bollywood career with Om Shanti Om and later directed her in Happy New Year.

The timing of this social media activity has added fuel to the speculation. Recently, Farah Khan made multiple public jabs — albeit light-hearted — seemingly aimed at Deepika’s alleged preference for 8-hour workdays. In a YouTube vlog with actress Radhikka Madan, Farah joked about how long work hours create true stars, indirectly questioning actors who insist on shorter shifts.

The comments didn’t stop there. During another vlog appearance at actor Rohit Saraf’s home, Farah cheekily mentioned that even Deepika Padukone didn’t take as long to say yes to her film. When her cook Dilip asked when Deepika would appear on their show, Farah quipped, “She only works 8 hours now, she has no time,” adding, “She’ll come the day you go to your village.”

Interestingly, Farah has also unfollowed Ranveer Singh, though the actor still follows her.

This comes at a time when Deepika has made headlines for reportedly being dropped from major projects, including Kalki 2 and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. Reports claim her exit was due to her alleged work-hour restrictions, high salary demands, and requests for profit sharing — terms that reportedly didn’t sit well with the filmmakers.

While neither Deepika nor Farah has commented publicly, the digital fallout and public digs suggest that all may not be well between the once inseparable duo.

Sinclair and Nexstar Boycott of Jimmy Kimmel Live Ends

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

The local TV station boycott of ABC‘s Jimmy Kimmel Live! appears to be ending.

Sinclair and Nexstar each said that they would end preemption of the late night show Friday night.

Sinclair said it made the decision after “thoughtful feedback from viewers, advertisers, and community leaders representing a wide range of perspectives.”

That said, while Sinclair appears to have been seeking notable concessions (including an ombudsman at ABC), a source says that no editorial or content concessions were made by Disney.

“In our ongoing and constructive discussions with ABC, Sinclair proposed measures to strengthen accountability, viewer feedback, and community dialogue, including a network-wide independent ombudsman,” Sinclair said in a statement. “These proposals were suggested as collaborative efforts between the ABC affiliates and the ABC network. While ABC and Disney have not yet adopted these measures, and Sinclair respects their right to make those decisions under our network affiliate agreements, we believe such measures could strengthen trust and accountability.”

Nexstar said that it made the decision after having “had discussions with executives at The Walt Disney Company and appreciate their constructive approach to addressing our concerns.”

It is not clear whether those talks will lead to anything more concrete.

“As a local broadcaster, Nexstar remains committed to protecting the First Amendment while producing and airing local and national news that is fact-based and unbiased and, above all, broadcasting content that is in the best interest of the communities we serve,” Nexstar’s statement continued. “We stand apart from cable television, monolithic streaming services, and national networks in our commitment – and obligation – to be stewards of the public airwaves and to protect and reflect the specific sensibilities of our communities. To be clear, our commitment to those principles has guided our decisions throughout this process, independent of any external influence from government agencies or individuals.”

It was pressure from the station owners Nexstar and Sinclair that initially forced Disney to take Kimmel’s show off-air, with the two companies who collectively control nearly one quarter of all ABC stations saying they were going to preempt the show in the wake of comments he made on the program.

Sinclair is the largest owner of ABC stations, with 38 spread across the country, including in major markets like Washington, D.C., and Seattle.

Disney ultimately brought back the show a few days later, saying that executives “made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country.”

However, Sinclair and Nexstar said that they would not be airing Kimmel’s return Tuesday night, reiterating the concerns they had that sparked the initial suspension. The result was that Kimmel’s show was dark in cities like Washington, D.C., New Orleans and Salt Lake City, and nearly one quarter of all households across the country.

Both companies, however, noted that talks continued between them and ABC.

It is worth noting that Nexstar is in the midst of a $6.2 billion deal to acquire Tegna, a deal that if allowed to go through would make it by far the largest owner of local TV stations in the U.S. That deal requires FCC approval. Sinclair, meanwhile, has also said that it wants to engage in M&A, moves that would also require attention from the FCC.

Sinclair says that the FCC did not play a role in its decision.

“Our decision to preempt this program was independent of any government interaction or influence,” the company said. “Free speech provides broadcasters with the right to exercise judgment as to the content on their local stations. While we understand that not everyone will agree with our decisions about programming, it is simply inconsistent to champion free speech while demanding that broadcasters air specific content.”

Of course, the way consumers view their late night shows has changed. Kimmel’s monologue broke his own YouTube viewership record, underscoring that as the primary place where people were engaging with the program.

“Bad blood runs deep.” IFC has revealed the official trailer for a revenge thriller film titled Violent Ends, an indie creation written and directed by John-Michael Powell as his second feature film. This will be out in limited theaters at the end of October – starting on Halloween – for anyone who wants to watch. A southern revenge crime thriller of star-crossed lovers set against the backdrop of the Ozark Mountains, Violent Ends chronicles the life of Lucas Frost, an honest man brought up in a crime family whose only legacy is violence. As Lucas tries to make a peaceful life of his own with his fiancée, Emma, he is suddenly pulled back into the family business when his cousin, Eli, perpetrates an armed robbery with brutal consequences. Starring Billy Magnussen as Lucas, James Badge Dale, Kate Burton, Ray McKinnon, Nick Stahl, & Alexandra Shipp as Emma. This looks better than it should, though another similar cliche crime story in a small town.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for John-Michael Powell’s film Violent Ends, direct from YouTube:

Produced by Undine Buka and Vincent Sieber. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. IFC will debut Powell’s Violent Ends thriller in select US theaters starting on October 31st, 2025 this fall. Anyone interested in watching this?

‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ to Return Tuesday Night as Suspension Ends

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

So “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” being suspended “indefinitely” really meant only preempting three airings in the end.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” will return Tuesday night, September 23, The Walt Disney Company announced in a statement acquired by IndieWire Monday afternoon.

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,” The Walt Disney Company’s statement reads. “It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive.  We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

Disney's ABC announced Wednesday that it was pulling "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" off the air "indefinitely" following comments host Jimmy Kimmel made about Charlie Kirk.

On Wednesday September 17, ABC announced that they were suspending the show “indefinitely” following a joke that Kimmel made on air that many felt was insensitive and inflammatory in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. He said that “We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it.” Many felt that this remark implied the killer was MAGA, which evidence does not suggest is the case, though it is a fact that he comes from a conservative family of registered Republicans who did vote for Donald Trump.

IndieWire noted in the aftermath that Disney harmed its own business interests by capitulating to Trump. Kimmel was a serious investment of years and tens (if not hundreds) of millions of dollars. Someone who was a face of the brand, hosted “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” as well as his late night show, and had even hosted the Oscars for ABC four times. However, Disney also does need the Trump Department of Justice’s approval to go ahead with an acquisition of sports streamer Fubo as well as merging ESPN and The NFL Network.

The suspension had prompted days of discussion about the status of free speech in America and with serious criticism lodged from even conservative Republican senators Ted Cruz and Rand Paul against the Trump administration for its coercive tactics in pressuring Kimmel off the air. Earlier in the day that Kimmel was suspended, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr went on a podcast and threatened that ABC could “do this the easy way or the hard way” in terms of getting Kimmel, a vocal Trump critic, off the air.

Kimmel’s suspension resulted in protests by free speech advocates in front of his Hollywood studio and an ACLU letter decrying his removal signed by 400 celebrities. Perhaps in a sign of ABC’s thaw regarding the suspension, the hosts of “The View” discussed Kimmel’s removal for the first-time on-air today, with Whoopi Goldberg suggesting that their previous silence had been out of respect for Kimmel to make a statement first.

Local affiliate companies Nexstar and Sinclair had previously stated that they would no longer air “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” — which in the case of Nexstar was thought to be a performative act of currying favor with the Trump DOJ because Nexstar wants to merge with fellow affiliate company Tegna. Sinclair has long had a conservative reputation, but their stated aim of airing a tribute show to Charlie Kirk in lieu of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” did not come to pass, with their affiliates airing “Celebrity Family Feud,” like most ABC affiliates, in the timeslot instead.

What Nexstar and Sinclair will do now that ABC has announced Kimmel will return is unclear.

Kimmel’s suspension amounts to only three episodes of his show being pulled: His September 17 and 18 installments (Friday September 19 would have been a repeat), and the episode that would have aired Monday September 22.

These are the stories making headlines in fashion on Friday. On Friday, the Trump administration ended U.S. duty-free imports of packages worth less than $800, known as the de minimis exemption that has fueled a surge in shipments from global sellers to U.S. consumers. The tariffs make …

As Summer Ends, Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber Find Their Easy, Breezy Matching Couples Style

It’s been a big summer for the Biebers. While Hailey Bieber bid farewell to butter yellow and announced lemon as the seasonal color du jour with a Rhode launch and trip to Mallorca (and a Vogue cover to boot), Justin Bieber dropped his long awaited album Swag, brought his brand Skylrk to life, and got even more active and vocal on socials.

Yesterday (August 26), the Biebers stepped out for smoothies at favorite L.A. hotspot Kreation, following a friend’s child’s birthday party. Both kept it casual in summery whites and denim to pick up a selection of colorful cold ones. While Hailey opted for a racerback white tank top and loose-fitting, low-rise indigo blue jeans with black flip flops, a black woven shoulder bag, and a set of slim oval sunlgasses, Justin wore an oversized white and pink graphic shirt with super wide denim shorts, a gray fisherman hat, sporty pink lensed sunglasses, tube socks, and sandals from his own label Skylrk.

It’s not often that the Biebers find the same rhythm with each others sense of style. Hailey has spent the summer enjoying the season’s biggest trends, from the Emilio Pucci print revival, to polka dots and capri pants (at the same time too), and elevated all-black looks. Of course, it’s never too long before she’s spotted in her uniform of sleek tailoring and sandals at Sushi Park, or shopping at Brandy Melville for basics with Kendall Jenner. And, every so often, you’ll see her in those bubbly Skylrk platform mules on her way to pilates. Justin, meanwhile, delights in the most gargantuan hoodies and bottoms, bulbous footwear, and sporty accessories, while always wearing something from his own brand too.

While the Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber codes of style have been long set and it’s rare that they’ll find a sartorial meeting point, sometimes, they find the beauty in the most simple beats.
