The Best New Beauty Products ‘Glamour’ Editors Tried in September

by jummy84 October 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Welcome to Stuff We Want, our roundup of the best new beauty products we tried each month. From undisputed favorites to brand-new releases, these are the things our editors loved throughout the month of September.

September is sort of like a second New Year. After the last blissfully slow days of summer, we’re ready to return to our routines in full form—which justifies a whole new beauty haul.

Among our September faves, you’ll find everything you need to master the transitional look, from glowing foundation to warm and toasty blush. Now that it’s officially fall, we’re also leaning into true seasonal staples. It really is the little luxuries, like a spiced hand soap or a great brown lipstick, that make the new season worth celebrating.

While we love our fall trends, certain beauty hallmarks—like skin care you look forward to applying and easy blowouts that fit into your morning routine—are always in season. What else rose to the top of our editors’ cosmetic bags in September? A rich cleanser, a hydrating lip balm, and a blowout brush for endless good-hair days.

While we’re still soaking up the early-fall sun, the cool breeze of autumn will be here before we know it, which means it’s the perfect time to stock up on these transitional favorites. Scroll on to shop the best new beauty products in September, and get ready to add to cart.

The Best Fall Jackets for Women in 2025, Vetted by Style Editors

by jummy84 October 2, 2025
written by jummy84

The best fall jackets aren’t just a seasonal necessity—they’re also a great chance to punch up any outfit. A few key staples trend every year, and for good reason: Trench coats protect you from wind and rain, denim jackets make perfect light layers, and classic wool makes it easy to transition into winter.

But this season’s jacket trends are also bringing some fresh inspiration our way. Barn jackets are back for another season and more popular than ever, while cropped trenches have picked up endorsements from brands like Burberry and celebrities like Katie Holmes. And the animal world—sturdy leather, smooth suede, wild prints, and faux fur—is having a major moment for fall, thanks to the rise of boho style. From casual (yet work-appropriate) shackets for layering over fall dresses to edgier leather outerwear you can throw on with jeans, these stylish jackets will make you the belle of the…pumpkin patch.

1. The leather jacket

Leather’s appeal is timeless: The material is textural, durable, and at once both edgy and chic. But it’s impossible to deny that the stuff, in all its forms (including incredibly popular suede), is having a banner year, popping up on too many fall runways to count and playing into all of our current outfit ideas. While you don’t have to stick to an earthy palette here, chocolate brown is far and away the color of the moment; sleek black, olive green, and deep maroon are its equally cute sisters.

2. The denim jacket

Denim reaches the height of its powers each fall, and your autumn capsule really isn’t complete until you have a jean jacket in tow. The silhouette is roomy enough for easy layering from September through December; wear one over a T-shirt now, then sub in a chunky sweater when temperatures start to drop. And beyond wearing one for mere warmth, styling a denim jacket is beyond easy—just throw on some matching jeans and some loafers or ankle boots for an easy outfit that feels intentional.

3. The trench coat

It seems like everyone owns a trench right now—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. The easy layer locks out fall’s worst weather, and the highly modular design offers near endless styling potential. Try popping the collar to make a statement; leave the buttons undone but cinch the waist for some extra oomph; tighten the cuffs for a more editorial look. Khaki is the most classic shade here, but feel free to test out trendy colors (dark brown) or materials (waxed canvas, faux leather) if they speak to you.

4. The workwear jacket

By now you know that barn jackets are all the rage for 2025, with fashion insiders putting their own spins on the hardworking classics. But other utility-forward silhouettes, like chore coats and pocket-laden layers, are also trending right now. (Collectively, it seems, we’re asking more from our outerwear.) That’s great news, considering you can now find workwear-inspired jackets in every color, shape, and material. Survey the best options in our edit below.

5. The sporty jacket

Stand-collar nylon jackets have been absolutely everywhere during Fashion Month—see the Lululemon pick below to understand the vibe—but that’s just the beginning of fall’s newfound obsession with sporty layers. Coach jackets, retro fleece layers, and packable puffers worthy of a hiking trip are also very much in the conversation. You could go with your go-to leggings and call it a day, but we’ll encourage you to go more unexpected with a lace skirt, creased jeans, or slipdresses.

6. The wool jacket

One of the easiest ways to make any ensemble feel elevated is to add a wool layer on top. These luxe-looking jackets lend anything—baggy jeans, tailored trousers, sweatpants, you name it—an air of sophistication, and they’re great for helping your fall wardrobe fade seamlessly into winter. Trust us: Each of these finds will quickly become go-tos.

7. The fur jacket

After appearing on too many runways to count this season, from Miu Miu to Simone Rocha, faux fur is one of fall’s absolute biggest trends. And whether you run cold or love to make a statement, this is your excuse to go big with your fall outerwear. Ladylike, collarless picks make great layering pieces, especially with button-downs or dramatic necklaces; collared silhouettes, meanwhile, bring a ’70s boho energy that pairs well with flared jeans and romantic dresses. Take your pick!

Forget a pop of red—why not splash yourself in the color? This tomato-red outfit is on the louder side, sure, but it’s perfect for days in the city or vacations to cold-weather climates, environments where you want to stand out from the crowd. While we love this dramatic hue, it also works for any other shade; fall’s color trends include chocolate brown and rich purple, by the way.

Through a miracle of styling, the down vest here is actually the most fitted part of the look, and we’re obsessed with the effect. On top of providing a little more warmth on frigid days, oversized sweaters and trousers are also especially on-trend right now. (It’s a great excuse to stay comfy, toasty, and current during your next outdoor adventure.) Plus, these two pieces would look great together with or without an extra layer.

The 9 Best Crisp Fragrances for Autumn, Per Beauty Editors

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

Quick! Name a popular autumn perfume! Chances are you immediately thought of a cinnamon-, nutmeg-, or pumpkin spice–infused concoction—something akin to a cosy autumn beverage slowly thawing your chilled palms. And look, maybe you genuinely crave sticky-sweet potions (I too adore a sophisticated, dessert-inspired blend every once in a while), but if you’re open to an even chicer autumn scent, I suggest finding inspiration not at the spice rack but on the quiet streets—where soft, golden light dances between tree branches, blushing leaves crunch underneath your feet, and the air is crisp with a fresh, energizing quality you can practically taste with every inhale. If you’ve ever wanted to bottle that daydream, you’ve come to the right place.

I didn’t realise just how eagerly I was anticipating that first gust of autumn air until I smelled Remi, By Rosie Jane’s latest eau de parfum. On a rather humid, 80-degree day in early August, I received an unassuming sample on my desk (along with a delicately wrapped box of fresh mandarins) and took a whiff—and was immediately transported to that peaceful, tree-lined street on an idle Saturday afternoon. It’s warm and cosy yet never predictably so.

“I didn’t want to make another pumpkin spice fragrance. Honestly, I don’t even like pumpkin spice,” Rosie Johnston, founder of the fragrance brand, admits. (And to that I say, well, same.) “For me, citrus felt fresher and a more modern way to tell that cosy story.” You might associate citrus notes with juicy, summery blends, but allow me to remind you that the fruit technically peaks in the autumn and winter months; and in fragrance, it effortlessly balances heavier, syrupy notes with a vibrant zing. “The mandarin doesn’t stand alone—the cardamom and amber wrap around it, making it cosy and grounding. You still get that crisp, uplifting spark, but with this warmth that feels even more right for autumn than something heavy or overly sweet,” Johnston adds. “It’s modern, unexpected, and keeps you feeling fresh and alive through the season.”

Inspired by Remi, I decided to dig up my collection of crisp, crunchy perfumes and consult fellow beauty editors on their go-to blends that remind them of a cool, autumn wind. Autumn is just around the corner, and these potions are just as essential as a buttery cardigan.

The 9 Best Crisp Fragrances for Autumn, According to Beauty Editors

Bal D'afrique Eau De Parfum

Byredo

Bal d’Afrique Eau de Parfum

Key notes: Bergamot, African marigold, bucchu, violet, cyclamen, vetiver, Moroccan cedarwood

“While I wouldn’t necessarily call this scent ‘crisp,’ it’s the one I know I’ll be melting into this autumn,” notes WWW associate beauty editor Alyssa Brascia. “Its warm disposition and woody, musky undertones make this one endlessly interesting—notes of bergamot, African marigold, and violet crescendoing above the earthy base of it all. These floral notes take the scent on an unexpected upturn, but it dries down beautifully warm and somewhat sweet on the skin. Autumn is calling!”

’replica’ Lazy Sunday Morning Eau De Toilette With White Musk, Lily of the Valley, and Iris

Maison Margiela

Replica Lazy Sunday Morning Eau de Toilette

Key notes: Lily of the valley, iris, white musk

Just-washed cotton sheets and sun-warmed skin are the hallmarks of this clean-smelling blend. While you can totally wear it year-round, it reminds me of a sunny autumn morning—crisp and clear, yet not too chilly. If you’re a fan of the lingering smell of laundry detergent, you’ll surely fall head over heels. A few spritzes, and you’ll swear you just buried your nose in fresh linens.

Camomille Satin eau De Parfum, 100 Ml

Dries Van Noten

Camomille Satin Eau de Parfum

Key notes: Chamomile, vanilla, lavender absolute, orange flower, Turkish rose, musk

Crisp autumn fragrances don’t have to steer clear of gourmand notes entirely. Take this Dries Van Noten number, which perfectly blends vanilla, chamomile, lavender absolute, orange flower, Turkish rose, and musk for an aroma that’s at once fresh, leathery, and sweet. The ornate bottle is the icing on the spice cake—a treasure you’ll want to display year-round.

Apple Love Eau De Parfum

Ellis Brooklyn

Apple Love Eau de Parfum

Key notes: red apple, sugar cane, vanilla madagascar, mandarin, ambrox, musk

Before you wave this off as a sticky-sweet gourmand, allow me to emphasize that Apple Love does not evoke caramel apples—at least in my opinion. To me, it smells like the first bite of a juicy honey-crisp: crunchy, tart, and, yes, subtly sweet. Perhaps it’s because the blend also has mandarin (which, again, adds a modern freshness), ambrox, and musk, but I swear this perfume smells just like a whisper of autumn wind.

Eternal Roots Parfum - 3.4 Oz

Orebella

Eternal Roots Parfum

Key notes: Lychee, bergamot, pink pepper, raspberry blossom, pink sugar, suede, labdanum, papyrus, vetiver, birch smoke, patchouli

Bella Hadid’s newest launch just might be my favourite of her fragrance line. It has a noticeably juicy, fruity opening thanks to lychee and raspberry blossom, but those notes quickly make way for a spicy, smoky dry-down of suede, birch smoke, and patchouli. It’s feminine and bright, but it’s not without its twists and turns—a facet that makes it downright irresistible. It’s no wonder WWW Beauty Director Erin Jahns immediately calls it out as one of her favourite crisp, autumn scents.

Radiant Nectar Eau De Parfum With Woody Musk

CLEAN RESERVE

Radiant Nectar Eau de Parfum

Key notes: Ambrette seeds, pear nectar, liquid musk

Succulent pear meets soft, woody musk in a beguiling blend that can’t help but draw people in. Take it from one Sephora reviewer who writes, “When I put this on, I smell so clean and fresh,” or Jahns, who once shared, “I swear I’ve gotten so many friends hooked on it, and they say it’s the best thing they’ve ever smelled.” If “You smell amazing!” compliments are your thing, you can’t go wrong with this perfect-for-autumn pick.

Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne

Jo Malone London

Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne

Key notes: Ambrette seeds, sea salt, sage

“When I want to romanticise the feeling of a whimsically British autumn stroll along the seaside, this is the Jo Malone London fragrance I reach for,” says Who What Wear UK beauty editor, Eleanor Vousden. “It captures the bracing sea air, waves crashing on the shore and the gentle breeze of salt that caresses the skin and tangles your hair. I love it because it’s both crisp and grounding—it’s one of my favourite autumn perfumes to bring an aquatic mood into the season.”

Merit Retrospect

Key notes: Bergamot, pear, ambrette, aldehydes, jasmine, rose, rosemary, violet, orris, vanilla, musk, moss

“Nothing says autumn like pear, and it’s one of the fruity notes in Merit’s Retrospect perfume that brings a golden sparkle to this crisp fragrance, before drying down into a subtle woody skin scent that is delightfully earthy,” says Vousden. “That’s not to say it has a weak projection, however. It has a 30% concentration of perfume oils, making it one of the more long-lasting perfumes I’ve tried. It’s one of those fragrances that is quietly luxurious.”

Philosykos - Eau De Parfum

Diptyque Paris

Philosykos Eau De Parfum

Key notes: Fig leaves, fig tree sap, fig tree wood, black pepper, white cedar

“We can’t talk about crisp autumn fragrances without mentioning Diptyque’s Philosykos, another fragrance that combines the seasonal autumn fruit of fig, and pairs it with all parts of the fig tree—sap, leaves and bark included,” says Vousden. “The result is a crisp, juicy bite of fig, quickly followed by the milky flesh of the fruit before it gives way to the smooth, woody notes. It’s a classic for a reason, and it’s the perfect transitional perfume to take you from summer into autumn,”

Diversity Alliance founder Gabby Austen-Browne wins inaugural Editor’s Choice trophy at this year’s M&IT Awards, which united 750 event professionals on Friday

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

It was a glittering night at The M&IT Awards 2025 on Friday, with 750 event professionals in attendance at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London to celebrate the great and good of the industry.

Gabby Austen-Browne wins first M&IT Editor’s Choice award

The inaugural M&IT Editor’s Choice award saw Diversity Alliance founder Gabby Austen-Browne honoured for her work to transform the events industry into one that’s more diverse, inclusive and accessible. Presenting the award, M&IT editor Paul Harvey said: “Her work changes lives. Her voice matters. And her legacy – of courage, of resilience and of refusing to accept the status quo – is already being felt by a generation of future event professionals.”

After winning, Austen-Browne said: “It’s an absolute delight to win the Editor’s Choice Award, it’s a big shock, but it’s such an amazing feeling to feel like I’m being recognised for my work and it’s really an honour to be recognised by my peers as well.”

This year’s Personality – Chris Parnham

Chris Parnham, CSO of veSpace International, took home the coveted Personality of the Year award earning a standing ovation. (veSpace also scooped gold in the Best Intermediary Agency Large (40+ employees) category). Presenting the award, ICCA president and Excel London executive director James Rees praised Parnham as a “true driving force” in the meetings and events industry for more than 30 years, who has transformed businesses, inspired teams and shown resilience in the face of enormous challenges.

Rees said: “He stepped up when the industry needed him most, taking on the role of chair at Meeting Needs after the tragic loss of Chris Peacock. Under his leadership, the charity was restructured, strengthened and repositioned as a foundation, securing its mission and future growth. He is admired not just for what he has achieved, but for how he has done it – with authenticity, generosity and a genuine commitment to the people around him. A mentor, a thought leader and a unifying force, he exemplifies the very qualities this award is designed to celebrate.”

After winner, Parnham said: “Wow. Okay, I’m still a bit stunned after that, but it was really nice to hear all those wonderful things about my very long career. I basically take other people’s glory, which I’ve done for the last 25 years, whether it’s the people I work with or the wonderful people at Meeting Needs, hopefully I’ve done good things by them and hopefully inspired some people along the way to also do good things. Look out for your friends and colleagues. Karma comes around. So, be good, be nice.”

The ‘Oscars of the industry’

The ‘Oscars of the industry’ – whose headline sponsor is IHG Hotels & Resorts – kicked off with a rip-roaring set from the Greatest Show following by M&IT editor Paul Harvey, headline sponsor IHG Hotels & Resorts and Meeting Needs current chair Lene Corgan addressing assembled guests.

The first award of the night saw the Victory Service Club’s Daisy Basilio take home the Chris Peacock Rising Star of The Year Award, named in honour of Conference Care founder Chris Peacock, who died from bowel cancer in 2023. Leonardo Hotel & Conference Venue Hinckley Island retained its gold award for Best UK Conference Centre for the second year running, while other victors included a 19th consecutive Best UK Convention Bureau win for Glasgow Convention Bureau, and further wins for KDM Events, Vista Events DMC Greece and Quadrant Events. Celtic Manor Resort was named Best UK Hotel.

“The M&IT Awards are such a highlight in the meetings and events calendar because the winners don’t just showcase the very best of our industry – they’re chosen by the industry itself,” said Harvey, editor of M&IT.

“Huge congratulations to all of Friday night’s winners – every award was richly deserved. And to our fantastic finalists and anyone who left feeling a touch of award envy, remember there’s always next year, and you’ve got to be in it to win it. Entries for 2026 are expected to open in the New Year, so keep an eye on the M&IT newsletter for the announcement.”

During the ceremony, Events R Talented winner Holly Ritchie had the crowd in the palm of her hands with a stunning rendition of You Got the Love. And eventprofs danced the night away into the early hours, enjoyed networking and catching up with colleagues and peers.

Organised by Northstar Travel Group, the glittering and glamorous M&IT Awards are in their 38th year. The Best Trench Coats for Women, According to Style Editors

The Best Trench Coats for Women, According to Style Editors

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

The best trench coats for women are nonnegotiable—your capsule wardrobe just isn’t complete without one of these do-it-all layers. Most of them, from the classics to the newcomers, are windproof and water-resistant, meaning they’re ideal for transitional weather. While the fall jackets themselves are more popular than ever right now, cropped trench coats are especially trendy; even Katie Holmes is in on the look.

If it’s chilly out, look for longer, lined options made with wool or polyester, which are better at trapping heat and locking out wind; if fall is warmer in your locale, then a lighter cotton pick is probably better. And don’t worry—styling a trench takes virtually zero effort. You only need a white T-shirt, your favorite denim, and slim loafers to feel (and look) put-together. In case the weather drops below 40 degrees, layer your coat over a hoodie, pleated trousers, and trendy sneakers to channel an off-duty model. Shop our edit of the very best trench coats below, curated by style-obsessed editors.

The best trench coats for women, at a glance

1. The cropped trench coat

Virtually every brand, from Prada to Zara, is offering its own take on the cropped trench this season, meaning you have plenty of ways to try on this jacket trend. Each of these picks tweaks the formula slightly, whether it’s a classic trench cut off at the waist, a super-short crop, or a silhouette that combines a trench and a biker jacket. Style your pick with high-waisted jeans and easy sneakers to channel Parisian chic.

2. The classic trench coat

What more can be said about the timeless appeal of a trench? These picks hit the knee or lower, and the gabardine fabric will neutralize wind and rain—basically, they’re the perfect transitional outerwear. You’ll find hallmarks like epaulettes, wind flaps, and double-breasted construction on each of these picks, so you can narrow down your choices based on color, weight, and price. (A Burberry trench coat is a classic, but there are plenty of more affordable options, too.) Obviously, they look great with jeans, but try styling yours with a light cardigan, a sequin skirt, and kitten heels to master the art of high-low dressing.

3. The mac coat

When you close your eyes and picture a trench, you might actually be envisioning a mac coat. Short for “Macintosh,” after its inventor, this overcoat style is the trench’s more minimalist sister. These picks have spread collars instead of notched lapels and feature fewer design quirks in favor of a simpler, streamlined silhouette. If you like the idea of a trench but don’t love all the bells and whistles, one of these picks is the perfect compromise—they’re just as resistant to gray weather and allow more room for bringing in your own accessories.

4. The statement trench coat

Bored by the sea of khaki trenches you’ll see on every city street this season? Push the envelope of this classic style with these unique picks, which offer the same protection from the elements but a touch more personality—we’ve already started to spot them on the streets of New York. Whether you prefer a slick finish, an unexpected material, or an eye-catching color or print, these gems will elevate all your spring outfits with zero extra effort.

5. The water-repellent trench coat

Don’t let windy and rainy forecasts deter you from rocking a trench coat this fall. In case of unpredictable weather, waterproof trench coats are your best bet to protect against whatever the season brings—it’s just as handy come spring. Most of the finds here are designed with water-resistant fabrics, detachable hoods, and back vents to keep you dry without sacrificing your outfit. The best part? These functional trenches are just as easy to style, so try layering one with a cashmere sweater in your favorite colorway for maximum comfort.

6. The leather trench coat

Leather jackets are classic wardrobe staples for fall, and luckily, they’re also available in trench form. Both genuine and faux-leather trench coats come in a slew of silhouettes; our favorites are double-breasted, range from waist length to ankle skimming, and have a belt looped at the waist. We recommend letting your luxe leather do all the work—whether you opt for a rich brown coat to match the autumn vibes or go into the Matrix with a sleek black jacket, a simple white tee, and your favorite pair of jeans will pair just fine.

Aritzia Tabloid Trench Coat

Loft Versa Faux Leather Trench Coat

7. The wool trench coat

While many are not technically trenches, long wool coats are great alternatives for combating cooler weather in the fall—especially in timeless neutral colors that transcend passing fashion trends. Wool layers, often made with a blend of other temperature-regulating fabrics, are the key to staying warm yet chic. No matter the weather, this timeless silhouette never goes out of style—and we highly recommend investing in this heat-insulating layer this season to beat frigid months ahead.

10 Most Comfortable Sneakers for Women, Reviewed by Our Editors

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Allbirds has become a big name in comfy footwear in the last few years, and one of their most stylish silhouettes is also super comfy—win-win. Made with a soft, cushiony foam and organic cotton canvas, the Piper sneakers are made with both comfort and sustainability in mind. As a rare bonus, these sneakers are actually machine-washable; the brand recommends removing the insoles and laces before cleaning on a gentle cycle.

What our reviewer says: “I specifically purchased these shoes wanting a low-top pair of white sneakers that would look cute with dresses, and they have not let me down. From casual cotton minidresses to linen maxidresses, everything in my wardrobe complements them. As an added bonus, they are the best walking shoes; I wore them on a recent trip to Italy, where we had back-to-back long days of walking and exploring, so they are Euro-summer approved. I also love that they’re made of natural materials, which makes them feel ultra-breathable. Worth noting: the shoelaces are a tad shorter than I’d like, and I usually double-knot to ensure they stay tied.” — Austen Tosone

Courtesy of brand

What we love: Heel-first design; great arch support
What could improve: Limited colors

Heel-focused footwear brand Kuru upgraded its original Atom design with a better fit, springier cushioning, and improved heel support, all of which are important criteria for the most comfortable sneaker. We wish the design came in more colors, but we recommend the black or white colorways if you’re looking for something simple and walking-friendly.

What our reviewer says: “I’ve been searching for a pair of durable sneakers to handle my intense CrossFit workouts—and I finally found them. Feast your eyes on Kurur’s Atom 2. These sneakers feel like I’m literally walking on a cloud. They’re not only super comfortable and supportive, but also stylish—perfect for everything from walking to high-intensity training. Best of all, I didn’t even have to break them in.” — Chantal Waldholz, Glamour senior global director of audience development, social media, and analytics

What we love: Breathable, water-repellent uppers; wide sizes available
What could improve: Not as versatile as some other sneakers

If you find yourself reaching for orthotics, you may want to add the Vionic Walk Max sneakers to your cart; everything is already built in. They’ve even received a seal of approval from the American Podiatric Medical Association, so you can feel good about slipping into these for several hours knowing that podiatrists have signed off.

What our reviewer says: “I have pretty bad plantar fasciitis and I often walk 10,000 or more steps a day, so I’m super-particular about comfortable shoes. I’ve tried out a lot of sneakers, but the Vionic Walk Max remains my favorite. I’ve had my pair for years and have worn them for traveling, music festivals, casual hikes, and my day-to-day life in New York City, and they are still going strong.
