Dua Lipa and talent agency respond to reports of sacking agent for calling for Kneecap to be dropped from Glastonbury

Dua Lipa and her talent agency have responded to reports that she sacked her agent after he reportedly signed a letter calling for Kneecap to be removed from the Glastonbury line-up.

The Daily Mail reported this weekend that the singer, currently on the North American leg of her ‘Radical Optimism’ world tour, parted ways with her William Morris Endeavour (WME) agent David Levy.

A source alleged that the singer “made sure through her people that David Levy wasn’t working on her music anymore,” adding that “she views him as being a supporter of Israel’s war in Gaza, and the terrible treatment of the Palestinians and that was made very clear through the letter that he signed and sent to Michael Eavis.”

Now, Dua Lipa has taken to Instagram to distance herself from Levy but clarify the reports.

“I do not condone the actions of David Levy or other music executives toward an artist speaking their truth,” said Lipa. “I also cannot ignore how this has been handled in the press. Not only was the story completely false, but the language used by the Daily Mail has been deliberately inflammatory, crafted purely for clickbait, clearly designed to fuel online division.

“It is always Free Palestine but exploiting a global tragedy in order to sell newspapers is something I find deeply troubling.”

A WME spokesperson has also disputed the tabloid accounts. They told NME: “Reports suggesting that Dua Lipa or her management dismissed one of our agents because of his political views are categorically false.

They added: “David Levy played a role in Dua’s early career (2016-2019) and as is customary, is credited both internally and in industry journals as being a member of the team. When he moved out of London in 2019, he transitioned into an advisory role and has not been involved in Dua’s day-to-day business since. Levy fully removed himself from the project among others earlier this year.”

The letter in question was an email sent to Glastonbury organisers, including co-creator Eavis, ahead of this year’s festival. Intended to be confidential, it was leaked by a Glastonbury employee.

The campaign to remove Kneecap, known for their vocal pro-Palestine views, from the line-up, was ultimately unsuccessful, and DJ Toddla T was one of the letter’s biggest critics, writing on Instagram that it “was headed by a very systemically powerful music agent and signed by 30 individuals from within the music industry.”

Lipa, meanwhile, has long been outspoken about Palestine. In 2021, she criticised an ad in the New York Times that labelled her, as well as models Bella and Gigi Hadid – both half-Palestinian – as Antisemitic.

In October 2023, she was one of a number of celebrities to sign a letter to then-US President Joe Biden calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, and she reaffirmed her stance in an interview the following January.

Last May, she shared her support for the #AllEyesOnRafah campaign in a bid to garner support for people living in cramped refugee camps in the city without humanitarian aid. She wrote on her Instagram Stories, “Burning children alive can never be justified. The whole world is mobilising to stop the Israeli genocide. Please show your solidarity with Gaza. #AllEyesOnRafah.”

A month later, she said she was “willing” to “be met with a backlash” over her comments, describing them as being “for the greater good”.

She’s also pressured Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to take action, being one of over 300 figures to sign Choose Love’s open letter urging him to “end the UK’s complicity in the horrors in Gaza. Following his response, the non-governmental organisation hit back, saying, “We need actions not words for the children of Gaza.”

Dua Lipa Denies Firing Agent Over Attempt to Ban Kneecap from Glastonbury

by jummy84 September 24, 2025

Dua Lipa and her talent agency, William Morris Endeavor (WME), have responded to a report that she fired her European agent, David Levy, after he signed a leaked letter calling for pro-Palestinian rappers Kneecap to be banned from Glastonbury Festival.

Over the weekend, The Daily Mail reported that Levy was the first signatory among many Jewish music industry figures who sent a letter to Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis and his daughter Emily requesting Kneecap’s removal from this year’s festival.

“Dua made sure through her people that David Levy wasn’t working on her music any more. She is very openly pro-Palestine and that doesn’t align with David,” a source told the Daily Mail. “She views him as being a supporter of Israel’s war in Gaza, and the terrible treatment of the Palestinians and that was made very clear through the letter that he signed and sent to Michael Eavis.”

On Tuesday, September 23rd, Dua Lipa posted a statement on her Instagram Stories distancing herself from Levy while also clarifying the report. “I do not condone the actions of David Levy or other music executives toward an artist speaking their truth,” she wrote. “I also cannot ignore how this has been handled in the press. Not only was the story completely false, but the language used by The Daily Mail has been deliberately inflammatory, crafted purely for clickbait, clearly designed to fuel online division.”

The artist continued, “It is always Free Palestine but exploiting a global tragedy in order to sell newspapers is something I find deeply troubling.”

A spokesperson for WME also strongly rebuked the tabloid’s claims in a statement issued to NME: “Reports suggesting that Dua Lipa or her management dismissed one of our agents because of his political views are categorically false. David Levy played a role in Dua’s early career (2016-2019) and as is customary, is credited both internally and in industry journals as being a member of the team. When he moved out of London in 2019, he transitioned into an advisory role and has not been involved in Dua’s day-to-day business since. Levy fully removed himself from the project among others earlier this year.”

Dua Lipa has been open with her views about the Gaza conflict. In a 2024 interview with Rolling Stone, she called for a “humanitarian cease-fire” in Israel’s attack on the Palestinian people, adding that she “feel[s] so bad for every Israeli life lost and what happened on October 7th.”

“At the moment, what we have to look at is how many lives have been lost in Gaza, and the innocent civilians, and the lives that are just being lost,” she continued. “There are just not enough world leaders that are taking a stand and speaking up about the humanitarian crisis that’s happening, the humanitarian cease-fire that has to happen.”

Later that year, Dua Lipa reiterated her stance on Instagram after dozens of Palestinians were killed in attacks on Gaza displacement camps. “Burning children alive can never be justified,” she wrote. “The whole world is mobilising to stop the Israeli genocide. Please show your solidarity with Gaza.”

Kneecap’s Glastonbury appearance went on as planned, although their set was not livestreamed by the BBC. While the performance led to a criminal investigation, the case was dropped shortly after.

Since making pro-Palestine messaging central to their performance at Coachella 2025, Kneecap has faced a firestorm of backlash, including an investigation by UK authorities into resurfaced videos of the rap trio allegedly expressing support for Hamas and Hezbollah.

Although Kneecap issued a statement clarifying they “do not, and have never, supported Hamas or Hezbollah,” member Mo Chara was later charged with a terror offense for allegedly displaying a flag supporting Hezbollah. The case has been adjourned until later this month.

Most recently, the group was banned from Canada ahead of their scheduled October tour.

Dua Lipa’s “Radical Optimism Tour” MSG Review + Photos

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

During the first of her four nights at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, September 17th, Dua Lipa stopped and took it all in. From a raised platform about 20 feet in the air, the pop star reflected on her love for the city and its premier venue, expressing gratitude to be back headlining The Garden once again. She had been in the exact position — literally — in 2022, on a raised platform high in the air that weaved back and forth throughout the arena as she performed “Levitating” during her “Future Nostalgia Tour.” Three years later, there she was again, high above us all, commanding us to dance. Has anything changed?

Quite a bit, but at the Dua Lipa show, it’s all relative. The star’s “Radical Optimism Tour” is an advancement from her prior US outing in some ways, but certain tent poles of the Dua Lipa live experience remain unchanged. For one, it is every bit a showcase of her catalog as it is an ecstatic, celebratory dance party, each song somehow groovier than the last. Certain songs were presented in similar fashion as her prior outing: “One Kiss,” “Electricity,” and “Hallucinate” were center stage club moments, while “Physical” was once again an energetic ’80s workout video come to life.

But above all, Dua Lipa continues to be tastefully extra. A lot like the tour before it, this concert had all the bells and whistles of a great pop show — and then some. I counted six costume changes and just as many confetti explosions. There were moments of casual pyro, not always at the climax of songs but sometimes straight in the middle of one. The songs’ movements were elaborate, the choreography gripping and occasionally silly (the ‘lets all hold hands and skip in a circle’ dance moment at the conclusion of “Electricity” was both hilarious and strangely moving). The “Future Nostalgia” run remains supreme, but this new “Radical Optimism” endeavor is its own beast entirely — a more confident, more playful, and somehow even more joyous celebration.

Perhaps the biggest variable in the mix this time around are Lipa’s various crowd engagements and cover renditions. The latter has been a particularly rewarding move for her, using each city as an opportunity to honor its rich musical output while also just trying something new and risky.

For last night’s show, Lipa seemed genuinely nervous to bust out her nightly cover, telling the audience that her choice was personal (while also being a generally challenging song to sing) and revealing that it would be Alicia Keys’ “No One.” She then played a video of her singing “No One” as an adolescent before launching into her cover, which was a treat; Keys and Lipa have settled on very different styles of music, but they both have a powerful, commanding range and an unmistakeable touch of rasp. It would have been extra special to see Keys join her for the rendition, but alas, maybe for Night Two.

The main unpredictable segment of the concert, however, was a mid-show moment where Lipa made her way to the B-stage and stopped to chat and take selfies with fans at the barricade. So many artists do fan interactions during their show, but it’s often during a song or off-handedly from the stage. I couldn’t have been the only one who felt slightly nervous watching Lipa stroll through the crowd and engage with her most enthusiastic fans for not just a minute, but a full 10-15 minute segment. No music, no security guard dividing Lipa and her audience; just a barricade, a camera man, and Lipa’s casual charm.

You have to be so utterly confident to open yourself up to the unpredictable mid-show, to let others speak directly into your microphone and essentially say anything. It’s impressive from a social level that she’s been doing this so publicly at every stop of the tour, and luckily, her faith in her fans was endearing last night; when Lipa spoke to one incredibly enthusiastic fan and asked how she was enjoying the show, the woman responded “I CANNOT HEAR WHAT YOU ARE SAYING” (yes, in all caps), and the arena erupted with laughter.

It was a sweet, wholesome moment that stuck out within a concert that had a lot of highlights. When watching Lipa’s show, it’s easy to see her as an enigma, a symbol of beauty and prowess, so magnetic that she feels like a fictional character in a TV show about a great pop star. But this segment with her and her fans was a really lovely reminder that of course, she’s human, she’s funny, and she shares the same passion as her most devoted audience members.

There were several other aspects to the production that really worked in Dua’s favor. The lighting was generally outstanding; a large infinity-shaped ring of light wrapped around the stage, with it forming the crest of a wave right at the center. It led to some dazzling visuals, especially as the aesthetic themes that accompanied each song transformed from one into another.

What didn’t exactly work, however, was the show’s intro. There was definitely an aquatic theme at play, in line with the Radical Optimism album cover and the aforementioned ‘wave of light’ streaking across center stage. But the show began with a particular long and meditative into, where lush, watery tones and images of waves crashing in slow motion played for almost a full 10 minutes before Lipa started singing. It was as if we started the show at the Whale Room from the Museum of Natural History, and even as the pre-show soundtrack grew in dynamics, it still felt like we were supposed to be closing our eyes and imagining ourselves in the middle of the ocean.

I’m all for an immersive opening, but then Lipa finally arrived onstage and began the show with “Training Season,” which was totally incongruous (both musically and thematically) to the whole ocean vibe being cultivated. She had to play “Training Season,” of course, but it was not the strongest opening track either; it’s at such a high part of her voice, and she performed the first verse so slowly, that it set us off on the wrong foot for the start of the show. Also, this aquatic-style theme totally disappeared throughout the concert, never to be reprised for the various Radical Optimism tracks she performed.

Eventually, as the show’s movements unfolded and Dua found her stride, the evening transformed into what a Dua Lipa concert should be: an absorbing spectacle and a hell of a lot of fun. By the time she was back on that elevated platform, confetti cannons blazing and the crowd dancing below, it was clear that while plenty has changed since 2022, her ability to turn Madison Square Garden into her personal dance floor remains wonderfully, reliably intact.

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner launch production company

30 August 2025

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have founded their own production company.

Callum Turner and Dua Lipa recently announced their engagement

The 30-year-old pop star and her 35-year-old fiance have created a new company called TwentyTwo Films Limited, and the couple already have “lots of plan” in place for their joint venture.

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Dua and Callum are both very ambitious people and have lots of plans for ventures they want to do together.”

Dua has previously appeared in the movies Barbie and Argylle, and she wants to have more “creative control” over her projects moving forwards.

The loved-up couple already have “loads of ideas” for the long-term future of TwentyTwo Films Limited.

The insider explained: “She has dipped her toe in film before. But if she does further projects, she wants to have more creative control.

“She and Callum have loads of ideas that they think would work. It’s very early days but the wheels are in motion.”

Dua recently revealed that she’s been feeling “happier than ever” after getting engaged.

Speaking to Harper’s BAZAAR magazine’s global ICONS Issue, Dua shared: “I love love. It is a beautiful thing. It’s a really inspiring thing. You find yourself so intensely falling all the time in the best way possible. That vulnerability is so scary, but I feel so lucky to get to feel it.

“I’ve spent a lot of time being guarded or protecting my heart, and so I’m letting go of that feeling and just being like, ‘Okay, if I’m supposed to get hurt, then this is what’s going to happen.’ I have to just allow love.”

Dua explained that she also feels more comfortable than ever talking about her love life.

Despite this, the chart-topping singer acknowledged that “anything that’s very personal is very vulnerable”.

Dua – who has previously dated the likes of Anwar Hadid and Romain Gavras – said: “I’m happier than ever, so it feels like I’m doing a disservice by not talking about it.

“When you’re a public person, anything that’s very personal is very vulnerable. It’s not like I don’t want to share it.”

No Mercy For Paparazzi: Deepika Padukone’s Stern Warning To Fan Recording Dua At Airport | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 August 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Bollywood couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have been in the middle of a huge social media controversy after a video of their one-year-old daughter Dua was leaked online. The video, allegedly shot at Mumbai International Airport, captures Deepika with Dua on her lap in a buggy. The video, which gained traction online, has resulted in widespread outrage, with fans and netizens lashing out at the privacy invasion of the family.

Unconsented Recording Sparks Backlash

Deepika is seen visibly distressed and is noticed requesting the person behind the camera to put a stop to the recording but that doesn’t happen. This action has been criticized by fans who have always appreciated the couple’s strong decision of keeping Dua out of the media’s sight. Until now, the paparazzi and news outlets had largely respected the couple’s request for privacy when it came to their child.

One viewer posted, “Please remove this video. The parents have always indicated they do not want Dua’s photographs posted.” Another viewer chimed in, “It isn’t right to post this if the parents haven’t agreed. It’s a definite invasion of their privacy.” The episode has opened up wider debate surrounding the morality of taking pictures of children of celebrities without their parents’ permission.

Pattern of Paparazzi Overreach

This is not the first time that celebrity parents in Bollywood have expressed concern over their children’s privacy. Previously, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor had asked photographers not to click pictures of their daughter Raha after having first introduced her at a family event. The couple went on to reiterate that they would keep her away from the limelight owing to fears of her safety and mental state.

In like manner, Deepika and Ranveer, who brought home Dua on September 8, 2024, have balanced their approach. They had invited some paparazzi to get to know their daughter but did not publish her photos. On Diwali, they shared her name with a sentimental message: “Dua: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers.”

What’s Next for the Couple

On the work front, Ranveer Singh is all set to release Dhurandhar on December 6, followed by much-awaited Don 3. Deepika Padukone, who’s on maternity leave, is getting ready to roll back into the movies with director Atlee’s next film opposite Allu Arjun.

While the controversy rages online, the incident has sparked heated debates about boundaries, consent, and the right to privacy even for India’s most publicized families.
