Ray J Countersues Kim Kardashian & Kris Jenner, Claims Mom-Daughter Duo Spent Decades’ Saying S3x Tape Was Leaked’ When It Was Filmed & Distributed w/ Mutual Agreement
Over 20 years later, and we’re still discussing #RayJ and Kim Kardashian’s s3x tape.
Ray J has slammed #KimKardashian and #KrisJenner in new legal documents that serve as his rebuttal to a defamation suit they recently filed against him.
In the filing, obtained by TMZ, Ray J claims the 2003 s3x tape (released in 2007) between him and Kim was not leaked without her consent but was instead “consensually shot” and released with Kim’s and Kris’s involvement. He argues they have “spent two decades peddling the false story that the sex tape … was leaked against her will.”
According to Ray, the arrangement involved Kim insisting that her mom Kris oversee the tape’s release and commercial exploitation. He says the lawsuit filed by the Kardashians is not about defamation at all but is really a power move: “it’s about publicity, power, and punishment.”
The docs also assert that Ray J and Kim reached a settlement where #KimK paid him $6 million and agreed to avoid public references to the tape, a clause Ray claims the #Kardashians violated almost immediately.
Filed by attorney Howard King, Ray’s countersuit contends that Kim and Kris were “furious” when he refused to go along with what he sees as their long-run narrative. “They’re trying to weaponize the judicial system, shirk their contractual obligations, and sacrifice on the altar of fame,” Ray argues in the docs. He claims he’s entitled to $1 million in damages.
