SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers from Season 2, Episode 1 of “Landman,” “Death and a Sunset,” which premiered Sunday, Nov. 16, on Paramount+.

Howdy, “Landman” fans! I’m Bill, and I’m the city slicker who’s going to head to Texas with you to break down new episodes of this lovable Billy Bob Thornton drama. As Season 2 begins, the characters are facing many changes. Among them, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) is dead and his wife Cami (Demi Moore) is taking over M-Tex; cartel boss Jimenez (Alex Meraz) was killed by his boss Gallino (Andy Garcia); Cooper (Jacob Lofland) is trying to make his scandalous relationship with Ariana (Paulina Chavez) work as he heads off on his own to try to be an oil tycoon; and Tommy (Thornton) is promoted to have even more responsibilities at M-Tex after Monty’s death. It’s a stressful time, so let’s dive right in.

  • Between Tommy’s breakfast conspiracy lecture and mainlining coffee and cigarettes before the sun’s up, I’m worried about him having a heart attack, too!
  • There’s good music already this season — a Turnpike Troubadours needle drop not even five minutes in? Hell yeah!
  • “The mosquitoes are so big, they can fuck a turkey flat-footed.” Is it possible that’s not a folksy Texas expression but rather a horrifying reality in the South?
  • “It’s a young woman’s game here — no offense.” I’m sorry, Demi Moore made “The Substance” — you must treat her with respect or prepare to be eaten alive.
  • Cami’s speech rules, and is a great reminder of the take-no-prisoners attitude that makes this show special. “The only difference between me and Monty is I’m meaner. Test me and you’ll find out how much.” Fuck yeah!
  • How is Cooper’s first drill this successful? Another shoe has to drop on this get-rich-quick operation, right?
  • Wow, Ariana couldn’t be less excited about being an overnight multimillionaire. Why is she so cagey?
  • Angela (Ali Larter) expressing her love of grey sweatpants to her daughter, Ainsley (Michelle Randolph), is pretty gross! Will we see Tommy wearing them in a future episode?
  • Ainsley and this college counselor couldn’t be less of a fit — give me a bottle episode with these two on a road trip!
  • Shout out to Randolph, who walks a tricky line during this scene between being way over her head and disarmingly sweet. It’s hard to empathize with someone who spends the bulk of their admittance meeting babbling on about the importance of hot people having kids together, but she makes it work.
  • Oof, what a sad introduction to T.L. (Sam Elliott). Is it too soon to cry this season?
  • T.L.’s harsh rebuttal of reconnecting with his wife after he passes: “If I do, that means I’m in hell too.” Woof, we’ve got some trauma to explore soon.
  • The way the Norris women act around Cooper, you can practically smell him through the television.
  • It’s funny how quickly everyone scatters when Angela starts throwing plates during her tantrum. Bonus points to those around the table who escaped with their drinks and food in hand.
  • Tommy and Angela’s rapid, NC-17 make-up after the dinner fight proves that those two loonies are meant for each other.
  • There’s something about Thornton’s cigarette smoking that makes the ugly habit look so appealing, right?
  • Love that final shot of the sunset, mirroring Tommy to who we now know is his father, T.L., as they both search for meaning in the family matriarch’s death.

Jutes and Demi Lovato have both overcome addiction

The 33-year-old pop star and Jutes have both struggled with addiction over the years, and the 34-year-old singer has praised Demi for supporting him through his troubles.

Jutes – who married Demi earlier this year – told People: “It’s very, very helpful having the support of Demi.

“Sadly I’m like, I don’t know if I would have stuck with it if it wasn’t for her, in the beginning. It’s obviously the hardest in the beginning and there’s still times … it doesn’t ever go away. There’s still times where I’ll be out and I’m like, ‘This would be better if I wasn’t sober.’

“It does make me want to go out less now that I’m sober, but my life is just — it’s not comparable how much better it is now that I am sober.

“I mean, I love waking up early and feeding my dogs and meditating and having coffee and doing wholesome stuff and feeling good and going to the gym.”

In September, Demi explained that the “tone” of her life has become “lighter”.

The brunette beauty also explained how married life has changed her music.

Demi told PAPER magazine: “I’m not in this place in my life where I need these huge emotional ballads. The tone of my life is lighter.”

Demi believes her most-recent album is a reflection of where she’s at in her life.

She said: “I think it’s really a reflection of where I’m at personally. I’m not in this place in my life where I need these huge emotional ballads to release some sort of deep emotional trauma I’m going through.

“I realised that when I started making this project. I started writing songs like that, and they just weren’t resonating … heavy topics like that. I’m in a place in my life where my energy feels very light.

“I just got married. It was a learning curve for me to take what I’ve always known about music, which is write what you know now. I had to learn how to write what was new to me, and that’s what this album is a reflection of. The tone of my life is lighter. I wanted a project that reflected that.”

Switching things up ever so slightly (while still relying on her Gucci ambassadorship), Moore wore a pre-fall 2025 purple, blue, and red bouclé jacket and matching mini dress with calf-length heeled boots and a cream horsebit bag. It was a sweet, and as always, sophisticated styled offering. Overall? So far, so Demi.

Season two of Landman sees Moore return to her role as Texas socialite Cami Miller, alongside Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, and Andy Garcia. Her part in the first season of the gritty oil industry drama was relatively low-key, but it’s been promised that Moore will step more into the fore this time.

Demi Lovato Finds the Right Frequency on New Album » PopMatters

Demi Lovato began the promotional cycle for her seventh studio album, It’s Not That Deep, by pretending to tease an upcoming documentary. The announcement was false, revealed to be a self-mocking joke about the number of documentaries Lovato has released in the past. 

Although repetitive output becomes ripe for satire, Lovato has endured hardships worthy of documentation. In 2018, the singer experienced a near-fatal drug overdose after six years of sobriety. Additionally, while a Disney Channel star, Lovato struggled with addiction and body-image issues. “I’m sorry for the burnout,” she says on “Sorry to Myself”, an It’s Not That Deep track where she reflects on the amount of pressure placed on child stars. “Hustle culture sometimes does pay off, but it comes with a price,” Lovato said in a 2025 interview with Paper magazine. 

While snippets of It’s Not That Deep allude to the singer’s tumultuous past, most of the album stays true to its name. “Popvato is back,” said its creator, who aimed to return to the lighthearted nature of her early work. Lovato’s recent output, the albums Dancing with the Devil and Holy Fuck, explored the angst of her addiction and sobriety journey.

Produced by Zhone, a collaborator of Kesha, It’s Not That Deep is a sleek collection of club pop, with a variety of sounds that diversify a record of singular purpose. The atmospheric chorus of “Frequency” resembles Lovato’s early hits: radio pop that showcased her vocal range. However, in the post-chorus, “Frequency” transitions into an autotuned EDM haze, where Lovato claims, “No one can f*** up the vibe,” as a bass fluctuates beneath her vocals. 

The record also hits mellower notes without deviating from an upbeat sound. “Let You Go” has a sing-along chorus, but the synths throughout convey a melancholy mood. “In My Head” is a fast-paced yet ethereal attempt at moving on, with a catchy melody that distracts from its cliché lyrics. “Before I Knew You” calls back to the empowerment pop of Lovato’s first few albums but is reimagined in a breathy, confessional mode indicative of the present. 

The main pitfall of It’s Not That Deep is that it risks being derivative of Charli XCX‘s brat, 2024’s contemplative hyperpop smash. While Charli XCX used club-ready tracks to contemplate the nature of her own celebrity, Lovato uses a similar sound to argue that there is currently nothing to think about at all, hence the album’s title. However, even that assertion conveys an important change. It’s Not That Deep is a reversal of the meaning Lovato tried to create on previous records to varying degrees of success. 

In 2021, after the release of Lovato’s third documentary, The Atlantic ran an article titled: “Stars Now Understand That Their Destruction Is Our Entertainment.” By turning her life into reality television, Lovato lost the ability to control its narrative. Instead, the medium for sharing that life became its own narrative for public consumption, where fans decided that the new entry point to Lovato’s work—an investigation of heavy subjects—overshadowed the frothy pop she sang. 

It’s Not That Deep strikes a new balance between work and play, as Lovato accomplishes an adult version of the task given to her as a Disney star: providing escapism. Self-references on this album feel liberating and humorous. The music video for “Fast” features Lovato’s internet memes: snippets of interviews in which the singer made ridiculous comments that fans never forgot. By embracing the outlandishness of these moments, Lovato supports the mission of It’s Not That Deep, approaching a lighthearted task with seriousness. 

On the record’s cover, Lovato tries on a dress still wrapped from the dry cleaner. A tag on the garment reads, “We [Love] Our Customers”. Holding up the dress, Lovato stands amid a bustling crowd of young and old, referencing the cover of Billy Joel’s 1976 album, Turnstiles. To remain relatable to their audiences, pop stars must have one foot in everyday life, while turning the mundane aspects of that life into a spectacle. Completing this act requires an audience’s willful ignorance and a celebrity’s ability to manipulate reality. In this case, then, It’s Not That Deep has depth in one regard: it makes the hustle look easy, which is no small feat.

They are long, yes, but they filed with a blunted tip, which is softened by rounding off the corners, creating smooth sides (the term “squoval” is—you guessed it—a portmanteau of “square and ”oval”). Hence, they are an excellent alternative to other lengths as they’re more comfortable and wearable.

Moore’s manicure in particular is unstuffy thanks to her choice of a nude polish. The effect is more refined than any stiletto nail made up in blood red or even French tips.

Demi Lovato Announces ‘It’s Not That Deep’ North American Tour

Demi Lovato has announced her “It’s Not That Deep” North American tour, slated for spring 2026.

The singer revealed dates for the 23-city tour on the heels of releasing her ninth album of the same name. The tour, which marks her first major headlining run in three years, kicks off on April 8 at Charlotte, NC’s Spectrum Center. She’s set to make stops at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum before wrapping at Houston’s Toyota Center on May 25.

Lovato warmed up for the tour with an intimate performance on Saturday at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium, treating attendees to cuts from her latest dance-pop record as well as hits from her catalog. She plans to bring along special guest Adéla as support for the “It’s Not That Deep” tour.

Presale for the tour begins on Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. local time, and fans can sign up for access on Ticketmaster. General sale starts on Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. local time.

Demi Moore recently recalled a memorable moment with her co-star Tom Cruise during the filming of A Few Good Men. Speaking during an interview with writer Jia Tolentino at the New Yorker Festival on October 25, 2025, Moore shared that she was nearly eight months pregnant with her daughter, Scout Willis, during the film’s preproduction stage.

“I think Tom was quite embarrassed,” Moore told the audience. “I actually felt okay about it. I was moving around, though, right? But I could tell he felt that it was a bit awkward.”

The actress explained that Cruise’s reaction likely mirrored the norms of that period, when few Hollywood women were expecting children while working on major productions. At the time, Moore was one of the few leading actresses navigating both motherhood and a high-profile career, People reported.

“It’s one of the many things, for me, that I just felt didn’t make sense. And so I challenged that to say, you know, ‘Why not? Why can’t you have both?” she said. The Substance star added that she put immense pressure on herself to show women could maintain successful careers while raising families.

Moore on balancing pregnancy and acting demands

Moore admitted that she became “an overachiever” while trying to balance her pregnancy with work. “I look back at that time now, and I go, ‘What the f*** was I thinking?’” she said, reflecting on the challenges of rehearsing while heavily pregnant.

She also recalled breastfeeding and blocking scenes soon after giving birth. The actress noted that Hollywood now provides a more supportive environment for mothers, compared to the expectations she faced in the early 1990s.

Staying active before giving birth

Preparing for her role as a Navy lawyer in A Few Good Men, Moore stayed unusually active during her pregnancy. The Ghost star said she anticipated too much while trying to work out and get into a military uniform. “I did a two-and-a-half-hour hike the day my water broke, a 24-mile bike ride, and danced at a reggae club, hence why she came two-and-a-half weeks early,” the Indecent Proposal actress explained.

Moore added that she is proud that younger actresses no longer need to “prove themselves” the way she once felt she had to, saying the industry now allows women to embrace both motherhood and ambition without guilt.

Lovato’s Mayhem mashup comes just two days before the singer releases her latest album, It’s Not That Deep, out this Friday. Lovato previously previewed the 11-track album with the lead singles “Fast” and “Here All Night,” both club-ready records that choose dancing over deep dives. “So proud of all the work I’ve done,” she shared on Instagram, “and now, it’s time to celebrate and have some fun!!!”

Max Ehrich made headlines in 2020 when he got engaged to pop star Demi Lovato after just a few months of dating. He’s an Actor, Singer & Performer

Born on June 24, 1991, in Marlboro Township, New Jersey, Ehrich grew up performing from a young age. He’s best known for playing Fenmore Baldwin on The Young and the Restless, a role that earned him multiple Daytime Emmy nominations. Over the years, he’s appeared in popular shows like Under the Dome, iCarly, Law & Order: SVU, and Netflix’s Walk. Ride. Rodeo. Outside of acting, Ehrich is a singer-songwriter who has released several singles, including “Ride” and “Backroads.”

He Once Had a Role in ‘High School Musical 3’

Before becoming known for soap operas, Ehrich appeared as a background dancer in High School Musical 3: Senior Year. He’s mentioned in past interviews that it was one of his first experiences on a major film set and inspired him to keep pursuing acting.

He also had a two episode arc on Shake It Up back in 2010 alongside Zendaya and Bella Thorne.

He Was Once Engaged to Demi Lovato

Ehrich first made headlines in 2020 when he began dating Lovato. Eagle-eyed followers first spotted flirty exchanges between the two on social media, sparking rumors that they were self-isolating together at the start of the pandemic. On March 24, 2020, Max shared Instagram Stories of himself snuggling with Demi’s dogs, Batman and Ella, and later went live on Instagram—only for Demi to accidentally walk into the frame. When she realized he was filming, she ran out of the shot laughing as Max quickly ended the livestream.

The chemistry between the two quickly turned into a whirlwind romance, and just four months later, Ehrich proposed. However, their engagement ended that September, only two months after the proposal. The split became public when Ehrich claimed he learned about it through tabloids rather than directly from Demi, which led to a media frenzy.

He was taken into custody on October 7 and released the next day after posting $1,000 bail. While few details about the alleged incident have been released, the arrest drew widespread attention due to his emotional online behavior surrounding the event.

In the hours before his arrest, Ehrich’s social media activity alarmed fans. He went live multiple times on Instagram, appearing distressed and posting cryptic messages such as “My heart is broken.” At one point, he even shared what appeared to be his mother’s phone number. During one of the livestreams, his mother could be seen in the background, which added to speculation about his well-being. The emotional posts and unpredictable activity led many fans and observers to call for him to seek help and step back from social media.

We had High School Musical 3, Halloweentown High and Descendants 3, so where’s Camp Rock 3? Now more than ever, millennial and Gen-Z Disney Channel fans are calling for a third installment to the musical film franchise that starred Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas, alongside their co-stars Alyson Stoner, Nick Jonas, Kevin Jonas and several more.

Nearly five years after Demi said they and the JoBros fell out of touch with one another, she surprised fans at the siblings’ Greetings From Your Hometown Tour in August 2025. The “29” artist belted out her and Joe’s hit duets “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” from Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. 

While it’s expected for social media to blow up over a huge reunion like this, Demi’s husband, Jordan “Jute$” Lutes, may have nudged the Camp Rock 3 rumors a little more with one simple comment. So, is Disney making another Camp Rock sequel?

When Did Joe Jonas Date Demi Lovato?

Demi and Joe confirmed that they only dated for about a month after meeting on the set of Camp Rock. At the time, the “La La Land” artist was battling addiction issues along with the struggles that come with rising fame at a young age.

Despite breaking up, Demi and Joe remained friends and performed together over the years. She also stayed close friends with his brother Nick until she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2020 that the “only one” she still talked to from her Disney Channel days was Miley Cyrus — not the Jonas Brothers.

Are They Making a Camp Rock 3?

At the moment, there has been no official word from Disney of a Camp Rock 3. So, for now, it’s pure speculation among fans. Cast member Alyson was even asked about a third installment earlier this year, and she noted there wasn’t anything in the works.

“I haven’t heard about Camp Rock 3, but you want to know how I heard about Phineas and Ferb‘s new season? From the internet,” Alyson told People in June 2025. “It wouldn’t be the first time. I truly cannot confirm or deny anything. They haven’t given me a ring.”

However, Demi’s husband may have ruffled some feathers after Demi and Joe reunited on stage in August 2025. After Demi shared a video of their and Joe’s performance, Jute$ commented, “Movie” with three clapping emojis. Not only that, but Demi even shared a recap Instagram Video of her evening with the Jonas Brothers, and she captioned the post, “Mitchie is back.”

Weeks later, Joe and his brothers appeared in “Hot Ones Versus,” and Joe seemingly confirmed that a third Camp Rock was possible. He was asked to read aloud the last reminder from his Notes app, which indicated, “Read Camp Rock 3. … Sorry, Disney.”

In September, the Jonas Brothers and Demi were seemingly spotted on what appeared to be a film set. She then appeared on Watch What Happens Live to dish on what she knew about Camp Rock‘s future.

“And is Camp Rock 3 happening? Um, you know, I saw that Joe said something, and I’m really excited for the new generation to take the lead, and yeah, you’ll just have to wait and see,” Demi teased, playing it coy. Shortly thereafter, Joe shared an Instagram video of him, Nick and Kevin recreating the iconic, “I’m Shane Gray, for crying out loud,” scene on what appeared to be an outdoor set.

Are Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas Still Friends?

Though they appeared to have lost touch with each other years ago, it seems that Demi and Nick are still friends. The two hugged on stage after Demi and Joe belted out their Camp Rock songs.
