Gorilla3PL Delivers “seamless” event fulfilment for Holy Moly’s nationwide summer activation

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

As all-natural dip brand Holy Moly celebrates its new status as the UK’s No.1 dips brand by unit sales, the success of its ambitious summer activation tour has been highlighted by the brand, praising the “seamless” support from its event fulfilment partner, Gorilla3PL.

Holy Moly’s team commended the logistics specialist for its work on the brand’s nationwide guacamole sampling tour.

“Andy and the team have done a sterling job this summer,” said Peter Oden, Managing Director at Holy Moly. “They have been super responsive and gone above and beyond to deliver a seamless season of events.”

Gorilla3PL was appointed to manage the complete logistics for the complex UK-wide tour. The operation involved specialist warehousing, stock management, and time-critical, temperature-controlled delivery of Holy Moly’s fresh products and point-of-sale materials to numerous locations.

Andy Gregorek, Founder and MD of Gorilla3PL, commented: “We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Holy Moly. For a fresh product like theirs, there is zero margin for error. Our team’s focus was entirely on ensuring every single sample, at every location, was delivered perfectly to support the brand’s activation. It was a complex project with numerous moving parts, and the team truly stepped up to the challenge. We’re thrilled to receive such positive feedback and to have played our part in their successful summer campaign.”

The successful summer campaign comes as Holy Moly, a certified B Corp, was named the UK’s No. 1 dip brand. According to the latest NielsenIQ data, shoppers have bought more pots of Holy Moly than any other brand in the last 12 weeks.

“I am thrilled for the team at Holy Moly, achieving a B Corp certification of 94.5 is an amazing achievement for a brand and, as a supplier, we are taking inspiration from their efforts in order to support those sustainability aims wherever we can,” concluded Gregorek.

Court Delivers Ruling On Appeal Request

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Looks like the courts had something to say about Tory Lanez’s latest move — and Megan Thee Stallion’s name is right in the mix. After months of legal back-and-forth, new court documents obtained by journalist Meghann Cuniff reveal a major update in his ongoing case. The court just made a key decision regarding his effort to challenge his previous convictions and sentence — and let’s just say, it’s not the outcome some were expecting.

Court Says “No” To Tory’s Appeal

After months of silence surrounding one of hip-hop’s most talked-about cases, a major update has hit the timeline — and it’s not the news Tory Lanez was hoping for. According to new court documents obtained by journalist Meghann Cuniff, the California Court of Appeals has officially denied Tory Lanez’s request to overturn his felony convictions and 10-year prison sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

“On appeal, Peterson contends the trial court committed a number of errors. We find no prejudicial error and, accordingly, affirm Peterson’s conviction,” reveals court documents.

In the appeal, Lanez’s legal team argued that he was unfairly convicted and sought a new trial, but the judges didn’t see it that way. After reviewing his claims, the court decided to uphold the original ruling, meaning Tory will continue serving the 10-year sentence he received back in August 2023. This decision adds yet another twist to the long-running case that’s divided fans and dominated headlines. Lanez has continued to maintain his innocence from behind bars, while Megan has seemingly moved forward — staying booked, busy, and focused on her music.

The TL Had A WHOLE Lot To Say

When the news hit, Roommates wasted no time sprinting to The Shade Room’s comment section, and the reactions were all over the place. Some were celebrating the update, glad to know Tory isn’t getting out anytime soon, while others stood ten toes down, demanding his release ASAP. Meanwhile, a few folks couldn’t resist cracking jokes — saying it’s clear some people still don’t understand how Cali gun laws really work.

One Instagram user @bliteindian said, “Megan I live for sh like this. Don’t let up girlll. Justiceeee, oh how I love Justice 💞”

This Instagram user @caplikejas shared, “😭 I wonder why he won’t hire one of his IG warriors to represent him“

And, Instagram user @kilow_theexplorer said, “Tory your day will come. 🙏🏾”

Meanwhile, Instagram user @transvilla420 wrote, “No headaches for Klay Thompson for the next 10 years 😊”

While Instagram user @sinnamen_success added, “Obviously y’all don’t understand California gvn laws… 🤦🏽‍♀️”

Then Instagram user @luvvlychai said, “That’s not Megan case… it was him vs THE STATE! He went to jail for possession of a weapon.“

And, Instagram user @red.pace wrote, “Tory, please. They are not freeing you, you did it. Learn a new trade while you’re inside, pick up a hobby. We’ll see you in 10.“

Instagram user @carolinetania claimed, “No he deserves to be free 😢”

Lastly, Instagram user @alyshabattle commented, “Proof isn’t good enough for some of y’all!!“

Tory’s Dad Says His Son Is Coming Home…Soon

Tory Lanez’s father doesn’t appear to be stopping his push for his son’s release. During a sit-down with POWER 106 back in July, Sonstar Peterson opened up about Tory’s incarceration and dropped some bold claims about what’s happening behind the scenes. When asked about a possible release date, he kept things vague, saying he wouldn’t “go on record” but hinted that “movements [were] happening in the background” and that the so-called powers that be could see “this was a hatched job.” Sonstar insisted Tory’s return home was coming “much sooner than…people think.”

At the time, fans were already buzzing about alleged inconsistencies in the case — from conflicting witness statements to questions surrounding gun residue evidence. Sonstar’s confidence made it clear he believed Tory’s legal team was still fighting to overturn his conviction. However, Megan Thee Stallion’s camp quickly shut down any talk of new evidence, making it clear that, as far as they’re concerned, the case was closed.

First Sight Media delivers a video masterpiece to mark CTPA’s 80th Anniversary

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Content creation and streaming agency, First Sight Media, has partnered with the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA) to create the association’s video content for its 80th Anniversary, celebrating eight decades of championing the cosmetics and personal care industry in the UK.

The centrepiece of this ambitious content project is an anniversary movie, “A Story That We Share”, which premiered at the CTPA’s Anniversary Dinner at 8 Northumberland Avenue, London. The movie showcases the organisation’s rich legacy, core values, and the voices of its members, partners and stakeholders.

Produced by First Sight Media, the video weaves together compelling interviews, stakeholder testimonials, dynamic animation, and professionally voiced narration.

The content has also been strategically repurposed into a ‘Collection’ of shorter video clips entitled ‘What Our Members Say’, showcasing CTPA’s work and contribution on various themes through the words of CTPA members themselves.

“We had a vision for this special Anniversary year, that involved bringing together many voices amongst our members, stakeholders and partners, to capture the ethos and spirit of CTPA’s work throughout the years and looking ahead. An exciting but complex project! First Sight Media’s technical expertise and all-round professionalism made this journey a delight. We’re immensely proud of what we’ve created with them,” said Héloïse Prieur, communications and marketing manager at CTPA.

The collaboration began in December 2024, with filming taking place into 2025. First Sight Media coordinated shoots across multiple London locations to meet the demanding schedules of the CTPA’s Board members and stakeholders. Post-production, including editing, animation, and voiceover work, was completed in April, with the final film ready for debut in summer 2025.

“We were honoured to help articulate how CTPA has been at the heart of their industry for 80 years – through the power of video,” explained Rich Belcher, MD of First Sight Media.

The movie reflects not only the Association’s rich legacy, but also the ongoing excellence that defines both CTPA and the wider cosmetics and personal care industry. It highlights the industry’s essential role in promoting wellbeing, its commitment to safety, quality, trust, and passion, driven by science and innovation.

“The result included a timeline of the industry’s development, showing how CTPA has been there to guide, lead and influence the industry in its 80 years. To show the diversity of membership, we then captured testimonials and interviews with members. Although there were set questions, the range of answers told a fresh and unique perspective, which we were able to integrate to create a movie that is both personal, inspiring and informative,” concluded Belcher.

The Anniversary movie can be watched on CTPA’s website here: Celebrating 80 Years.

Naked Eyes’ 1983 Debut Delivers Sincerity in an Ironic World » PopMatters

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Before Tears for Fears ruled the world, there was Neon. The short-lived British new wave group included Tears for Fears‘ Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal, along with two men who would go on to form their own hyper-synthesized 1980s act: Pete Byrne and Rob Fisher, founders of Naked Eyes.

When Neon split in 1981, both duos carved their respective legacies in the emotive pop landscape and helped build the 1980s’ reputation as a decade of artistic sincerity. Naked Eyes made their mark via their debut collection Burning Bridges (1983)—known as Naked Eyes in the US—and Tears for Fears with The Hurting (1983) and Songs from the Big Chair (1985).

Where Tears for Fears are well remembered, though, Naked Eyes only blip into recollection whenever their grandiose cover of “Always Something There to Remind Me” rockets onto the airwaves. The extravagant single and its companion, “Promises, Promises”, marked vibrant threads in the colorful 1980s pop tapestry, but is Burning Bridges any good as an album?

The answer is more of a “Yes, but” than a definitive “Yea” or “Nay” when taken as a whole. Measured against the usual characteristics of sonic craftsmanship, lyrics, and cultural impact, Burning Bridges falls a bit short. When considered for its clear-eyed approach to matters of the heart, though, it’s a captivating collection worth remembering and celebrating, especially in the age of “cringe culture” (more on that later).

Naked Eyes – “Always Something There to Remind Me”

It doesn’t hurt that the album’s singles are far from its only sonic gems. Each track boasts unique melodies, sounds, and synthpop hooks that resonate in the mind for days on end. Stylish yet never soulless, Burning Bridges is painted in brushstrokes of bright sincerity and emotionally charged instrumentation, lending every hook heart and every vocal a romantic candor.

Without these spirited performances, however, the record’s lyrics would crumble into clichés. Eloquence is not Burning Bridges‘ strong suit. Its songs cling to a thin scaffolding of ideas surrounding romance and interpersonal dynamics, but never build on it.

Indeed, many better songs have explored these topics. Shimmering synths and drum machine swagger fail to fully elevate lyrics like “I knew I would find / You’d be a very hard act to follow… Love is hard to follow / It’s such a very hard act to follow” in “A Very Hard Act to Follow”. In “I Could Show You How”, another substantial earworm suffering lyrical malnourishment, most of the lyrics are repetitions of the title.

If one can’t feast on nutritious philosophy or soul-food poetry—”Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way” is more Pink Floyd‘s style than Naked Eyes’—at least the music itself offers plenty of lovingly crafted brain candy.

Burning Bridges might be one of the most 1980s-sounding 1980s albums of all time. It doesn’t restrain any of its synthesizer glory with its many vivid bursts of sound and sonic tinkering. (A challenge: Count how many times you hear a pop bass throughout the collection.) One reason each track is so individualistic yet cohesive with the album’s style is Naked Eyes’ earnest, child-like approach to their instruments.

“I Could Show You How” opens with crystalline electronic bells and an assertive synthetic bass line that suggests Naked Eyes had fun teasing this intro into existence in the studio. Throughout the track, multiple synths, from bouncy to bright and high-pitched, weave a glittering web around the vocals. The result is a delightful, infectious smorgasbord of sounds akin to New Order‘s sonic play on “Blue Monday” or “Bizarre Love Triangle”.

“Could Be” anticipates the gloom of the not-yet-realized Disintegration (1989)-era Cure, fusing moody mystique with sophistication in a surprise saxophone solo. Where lyrics often fall short, the sax and dark synths exude sensual intrigue.

“When the Lights Go Out” opens on similar notes to “Always Something There to Remind Me” but remains its own distinct creation. The latter is textbook ebullience, all smiling synths, romantic giddiness, and cinematic grandeur boiling over its brisk tempo, while the former scales back into a relaxed, late-afternoon groover.

The record’s ultimate highlight, though, is “Promises, Promises”. Seeing as its sibling single is a cover, “Promises” is Burning Bridges‘ strongest original pop piece and a jewel in the broader 1980s hit pantheon. The US single version lands with more immediate vigor, but the original retains a 30-second intro, lower pitch, and flourishes of British flavor: “Now you’re saying you and me / Are not your style or cup of tea.”

The track’s irresistibly danceable beat, dashes of trusty pop bass, and catchy refrain ensure “Promises, Promises” fulfills its promise as a single that is both entertaining and memorable. On an already slickly produced album where every player pulls its musical weight, it still manages to poke its head far enough above its brethren to maintain a longer lease on listeners’ mental real estate.

Naked Eyes – When the Lights Go Out

It’s fortunate that Naked Eyes didn’t neglect their sonic craft and understood that in pop music, feelings come first. Otherwise, their debut would’ve been nothing to write home about. Clever lyrics elevate the cerebral listening experience, but Burning Bridges‘ compositional strengths prove they’re not always strictly necessary. A great pop song is a wonderful thing. A feeling spawned from sound is its own miracle.

If a song is only its lyrics, it is not a song but a pretty passage in a storybook. If it is both lyrically and musically brilliant, it may be a masterpiece. If beautiful in sound only, it is good enough because it achieves music’s core purpose: to spark the soul.

Burning Bridges represents an era in popular entertainment when that purpose was central and well-received. Films from the 1980s were similarly sentimental—think The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally (1989), and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). Top Gun (1986) even flexed its romantic side in the relationship between Lieutenant Pete Mitchell (Tom Cruise) and “Charlie” (Kelly McGillis), whose love theme, “Take My Breath Away”, flies as high on its feelings as the fighter jets on Cold War tensions.

Nowadays, this sincerity often evokes a sneering discomfort. If the 1980s were maximalist in terms of emotions and hairstyles, the 2020s pride themselves on minimalism and a detached, ironic sense of “cool”. It’s branded as protection against embarrassment, but it doesn’t allow for authentic character development or truly fulfilling relationships, either with others or oneself.

Generation Z, the latest cohort to join the workforce, considers caring “cringy”. “Sincere effort and ambition have become socially risky behaviors,” says Forbes, and it’s affecting everything from online behaviors to Generation Z’s ability to hold down a job. This generation is the present and future; if anything should be done to improve either, caring will be required.

Naked Eyes – “Voices in My Head”

Naked Eyes didn’t reinvent the wheel with Burning Bridges, and one album’s earnestness won’t turn back the tides of cultural apathy. However, they created a product that embodies the best of the time in which it was made, qualities now pushed aside to embrace an all-around grayscale culture that is also impacting today’s musicians.

Ariana Grande shared her frustrations with “cringe culture” and how disappointing it is that sincerity “scares people”. “Why do you want me to be sitting here numb? Been there.” One statement from her interview captures the heart of the 1980s, and Burning Bridges, with perfect clarity: “I’m so grateful to feel so much.”

Naked Eyes didn’t deliver technical genius or life-altering social commentary in their debut album, but they did offer listeners emotional honesty in an era when that was a prized commodity. It’s an age that sensitive, serious people miss now. As social media, consumerism, and rage-baiting hollow out humanity’s collective core, Burning Bridges reads like a restoration of truth.

It’s a thoughtful record in its own right. Its immersive, instantly transportive atmosphere recalls the crest of the new wave era and holds the collection far above its one weakness.

Lively, gleaming, and a touch eccentric in that endearing 1980s way, Burning Bridges is a good album for new wave fans who, when reflecting on our ironic modern world, can’t help waxing nostalgic for the sincerity of the past—a time when the emotionality of pop was regarded as sacred.

Oday Rasheed Delivers Mood Over Story

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

A cascading mood of melancholy that fails to ever snap into a proper tragedy, “If You See Something” may not manage to say all that much about the persistent post-9/11 biases facing refugees from the Middle East in the United States, but director Oday Rasheed (“Underexposure”) takes an admirable swing with his latest narrative feature, delivering a warm-yet-despondent portrait of a couple pushing their allegiance to its absolute limit against the backdrop of a kidnapping scheme they can’t be sure is real.

It begins with Katie (Jess Jacobs) and her boyfriend Ali (Adam Bakri) driving down a busy New York City street as their artist friend Dawod (Haddi Tabbal) monologues in the backseat. Both Ali and Dawod are from Baghdad, and the latter is remembering a car bombing they narrowly missed thanks to his friend’s intuition back home. Ali couldn’t have known he was saving Dawod’s life by not wanting to take a turn into traffic that day, but Dawod has never forgotten it, and he repeats the story with awe. Feeling indebted to someone for something they did in the past is classic fairytale fodder, but “If You See Something” expands that facile idea into a modern meditation on taking hard actions in the name of love, romantic or otherwise.

Elle Fanning in Predator: Badlands

Co-written by Jacobs and the late Avram Nobel Ludwig, this scrappy indie hits on important political themes at a critical time for immigrants in the United States. Katie and Ali are deeply committed to each other by all accounts, but they’re not getting married to secure Ali a green card. He’s a doctor — and not just “back in Iraq,” as evidenced by the compulsion he feels to perform illegal eye surgery on a little girl in a new country that has yet to legitimize his medical expertise. Ali is the kind of man who does the right thing even against his own interest, and watching him endure a tone-deaf interview with an American bureaucrat stings.

‘If You See Something’

“Of my five best friends from childhood, four of them are dead,” his asylum application reads. In the room, the U.S. agent insists Ali specify how each person passed. Air attack. Car bomb. Shot by American soldiers. Suicide. Juxtaposed with Ali practicing his own identity aloud before facing the stranger who will determine is future (“I am a doctor, I am a doctor, I am a doctor,” he repeats), the scene should be recognizable to anyone familiar with the practices of Homeland Security — simmering injustices and all.

That’s an extraordinary circumstance for dating, and the prospect of standing by your significant other while the government decides if they’re “illegal” could merit a movie all its own. Art curator Katie walks through a brutal scene that looks like one of Dawod’s installations bringing the wreckage in Baghdad to life for New Yorkers. But a similar scene later in the film suggests Ali walking into a flashback from his own life, and Rasheed smartly keeps the distant nightmare these characters think they know and the one unfolding before them in surreal territory.

“He’s not a local, he lives here,” Katie spits back at her quietly bigoted family when they ask for Ali’s opinion on a conflict from which he’s thousands of miles removed. The moment recalls the core dynamic from Jordan Peele’s “Get Out,” and Reed Birney’s performance as the racist dad has Bradley Whitford written all over it. But this isn’t so much a horror movie as it is a modern myth, and the threat of ICE hangs over Ali like an ever-more menacing Sword of Damocles. When the good doctor gets word that Dawod has been kidnapped back in Baghdad, his dream life with Katie slips away like sand. Dawod’s captors are asking $250,000 for his release, and Ali doesn’t have that. Katie might.

‘If You See Something’

The role radicalized white women have played in terrorism is fertile ground for a film, but Rasheed takes the opposite tact here, painting Katie as an earnest and devoted partner deciding whether she can take this leap of faith with Ali. That’s a solid dramatic question, but one that might’ve been more productive as an inciting incident, as too much of this low-budget drama shuffles around subjects that demand incisive action in 2025, effectively creating a subtle irony that undermines the film’s own point. What’s worse, the acting doesn’t land the gut-punch you’d hope; Jacobs struggles especially.

And yet “If You See Something” remains urgent in spite of its flaws. Rasheed is known for his guerilla-style filmmaking, and his 2005 docudrama “Underexposure” is widely credited as the first feature to be shot in Baghdad after the start of the Iraq War. At a time when immigrant voices are being diminished in the Western world and the United States’ role in shaping international affairs is being fundamentally reconsidered across the globe, the director’s latest film provides further — if imperfect — proof of how crucial it is to hear from the artists whose communities have been most directly impacted by America’s post-9/11 approach to foreign policy. Even lacking in some respects, this movie’s wide release demands respect, and it promises that resistance to the current administration is percolating all around us, whether we can see it at work or not.

Grade: C+

“If You See Something” is now playing in limited release, and will open in theaters nationwide on Friday, November 14.

Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” Music Video Delivers Glam

by jummy84 October 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Taylor Swift’s new music video for “The Fate of Ophelia” made its official premiere in movie theaters as part of the weirdly reverential The Official Release Party of a Showgirl. But now, you can see her full vision for the leadoff track from The Life of a Showgirl on YouTube, accompanied by 11 lyric videos for the album’s remaining songs.

The music video, written and directed by Swift (it says so in big letters at the end) showcases Swift embodying “showgirl” personas from across various points in history, including a pirate wench, a star of Busby Berkeley-esque musicals, and more tragic heroines.

During The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, Swift revealed that the video featured a happy reunion of the dancers who appeared on stage during The Eras Tour, as well as choreography by the renowned Mandy Moore and cinematography by Rodrigo Prieto, a four-time Oscar nominee for films including Brokeback Mountain and Killers of the Flower Moon. Also, it’s very important to know that the loaf of bread featured in one shot of this video was baked by Taylor herself.

Related Video

Swift’s 12th album sold 2.7 million copies in just the first 24 hours of its release. Our own Wren Graves, in his review, compared it to “a breathless vent to a friend, with alternating spurts of warmth, nostalgia, anxious searching, and teeth-baring sneers.”

‘Peacemaker’ Episode 6 Delivers ‘Superman’ Cameo, Confirms Fan Theory About Alternate Dimension

by jummy84 September 26, 2025
written by jummy84

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 6, “Ignorance Is Chris.”]

Peacemaker Season 2 delivered its biggest cameo yet as Episode 6, “Ignorance Is Chris,” made way for the inclusion of a major Superman character.

As fans have seen this season, quite a few characters from the blockbuster film cameo onscreen in Peacemaker, which creator James Gunn told TV Insider, “It is a continuation of Superman, but it’s also for adults.” A retcon moment from Season 1’s finale replaced the former Snyderverse Justice League with Gunn’s Justice Gang, which included Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), and Mr. Terrific (Edi Gathegi) alongside new Superman, David Corenswet, and Supergirl, Milly Alcock.

And both Green Lantern and Hawk Girl appeared alongside billionaire funder Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn) in Peacemaker‘s Season 2 premiere as Peacemaker (John Cena) auditioned for the Justice Gang. But Episode 6 made way for the most major and secretive of cameos with Nicholas Hoult as Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) paid a visit to the villainous Lex Luthor at Belle Reve Prison.

In the scene, Rick asked Lex for his help to track down Peacemaker and explained the concerns around dimensional rifts. Lex was rather sarcastic in his reception of the general as he greeted him, “General Flag, what an unexpected delight. Last time I saw you, you were denying that metahumans were a threat. And now it seems they’re taking over the world.”

HBO Max

As fans may recall, a lot of Lex’s actions in Superman revolved around outlawing metahuman activity and othering them in society, due in part because of his hatred towards his least favorite metahuman, Superman. According to Lex’s words, he’d been sentenced to 265 years in prison, and Rick offered to have him transferred somewhere without metahumans if he assisted in locating Peacemaker.

“Being goofy is no threat,” Lex argued when he learned that Peacemaker was merely a human vigilante without advanced abilities. But Rick pushed for the information and offered a mutually beneficial prospect, as he described this assistance as “an opportunity for redemption.”

Ultimately, Lex cooperated offscreen, but when Rick returned to the waiting area of the prison, he revealed to Sasha (Sol Rodriguez) that they’re now working with Lex Luthor. What that entails is for viewers to uncover as Season 2 continues to unfold.

In the meantime, the fan theory that Peacemaker’s alternate dimension was an all-white world devoid of diversity was proven accurate in Episode 6’s final moments as Adebayo (Danielle Brooks) tried to take a walk around the neighborhood after she and Economos (Steve Agee) cleaned up around Peacemaker’s home. The last minutes of the episode saw her surrounded by various neighbors as they ran toward her, and she, in turn, ran for her life.

At A.R.G.U.S., Peacemaker, and the regular dimension’s Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) uncovered the truth about the world as the American flag on someone’s desk unfurled, revealing a swastika instead of stars. What will happen next? Tune in next week to find out, and let us know what you thought of these shocking reveals in the comments section.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation Delivers Relief Kits, Supplies To 1,500 Families Affected By Punjab Floods

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Shah Rukh Khan’s charitable organisation, the Meer Foundation, has stepped up to provide vital assistance to families affected by the recent devastating floods in Punjab. In partnership with local NGOs, the foundation has launched a comprehensive relief effort, reaching 1,500 households across districts, including Amritsar, Patiala, Fazilka, and Firozpur.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation Sends Relief To 1500 Punjab Floods-Affected Families

The aid packages comprise essential medicines, hygiene items, food supplies, mosquito nets, tarpaulins, foldable beds, cotton mattresses, and other critical necessities. This initiative aims to address immediate health and safety needs while also supporting long-term rebuilding efforts, helping families restore their lives with dignity.

Celebrities Responding To Flood Relief In Punjab

Punjab is facing one of its most severe flood crises in recent history, with rising waters from the Beas, Satluj, Ravi, and Ghaggar rivers displacing thousands. The disaster has sparked an outpouring of support from the entertainment and sports communities, with many celebrities contributing resources for relief and recovery.

Salman Khan’s Being Human sent 5 lifeboats to rescue the affected families. Akshay Kumar has committed Rs 5 crore, calling his contribution “seva” rather than charity. Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has donated 10 boats to assist rescue efforts, while his wife Geeta Basra has been actively distributing supplies on the ground.

Punjabi artist and actor Ammy Virk is working to reconstruct 200 homes for displaced families, even postponing the release of his upcoming film. Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has adopted 10 villages in the Majha region, focusing on sustainable solutions like solar power and essential supplies for long-term rehabilitation. Sonu Sood has urged his followers to donate generously, with his sister Malvika leading on-the-ground relief activities.

What Happened In The Punjab Floods?

The floods in Punjab in 2025 began intensely in late August, between August 26 and 29, triggered by heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir that caused the rivers Sutlej, Beas, Ravi, and Ghaggar to overflow. This resulted in flooding in districts such as Ferozepur, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, and Kapurthala, submerging farmland and homes. By August 29, more than 1,000 villages were submerged. The situation worsened in early September due to continuous rainfall and controlled releases from dams, affecting all 23 districts. This has been described as the most severe flood in Punjab since 1988.

LE SSERAFIM Delivers ‘HOT’ Performance as ‘AGT’ Reveals Semifinalists

Trust LE SSERAFIM to crank the heat.

The South Korean girl group strutted their stuff on the America’s Got Talent stage Wednesday night (Sept. 10), for a two-song showcase.

The pop outfit took a pause from the US leg of their EASY CRAZY HOT world tour for a breezy, three-minute medley of “HOT” (English version) and “ANTIFRAGILE.”

Afterwards, bandmate Huh Yunjin took the mic to share some advice for the AGT hopefuls. “Whatever the outcome, it’s all a part of you,” she remarked. “So what matters is the passion that brought you here. I hope that that stays with you forever. We’re all rooting for you. You guys are so talented and it’s been an honour to share the stage with you.”

Earlier this year, the ensemble scored its second No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart as HOT debuted atop the tally. That feat marked LE SSERAFIM’s fifth top 10 in total for the group, which previously reached No. 1 with its last chart entry, 2024’s Crazy.

A sixth top 10 might not be far off. New music is said to be coming next month.

While LE SSERAFIM turned up the temperature, ten AGT performers were already sweating on the results of the final Quarterfinal.

After Tuesday night’s live round, America voted, the results were tallied, and tonight, the winners and eliminations were confirmed.

Of the eleven acts, seven would go home and the top three would advance to the Semifinal.

Those top three acts are Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir, TT Boys and Zak Mirz, respectively, all of whom stay in the competition. As previously reported, Team Recycled head direct to the Finals after winning Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer.

The podium finishers will compete with eight others that moved ahead in NBC’s talent show via America’s vote in the previous quarterfinals. They are Chris Turner, Jessica Sanchez, Sirca Marea, Jourdan Blue, LightWire, Bay Melnick Virgolino, Leo High School Choir, and Unreal Crew.

Next up, the Semifinal on Tuesday, Sept. 16 and the chance to nab the Semifinal Golden Buzzer.
The winner of AGT, now in its 20th season, wins a $1 million grand prize.
