Interview | Sara Ali Khan on dealing with trolling: ‘When it gets personal, I try not to let it in’

For Sara Ali Khan, life in the spotlight comes with its fair share of scrutiny – and she’s learned to take it in her stride. The actor admits that facing constant trolling and criticism isn’t easy, especially when it turns personal or seems aimed at tearing her down. But over time, Sara says she’s developed mental filters that help her block out the noise and focus on what truly matters.

Sara Ali Khan was most recently seen in projects such as Sky Force and Metro… In Dino.

On dealing with trolling

Sara, the daughter of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, made her Bollywood debut in 2018 with Kedarnath, opposite the late Sushant Singh Rajput. She went on to feature in a range of films including Rohit Shetty’s Simmba alongside Ranveer Singh, Coolie No. 1, Atrangi Re, and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.

In an industry driven by public opinion, facing constant criticism and trolling is far from easy.

“It’s definitely not easy when you’re a public figure, opinions come at you from all directions, invited or not. But over time, I’ve learned to build a bit of a mental filter,” Sara tells us when asked if she has made a mental filter to separate constructive criticism about your work from destructive noise or trolling.

The 30-year-old continues, “It’s definitely not easy when you’re a public figure, opinions come at you from all directions, invited or not. But over time, I’ve learned to build a bit of a mental filter. I remind myself that constructive criticism is about the work and it helps me grow, learn, and improve. I really value that.”

“But when it gets personal, or when the intention feels like it’s to bring you down rather than lift you up, I try not to let it in. I’ve realised that not everyone knows you, and not everyone needs to. What matters most is staying connected to who I am, my values, my intentions, and the people who know me off-screen,” says Sara, who endorses ITC Fiama brand.

Here, Sara admits that there are days when it all affects her, and she embraces that emotion too. In fact, she looks at her family to find her calm.

“Honestly, as a human, some days things affect me more than I’d like. And that’s okay. But I always come back to my work, my family, my routine, my friends and things that keep me real and rooted. At the end of the day, if you’re proud of the work you’re doing and growing along the way, that’s what truly matters,” asserts the actor.

On allowing herself to other emotions

Sara is known for her vibrant and positive public persona, but she insists there’s no pressure to constantly appear cheerful. The actor admits she allows herself to have off days and even indulge in what she calls her “mini-drama” moments.

“I am at most times, high energy, but trust me, I have my off days too! We are all human, but I’ve learned it’s totally okay to feel anxious and sad,” she says.

What’s her strategy? “Well, I let myself have a mini drama moment, vent to my diary or friends, binge a comfort show, and then get back to sparkling. Life’s more fun when you don’t bottle up your emotions, and honestly, it makes the happy moments feel even sweeter,” adds Sara, who was most recently seen in projects such as Sky Force and Metro… In Dino.

Shaq Checks On Kobe Bryant’s Mom ‘Once A Month’: ‘She Has A Lot Of Pain She’s Dealing With’

Shaquille O’Neal is doing what he can to make sure #KobeBryant’s loved ones are all good.

The retired #NBA star shared with PEOPLE that he checks on #Kobe’s mother, Pamela Bryant, “once a month” to support her through her grief. Shaq, who won three championships alongside Kobe during their time on the #Lakers, said that Kobe would often check in on his family before passing in 2020.

The 53-year-old mentioned that he also maintains close contact with Kobe’s sisters, Sharia and Shaya. Shaq expressed:

“Their mom has been through a lot in a couple of years, and that takes a toll, and sometimes you just need somebody to just call to check on you.”

As reported, Kobe’s father passed last July. Touching on that, Shaq continued,

“I kind of know what it feels like with the passing of her son, but I don’t know what it feels like to lose a son and a husband, so I’m sure she has a lot of pain that she’s dealing with.”

He added:

“I just try to make her smile. I just try to do whatever I can, because I know it’s tough.”

EXCLUSIVE: Kritika Kamra On Dealing With Social Media Trolls

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

In today’s age, social media trolling is very common, especially for actors; Kritika Kamra revealed how she dealt with one such incident. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the Gyaarah Gyaarah actress recalled her Independence Day social media post receiving negative comments. She recalled the post becoming a political debate and discussion. Scroll down to read below and watch the interview.

When asked about dealing with social media trolls, Kritika Kamra said, “Kabhi-kabhi jab mujhe bahut feel hota hai toh main bol deti hoon. But I wish ki main aur detail mein ya aur ek constructive baat keh paati, ya kisi se online kar paati. Kyunki log bina baat ke polarised ho chuke hain. Matlab jo bahut normal cheezein bhi humein lagti hain, woh bhi ab polarised ho jaati hain. Maine Twitter pe Independence Day post kiya tha. And I generally don’t read, but it was pointed out to me. So I saw the comments below it.”

The actress continued, “People were offended, but it’s something very normal. Ki jin ideals pe, jin adarshon pe hamare desh ne azaadi prapt ki hai, humein unhe bhoolna nahi chahiye. Aur humein yeh bhi nahi bhoolna chahiye ki kitna kathin hai un ideals ko salamat rakhna. That was my tweet: Happy Independence Day. Isme kya offensive hai? But comments shuru ho gaye, negative comments shuru ho gaye. Usmein automatically ek political alignment assume kar li gayi. Why? I didn’t understand.”

Concluding, she said, “Jabki mera kehne ka simple yahi matlab tha us waqt bhi, aur maine yeh kisi se baat karte hue bhi kaha tha—ki hum toh azaadi bhi sangharsh karke prapt ki hai. Hum jaante hain ki oppressed hona kya hota hai. Hum jaante hain ki—you know, humne apartheid dekha hai, famines dekhe hain, us tarah ka occupation dekha hai na, humne? Toh jab bhi yeh hamare desh mein ya world mein kahin bhi hota hai—jaise ki is waqt Gaza mein ho raha hai—humein toh particularly samajhna chahiye yeh dard. Kyunki hum toh isse guzar ke hi azaad huye hain, right? Toh, we should be the first people to feel their pain.”

Kritika Kamra was last seen in Saare Jahan Se Accha: The Silent Guardians and is filming Matka King.

Kate Gosselin on Her, Jon Gosselin’s Kids Dealing With Racism

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

“The first few weeks when they both went to college—two different colleges—they were on FaceTime, all three of us, crying every night for at least a week or two,” Kate said in an Aug. 15 TikTok. “After that, they slowly found friends and I didn’t hear from them as much, which scared me. I wanted to know that they were safe, I wanted to know that they were OK.”

The matriarch had her own difficulties, too, noting, “I unhealthily pretended for the first three months that they were just upstairs sleeping. I couldn’t accept the fact that they had left, they were gone and I wasn’t gonna see them until the holidays.”

Nowadays, however, she embraces the fact that her kids are living their independent lives.

“They all live in different places or go to different colleges, so I get to listen to them catching up and be a part of that,” Kate explained. “We cook big meals together. It’s really loud here, and I love it.”

Read on to look back at Jon and Kate’s kids through the years.
