Event Footprints introduces the EF Data Hub to unify complex attendee data and demonstrate event ROI

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Event Footprints has today announced the launch of its EF Data Hub platform, built off the Snowflake cloud data warehousing platform for optimum data security and compliance, it is designed for corporate marketers, event owners and event agencies that opt for best-in-class or have a fragmented event tech stack.

This solution addresses a core industry challenge by transforming complex, multi-source data into clear, impactful and actionable data to support event operations, ensuring a smooth data flow between platforms and allowing marketing teams to measure impact.

Two services powered by the EF Data Hub at launch include the company’s Integration Services and Event Stride – Dashboarding service, which provides a single data view across multiple platforms.

The integration services connect all client event technologies, from registration and event apps to lead scanning (and also martech and CRM systems as required), to extract data. This data is then centralised, cleaned, and organised into the EF Data Hub, a single, reliable source of truth for all event metrics. This year, whilst in beta, the platform has powered some of the world’s largest corporate events and has been used to transform, cleanse and integrate data from core industry platforms such as Cvent, Rainfocus, Bizzabo and Swoogo.

The Event Stride methodology and visualisations (built using Tableau) are the crucial final step, providing the front-end dashboards that make the unified data in the Hub immediately understandable across the whole event lifecycle. It enables event professionals to view, analyse, and present a complete picture of their event, demonstrating clear ROE and ROI to stakeholders or clients in real-time, with the dynamic filters that are custom to their business, and a supporting narrative provides confidence when discussing event impact with the C-Suite.

“Corporate event teams and agencies often struggle to get a complete picture of their events because their data is siloed,” said Rob Curtis, founder of Event Footprints. “Our Integration Services do the heavy lifting to connect to every platform, and our EF Data Hub creates that single source of truth. The Event Stride methodology and visualisations are the final, essential piece; it makes that unified data presentable, allowing planners to clearly and confidently demonstrate event success.”

The entire process is delivered as a fully managed service, meaning no technical work is required from the client; all data handling meets strict governance and compliance requirements.

“Our goal is to give planners clarity and confidence,” added Curtis. “This combination of products allows them to move from simply collecting data to actively using it to prove success through a clear and repeatable methodology.”

“We are building a foundational data platform that can power data-led events and allows us to expand our capabilities into AI-led solutions as we head into 2026, utilising agentic AI built into the Snowflake platform,” he concluded.

Thinness is back on catwalks — and the data proves it

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

After a short interlude of pushing “body inclusivity” and plus-sized models to the fore, the fashion industry has returned to promoting thinness as a beauty ideal.

Thinness is back on catwalks — and the data proves it

Data published this week from Vogue Business, based on catwalk shows in the most recent Spring/Summer 2026 Fashion Weeks, corroborated what models with regular or larger body sizes have been reporting: their work is drying up.

Of the 9,038 looks analysed in New York, London, Milan and Paris, 97.1 percent featured models judged to be very small , according to data from Vogue Business in its size inclusivity report.

Regular-sized models represented only 2.0 percent of the body types seen, compared to just 0.9 percent for “plus-size” models , the report showed.

“There are fewer and fewer plus-size models on the runways,” Aude Perceval, a booker at Plus Agency, a pioneer in plus-size modeling in France, told AFP.

The trend was particularly pronounced in Paris, she added.

This is despite many designers adopting looks that naturally create curvy silhouettes, such as corsets.

In some cases, models have been sent out with padding around their hips to create the hourglass shape.

“Since 2022, there’s been a real regression, both in the frequency of contracts and in fees,” model Doralyse Brumain, 31, who wears a French 40-42, told AFP.

– ‘False idea’ –

The “body positive” movement, born in the 2010s, was based on the idea of promoting acceptance of different body types and recognising the damage done by creating a beauty ideal of thinness that was both unhealthy and beyond the reach of most women.

In the same way that fur and flashy fashion is making a comeback, so is the aesthetic of extreme thinness that was called “heroin chic” in the 1990s when popularised by supermodels such as Kate Moss.

“There’s this false idea that being thin means being chic, being rich,” said French model casting director Esther Boiteux to AFP.

The wide availability of weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic used to suppress appetite has also been linked to the return of thinness.

The diabetes treatment “has something to do with it because we’re seeing a lot of celebrities who are using it”, British Vogue editor Chioma Nnadi said last November.

“I think there’s this shift in the culture around how we think about our bodies and how we address our bodies,” she told the BBC.

Clothes for fashion shows are also typically designed and manufactured in a single size that of “standard” thin models and making clothes for regular or larger models requires forethought and extra time to adapt them.

– ‘Unattainable’ –

Ekaterina Ozhiganova, a Russian-born model and founder of the Model Law association, which advocates for model rights, says that consumers are in favour of seeing models in different sizes.

“But for it to become truly sustainable, there would need to be a profound change in production,” she told AFP, adding that the industry continued to sell “an unattainable ideal”.

French designer Jeanne Friot believes fashion runways should instead be a place where everyone can envision themselves.

“The point of a fashion show is to showcase something different from the fashion I grew up with, very thin and very standardized. I want to see sizes… older people, all ethnicities, all genders,” she told AFP.

For the moment, sighting a regular-sized woman on the catwalk is an increasingly rare occurrence, but the change is not going unnoticed.

“We have to speak out when fashion messes up and establishes a standard it should abandon,” French fashion journalist Sophie Fontanel wrote on Instagram in early October as she watched the Givenchy show during Paris Fashion Week.

Impact Data & Events Launches; Announces FREE #iVoted NYC Concert at Irving Plaza w/ Lay Bankz, Connie Diiamond, and More

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

October 6th, 2025 – Music industry veteran Emily White and a deeply experienced team of industry leaders have announced the expansion of their non-profit work to launch Impact Data & Events. The non-partisan group is born out of 2018’s #iVoted, 2020’s record-breaking #iVoted Festival, 2022’s #iVoted Sweepstakes, and last year’s production of 18 #iVoted Concerts that MIT has shown increases voter turnout by over 7%.

Impact Data & Events has created a data-model in partnership with Johns Hopkins University’s SNF Agora Institute that determines the top trending talent in any location with the most unregistered and non-voting fans. The org has also built a tool that shows where any talent can have the largest impact on elections to strategically guide in-person appearances and digital campaigns. These tools encompass talent not limited to music, entertainment, sports, influencers, and more.

Says White, “#iVoted isn’t going anywhere and lives under the larger entity of Impact Data & Events. We’re excited to be announcing a free #iVoted NYC Concert for election night, November 4th, at Irving Plaza with incredible artists booked from our Johns Hopkins’ data. But we’ve since learned that the largest impact on turnout is made by registering the most new voters, which is exactly what our data shows. There are tens of thousands of artists in our data. Expanding our non-profit work allows us to run and partner with strategic campaigns to activate key talent, as well as the millions of artists that are releasing music, to ensure the music industry in particular is maximizing voter turnout at scale. Impact Data & Events allows us to produce #iVoted Concerts, as well as free shows that support the climate, mental health initiatives, cancel student / medical debt, and more. At the same time, we’re fortunate to be working with arguably the leading digital marketing visionary in the industry, Bryan Calhoun. Bryan and I realized we can reach the talent in our data via targeted digital campaigns that are precise to each location, while also scaling this work to make certain all artists are engaged for maximum impact.”

Impact Data & Events offers its groundbreaking data tools to all non-profits looking to increase civic impact and beyond. They similarly create custom data plans and strategies tailored to each partner and goal. The org is currently piloting the first ever custom artist branded direct to fan voter registration tool for this Fall’s historic New York City mayoral election by targeting the top trending artists in and from NYC, per Chartmetric, while running strategic marketing campaigns to maximize reach and impact.

This all culminates in a November 4th #iVoted NYC Concert in the heart of Manhattan at Irving Plaza on election night featuring performances by Lay Bankz, Connie Diiamond, JayR Rashiq, DJ Nick Seale, with HOT 97’s Miabelle hosting, and more. RSVP HERE by checking your voter registration with HeadCount or by submitting a selfie from outside of your polling place /  at home with a blank and unmarked ballot. Ineligible voters also have free options to RSVP to ensure all are welcome.

Adds White, “Our core will always be producing free, data-booked impact concerts that the public enters by taking tangible action while simultaneously increasing civic participation. But expanding our digital offerings with our data model and decades of music industry experience is a natural evolution in an era where the most pressing issues of our time are at our fingertips at what feels like every moment. Impact Data & Events is excited to unite the industry and our partners to maximize voter turnout and solve issues that affect our daily lives and society at large.”

The non-profit was originally founded by Emily White, Mike Luba, and Pat Sansone of Wilco, with board members including Warped Tour Founder Kevin Lyman, John Boyle, Amaechi Uzoigwe, Steve Ferguson, Dr. Jonathan Gruber, Kathryn Frazier, Dana Meyerson, Jay Byrd, Lawrence Peryer, Evangeline Elder, Joyce Dollinger, and more.

by jummy84 October 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Lüp Events is proud to be shortlisted for the 2025 Event Technology Awards, recognising our solutions that transform exhibitions and conferences for organisers, exhibitors, and attendees alike. With over 14 years of experience growing our technology, Lüp has become a trusted partner, powering over 3.5 million registrations and scans annually.

With our recently appointed Head of UK, Chris Williams, we’re now expanding our industry-leading event solutions in the UK market.

At the core of Lüp’s approach is our end-to-end onsite platform, which handles 100% of event operations where other ticketing providers manage only 10–20% of this outcome. From check-in and identity verification to access control and hybrid engagement, our systems ensure events run smoothly while maximising data capture at every touchpoint.

For example, at SXSW Sydney 2024, Lüp deployed over 100 check-in and access control scanners across 80 venues, using badge printing with integrated photo capture and QR-coded wristbands. This allowed organisers to track and manage tens of thousands of attendees in real time, prevent unauthorised access, and maintain a seamless experience at scale.

The Lüp Console platform also empowers organisers with unprecedented live insights and analytics across an entire event lifecycle. At Design & Build Week 2025, we provided a full view of attendee behaviour, exhibitor engagement, and marketing performance, allowing data-driven decisions that improved ROI and shaped future events.

Similarly, partnerships with RX Global for their UK events demonstrated our ability to integrate on-site systems with in-house registration platforms, enabling high-volume, globally consistent check-in experiences across dozens of events.

By combining operational excellence, modular hardware, hybrid access solutions, and robust analytics, Lüp Events turns complex events into seamless, measurable experiences. Our technology doesn’t just manage events. It delivers actionable data, optimises engagement, and empowers organisers and exhibitors to succeed.

How Blockchain Technology Is Transforming Data Management in Higher Education – Hollywood Life

As higher education institutions navigate the digital age, the secure management of academic records and credentials has become a top priority. Blockchain technology, once associated primarily with cryptocurrencies, is now emerging as a powerful tool for universities seeking innovative solutions to data integrity, transparency, and student empowerment.

Core Principles of Blockchain Technology

Blockchain is a decentralized digital ledger that records transactions across a distributed network. Each “block” contains a record of transactions, and once added, it cannot be altered retroactively. This immutability and transparency make blockchain particularly appealing for managing sensitive academic data. Universities can leverage these features to ensure that transcripts, diplomas, and certificates are both tamper-proof and easily verifiable by employers or other institutions.

Applications for Academic Credentialing

One of the most promising uses of blockchain in higher education is the issuance and verification of digital credentials. Traditionally, verifying a student’s academic record involves time-consuming processes and third-party intermediaries. With blockchain, students can control their own digital credentials, sharing them instantly and securely with potential employers or graduate programs. This not only streamlines administrative workflows but also empowers students to own and manage their educational achievements throughout their careers.

Improving Data Security and Privacy

Data breaches and privacy concerns are significant challenges for universities. Blockchain’s cryptographic foundations provide a robust framework for protecting sensitive information. By decentralizing data storage and employing consensus mechanisms, blockchain reduces the risk of unauthorized access or data manipulation. Furthermore, students can grant or revoke access to their records, ensuring that personal information is shared only with trusted parties.

Blockchain Applications Beyond Academia

The versatility of blockchain extends well beyond the academic sphere. For example, blockchain-based platforms are now used in a variety of sectors to secure digital transactions and manage user data. In the financial technology space, blockchain underpins not only digital currencies but also innovative applications such as secure voting systems and supply chain tracking. To illustrate the breadth of blockchain’s adoption, even entertainment and gaming platforms—such as the top 10 crypto casinos—utilize blockchain to ensure transparency and security in their operations. These diverse applications highlight the adaptability of blockchain technology and its potential to address complex data management challenges across industries.

Editorial Standards for Implementation

As universities adopt new technologies, clear and consistent communication becomes essential. Academic institutions benefit from following established editorial standards to maintain professionalism and clarity in all written materials. For maintaining a consistent and professional tone in academic writing, it is essential to follow an established editorial style guide, such as the Editorial style guide, which provides comprehensive guidance tailored to higher education communications. Adhering to such guidelines ensures that both technical and non-technical audiences can understand the benefits and implications of emerging technologies like blockchain.

The Future of Decentralized Data Management

The integration of blockchain technology into higher education data management represents a significant step toward more secure, efficient, and student-centered systems. As universities continue to explore and implement these innovations, they contribute to a broader transformation in how information is managed and trusted in the digital era. Ongoing research, collaboration, and adherence to best practices will be key to realizing the full potential of blockchain, both within academia and beyond.

Cvent and BeCause integration brings sustainability data to the forefront for event planners and hoteliers

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Pictured L-R – Jim Abramson, Vice President of Product Management at Cvent & Jahanzeeb Ahmed, CCO at BeCause

Cvent, a market-leading meetings, events, and hospitality technology provider, and BeCause, the sustainability data hub for the travel and tourism industry, have announced an integration to enhance how hotels present sustainability information on the Cvent Supplier Network (CSN), one of the world’s largest venue-sourcing platforms. The integration allows hotels to automatically integrate verified sustainability information from BeCause’s live data hub – the largest database of verified hotel sustainability data in the industry containing more than 2 million data points across 10,000 metrics – into their CSN profiles, addressing the growing demand from event planners for easily accessible sustainability data when sourcing and booking venues. More than 12,000 hotels and venues are already sharing sustainability data and publishing it on CSN through this integration.

“Sustainability has evolved into a critical component of corporate and event strategy, prompting organisations to demand greater transparency from their supply chain, including meetings and events,” said Jahanzeeb Ahmed, CCO at BeCause. “This shift means hotels are under pressure to collect, organise and share this data when competing for group business – but that process is often highly manual. With this integration, hotels can now effortlessly provide, verified sustainability information that event planners are actively seeking, thereby improving their visibility and competitiveness in the group business market.”

“Event planners are increasingly prioritising sustainability in their decision-making process, and our collaboration with BeCause is a direct result of our commitment to listening to and acting on planner and hotelier feedback,” said Jim Abramson, Vice President of Product Management at Cvent. “We’re proud to work with BeCause to empower hotels to meet planners’ demands at scale, ensuring they remain at the forefront of a fast-evolving market that values environmental responsibility.”

The two companies plan to expand their product collaboration in the future by automating the publication of hotel sustainability data from the BeCause Data Hub into a hotel’s Cvent requests for proposals (RFP) process. This will help hotel sales teams quickly address extensive RFP sustainability questions while removing friction for event planners during the sourcing process.
