‘Dancing With the Stars’ Ratings Momentum Keeps Growing

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Dancing With the Stars made a little bit of TV ratings history with its Oct. 21 episode.

The ABC show delivered 6.63 million viewers for its Wicked-themed night of dances, a season high and the largest same-day audience for DWTS since the start of the 2020-21 season. It also hit a season high among adults 18-49 with a 1.38 rating, which is also its best in several years.

With its week to week gains, Dancing With the Stars has now improved for five straight weeks in total viewers since its season premiere on Sept. 16. According to ABC research, it’s the first fall show in at least 34 years — dating back to the start of Nielsen’s regular measurement of total viewers in 1991 — to grow its audience for five weeks in a row after a season premiere. (DWTS also outdrew NBC’s solid NBA season opener in viewers.)

Dancing’s ABC lead-out, High Potential, is also having a strong season after its breakout rookie campaign. The Oct. 7 episode hit season highs in both total viewers (12.5 million) and adults 18-49 (2.31 rating) after a week of cross-platform viewing. About 35 percent of its viewer total (4.41 million) and more than two thirds of the 18-49 rating (1.6) came via streaming; seven days of linear viewing put the show at 8.09 million viewers and a 0.71 in the 18-49 demographic.

High Potential’s on-air ratings are running well ahead of the same point in season one: In Nielsen’s seven-day linear ratings (i.e., without streaming), the show is averaging 7.62 million viewers, up 29 percent from 5.91 million a year ago.

Elsewhere, the Oct. 19 finale of Task on HBO and HBO Max matched its season high (set a week earlier) of 4 million cross-platform viewers over three days. The crime drama’s premiere has grown to 11.2 million viewers — adding 1.2 million people over the past week — and the season as a whole ranks among the fastest-growing inaugural seasons of any HBO series.

HBO’s comedy The Chair Company is also showing momentum. Its second episode drew 1.5 million viewers over three days, up from 1.4 million for its series premiere. The first episode has grown to 2.7 million viewers over 10 days, putting the show’s season average so far at 2.1 million. The Chair Company is running well ahead of recent HBO comedies Somebody Somewhere and The Rehearsal and in the neighborhood of The Righteous Gemstones (2.3 million viewers).

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman to Exit

by jummy84 October 23, 2025
written by jummy84

“Strictly Come Dancing” presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have announced their departure from the BBC series.

In a video posted to both their Instagram accounts, the pair revealed they had made the joint decision to leave the show. “There have been some rumblings, and we want you to hear this from us,” Winkleman began. “After 21 wonderfully joyful years on ‘Strictly,’ we have decided that the time is right to step aside and pass on the baton,” Daly continued.

Daly has presented the dance competition series since its start in 2004, whereas Winkleman joined as her co-host in 2014 when Sir Bruce Forsyth left the show.

“We have loved working as a duo and hosting ‘Strictly’ has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time,” they continued in the video’s caption. “We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. They’re the most brilliant team and we’ll miss them every day. We will cry when we say the last ‘keep dancing’ but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza.”

Daly added in her own statement on Instagram: “This isn’t a goodbye to glitter, sequins or Saturday night sparkle (I could never say goodbye to those!). ‘Strictly’ will forever hold a special place in my heart — but it does feel like the right time to hand over the reins.”

The 23rd season of “Strictly Come Dancing” is currently airing on the BBC, with its finale set for Dec. 20. Daly and Winkleman will continue to host the show through the end of this season, and then the hunt will be on for the BBC to find new presenters.

“I’ve always believed it’s best to leave a party before you’re fully ready to go and I know the new hosts will be magnificent, I look forward to watching them take ‘Strictly’ to new heights,” Winkleman added in a separate post. “As for Tess — I’m so so lucky I got to stand next to you. You’re funny, kind, whip smart and a true friend and I love you.”

Dancing With the Stars’ Carrie Ann Inaba Claps Back at Critics

by jummy84 October 23, 2025

In fact, Danielle said she appreciates Carrie Ann’s “direct” approach to judging. As the Boy Meets World alum shared in her E! interview, “Carrie Ann saying that our dances look the same, we walked out of here and we said, ‘All right, next week, we will give her what she asked for.'”

That’s why she said DWTS contestants can’t “let critiques go to your head.”

“Whenever it’s over, it’s over,” she noted. “But in the meantime, you are doing it.”

Cameron Winter Seemingly Covers Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” for Xbox Ad: Watch

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Cameron Winter sings Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” in the launch trailer for the ROG Xbox Ally. At least, that is what we can deduce based on the seemingly unmistakeable tenor of the singer’s voice; neither Winter nor Geese have acknowledged the song, and nobody is credited for the music in the trailer’s description. The acts’ representatives did not respond to requests for comment. Decide for yourself below.

If any doubts remain over the artist’s identity (or identities), one person we can rule out is Brian Eno, composer of the Windows 95 startup sound for Xbox owner Microsoft. In May, Eno denounced Microsoft for collaborating with the Israeli government, donated his fee for the theme to people in Gaza, and expressed solidarity with Microsoft workers who have “done something truly disruptive and refused to stay silent.”

Geese’s latest album, Getting Killed, came out last month. They have since performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and released a music video for “Au Pays du Cocaine.”

Strictly Come Dancing fans frustrated as judges leave one star “undermarked”

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Strictly Come Dancing fans have accused the judges of “undermarking” Karen Carney on tonight’s (Saturday 18th October) episode of the show.

The former footballer opened Week 4 alongside her partner Carlos Gu, with the pair dancing the quickstep to Marvellous by Beverley Knight.

Despite a slight stumble as Karen got up from a lift, the performance received glowing praise from the Strictly judges, which left some fans surprised that it only scored 6, 7, 7 and 7 from the judges – a total of 27 overall.

Motsi Mabuse said in her feedback: “Karen, you were elegant, on rhythm, you were fast. I loved the attack. You look settled now, you have everything really shiny and bright. There was a slip on the dress, I forgive that.”

Shirley Ballas was full of praise well, saying: “This is an improvement from when you did your tango. The tailsuit, the dress, the grooming, it just looks fabulous. Anything with energy, you are outstanding with. Did you have a little slip at the end? Yes. Did you recuperate? Yes.”

Anton Du Beke added: “Really professional, really focussed. A little bit of gapping… but the opening was clean, this energy is great, much clearer in the footwork. Well done.”

Finally, Craig Revel Horwood added: “Slipping happens to the best of us, darling. Recovery is important. Your topline needs to be a little quieter and your feet are slightly sickled but you know what, the Charlestons you do are incredible. I cannot wait to see you do a Charleston.”

After the scores were revealed, viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration, with one fan writing: “Kaz undermarked once again.”

A second fan added: “Kaz and Carlos should’ve scored 8s for that quickstep #strictly.”

Dancing With the Stars: Pasha Pashkov on Carrie Ann Inaba’s Criticism

Dancing With the Stars: Pasha Pashkov on Carrie Ann Inaba’s Criticism

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Pasha Pashkov is meeting his critics head-on.

The Dancing With the Stars pro—who’s partnered with Boy Meets World alum Danielle Fishel on the ABC competition’s 34th season—said he was “not happy” to hear judge Carrie Ann Inaba‘s criticism of their routine during Oct. 14’s Dedication Night episode.

“Some of your dances are starting to feel like I’m watching the same dance over and over again,” Carrie Ann told the duo, whose jive number paid tribute to Danielle’s former costar William Daniels. “Try to give a little bit more variety as far as dynamics. This is also on you, Pasha.”

Well, Pasha thinks that comment was “unfair.”

“Especially being that she said that the dances looked similar,” he told Variety in an interview published Oct. 15. “The thing is, we did have a quickstep and we had a jive this week. These are two dances that [are] very, very similar.”

The 39-year-old continued, “If we had dances that were drastically different and they felt the same, I’d understand. But, based on the dances that we had, that did not feel like it made sense to me. In my heart.”

Danielle Fishel Sets ‘Boy Meets World’ Reunion at ‘Dancing With the Stars’

by jummy84 October 15, 2025
written by jummy84

The “Boy Meets World” cast is got back together to support Topanga.

During Tuesday’s dedication night on “Dancing With the Stars,” Danielle Fishel danced to the theme song from the hit sitcom in a number honoring William Daniels, who played Mr. George Feeny.

Fishel danced a jive with her partner, Pasha Pashkov. Daniels, 98, join the duo in the routine. She received the score of a 29 of 40, receiving her first 8 of the season.

Many members from the cast were also in the audience, including Will Friedle (Eric Matthews), Betsy Randle (Amy Matthews), William Russ (Alan Matthews), Trina McGee (Angela Moore), Bonnie Bartlett (Lila Bolander and Williams’ wife), and Alex Désert (Eli Williams).

“The fabulous group of people who will be joining me at DWTS tomorrow for Dedication night! I feel such an overwhelming responsibility to give a full out, joyous, celebratory dance to the man who is responsible for THOUSANDS of people becoming teachers and who has helped raise multiple generations,” Fishel captioned her Instagram announcing the cast set to attend. “This dance is a dedication from me to Bill but I am representing ALL OF YOU who loved and appreciated him and his career for so many decades. Unfortunately, @rider_strong is working out of town but he will be missed.”

She previously opened up about the routine.

“Saying it out loud feels crazy. But yes, we get to dance to the ‘Boy Meets World’ theme song, the one you all know and love,” she previously shared on her “Danielle With the Stars” podcast. “I’m so excited. It’s really a dedication to Bill and the role he has played in my life and the role ‘Boy Meets World’ has played in my life. I have really felt like ‘Dancing with the Stars’ has been a second act for me in my career and as a performer.”

She mentioned how much of an inspiration Daniels has been in her life and to many members of the TV family. She added, “To be able to say thank you to him and give him this kind of a platform for him to receive the love that he deserves is going to be very memorable. So I’m very, very excited about that. I can’t wait.”

“Boy Meets World” aired from 1993 to 2000. The cast later reunited for a spinoff, “Girl Meets World,” which aired for three seasons on Disney Channel from 2014 to 2017.

Bobby Bones on Hilaria Baldwin’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Elimination and ‘Bullying’ Claims

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Bobby Bones has a hot take on Hilaria Baldwin‘s surprise Dancing With the Stars elimination.

“I was reading about Hilaria Baldwin saying she was bullied off of Dancing With the Stars,” Bones began a Monday, October 13, TikTok video. “As somebody who was treated like crap by the hardcore fans of the show, yeah, bullying happens. But you don’t get bullied off the show. You get kicked off the show because nobody voted for you, or you didn’t get scores.”

Noting that Baldwin “was a great dancer” and “came in with a ton of dance experience,” Bones claimed that she was eliminated “because people didn’t like you.”

He explained, “I got, again, bullied like crazy, but people liked me, so I won the show. So, that’s bull crap. Although that’s the meanest fan base of anything ever — Dancing With the Stars, the hardcore fans. People that vote and love the show and have a good time, you guys are cool. But the hardcores? Bad people.”

Despite scoring near the top or in the middle of the leaderboard all season, Baldwin and her pro partner, Gleb Savchenko, were sent home during the October 7 Disney Night episode. In an interview with Us Weekly published on Monday, Baldwin blamed her early exit on social media “mean girls” who voted “for all the other couples except us.”

“Very coordinated, very strategic bullying,” she also said during a Friday, October 10, Instagram Live, per the outlet. “And as I feel the darkness that undoubtedly brings to me, I always want to remember that my life belongs to the whole community and I want to leave a lasting mark of courage to speak up against what is simply wrong.”

Baldwin also told Us Weekly that she has nothing but “wonderful things” to say about dancing on the ABC competition series. “There’s more good people than bad people. And I just want one day that people can just see me and stop, like, the crazy stuff,” she added.

Bones is no stranger to facing DWTS controversy. Fan votes propelled the radio personality and his pro partner, Sharna Burgess, to win Season 27 in 2018, despite receiving lower scores than the other finalists throughout the competition. Changes to the voting system were made after his win, including the introduction of the Judges’ Save, which was removed ahead of Season 32 in 2023.

Last month, Bones admitted that he “cheated” to win DWTS, revealing on Jason Tartick‘s Trading Secrets podcast he would “illegally” practice his dances in another studio after his allocated “four hours a day” with Burgess were up.

“People like traditional dancers. You ain’t gonna like me because I have no idea what I’m doing. I was very transparent about that on the show. Very vulnerable, like, ‘Guys, I’m clueless,’” Bones said. “And the fact that I was winning made it difficult on people who had always watched the show.”

Disney/Eric McCandless

After his win, Bones said he was told by producers that he had the “highest separation ever in the history of that show of votes.” He shared, “I think the quote from one of the executives was, ‘I could have peed on stage in my final dance and won.’ But they never told me that.”

Dancing with the Stars Week 4: Who Went Home

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

After last week’s rather awkward tribute to TikTok, Dancing with the Stars returned to familiar ground Tuesday with its popular Disney Night. After a Mandy Moore-choreographed opener to “Be My Guest,” the duos opened their rehearsal packages with corny stand-ups from Disneyland to help celebrate the park’s 70th year in Anaheim.

But if you really want to talk about the Happiest Place on Earth right now, it’s gotta be the DWTS ballroom. The ABC show once again shattered voting records last week, much to the despair of poor Lauren Jauregui who unexpectedly got the boot. Most viewers thought it was Andy Richter’s time to go, but the Fifth Harmony crooner went home, instead.

Is it Richter’s turn tonight?

Comedian Andy Richter with partner Emma Slater. Richter was the cook to Slater’s rat for their unremarkable Viennese waltz to a tune from Ratatouille. It was far from a chef’s kiss but Richter is downright adorable when owning his mediocrity. “Andy, you produce such memorable moments,” said Carrie Ann Inaba. “We are, though, at week 4 … we’re gonna be looking for more content. I want you to challenge yourself more.” SCORE: 18 out of 30

Danielle Fishel (Boy Meets World) with Pasha Pashkov. Fishel vowed to go all out this week with her Jungle Book themed-quickstep to “I Wanna Be Like You,” but she still got dinged by Bruno Tonioli for failing to keep the beat. “Once you went into the quickstep was very very good but you were off timing, my darling,” he said. SCORE: 21 out of 30

Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying with Rylee Arnold. Hoying feels like he has finally “broken out of his shell” but his slightly-better-than-average salsa didn’t quite have the same wow factor as last week’s jazz performance. Making matters worse, he had to do it to “Bop to the Top” from High School Musical, which is about as Cuban as the white-bread characters who performed it in the 2006 TV movie. The judges cut him a break, though. “That’s what happens with the confidence kicks in,” said Inaba. “You razzle-dazzled with that salsa.” SCORE: 21 out of 30

ANDY RICHTER, EMMA SLATER (Disneyland Resort, Sean Teegarden)

Wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin with Witney Carson. Irwin has a funny habit of either mouthing words or chewing on air when dancing, but that’s small note for his otherwise splendid cha cha to the way-too-slow “Try Everything” from Zootopia. “You just have that Irwin aura,” said Derek Hough. “You can’t help but smile when watching you perform. Your upper half is so strong.” SCORE: 22 out of 30

Author and influencer Hilaria Baldwin and Gleb Savchenko. Baldwin’s quickstep to the cantina song from Star Wars was out of this world! Hough argued that her “quickstep” needed more quickstep but his fellow judges disagreed. So did I. “Princess Leia, the force is still with you,” said Tonioli, in reference to her Carrie Fisher-inspired costume. “Whatever you did, worked. I actually watched very, very closely what you did tonight, really analyzing. I was looking for something wrong. I didn’t see it.” SCORE: 23 out of 30

Jen Affleck (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) with Jan Ravnik. The Mormon mama closed the show with an acrobat-filled jazz routine to a song from Aladdin that truly embodied the Disney theme. And Ravnik makes a terrific genie! Oddly, Inaba wasn’t blown away. “You are living the Disney dream right now. Great performance,” she said. “But something about it didn’t set me over the top. Boo me! I think you need to make it a little more challenging as we move forward.” SCORE: 23 out 30

Reality TV star Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach. Efron’s perky quickstep to the Cars song “Life is a Highway” kept him in the judges’ good graces, who clearly appreciate his good looks and week-to-week growth. “Dylan McQueen, the quickstep king!” said Hough. “So impressed with that left arm, you were keeping that strong all the way through.” SCORE: 23 out of 30

Social media personality Alix Earle with Val Chmerkovskiy. Bravo to Chmerkovskiy, who offered a fresh take on the Cinderella classic “One Upon a Dream” by having Earle dress as Maleficent for their dark and evocative Viennese waltz. “Alix, that was mesmerizing,” said Hough. “It was magical, it was spellbinding … I disagree with Carrie Ann last week. This was your best dance.” SCORE: 24 out of 30

Actor Elaine Hendrix with Alan Bersten. Poor Bersten had his work cut out for him this week, having to choreograph a killer quickstep to the theme song from …. Space Mountain?! But Bersten and the stage managers (who trotted out some bitchen lasers) gave Hendrix the ride of her life. “That was a complicated routine,” said Hough. “You didn’t miss a beat.” SCORE: 24 out of 30

Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles with Ezra Sosa. The gymnast’s quickstep to a spirited tune from The Princess and the Frog had the judges raving about her natural ballroom ability. “This kind of dance is why people love Disney night. You brought it to life. When you dance it’s fun, it’s animated but it’s also authentic.” SCORE: 24 out of 30

MARK BALLAS, WHITNEY LEAVITT (Disney/Christopher Willard)

Whitney Leavitt (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) with Mark Ballas. Look who just became the frontrunner! The duo’s foxtrot to “Room Where it Happens” From Hamilton was an absolute stunner and deserved to close the show (sorry, Affleck). “There is traditional foxtrot and then there is Mark’s foxtrot,” said Inaba. “While I was watching, my lip was quivering. It was so good. The precision, the technicality, the painting of that picture was incredible. Insane.” SCORE: 25 out of 30

Host Alfonso Ribeiro began the eliminations by announcing how the show just exceeded 40 million votes. Yowza!

Bottom three were Richter, Baldwin and Fishel. In another shocker elimination, Baldwin was sent home. The influencer was gracious about her departure, though. No words about feeling pissed from this one!

“This has been an incredible experience,” she said. “I’m so grateful to all of you. And I’m grateful to my children and my family! Thank you guys for this. I’m cheering on everybody in the cast because this has been an amazing time.”

Kate Carney aces, Ross King’s misstep and more from Week One of Strictly Come Dancing 2025

1 October 2025

Karen Carney opened the series with a sparkling jive alongside Carlos Gu, landing 31 points and topping the leaderboard.

Strictly Come Dancing

Judges praised her sharp footwork and infectious energy, a performance that defied her footballing background and announced her as an early contender.

Ross King’s cha-cha-cha with Jowita Przystal fell flat, scoring just 10 points and drawing stinging critiques about timing and control.

While Motsi Mabuse urged patience, it was a sobering start for the broadcaster and left him near the bottom of the standings.

Other standouts emerge, and a rule change sparks intrigue

Lewis Cope impressed with a stylish routine, while Amber Davies – joining the lineup late – showed poise and potential.

Former footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink also surprised with a lively quickstep, demonstrating that sport and dance can mix on the Strictly floor.

This season introduces a significant shift in the judging panel’s dynamic. Shirley Ballas will no longer hold the permanent deciding vote in eliminations, with the responsibility now rotating between judges.

The change has already stirred debate and could prove decisive as the competition heats up.
