D4vd Reportedly Transfers Ownership Of Texas Homes

D4vd has possibly made executive decisions as law enforcement continues to investigate how a dead teenager was found in his Tesla. According to TMZ, the singer reportedly transferred the deeds of two of his Texas homes to his mother.

The tabloid reported that the ownership changes for the Houston-area residences were made on Sept. 18 and Sept. 22. On the earlier date, police were reportedly called to one of the houses after a swatting incident falsely reported a shooting and a dead female victim. The caller allegedly used technology to disguise their voice when they made the claim. When law enforcement arrived, D4vd’s parents allegedly answered the door and informed police that his siblings were also in the home.

As the investigation is continued, Los Angeles police still have not named D4vd a suspect in the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Hernandez is believed to have been dead for “several weeks” before her body was discovered last month in the 20-year-old’s impounded vehicle.

“We know for sure that Celeste Rivas Hernandez died and someone placed her body in the front trunk area of David Burke’s [d4vd’s legal name] Tesla. We know that the Tesla had been parked at the location from which it was towed for several weeks, so it is very likely Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been dead for several weeks prior to her body being discovered,” explained LAPD Captain and Commanding Officer Scot M. Williams.

“The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not determined a cause or manner of her death, so we don’t know for sure if anyone has any criminal culpability for her death beyond the concealment of her dead body.”

Hernandez had been reported missing in April 2024 before her remains were discovered.

“Several items of evidence were recovered and will be analyzed by detectives in the coming days,” police detailed after searching a rental property where Burke stayed in the Hollywood Hills. “This is an ongoing investigation. Investigators are following up on several leads.”

D4vd has not made any public remarks regarding the discovery of Hernandez’s body or his alleged ties to the victim. VIBE has contacted representatives for D4vd for a statement.

D4vd Cancels Remaining U.S. Tour Dates Amid Investigation On Dead Teen

Fans still expecting to watch D4vd on stage after a dead teenager was found in his abandoned Tesla are out of luck. The singer has canceled the remaining dates for his Withered 2025 World Tour. According to the ticketing website, anyone who purchased a ticket will be automatically refunded, usually within 30 business days of the cancellation announcement.

TMZ reported the decision was made on Thursday (Sept. 19). D4vd was scheduled to perform Friday night in San Francisco and Saturday night in Los Angeles. The 20-year-old was also set to attend an event at the Grammy Museum on Wednesday, Sept. 24; however, his name has been removed, according to the tabloid. As of publishing, tickets to scheduled European shows, which were set to begin next month, remain on sale.

Despite the decaying body of Celeste Rivas being discovered on Sept. 10, D4vd, legal name David Anthony Burke, performed that night in The Fillmore in Minneapolis, handing out trendy Labubu dolls, according to Newsweek. Per PEOPLE Magazine, he also continued to perform in Portland, OR., on Sept. 15. before canceling his Seattle show the next day, when the teenage victim was publicly identified.

A GoFundMe page attributed to the family of Rivas described the teenager as a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. She had been reported missing for over a year before being discovered. According to the Los Angeles Times, law enforcement has yet to determine when or how she died, or how long her body was in the trunk.

Since the troubling discovery, social media has buzzed with conversations surrounding the nature of an alleged relationship between Burke and Rivas. Video footage that supposedly features the two together, as well as viral threads linking screenshots, unreleased music, and images, have been shared across the internet, although Burke has yet to make a public statement in direct response.

D4vd Cancels Tour After Investigators Identify Body in His Tesla as Missing Teenage Girl

Earlier this month, a chopped-up, decomposing body was found in a bag in the front trunk of an impounded Tesla registered to the musician D4vd. The Houston singer-songwriter said that he was cooperating with investigators on the matter, and he continued to play shows as part of a North American tour that began on August 1.

Earlier this week, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office identified the body in the Tesla as that of Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old girl who was reported missing last year. Following the identification of the body, D4vd quietly canceled a concert in Seattle, and he has now canceled the remaining dates of his U.S. tour, according to TMZ and Variety. A deluxe version of his album Withered, which had been promised for September 19, failed to come out today.

D4vd had just two more shows left on the North American leg of his tour, but he is still due to perform in Europe, in October and November, and Australia, in December. The status of the international tour is currently unknown.

Criminal charges have not been filed in connection with Rivas’ death, but brands and fellow artists have begun to distance themselves from D4vd as the investigation continues. Crocs and Hollister removed the 20-year-old born David Anthony Burke from a new campaign, and Kali Uchis has said that she is in the process of pulling a collaborative track she did with D4vd.

Kali Uchis is distancing herself from singer D4vd after the shocking news that authorities uncovered missing teen, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, in the trunk of a vehicle connected to him. The two artists dropped their dreamy collab ‘Crashing’ back in February, but that song may not be streaming for much longer. After fans started pressing Kali in the comments, she made it clear she’s not standing by him:

“Not my friend. I did a song with him, which is currently in the process of being taken down,” she wrote on IG.

No word yet from d4vd’s team—but social media is watching this unfold. In the same comment section, Kali responded to a user who was defending her amid others blaming the singer. She wrote, “@cynthia_barrera_ it’s ok bb people like her are why women always get blamed for the things men do, lol, the internalized misogyny of this world, I suppose.”

Fans wasted no time hitting up The Shade Room’s comment section with all kinds of reactions. Some users applauded Kali Uchis for distancing herself, saying they’d do the exact same thing in her shoes. Others admitted they had never even heard of D4vd until the news broke. Many were also confused about why anyone assumed Kali and D4vd were friends—pointing out that a collab doesn’t equal a personal relationship.

Police Search Hollywood Hills Home Tied To D4vd

Authorities are investigating the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to 20-year-old singer D4vd. The car had been towed from a Los Angeles street on September 6. Then two days later, staff at the impound lot reported a foul odor coming from the vehicle. LAPD officers discovered the teen’s body in a state of decomposition. She was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as a missing girl from Lake Elsinore, last seen in 2024.

Law enforcement sources say officials recently searched a Hollywood Hills home where D4vd had been staying. While the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division is leading the investigation, the case is not currently classified as a homicide, as the agency has not determined a cause of death or a suspect. The teen was 5’1″, with wavy black hair, and police found her wearing a tube top, leggings, and jewelry. Additionally, a tattoo on her index finger that read “Shhh…” reportedly matched one the singer has. Meanwhile, a GoFundMe is now active in support of her family.

D4vd has not publicly commented on the rumors about his and Rivas’ alleged connection, but the two had matching tattoos on their right index fingers that read, “Shhh,” according to multiple reports. Additionally, Rivas’ mother told TMZ that her daughter had a boyfriend named David in 2024 — before she went missing.

Moreover, rumors circulated over a leaked song of d4vd’s titled, “Celeste_Demo unfin” when it was released in late 2023. In the track, d4vd mentions a girl named Celeste more than once.

“Oh, Celeste / The girl with my name tattooed on her chest,” he sings in one verse of the unreleased song. “Smell her on my clothes like cigarettes / I hear her voice each time I take a breath / I’m obsessed.” In a separate verse, he sings, “Oh, Celeste / Afraid you’ll only love me when undressed / But you look so damn gorgeous in that dress.”

D4vd was also seen near Rivas’ home shortly before she disappeared in April 2024, according to multiple outlets.

How Did Celeste Rivas Die?

The manner of how Rivas died is still unknown. However, her body was heavily decomposed and dismembered. Therefore, police are investigating her death as a homicide. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department released a statement confirming with the LAPD “is investigating this incident as a homicide and will be the point of contact for any further details regarding this investigation.”

On Wednesday (Sept. 17), Los Angeles police searched a home in the affluent neighborhood where D4vd’s #Tesla was first abandoned. As reported, the vehicle was impounded two weeks ago and taken to a Hollywood tow yard. A strong odor ultimately prompted the discovery of a body in the frunk (front trunk), which was later identified as missing #CelesteRivas.

Reportedly, multiple officers spent hours at a Hollywood Hills home, seizing a computer and other items from the residence. TMZ reports that the searched home is where D4vd, David Burke, seemed to be living. Per the outlet, “the house is being rented by Josh Marshall, D4vd’s manager at Interscope.”

Although authorities have yet to confirm D4vd’s connection to Celeste, online speculation is spreading. Footage of him allegedly with the teen, reports of a matching tattoo, and a song he appears to have written about her have all emerged amid the growing allegations.

A vehicle registered to D4vd, the Houston singer-songwriter who became an internet sensation with the 2023 EP Petals to Thorns, is under police investigation after a chopped-up, decomposing body was found in a bag in its front trunk, TMZ and Los Angeles news outlets report. The Tesla is registered in Hempstead, Texas, but had been impounded for a couple of days at a tow yard in Hollywood, California, according to police. D4vd, a 20-year-old whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has been on tour across North America since August 1.

The human remains have not been publicly identified. When reached by Pitchfork, a representative for D4vd directed all inquiries to the musician’s attorney, Blair Berk, who has not responded to requests for comment.

D4vd is touring behind Withered, his full-length debut, released via Darkroom and Interscope in April. His date in Minneapolis tonight (September 9) is set to go ahead at the time of writing.
