Cult Gaia Resort 2026 Collection

Every season, Cult Gaia designer Jasmin Larian Hekmat transports her customers—through clothes—to various far-flung vacation destinations. Her feminine, easy-breezy pieces are built with beachy getaways in mind—but this time around, Hekmat wanted to evoke a different mood with her upbeat assortment. “I kept coming back to the word charming,” she said. “For me, the word charming meant that everything has a touch of sweetness.”

While one could argue that Cult Gaia always leans a tad sugary, for Hekmat, that new direction meant infusing her signature dresses with a fun, quirky sense of whimsy. “They’re all a little distorted—they’re not so perfect,” she noted. Take her interpretation of the enduring polka-dot trend: Hekmat designed a high-neckline dress with a stomach cutout and knotting details, all ruched with an all-over pleated effect. The frock felt elevated, a more design-forward take on a classic pattern that simply won’t go away.

There were other clear attempts at taking summery essentials and leveling them up, too. Her linen lace dresses, for one, were one-shouldered and loosely-crocheted in some areas as if ripped or distressed. “I was thinking about how you make prim more feminine and cool,” she said. A yellow mini tank dress also featured three-dimensional floral appliqués, as well as a slightly sheer construction. (No, the naked dress phenomenon is not going anywhere anytime soon.)

In recent seasons, Hekmat has been attempting to increase the number of casual daywear pieces in her lineups, and she continued that for resort, as well. Leather zip-up coats and cargo pants were meant to offer a twist on everyday basics. “We’re easing our way into casual wear, but with our beautiful details,” she said. It’s debatable such an expansion is necessary—do we really need more utilitarian staples in the world? That said, charm and whimsy did shine through in her statement accessories, which are always a highlight. Calla lily heels and rock-covered purses exemplified the brand’s playfulness.

Fans around the world have been concerned about the health of legendary Indian actor Dharmendra, who has now reportedly been discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. Several Bollywood stars, including Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Govinda, and Abhay Deol, were spotted visiting him to check on the veteran actor’s condition.

Known for unforgettable performances in classics like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Haqeeqat, Seeta Aur Geeta, and The Burning Train, Dharmendra’s filmography is filled with iconic roles. However, few know that he was also considered for a major role in Shaan (1980), the star-studded action thriller directed by Sholay director Ramesh Sippy.

Released five years after Sholay and written by Salim-Javed, Shaan featured Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Sunil Dutt, and Shatrughan Sinha, but Dharmendra was almost part of this ensemble. Here’s the interesting story behind which role he was offered and why he couldn’t be in the film.

Why Did Dharmendra Turn Down Shaan?

Although filmmaker Ramesh Sippy initially planned to reunite with the Sholay cast for his next big project, Shaan, fate had other plans. As per a report by News18, Ramesh Sippy wanted to cast Dharmendra, Hema Malini, and Sanjeev Kumar in key roles. However, Dharmendra decided not to be part of the film due to some differences with the director. Following his exit, Hema Malini also chose to step away, and eventually, Sanjeev Kumar too opted out, leading the filmmaker to rework the cast.

Which Actor Replaced Dharmendra in Shaan?

After Dharmendra’s exit from Shaan, there were big shoes to fill. The role eventually went to Shashi Kapoor, who had recently shared the screen with Amitabh Bachchan in Yash Chopra’s 1979 action-drama Kaala Patthar. His effortless charm and strong on-screen chemistry with Amitabh Bachchan made him a fitting addition to Ramesh Sippy’s ensemble.

What Is Shaan All About?

Directed by Ramesh Sippy, this action drama follows brothers Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) and Ravi (Shashi Kapoor), carefree conmen whose lives take a dark turn after their honest brother, Inspector Shiv Kumar (Sunil Dutt), is killed by the ruthless crime lord Shakaal (Kulbhushan Kharbanda). Teaming up with a skilled marksman (Shatrughan Sinha), they set out to infiltrate Shakaal’s island fortress to avenge their brother’s death.

Where to Watch Shaan?

Shana is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video and MX Player digital platforms in India.

The Cult announce hiatus from touring to record and “recharge our spiritual batteries”

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

The Cult has announced a hiatus from touring after concluding their current North American tour, which is due to finish on October 30 in Los Angeles.

  • READ MORE: Ian Astbury talks the resurgence of goth, David Bowie’s legacy and The Cult’s “renaissance”

Sharing the news on Instagram, the band said that they’d be taking a long break from touring to focus on other creative endeavours, but promised fans that it does not mark the end.

“Mother Nature has a cycle of change and evolution that is inevitable,” the statement began. “The moon’s phases change, tides rise and fall. Change is necessary for creation and rebirth. It is with this in mind that, following the remaining dates on our current North American The Cult/Death Cult 8525 Tour, we have decided to step away from touring for an undetermined amount of time.

“We have toured extensively over the last few years and we shall now shift our focus to writing, recording new music, and exploring other projects that shall be revealed over time. It is a time for us to turn inward to recharge our spiritual batteries.”

The band confirmed that they will be performing their final remaining shows, which will take them up to October 30.

“When we return to the stage, it shall be with an even stronger fire and energy that we will share with all of you,” the statement said. “Ours is a communal bond, and it will not be broken, simply paused. Until then, we have five remaining shows on this current tour, culminating at The Shrine in Los Angeles on Oct 30. Please join us for what has been an incredible celebration of 40 years of The Cult and Death Cult.”

The band formed as Death Cult in 1983, but then shortened their name to The Cult in 1984. Since their inception, The Cult have released 11 albums, with their most recent one being 2022’s ‘Under The Midnight Sun’.

Last year, the band’s frontman Ian Astbury spoke to NME about the recent resurgence of goth in pop culture – which sees “women picking up the swords and leading the way” – as well as how the band are looking to challenge the perception of being “a heritage act”.

Speaking about the future of The Cult, and his relationship with guitarist Billy Duffy, Astbury said:“What does the future look like? No idea, it’s chaos right now. It’s absolute anarchy. The plan is to have no plan. The plan is to be intuitive and act in response to the moment. Career? What’s a career? Plans? There are no plans. Things are changing too rapidly. I have no plans, I’m just impulsive. Whatever hits me, it’s just how quickly we can turn things around.”

He added: “The Cult is its own animal. It’s a multi-headed hydra. Billy [Duffy, guitarist] has a very strong, tactile, pragmatic, Mancunian side to him, and he holds ground. He grounds me because I’m just like lightning, I’ll be all over the place.”

The news of The Cult’s performing hiatus comes after they were announced as one of the first wave acts billed for the newly-launched Forever Now Festival, set to take place in June 2026 in Milton Keynes. They were billed next to the likes of  Kraftwerk, Johnny Marr, and The The.

Do Blue and Her Brother Die With a Cult on ‘NCIS: Sydney’? Her Past, Explained

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for NCIS: Sydney Season 3 Episode 2 “True Blue.”]

Why does their forensic pathologist have bones in her home?! That’s the question the NCIS: Sydney team wonders about Blue (Mavournee Hazel) after they search her home when it becomes clear she’s missing. It leads to revelations about her past and present, and it leaves Mackey (Olivia Swann) and JD (Todd Lasance) with a quandary.

As the others learn, Blue was once part of a cult, and the woman she found in her home at the end of the Season 2 finale, Aspira (Doris Youane), has gotten her to return by telling her her twin brother needed her. But what Blue doesn’t know is the prophecy which essentially says that everyone will follow the twins in death by suicide. What Blue uncovers is Aspira doesn’t plan to take the poison and instead will be selling the land. She raises the alarm just as the team arrives to help, and while Blue’s brother drinks the poison, Doc’s (William McInnes) there in time to save him. Blue is then left to meet the grandmother she didn’t know she had. Oh, and the bones? Her father’s, which are proof that he didn’t leave as Aspira claimed.

Meanwhile, Mackey and JD are left to wonder what to do about what they’ve learned about Blue during the course of their investigation: She’s an ex-felon, having been arrested for aggravated breaking and entering. Her file was sealed.

Below, showrunner Morgan O’Neill discusses Blue’s backstory, Mackey and JD’s conundrum, and more.

Why did you make this Blue’s backstory?

Morgan O’Neill: We spent a lot of time thinking about Blue and crafting her in the first couple of seasons of the show. There’s something tantalizing about someone who knows where all the digital bodies are buried in this world and yet has none herself. We discover little bits and pieces and breadcrumbs about Blue all the way through the first two seasons of the show. We know that she lives on her own. She has many locks on her doors. She has no digital fingerprint. She asks Doc to look into something for her when they get back from Darwin in a professional capacity. She doesn’t like her photographs being taken. She has a strange relationship with the music of Nova and the bluebird and the tattoo — and she’s got all sorts of unusual tattoos, which could almost be prison tattoos, and she doesn’t want to talk about them. We just kept piling interesting, intriguing things into Blue’s backstory, knowing that at some point we’re going to have to bring it all back out and try and lay it out in an order that made sense.

Daniel Asher Smith/Paramount+

The nature of cults is really, really fascinating to me, and the way they can sometimes control people and manipulate people into certain patterns of behavior, and the courage it takes to get out of those situations is really compelling for me. We just found the opportunity to go into the first 15, 16 years of Blue’s life to be so compelling. And I think one of the really fun things about peeling back the layers of characters is that, in some ways, it makes the character that you know profoundly richer. And so looking at where Blue has come from changes how I see Blue now. A lot of the things that she does, a lot of the ways she is, a lot of the way that she wears this kind of cool and really unusual and kooky makeup, that’s either someone who loves makeup or that’s someone who’s trying to disguise herself. That’s either someone who’s really confident or someone who’s not confident at all with who she is.

And so suddenly, looking back at those first two seasons, I’m seeing a whole different reason for the way Blue is. And for me, that’s super exciting, and it’s super exciting having peeled back that layer to then question what happens next because she’s not the character we thought she was. Her backstory is such that you have to ask yourself whether she can continue to be part of NCIS. It’s a really complicated situation that we’ve uncovered, and what JD and Mackey do with that information is really key moving forward.

Yeah, I was going to ask about that. Before I get to that, though, how is Blue going forward after what happened, after the fact that now the others know about her past? That informs how she acts around and interacts with them, right?

That’s right. She’s forced to acknowledge that she has been, for a whole bunch of really good reasons, deceptive. She hasn’t told the truth. And when you fail to tell the truth to people that you love and respect, that impacts trust, right? It’s impossible not to feel, on some levels, betrayed by that. So, how does Blue even start to repair that breach in trust? And I think, as we’ll see, that’s a huge mountain to climb, but in finding NCIS, in finding herself where she is, for the first time in her entire life, she has found family. And that’s something, when you find it, that is worth fighting for.

That’s her arc moving forward, is discovering the thing that is, for the first time in her life, something that actually resonates like family, and she’s going to defend that discovery with her very life, I think.

Yeah, her “He’s family, too” about Doc when meeting her grandmother was such a good moment.

I’m glad you liked. It’s one of my favorites, too.

Speaking of her grandmother, are we going to see her again? Are we going to see Blue’s brother again? Are we going to hear about what’s going on with their relationship now that they’re both free of that cult?

The short answer is possibly, but the longer answer is, her brother has to deal with a few legal challenges. He’s not without some kind of complicity in what goes down in Episode 2, as you know, and so he won’t be popping up straight away.

But I think in a sort of broader sense, in terms of family, like I was saying before, the discovery of Blue’s backstory has actually made where Blue has ended up much more clearly a version of family for her than she’s ever experienced. So, I feel like the exploration of family for Blue will be, to a very large extent, seen through the lens of NCIS because as you say, she’s got a kind of grandfather figure in Doc, she’s got a mother and a father figure in Mackey and JD, she’s got siblings in Evie [Tuuli Narkle] and DeShawn [Sean Sagar] and increasingly Trigger [Claude Jabbour]. So, I feel really excited, and I know Marvournee does in the portrayal of Blue, she’s finally found her people, and that’s profound, and it will allow her to go to places that she felt unable to go to before that.

You brought up Mackey and JD, and they have that exchange at the end about how they’re the only ones who know that Blue’s an ex-felon. How do they feel about keeping that to themselves, and how is that going to blow up in their faces?

They feel conflicted, and it will, is the short answer. I mean, it’s like any mother and dad, right? You find out something about your kid, you’re like, “Oh, man, do we tell their brother and sisters? Do we tell the cousins? Do we tell a school teacher, or do we just try and keep this to ourselves and hope it goes away?” And back to the theme of Season 3, which is that you can’t outrun your past, here is an example of Mackey and JD deciding to actively try and outrun their past. Well, we know how that ends up — not well — so it will come back to roost, but for now they’re caught in that tricky situation where they’ve only just put it back, what do you do? You can’t throw her to the wolves. If Blue is feeling like, for the first time, she’s found her people, Mackey and JD feel the responsibility of having provided her with that, too. But yeah, you’re absolutely bang on. The chickens will come home to roost, that’s for sure.

Is there any possibility of any type of crossover whatsoever? Or might we just keep getting maybe mentions of characters from the other shows? Anything like that?

Look, never say never. It’s a really tricky one for us because we are kind of exotically poised in the southern hemisphere about as far from continental United States as you can get. But we are really mindful of how fun those crossovers are, and we’re kind of actively exploring all those possibilities. So I suppose watch this space is the best I can say without being coy.

Todd Lasance as AFP Liaison Officer Sergeant Jim 'JD' Dempsey and Olivia Swann as NCIS Special Agent Captain Michelle Mackey — 'NCIS: Sydney' Season 3 Episode 2 "True Blue"

Daniel Asher Smith/Paramount+

With this theme of you can’t on your past, we’ve talked about what’s going on with Mackey. We just had Blue face that. Who’s next up?

The truth of the matter is everyone in their own way gets their dose of that medicine. In a comedic sense, we’re talking about JD and his dating and sort of throwing himself back into that terrifying horror show of modern dating. It’s actually JD reacting to his past in a way that’s not genuinely authentic because he’s not actually acknowledging the elephant in the room. He’s trying to pretend the elephant’s not there. “What elephant? There’s no elephant here.” And so when that comes back to hit him, it’s going to smack him in the teeth, too. For Evie and DeShawn, deeper into the series, as the arc starts to solidify, we’ll discover that DeShawn is in possession of a piece of information that Mackey is not, but it pertains to Mackey.

From the JAG days?

Possibly, yeah. He’s made a whole bunch of decisions around what to do with that information, and history will be the judge as to whether those decisions have been right or not. But again, he has made the decision to try and outrun that information, and the information loads him down. So, everyone gets a taste of it across the season, which is really exciting. And it doesn’t feel forced or contrived, it’s just that’s the nature of being a human, isn’t it? If we’re not honest with where we’re at, eventually, where we’re at makes us honest one way or another.

Cult fit founder shares 4 exercises to do for strong knees if your parents are struggling to walk now

As our parents or grandparents grow older, their ability to perform certain daily activities also depletes. For women, their bones grow weak, especially if they don’t work out regularly or do strength training. According to Mayo Clinic, loss of estrogen in women due to menopause and lower testosterone levels in men increases bone loss and can also lead to the development of osteoporosis.

Training your knees isn’t just for the gym—it’s for everyday life. This is how you move better, without pain holding you back.

Diving straight into strength training may not be a plausible route for many. In a September 22 Instagram video, Rishabh Telang, co-founder of Cult Fit, shared 4 exercises that he makes his 63-year-old mother do to build stronger knees. So, even if you are going to the gym or just starting out, these exercises could help you move better.

4 exercises for stronger knees

Sharing the videos featuring the 4 exercises, the Cult Fit founder wrote, “You shouldn’t have to think twice before taking the stairs, kneeling on the floor, or walking longer distances. Training your knees isn’t just for the gym—it’s for everyday life. This is how you move better, without pain holding you back.”

1. Hip thrusts

In this assisted form of hip thrust exercise, lie down on the floor near an elevated surface like a sofa, and keep your heels on the edge of the sofa. Now, with your palms resting on the floor, lift your hips off the floor and thrust them up in the air. Repeat this motion to do the exercise.

2. Leg raises

This is another form of assisted exercise, where you can ask your parents to sit on the edge of the sofa or a chair, with a straight spine, thighs parallel to the ground, and feet firmly placed. Now, raise your legs in the air, parallel to the ground, and repeat the motion for each leg.

3. Calf raises

To do this exercise, stand in front of an armchair, and using it for balance, do the calf raises by lifting your heel off the ground and balancing your body on your toes. You feel the pull in your calves. Keep your spine straight for the routine.

4. Feet raises

Sit on a chair or a sofa. Now, while keeping your spine straight, raise your toes off the ground with your heels placed on the floor.

Abhishek Kapoor Reflects on Directing the Cult Classic Rock On

In 2008, filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor directed Rock On!!, a musical drama that continues to be celebrated for its songs, feels, and deep characters. Having received critical acclaim, the film celebrates its 17th anniversary today, and Kapoor marks this occasion by talking about his directorial journey and how the audiences continue to connect with it even after 17 years.

Abhishek Kapoor Talks About Directing The Cult Classic

Celebrating 17 years of the cult classic, Abhishek Kapoor says, “I can’t believe Rock On!! has come 17 years far! Time truly flies so fast! It’s incredible, and the fact that the viewers continue to return to it to relive its freshness is an achievement in itself. The joy of creating this film, directing it and bringing together some of the most talented actors and crew was magical. Rock On!! is a multi-character film, and I’m glad it all came together at the end.”

Filmmakers create films for the box office, audience and more, but what makes Abhishek Kapoor a standout creator is that he makes films for himself. He creates films that could leave an impression. By touching the nooks and corners of emotions, friendships, passion, talent and self-discovery, Abhishek Kapoor curates spectacles that stay, with emotions that linger and a message that remains long after the credits roll!

Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Luke Kenny and others came together to blend the music of life into the fabric of a film. Being at the receiving end of critical acclaim, Rock On!! proved to be the perfect litmus test to showcase Bollywood’s maturity. In 2010, Rock On!! was honoured with two National Film Awards, including Best Feature Film in Hindi and Best Supporting Actor (Arjun Rampal).

Do You Think Thama Is Somehow Connected To Tumbbad?
Bollywood

Is Ayushmann Khurrana’s Horror Rom-Com Connected To Cult Classic Tumbbad?

by jummy84 August 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Does Maddock Films’ Thama Have Any Connection To Tumbbad?(Photo Credit –YouTube/Facebook)

The teaser for Thama is creating waves among the audience. The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe fans are already thrilled and can’t wait to see Thama on the big screens. Following the teaser release, we have been speculating about its possible connection with the cult classic horror mystery film Tumbbad.

Why Is Thama’s Connection With Tumbbad Speculated?

Many believe Tumbbad is one of the best films India has ever produced. The movie got the real buzz after its re-release last September. The film is based on human greed and focuses on ‘Purti ki Devi,’ which means ‘The Goddess of Prosperity.’ Hastar, the film’s main evil, is Purti ki Devi’s son.

When you watch the teaser of Thama, you see a similar depiction of a deity who appears to be like Tumbbad’s Purti Ki Devi. You can pause the trailer around 00:45 to see the portrayal. Now, if you compare it with the poster of Tumbbad, the deity in that movie is very similar. This is why we couldn’t help but assume about the Tumbbad and Thama connection, but there is no truth to it. The observation is only part of a speculative theory.

It’s possible that Thama may follow the path of Tumbbad to show the greed angle or may just take a reference from Purti ki Devi, but there is no chance of a crossover between the two films. Additionally, both movies belong to different universes, making it more unlikely to have a direct connection as such.

When Is Thama Expected To Release In Theaters?

The next installment of Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is set to be released this Diwali. The date is yet to be announced, but Diwali is the occasion that the Maddock is promoting as the release date of the movie. This means that you just have to wait a few more months as Diwali will take place between October 18 and 23, 2025.

Cult Gaia Fall 2025 Ready-to-Wear Collection

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

As a certified LA It girl, Cult Gaia’s Jasmin Larian Hekmat knows what young women want in their clothes—they want to feel sexy and cool. They flock to her label because the designer is so good at finding the balance between force and femininity in her collections.

Every season, Hekmat goes to Paris for market. As she walked around the city taking in all the art and especially the sculptures, her fall collection began to come to life. She noticed that “the female sculptures are always stopped in movement,” and decided to “dig into that concept.” Bags like her “boob” clutch look like they’re chiseled out of stone, while the hero print of the season, a rich brown and yellow floral print named “Alice,” looks like it’s blurred in movement.

But the collection’s standouts were its simplest pieces, where Hekmat’s keen eye for detail becomes evident; like the leather jacket with built-in magnets at the collar so that it can be adapted from a classic zip-up to a biker style. “You know I grew up in a world of unboxing,” she said. “I want my customers to always be unpacking the products. I want my girl to always feel like every time she wears my stuff, she experiences that joy.”
