Are Crush and Joy Still Dating Each Other?

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Crush and Joy are still happily together. The couple, who started dating in 2021, recently silenced breakup rumours with a sweet moment at Joy’s younger sister’s wedding on October 18, 2025. The moment impressed their fans as many lauded the couple for being with each other despite their busy idol careers.

For those unaware, speculation about their split began late last year due to their busy schedules. However, Crush’s touching gesture at the wedding proved otherwise. An attendee shared that the singer performed the congratulatory song for Joy’s sister. He showed his support for his girlfriend’s family.

Earlier, on I Live Alone, Joy mentioned feeling nervous about singing at her sister’s wedding. However, it seems Crush took the stage instead, performing his hit OST Beautiful from Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.

Many photos and videos from the event showed Crush in a neat sweater and glasses. He was serenading guests with his warm vocals and presence.

Crush and Joy first met while collaborating on Mayday in 2020. Their agencies, SM Entertainment and P NATION, confirmed their relationship in August 2021, saying they had grown close after working together and developed mutual feelings. “They had a senior-junior relationship initially, but they recently began dating with good feelings towards each other.” However, the two kept their relationship private. Fans kept speculating about their whereabouts, but the couple did not disclose their personal plans to the public.

On the professional front, both Crush and Joy haven’t updated their fans about their upcoming projects yet. However, Joy recently released an album called From Joy, with Love. Opening up about it, she said, “Releasing an album that fully expresses my emotions once felt vague and daunting, but thanks to so many people who helped me, I’m just filled with gratitude these days… Since I put everything into preparing this album, I hope many people will listen and love it.”

Crush: 40th Anniversary Edition

OMD

Virgin

17 October 2025

In 1988, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark served as the opening act for Depeche Mode‘s American tour. At one show, at Poplar Creek Music Theatre in Chicago, OMD’s singer Andy McCluskey lamented, “America is the only place we’re still cool.” This turn of events couldn’t have come as a complete surprise, though. In many ways, it was by design.

OMD’s third album, Architecture & Morality (1981), had been a worldwide smash. Since then, though, the synthpop pioneers had grown frustrated that they couldn’t maintain their level of commercial success. Furthermore, they were deeply indebted to their record label, Virgin. So, they set their sights on the US, where they were still very much an underground act. In the memoir Pretending to See the Future, McCluskey and bandmate Paul Humphreys make no bones about the fact that they wanted to “break America”.

The first step was to recruit an American producer, someone who could help finesse their sound for Top 40 radio. McCluskey and Humphreys chose Stephen Hague. Hague would soon enough become a synthpop Svengali, helping lead Pet Shop Boys, New Order, and Erasure to the promised land of American airplay and sales. At the time, however, he was relatively unknown, a former member of Jules Shear’s power pop band, Jules and the Polar Bears, whose biggest production client was the former Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren.

The result of Hague’s and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark’s collaboration was Crush. Indeed, in terms of America, the mission was accomplished. The first single, “So in Love”, made the Top 40, as did Crush itself. Both were firsts for the band, but there was a significant trade-off. For many fans, especially in the UK, who were transfixed by Architecture & Morality and its forward-thinking predecessors, Crush was the beginning of OMD’s nadir. To them, it was a melodic yet vapid, catchy yet pandering sellout. Crush was the first OMD album since their 1980 debut to miss the UK Top Ten. It was their lowest-selling record to date there, as well.

Now, though, McCluskey and Humphreys can reintroduce Crush from a position of strength. Their reunion in 2006 has yielded a run of new material that, in large part, has righted the pop/art balance, leaving no question about OMD’s legacy as one of the most significant and groundbreaking bands of the last half-century. Among the titans in their catalog, Crush remains a junior proposition.

However, 40 years on, from the wonderful Edward Hopper-inspired cover art to the effortlessly melodic, surprisingly timeless music within, it is a self-contained, ultra-romantic package that both encapsulates and transcends the 1980s. Indeed, OMD had never sounded this sleek, this sexy, this cool before, nor would they again.

“So in Love” is a perfect representation of what Crush is all about. The driving beat, inside-out bassline, and luxuriously ethereal string synths set the stage for McCluskey’s mournfully wide-eyed baritone. It’s super-sleek, yes, but far from vapid. Instead, it is the rare 1980s pop single that is actually as debonair as it claims to be.

Similarly, each of the other nine songs on Crush unfolds like a vignette, with different stylistic approaches coming together to form a cohesive whole. That is where Hague is a strength. “Bloc Bloc Bloc” is jazzy and irresistibly hedonistic and nonsensical, while “Women III” examines the conflicted existence of a suburban housewife in biting yet sympathetic fashion: “One day she thinks of leaving him / The next she treats him like a king… / It’s a long way home / From where she’s come.” The music is suitably chilly and ambivalent—is that synth chorus defiant or mocking?

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark expand some boundaries on Crush, just not in the way most fans expected or hoped for. “88 Seconds in Greensboro”, about a deadly Ku Klux Klan attack in 1979, continues McCluskey’s penchant for history, but it also does away with the synths almost entirely, opting for a New Order-ish, guitar-bass-drums feel. “Hold You” is the most tender thing the band have ever recorded, nearly but not quite a straight-up love song. “La Femme Accident” is whimsical yet lovely chamber pop.

Even the remnants of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark’s early experimental days are evident on Crush. The title track, built on a sequence of samples from Japanese television, is odd and mesmerizing, as a down-on-love McCluskey curses the “fucking rain”.

This 40th anniversary reissue features some dated remixes, a handful of B-sides, and studio outtakes, all annotated by McCluskey. Hardcore fans will be curious, but only the even more tender demo version of “Hold You” is worth more than a listen. The vinyl version omits three outtakes from the CD, but that’s not a significant issue.

Especially in the 1980s, there were more than a few UK acts that aspired to “break America”, only to find themselves broken in the end. In the years following Crush, this fate would also befall OMD. Crush, though, takes on America in true world-class fashion.

2 September 2025

Charisma Carpenter got starstruck when she finally met “crush” Dermot Mulroney.

Charisma Carpenter has opened up about meeting her ‘crush’

The 55-year-old former Buffy The Vampire Slayer star – who played Cordelia Chase in Buffy and its Angel spinoff between 1997 and 2004 – finally got to meet her dream man over the weekend when the 61-year-old actor was also a guest at GalaxyCon Nightmare Weekend in Ohio.

In a TikTok video with fans, she said: “So I don’t really know why Dermot Mulroney is here, but it doesn’t matter because it makes me so happy that he is.

“I am literally probably his biggest fan… Probably since, I don’t know, way before I was ever married.

“So I’m talking like [1997,] My Best Friend’s Wedding. I just love him in that movie. He’s just a good guy.”

She recalled his “talented” turn in Shameless, and insisted he is “so crushable at the same time”.

Her handler at the horror convention encouraged her to approach the Scream 6 star, and she “got some comfortable” she “ended up crashing his photo op”.

She got a picture with the actor, and revealed she once auditioned to appear opposite him in Chicago Fire, but missed out on the role.

She said: “He was just so sweet and kind.”

Although Dermot said they should “manifest” working together in the future, Charisma joked that she had other ideas.

She quipped: “I was like, no no, Dermot, you need to manifest being my husband.

“[I didn’t actually] say that. But that’s what I was thinking.”

Charisma got married to Damian Hardy in 2002 and welcomed son Donovan into the world in 2003, but she and her husband got divorced five years later.

Dermot – who was previously married to Catherine Keener, with whom he has son Clyde – tied the knot with Prima Apollinaare in 2008.

However, he filed for divorce from his wife – with whom he has kids Mabel, 17, and Sally, 15 – in June, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

Swara Bhasker reacts to backlash over ‘everyone is bisexual’ comment, changes her Twitter bio to ‘girl crush advocate’

Actor Swara Bhasker is facing intense backlash on social media after stating that “all humans are fundamentally bisexual” and revealing she has a crush on Samajwadi Party Lok Sabha MP Dimple Yadav. Now, the actor has reacted to the criticism by changing her bio on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Swara Bhasker is married to Fahad Ahmad.

Swara reacts

Swara has been under fire on social media since her “we all are bisexuals” comment surfaced on social media, with many criticising her views.

On Friday, Swara took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to acknowledge the buzz and react to it. She posted, “Thought it’s time to change the bio (giggling emoji).”

Her Twitter bio now reads, “Girl crush advocate. Part time actor, full time Twitter pest. Chaos Queen. Shopping my way through the apocalypse. Free Palestine.” The addition of “Girl crush advocate” is a nod to the whole buzz and murmurs on social media after her confession of having a crush on Dimple.

The actor also shared a screenshot of the definition of girl crush, writing, “Honestly… what is the big deal?”

What did Swara Bhasker say

During an interview with Screen, Swara spoke about her view on sexuality. She was accompanied by her husband and politician Fahad Ahmad during the chat. Swara said heterosexuality is an “ideology” that had been thrust on human beings. The interview went live five months back, but Swara’s statement surfaced on social media recently and went viral.

“We are all bisexual. If you leave people to themselves, we are actually bisexuals, but heterosexuality is an ideology that has been (put in us) culturally for thousands of years. Because that is how the human race will perpetuate, so it has to be the norm,” Swara said.

In middle of the interview, the host went in to ask who she had a crush on. To which, Swara mentioned the name of Samajwadi Party Lok Sabha MP Dimple Yadav. She also said that she met Dimple recently. The actor’s comments were met with intense backlash on social media.

More about Swara

Swara along with husband Fahad, is currently seen in the reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga—Jodiyon Ka Reality Check. The show is hosted by Munawar Faruqui and Sonali Bendre. The show features popular celebrity couples and challenges their chemistry by testing and twisting their relationships.

Swara and Fahad registered their marriage under the Special Marriage Act on 6 January 2023, and publicly announced it with a video on February 16 2023. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Raabiyaa, in September 2023.
