Crew 2 Update: Kareena Kapoor Confirmed, But Kriti Sanon And Tabu’s Future Uncertain | Glamsham.com

Following the success of her 2024 comedy-drama Crew, Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to return in its sequel. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Crew 2 has been officially confirmed and is currently in development. Kareena, who played an air hostess entangled in a gold-smuggling scheme, has expressed strong interest in reprising her role.

A source close to the project revealed, “Crew has strong potential to evolve into a franchise. The team has brainstormed several ideas and has now locked one that naturally lends itself to Crew 2.” Kareena is reportedly waiting for the final screenplay before signing on, though she’s already shown keen interest in returning.

While Kareena’s comeback is confirmed, the involvement of her co-stars Kriti Sanon and Tabu remains uncertain. The makers are reportedly considering casting new A-list actresses if the original stars choose not to return. “The idea is to continue the franchise with three A-list actresses. Kareena is locked in, and other casting decisions are currently under wraps,” the source added.

Crew, directed by Rajesh A. Krishnan, earned critical praise and crossed ₹100 crore at the box office. The film stood out for its female-led narrative, witty humour, and thrilling plot.

Meanwhile, Kareena is also preparing for Daayra, a gritty crime-drama thriller directed by Meghna Gulzar. Starring opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film explores the complex dynamics of crime, punishment, and justice. Daayra promises a deep and intense portrayal of societal issues, marking Meghna’s return after Sam Bahadur (2023). Co-written by Meghna, Yash, and Sima, the film is expected to deliver a hard-hitting narrative rooted in realism.

Kareena Kapoor Khan to play a crucial role in Crew 2 ?

In 2024, Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Tabu collaborated for the first time in the Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor-produced film, Crew. The film went on to achieve success in theatres and received positive reviews from the audience. According to reports by Pinkvilla, Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor are considering a sequel to Crew. A source shared, “Crew as a franchise has strong potential to lead itself to a franchise. The team have brainstormed several ideas and finally zeroed down on one which has the potential to seamlessly lead itself into a Crew 2.”

According to the source, it is also mentioned that among the original trio, only Kareena Kapoor will be featured in the film, while the casting for the other two leading roles remains uncertain. The source added, “Kareena has already shown interest in Crew 2, and is waiting to hear the full screenplay before signing the dotted lines. Things are in the nascent stages at the moment, but the entire team is excited to take the franchise route for Crew.”

It’s not confirmed as to whether Kriti Sanon and Tabu will reprise their roles in the Crew franchise, or if the makers will opt for a fresh cast featuring top actors. The source concluded by saying, “The idea at the moment is to make Crew 2 with 3 A-List actresses. Kareena is certain to make a comeback to the world of Crew, and the other details are under-wraps for now.”

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor is currently occupied in filming Dayra with Meghna Gulzar. She is also in talks for several other projects, the specifics of which are currently confidential. There are also early talks regarding a sequel to Veere Di Wedding. The 2018 film featured Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, and Shikha Talsania in lead roles apart from Kareena Kapoor.

‘Deadliest Catch’ Shocker as Keith Colburn Fires Disrespectful Crew Member

Things were getting pretty icy on Deadliest Catch during the September 12 episode. After making his king crab delivery it was off to the bairdi grounds for Captain Sig Hansen. The weather turned into freezing conditions, which brought its challenges. “It’s like fishing in hell,” Sig described.

They ran hard as gear got tangled up in the waters. Through the process his son-in-law Clark Pederson had an idea. What if they placed the pots side-by-side? It was certainly a risk, but Sig was on board. The idea to double-down paid off in return.

Elsewhere, Captain Keith Colburn faced his own challenges. Though it wasn’t the elements that were causing issues but personnel. His crew member Connor found himself at the center of the drama when the greenhorn made a costly mistake with bait. Keith laid down the law in the wheelhouse. “He is the weakest link on the deck.” Keith said. Using the right bait turned things around on The Wizard. Connor was ultimately fired. Keith warned him not to go on deck anymore and get in the crew’s way.

Keith was angered by Connor further after he found out he was insulting the team. His brother Monte helped cool down a bit. When they made it to land, Keith told Connor to “get your sh*t off the boat.” Connor felt he was harassed the whole time, rationalizing that maybe it was because he was Australian. Before parting ways Connor had to sign a separation agreement. He stated he injured his ankle and had galley photos to prove it. Keith asked Connor to see the photos, but wouldn’t show him. Keith felt he was fine. “Make sure you limp on the way out so it looks a little bit believable, would you?”

Things weren’t as rocky on the Titan Explorer, but Captain Jake Anderson still faced some issues finding a good spot for product. A delivery date loomed. If he doesn’t get enough money, Jake can’t buy the boat. This meant he needed to get the pots filled quickly. His strategy was to move things along in spots to increase the speed from seven knots to eight-and-a-half, adjusting throttles from 1300 rpm to 1500 rpm. Engineer Felipe Miramontes was tasked to watch to make sure things didn’t catch fire and what not. Jake walked “the fine line between stupidity and genius by attempting to attract bait on the outside of pots and inside. The risk paid off. The crew then head to the Dutch Harbor for delivery.

Ayushmann Khurrana’s Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 Crew Member Assaulted; Accused Arrested By Police | Glamsham.com

The shoot of highly awaited movie Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, and Wamiqa Gabbi, came to a dramatic halt when there was a violent scuffle on the set. A member of the crew was said to have been attacked by locals while shooting in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, prompting police action and the arrest of the prime accused.

The attack occurred on August 27 when the team was shooting a car scene on Thornhill Road in Prayagraj. The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Abhijeet Kumar stated that a team of locals brutally assaulted Zoheb Solapurwala, production head of BR Chopra Films. This attack spiraled out of control as crew members were physically attacked by a group of people.

An FIR was registered on the next day, August 28, at Civil Lines Police Station following a complaint lodged by BR Chopra Films’ line producer Saurabh Tiwari. The accused, whose name is Meraj Ali, was arrested subsequently, police confirmed.

Viral Videos Capture Chaos on Set

Footage of the scuffle promptly went viral on social media, with two men seen confronting a member of the crew in the middle of a shoot. The exchange remained verbal at first, but soon got out of hand as locals joined in, physically assaulting members of the film crew.

A few onlookers tried to calm the situation, but the fight had already resulted in damage, physical and to the morale of the crew. The producers of Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 as of yet have not issued a statement concerning the incident.
About the Film: A Comic Sequel with a New Cast
Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 is a sequel to the 2019 romantic comedy, where Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday play the lead. The sequel introduces a new set — Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, and Wamiqa Gabbi — of actors. The movie will have Mudassar Aziz behind the camera and has promised a fresh take on the love triangle with established comic actors.
As per the previous reports, the makers were interested in getting new jodis with good comic chemistry. Sara was onboard the moment she heard the script, according to a source, who described it as the perfect script for her.
In spite of the disruption on the set, the shoot of the film is likely to proceed under heightened security.

‘Emily in Paris’ Crew Member Diego Borella Dead After Collapsing on Set

Diego Borella, a locally hired third assistant director, on the Netflix show Emily in Paris, has died. He was 47.

Borella reportedly collapsed on set while the series was filming season five in Venice, Italy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

“We are deeply saddened to confirm the sudden passing of a member of the Emily in Paris production family,” a Paramount Television Studios spokesperson said in a statement to THR. “Our hearts go out to the individual’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”

Borella was pronounced dead at around 7:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, Aug. 21, according to multiple outlets. The tragedy happened while the crew was preparing to film a final scene inside Hotel Danieli in Venice. Medical staff was sent to try to revive Borella; however, he died at the scene of “a sudden heart attack,” the La Repubblica reported.

Earlier this week, Netflix unveiled the first-look images at Emily in Paris season five, which stars Lily Collins and will release on the streamer on Dec. 18.

The synopsis reads: “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”

Also starring in the cast are Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Lucien Laviscount, Eugenio Franceschini, Thalia Besson, Paul Forman, Arnaud Binard, Minnie Driver, Bryan Greenberg and Michèle Laroque.
