Russell Crowe credits 55lb weight loss to cutting back alcohol intake

Russell Crowe says cutting back on his alcohol intake helped him drop 55lbs.

The Gladiator star, 61, loves a tipple, but he now limits booze to “one night a week” and is reaping the benefits, as a year after wrapping filming on Nuremberg, he’s shed an impressive amount of weight.

Appearing on The Joe Rogan Experience, he said: “I’m a big proponent for having a drink.

“But as you get older, there are certain things that you start to learn about your capacities.”

He continued: “Now that I’m an older guy, I know that one night a week—if I’m having fun—is plenty. I try to cut out the interstitial stuff.”

These days, Crowe would rather have one glass of expensive wine as a treat than consume any old drink “for the sake of it”.

He explained: “If I decide I’m going to have a glass of wine with dinner, then it’s going to be a really nice wine.

“I try not to have casual drinks now, having a drink for the sake of it. Those add up.”

The Australian native has also suffered from “deeply arthritic” shoulder and knee injuries, and the treatments for that have helped to reduce his “body’s inflammation”.

He shared: “It’s calmed down my body’s inflammation.

“What was messy a year ago, now has just lessened probably by about 70 per cent. One area in right shoulder, probably by about 90 per cent.”

Crowe quipped: “Now, it’s f****** rock and roll, son.

“It’s all going good.”

Meanwhile, the Nice Guys star recently ruled out getting married again following rumours he and girlfriend Britney Theriot were engaged.

Crowe was previously married to Australian singer and actress Danielle Spencer, with whom he tied the knot in 2003 and divorced in 2018.

The 61-year-old actor and his 33-year-old partner are often rumoured to be engaged, but Crowe insists he doesn’t want to “ruin” his “joyous and happy” life with his partner with a wedding.

Appearing on Sunday’s 60 Minutes last weekend, he said: “All these reports coming out that Britney and I are engaged and I’m going to get married again? No.

“My life is joyous and happy, why ruin that with a wedding?”

He gushed over his five-year relationship: “We respect each other and wake up with a smile, and we are very happy.”

Doubling down on not wanting to walk down the aisle again, he added: “I’ve been married once, and I know where that can go.

“I’m not gonna get married again. Doing it once is cool, but I don’t want to get married again.”

Crowe – who has Charles, 21, and Tennyson, 19, with his ex-spouse – has been dating Britney since 2020.

‘Pluribus’ Credits Note Show “Was Made By Humans”

As artificial intelligence becomes less discernible and more prevalent, Vince Gilligan is setting an example about transparency in Hollywood.

The Pluribus creator, whose new show premiered the first two episodes Friday on Apple TV+, made sure to note in the credits of the post-apocalyptic sci-fi series that the production did not rely on AI.

“This show was made by humans,” reads the credits, following a list of acknowledgments from the producers.

In Pluribus, Rhea Seehorn plays Albuquerque author Carol Sturka, one of 12 people on Earth who is immune to an extraterrestrial virus that transforms everyone in the world into a relentlessly optimistic hive mind.

Gilligan previously slammed AI as he discussed the series. “I have not used ChatGPT, because as of yet, no one has held a shotgun to my head and made me do it,” he told Polygon.

“I will never use it. No offense to anyone who does,” added Gilligan. “I really wasn’t thinking about AI [when I wrote Pluribus], because this was about eight or 10 years ago.”

Meanwhile, Coca-Cola has faced backlash this week for another AI-generated holiday campaign, and the entertainment industry has expressed concern over AI creations like Tilly Norwood replacing human actors and other crew members.

Watch HBO’s ‘Welcome To Derry’ Stunning New Opening Credits

by jummy84 October 31, 2025
written by jummy84

Is this the best new opening credits sequence of the year?

HBO‘s horror-thriller It: Welcome to Derry just revealed a stunner of a credits sequence (watch it below) that debuted on the show’s second episode, which was released on HBO Max a few days early for Halloween.

The phantasmagorical animated sequence peels apart the seemingly idyllic Maine town during the early 1960s to gradually reveal an increasingly horrifying succession of postcard-like tableaus, from Pennywise causing death and destruction to the threat of nuclear war. The sequence is set to the aggressively sunny 1956 song “A Smile and A Ribbon,” by Patience and Prudence, and extends HBO’s track record for creating groundbreaking titles for shows (with previous standouts including The Sopranos, Game of Thrones and Westworld).

The show’s executive producer and director, Andy Muschietti (who made the series along with his creative partner Barbara Muschietti) calls the concept “a descent into dread” that was inspired by the film’s postcard-tourism Welcome to Derry title.

“The name Welcome to Derry felt touristic and brings you to the world of postcards and facade, which has a lot to do with what Derry is — a place that’s seemingly wholesome, but there’s something dreadful under the surface,” says Muschietti, who heavily praised the production studio Filmograph, which created the sequence. “There was a lot of tweaking and calibration — how much is the next step? It reflects our desire to show the big catastrophic events [described in Stephen King’s book IT], all leading to the explosion at the Ironworks.”

The Ironworks factory explosion and other events shown in the credits, however, will not necessarily be depicted in the series, particularly during the first season. Another key event in the sequence is a shootout in the street with the Bradley Gang, which took place during the 1930s.

A crucial component is the song “A Smile and A Ribbon,” which was originally going to be used for a sequence where a character gets ready for school. Then they tried the song for the credits instead, and it fit perfectly. As the images get weirder and darker, the song offers up the unsettling key lyric, “The louder I say I’m happy, the more I believe it’s so.”

“The song is about faking a state of mind, faking a feeling,” Muschietti says. “The message of the song wrapped in such a beautiful tune is dreadful in itself.”

The team at Filmograph also gave some insight into the title’s creation, including one element that went too far even for Muschietti.

“Our assignment was to take the literature [from King’s novel] and take vignettes that also exist in the world of the show and find a way to stitch them together,” said Aaron Becker, a principal and director at Filmograph. “Andy [was] dead set on the idea of taking us back in time through a specific type of medium — the tourist postcards that you would find in like the gift shop in a small town, which worked perfectly for Stephen King’s lexicon and Derry in particular.”

The animation itself was done with CG, but then HBO let them take what they had created and put the final product on film, which added a bit of grainy realism to the end result. “And the nice thing is that Andy kept saying, ‘I want the dirtiest-looking version.’”

The grain also meshed well with the song, which has record scratches and pops as part of its original recording. “We got the track and we dropped it in, it almost lined up perfectly,” said Troy James Miller, Filmograph producer. “We realized this is the perfect track for this. And now it’s been in my head for the last year.”

“It just made what we did look so much better, because the song itself is so jarring,” Becker added. “It mirrors the characters’ arc as children coming of age, trying to convince themselves that their biggest fears aren’t real.”

“We imagine viewers really looking at this from an Easter egg perspective, just like the show,” noted
Seth Kleinberg, a Filmograph principal and executive producer. “There’s so much opportunity to not skip the intro and to really look at the finite details of what we’ve created, and I think that that’s really special. This is seriously one of our most favorite projects we’ve done.”

The sequence also has literal Easter eggs during its climactic postcard showing the explosion at Ironworks, which took place during an Easter egg hunt in 1908. A girl running from the flames originally was going to have eyeballs popping out, but that proved one step too far Muschietti. “That was too much and we dialed that back,” Kleinberg said.

And just because it’s pretty rare you have three experts in making opening title sequences on a Zoom call at one time, we couldn’t resist asking each of them what was their favorite all-time credits. And the trio came back with: David Fincher’s Seven, Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest and David Chase’s The Sopranos.

Deepika Padukone’s Name Is Still In Kalki Credits – The Truth Revealed! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 30, 2025
written by jummy84

Fans of Deepika Padukone were recently stirred after posts circulated on social media claiming her name had been removed from the end credits of the pan-India blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD. The posts suggested that after backlash, her name was later “added back” on the streaming platforms. However, multiple fact-checks and an insider source denied any deliberate omission. According to the source, Deepika’s name has always appeared in the official credits of Kalki 2898 AD across languages and OTT platforms — the confusion arose from how credits are updated on streaming services, which is a multi-step process involving global syncs, file replacements and quality checks, and cannot simply be changed overnight.

The spark for the controversy lies in her confirmed exit from the film’s sequel. In September 2025, the production house Vyjayanthi Movies officially announced that Deepika would not be part of Kalki 2898 AD 2, saying: “After careful consideration… we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like #Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more.” Shortly afterwards, reports surfaced claiming the actor had asked for a 25 % hike in fees and insisted on a maximum seven-hour daily shoot schedule — conditions which the makers reportedly found difficult to accommodate in a high-budget, VFX-intensive film.

In the wake of that exit, fans began scrutinising the OTT versions of the film. Some claimed that one version of the film’s credits did not list Deepika’s name, citing screenshots and viral clips to support the claim. However, verification by several outlets found that her name is visible in all language versions (Hindi version on Netflix, and Telugu/Tamil/Malayalam/Kannada versions on Amazon Prime Video). Fact-checkers pointed out that the confusion may stem from file versions, caching, regional updates or glitchy video clips rather than a deliberate removal.

While the matter appears to have been clarified — at least by public sources — the episode shines a spotlight on how streaming platforms handle credit updates (which can be slow) and how fandoms react swiftly to perceived slights. It also underscores how the dynamics between actors and big-scale productions (regarding schedule, commitment, fees) are increasingly under scrutiny in the Indian film industry.

Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone, who played a crucial role in Prabhas’s blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD, is once again in the headlines. Months after reports surfaced that the actress had been dropped from the film’s sequel, a new controversy has erupted this time over the removal of her name from the film’s end credits on OTT platforms. A sharp-eyed fan recently noticed that Deepika Padukone’s name was missing from the end credits of Kalki 2898 AD on streaming platforms.

The fan took to X to call out the filmmakers for their apparent lack of respect, writing, “Credits aren’t just names at the end of a film. They’re gratitude, accountability, and respect for the work done. When someone like Deepika Padukone, who played a key role in shaping the emotional aspect of Kalki, isn’t given credit even months after its OTT release…” The post quickly went viral, sparking a heated discussion among netizens and Deepika’s loyal fanbase.

Following the viral post, several fans began criticizing Vyjayanthi Films, the production house behind Kalki 2898 AD. One user angrily commented, “@VyjayanthiFilms has removed Deepika Padukone from the end credits of ‘Kalki Part 1’ on OTT platforms… Probably the worst production house ever! Will removing her name from the credits take away her impact on the film? Really?”

Fans expressed disappointment that despite her significant contribution to the first part, Deepika’s name was removed, calling it an act of disrespect and unprofessionalism. In September 2025, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD officially announced that Deepika Padukone would not return for the sequel. The production team released a statement on social media, saying: “It is officially announced that Deepika Padukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we couldn’t work out a partnership. A film like ‘Kalki’ deserves commitment.”

Months after Deepika Padukone was officially removed from the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD, reports now claim that her name has also been removed from the end-credits of the first film on OTT platforms. A fan on X (formerly Twitter) posted screenshots and argued: “Credits aren’t just names at the end of a movie.

They’re acknowledgment, accountability, and respect for the work put in. When someone like Deepika, who’s played a pivotal role in shaping the emotional core of ‘Kalki’, isn’t credited even after months of OTT release…” The post sparked a wave of reactions, including calls for accountability. One fan blasted the production house Vyjayanthi Films, saying: “You guys removed Deepika’s name from end credits… Maybe the worst production house to exist… you deserve to rot in hell lmao… Removing her name from end-credits will remove her impact from the film? Seriously?”

In September this year, Vyjayanthi Films had tweeted that Deepika will “not be a part of the upcoming sequel” of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Their statement read: “After careful consideration… we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works.”

Multiple reports claim the split stemmed from Deepika demanding a 25 % fee hike for the sequel paired with a seven-hour work day; the makers were reportedly unwilling to meet both demands.

She later addressed the situation in an interview with CNBC-TV18, speaking about working conditions and pay parity in Bollywood: “I have done this at many levels; this is not new to me… I’m someone who has always fought my battles silently. And for some strange reason, sometimes they become public … to fight my battles silently and in a dignified way is the way I know.”

Did Kalki 2898 AD Makers Remove Deepika Padukone’s Name From Credits? Here’s The Truth

by jummy84 October 29, 2025
written by jummy84

It was announced some time back that Deepika Padukone would not be a part of Kalki 2898 AD’s sequel. And now, netizens feel that after her exit from the film, her name has also been removed from the first instalment. Her fans took to social media to point out that the end credits of Kalki 2898 AD on an OTT platform do not have the actress’ name.

A user posted a video of the end credits on Reddit, which missed out Deepika’s name. This sparked a major discussion on the platform, with some accusing the makers of being ‘petty’. While others argued that this could simply be a backend issue. One comment read, “It’s one thing to have a falling out but this is just downright unprofessional. She’s literally in the film and promoted it. The irony here is that they called Deepika unprofessional but then turn around and behave like this.”

Another netizen added, “Ya they are being petty at this point.” One person also claimed that the Blu-ray version they downloaded doesn’t have Deepika’s name either.

However, another user shared that the actress’ name was never present at the end credits during the release as well. “No it was never there from the beginning. They missed adding her during release also. (which they didn’t bother to correct in ott release also and was already brought to their attention),” the comment read. However, the Hindi version of the film on Netflix has Deepika Padukone’s name in the credits. Posting a screenshot of the same, a user pointed out that it might simply be a backend issue.

However, this issue has divided the internet.

For the uninitiated, Deepika reportedly exited Kalki’s sequel because her request to limit her working hours was not met. She also exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit over similar issues.

Meanwhile, the actress will now be seen in Siddharth Anand’s King, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan, among others. She will also appear in Atlee’s upcoming project AA22xA6 alongside Allu Arjun.

Bobby Deol Credits Ranbir Kapoor For Elevating Animal

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Bobby Deol’s impressive comeback as the antagonist Abrar Haque in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, alongside Ranbir Kapoor, received immense praise, even though his role was relatively brief. Despite some fans saying he overshadowed Ranbir’s performance, Bobby’s recent interview shows his humility and admiration for his co-star’s talent.

On being questioned about the claims, Bobby responded to an entertainment portal reporter, “Aisa kuchh nahi hai. Agar Ranbir ko 3 ghante sambhaalne the, mujhe sirf 15 minutes sambhaalne the. Agar Ranbir woh 3 ghante nahi sambhaal paata toh mere 15 minutes ka koi value nahi hota (It’s nothing like that. Ranbir had to carry the film for three hours, while I only had to manage 15 minutes. If Ranbir hadn’t handled those three hours well, then my 15 minutes wouldn’t have held any value).” He credited the huge impact of his character’s short appearance to Ranbir’s intensity, further stating, “It happened because of how Ranbir performed his character. If he hadn’t done it right, my entry wouldn’t have meant anything.”

Bobby also talked about the factors that contributed to the popularity of Animal. He added, “See, an action film, a drama, only works when you have a strong antagonist and a strong protagonist. Both have to work towards winning. It can’t be that you know from the start who’s going to win. Then it’s no fun – not for the audience either.”

Bobby’s intense performance as Abrar Haque marked his grand return to Bollywood. His much-loved entrance song, Jamal Kudu, transformed him into a social media meme source, sparking a trend, hence making his short screen time memorable.

Despite Abrar’s death in Animal, the story is set to continue. Ranbir Kapoor is slated to revisit his role in Animal Park, the eagerly awaited sequel, which is expected to delve further into the psychological conflicts introduced in the first film. Bobby said that the filming is scheduled to start in 2027, thus setting the stage for another intense chapter within the Animal universe.
