All moderated by IndieWire features writer Jim Hemphill, the Craft Roundtables comprise four panel discussions filmed at Lumen West LA November 8 focusing on cinematography, casting, production design, and editing from movies that will be part of the awards conversation in the months ahead.

“These roundtables are a reminder that craft isn’t an abstraction,” said Dana Harris-Bridson, senior VP and Editor in Chief at IndieWire. “It’s the lived experience of some of the most inventive artists working today. Allen Iverson Launches New Craft THC Soda, IVERSON, With Viola

Much like how he reinvented things on the court, Allen Iverson is looking to influence the next wave — but with his own unique twist. The NBA Hall of Famer is partnering up with Viola once again to launch IVERSON, a craft THC soda. The exciting new drink is produced in with Horticulture Co., a leading innovator in plant-based wellness products.

The legendary Philadelphia 76ers player, who recently announced his sobriety journey, is motivated to help consumers find a potential alternative to alcohol after this “life-changing” decision. IVERSON is a low-dose, plant-powered beverage that is “designed for those seeking calm, balance, and connection without compromise.” Keeping the new generation of consumers in mind, IVERSON blends premium THC with natural fruit flavors for a controlled experience.

“Allen and Viola have always been about breaking barriers and leading culture,” said Al Harrington, CEO and Founder of Viola. “Partnering with Horticulture Co. allows us to take that same mission nationwide — creating a product that brings wellness and community together in a new way.” Iverson has previously collaborated with Viola for the “Iverson ’01” cannabis strain.

The line arrives with three flavors that serve as nods to Iverson’s legacy:

Bubba Chuck Berry – a bold, fruity blend inspired by Iverson’s nickname and signature energy.

Cran-Apple Crossover – a crisp, refreshing fusion that pays homage to his unforgettable moves on and off the court.

96 Nectarine – a smooth, golden flavor celebrating the year he entered the league and changed basketball culture forever.

IVERSON will be rolling out nationwide beginning on Oct. 20 at Specs, Total Wine, and Circle K locations, and online at drinkviola.com.

In addition to his new drink collab, The Answer recently debuted his memoir, Misunderstood. The book is an intimate, first-person recap of his childhood, the journey to superstardom, and the trials and tribulations along the way. It recently landed on the New York Times Best Seller list, and you can buy it here.

EXCLUSIVE: Rahul Dev States Craft Matters More Than Going To Gyms

Rahul Dev confessed that acting matters more than going to the gym and building a body for actors. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actor recalls building six-pack abs in the beginning of his career. Scroll down to read what he said and watch the full interview.

Rahul Dev States Craft Matters More Than Going To Gyms

When asked about the struggles faced by him in the industry, the actor said, “Agar aap yaha negative roles se aage aagaye, toh mujhe kai baar lagta tha ki yaar koi humein dusre kisam ke roles de, not purely hero-villain wala chakkar. Kyunki main is industry ka pehle se hissa nahin hu, bahar se aaya hu.
Aur jin logon se main seekhne ki koshish kar raha tha uss time ki craft hota kya hai. Sabse pehle toh yeh hai ki craft kya hai aapka? Lekin uss yeh bhi disha galat ho gayi thi ki hum log sirf six-pack banane mein lage hue the.”

He further added, “Woh bhi ek tarah se kaam aa gaya Champion mein, unhe ek balwan negative actor chahiye tha Sunny ke opposite Aur unka screen image itna bada tha, matlab yaar, jo aadmi handpump ukhaad ke poori train wapas le aaye Hindustan, sochiye na!”

Rahul Dev On Physical Training

Talking about actors that focus on physical training for their acting careers, Rahul said, “Toh toh uss wajah se, aur jab aap ek kisi shaili mein tayyar nahin hote, toh mujhe lagta hai ki bohot saare log jab mujhse milte hain bolte hain, yaar main training kar raha hoon acting ki aur gym ja raha hoon.
Yaar gym aap tab jao zaroor lekin Main yeh isliye keh raha hoon kyunki logon ko lagta hai ki yaar exercise bada important hai. Lekin mujhe lagta hai ki kisi bhi director, jab aapse milta hai na, especially achhe wale directors, ya koi accha writer hai..ab toh casting directors bhi bohot accurate aa gaye hain ki kaunsa role chahiye.”

He added, “Phir doosra yeh hai ki director aur kahani mein kya depth dikhana chah raha hai voh. Uske irdh-girdh ke characters select hote hain aajkal. Aur kabhi-kabhi ho sakta hai aap unhe convince kar do ki yaar humein le lo, lagta toh nahin hoon waise magar aapko dikha dunga. Woh again kismaat hai, woh aapki conviction hai. But in the end, they are very clear. Directors are very clear who they want to cast, aur casting directors bhi. Brief unke paas already hota hai. Main uss accha kaam ki baat kar raha hoon jo ab ho raha hai.”

Rahul Dev will be seen in Welcome to the Jungle and The Saga of Rashtriya Rifles.

Jacob Elordi, Sofia Coppola, Gemma Chan, and More Toasted to the “Craft of Cinema” With Cartier at Venice Film Festival

On Friday night in Venice, the grande dame hotels lining the Grand Canal were abuzz with parties as the film world headed back from premieres on the Lido and were ready to celebrate their films over a negroni or two. And few events were quite as starry as the dinner held at the Gritti Palace by Cartier and the cult film magazine A Rabbit’s Foot, which saw the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Charles Finch, welcome guests for a dinner of vegetable risotto and grilled fish. Those arriving to the hotel jetty for the evening included Jacob Elordi, in town to promote his starring role in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein; Sofia Coppola and Francis Ford Coppola; Bugonia’s Alicia Silverstone; and the president of this year’s Venice Film Festival jury, Alexander Payne.

Naturally, a series of speeches soon followed, all honoring the “craft of cinema.” First, Finch raised a glass to Cartier’s longstanding commitment to supporting filmmakers (this is the fourth year that the French jewelry house has served as the main sponsor and official partner of the Venice Film Festival). Then, Cartier’s SVP chief marketing officer Arnaud Carrez offered his thanks to Finch for partnering on the event, as well as to the illustrious roll-call of artists seated around the room.

Finally, it was time to head to the Gritti rooftop, which had been transformed for the evening into Venice’s most glittering open-air nightclub for the after-party, with actors Rashida Jones, Gemma Chan, and George Mackay all arriving to sip Champagne and take in the sweeping views over to the dramatically lit Santa Maria della Salute church and the lagoon beyond. Even as those with premieres and press junkets the next day began to peel off, the party continued late into the night as guests blew off steam after a busy first few days at the festival—and left the party chattering about the rest of the films to come over the next week.
