Jennifer Lawrence says some of her past male co-stars would ‘punish’ her if she turned down their advances

Revealing their lewd behaviour during a discussion about intimacy on set for her new film Die My Love, the 35-year-old Oscar-winning actress made the remarks while appearing on the Las Culturistas podcast, hosted by comedians Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers.

Jennifer said she did not need an intimacy co-ordinator for Die My Love, which co-stars Robert Pattinson, 39, but emphasised he was not among the actors who had mistreated her.

She said: “A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to f*** them. And then the punishment starts.”

Bowen and Matt reacted with surprise, before Matt joked: “Just a little cute social punishment.”

Jennifer then added, in an exaggerated, mock-serious tone: “I’ve just heard of this, I’ve never experienced it… .”

Discussing her experience filming Die My Love, Jennifer said she felt comfortable working with Robert and did not find an intimacy co-ordinator necessary.

She said: “We did not have (an intimacy co-ordinator), or maybe we did, but we didn’t really.

“I felt really safe with Rob. He’s not pervy and very in love with (his partner) Suki (Waterhouse.)

“We mostly were just talking about our kids and our relationships. So there wasn’t any weird like, ‘Does he think I like him?’ If there was a little bit of that, I’d probably have an intimacy co-ordinator.”

The film, directed by Lynne Ramsay, is released in cinemas on Friday (07.11.25.)

Based on Ariana Harwicz’s 2012 novel, it follows a woman’s mental unraveling and marital struggles after becoming a mother.

Jennifer, who won an Academy Award for Silver Linings Playbook in 2013, has become one of Hollywood’s most prominent actors.

Her career took off after her breakout performance in Winter’s Bone, directed by Debra Granik, which earned her an Oscar nomination at 20.

Jennifer, who has two sons with husband Cooke Maroney, went on to achieve global recognition for her role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games film series.

Alongside her work in blockbuster franchises, Jennifer has built a reputation for working with acclaimed filmmakers, including David O. Russell on American Hustle and Joy, and Darren Aronofsky on Mother!

Is Shah Rukh Khan The Real Villain Of Bollywood? Costars Share Their Thoughts! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 October 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Nearly three decades since its release, Shah Rukh Khan’s legendary character Raj Malhotra from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) is still setting the standard for romance through generations. The 1995 blockbuster not only established SRK as the King of Romance but also emerged as one of the most endearing films in Indian cinema history. But not everybody considers Raj to be the ideal hero — his co-stars Parmeet Sethi and Manoj Bajpayee recently provided a witty and surprising spin on the action, labeling Shah Rukh’s characters as the “villain” of their respective movies.

In an open chat with Pinkvilla, actor Parmeet Sethi, who portrayed Kuljit Singh, Simran’s (Kajol’s) fiancé in DDLJ, provided his unvarnished opinion. “In DDLJ, Kuljit didn’t do anything wrong,” he stated. “Shah Rukh’s Raj shows up and steals my bride. I didn’t go to steal anyone’s bride.” His take gives a humorously layered spin to the film, presenting Raj’s dramatic romantic move from the vantage point of a suitor to be thwarted — one in which Kuljit is merely an aggrieved man who has lost out on love.”.

Likewise, Manoj Bajpayee, who co-starred with Shah Rukh Khan in Veer Zaara (2004), expressed a similar opinion regarding his character Raza. Referring to an interview from the past, he clarified, “The proposal is already made, but my fiancée is flirting with someone else. So, Shah Rukh for me was the villain in this tale, but all the ire was for me instead.”

Bajpayee continued to discuss his method of acting, stating, “When I get a role, I think from the character’s point of view. Then I will be able to make it real. That’s how my thinking was in approaching the role. Shah Rukh, for me, was the villain.” His observation reminds us that perspective is what makes storytelling work — what readers see as romance may, from a different perspective, resemble betrayal or heartbreak.

Despite these tongue-in-cheek observations, there’s no denying the enduring magic of DDLJ. The film continues to play daily at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir theatre and remains a cultural touchstone for lovers of Hindi cinema. Shah Rukh Khan’s Raj and Kajol’s Simran still embody the fantasy of love that defies all odds.

Although Parmeet Sethi and Manoj Bajpayee’s witty remarks provide a fresh perspective on SRK’s greatest romantic roles, fans remain fond of him as the eternally romantic hero who redefined what it takes to win hearts — even at the cost of breaking a few in the bargain.

Shannen Doherty’s Charmed exit slammed by co-stars

by jummy84 September 22, 2025

by Feeds-Bang |

22 September 2025

Shannen Doherty’s former Charmed co-stars have branded the late star’s final episode “the worst” of the show.

Shannen Doherty was let go from Charmed after three seasons

The actress – who died of cancer in July 2024 – directed the season three finale, All Hell Breaks Loose, which ended with her character Prue and sister Piper (Holly Marie Combs) left for dead while sibling Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) was trapped in the underworld, but she was then dropped from the show before the fourth season.

And Holly and Brian Krause recently blasted the “sick and twisted” way their late friend was ditched from Charmed.

Speaking on The House of Halliwell, their Charmed rewatch podcast, Holly grew emotional as she said: “There was just so many different ways it could have been handled.

And the fact of the matter is it was handled so s*******. It was such massive insult to injury to let her direct it and go out on this high note. Like, it’s just so sick and twisted.”

Holly noted they wouldn’t be “naming names” over Shannen’s exit because people are afraid to talk about it, but claimed no one was aware their friend’s job was at risk at the time but her former co-star received a call during the show’s hiatus to break the news.

Brian added: “Nobody wants to speak their truth because they feel like they’ll be hated by the fandom, by the thing, by their former workers.”

He also noted Charmed before and after Shannen’s departure felt like two different shows, while Holly rated All Hell Breaks Loose a zero because of the surrounding circumstances.

She said: “I think it’s the worst episode ever.”

Holly previously claimed Shannen was left go from the witchcraft series as show bosses feared Alyssa would sue for a “hostile workplace environment” if she was not forced out.

Speaking on Shannen’s Let’s Be Clear podcast, she said: “Jonathan [Levin, producer] said, ‘We didn’t mean to – but we’ve been backed into this corner – we’re basically in this position where it’s one or the other,’” Combs recalled.

“‘We were told (by Alyssa) it’s her or (Shannen) and Alyssa has threatened to sue us for a hostile workplace environment.’”

Former Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen later claimed that Holly’s claims were correct as she insisted that at that point in her illness, she wanted to make sure the “truth” about things was out there and understood.

She said: “Holly and I, we were not mean on the podcast – my podcast, Let’s Be Clear.

“In fact, we went in and we edited out anything that we felt would cause more drama.

“We simply told the truth because the truth actually does matter. But we wanted to try to save you, the fans, from heartbreak as much as humanly possible.

““At this point in my life with my health diagnosis – I’m sorry if I start crying – with fighting horrific disease every day of my life, it is also incredibly important to me that the truth actually be told as opposed to the narrative that others put out there for me.

“We told it together, we told our truths and we are standing by our truths.”

Nina Dobrev Talks Fight for Equal Pay to Vampire Diaries Male Co-Stars

by jummy84 September 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Despite being the only actor playing multiple characters during the early seasons of The Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobrev has revealed that she was paid less than her fellow male co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley.

The actress opened up about the behind-the-scenes equal pay battle in Entertainment Weekly editor Samantha Highfill’s new book, I Was Feeling Epic: An Oral History of The Vampire Diaries. Dobrev not only played Elena Gilbert in the hit CW series, but also her character’s evil doppelgänger, Katherine Pierce, starting in the season one finale.

“Candice [King], Kat [Graham], and I were the three lowest-paid series regulars in the first two seasons,” Dobrev said. “It was a bit of a tricky situation because my contract only said to play Elena, but I was playing multiple characters, which doubled my workload. I had to be on set for double the amount of time, I had to memorize double the amount of lines.”

In the book, Highfill wrote that actors are typically able to start negotiating their contracts in season three, which means Dobrev was making less than Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) and Wesley (Stefan Salvatore) for the first few seasons.

“I wanted to play Katherine, but I wanted to be compensated fairly for that, and I wanted to be an equal to the boys,” Dobrev added. The actress eventually got more money, Highfill wrote, but she never received equal pay to her male co-leads.

She recalled being told that “out of principle” the studio “wouldn’t bump me up to being equal to the boys, and so that was probably the most hurtful because it felt like I was really working hard and we shot eighteen-hour days sometimes, and nights, and I was putting my absolute heart and soul, blood, sweat, and tears into it.”

“I remember feeling like the studio didn’t appreciate what I was bringing to the show, and it felt like they were saying that all the hard work I was putting into it didn’t matter to them and that I wasn’t an equal to my male counterparts, and so that was upsetting to me,” Dobrev continued.

Vampire Diaries co-creator Julie Plec also shared in the book that things “got really heated” with the studio when they told the show’s writers they couldn’t use Katherine anymore because it meant the studio would have to pay Dobrev more each time.

However, Plec said that “was not something that I felt was right or fair,” leading them to “beg the network to let us even write story for Katherine.”

Plec said that the writers were eventually allowed to write for Katherine but recalled, “I literally think we had to say, ‘We’ll kill Katherine,’ in order to get permission to use her.”

“Over time, between Nina being generous and gracious and the tension simmering down a little bit, we were granted a certain number of episodes,” the co-creator said. “[But] I literally think we had to say, ‘We’ll kill Katherine,’ in order to get permission to use her.”

Dobrev exited the show after season six, when her character Elena was put under a sleeping spell by villain Kai Parker (Chris Wood), which linked Elena’s life to that of her best friend Bonnie Bennett. But since Elena wasn’t killed off, this left the door open for her to return (which she did in the series finale, titled “I Was Feeling Epic.”)

However, her return for the eighth and final season sparked another battle over pay, as revealed in Highfill’s book. Plec and co-creator Kevin Williamson said they initially intended to have Dobrev return for the entire final season.

“I really wanted Elena and Stefan to end up together,” Williamson admitted, “that would’ve been my preference, but we didn’t have Elena to bring that relationship back around. You couldn’t bring them back together in one episode.”

But Dobrev stood her ground and was only going to return if she was paid the same as Wesley and Somerhalder, who had gotten multiple raises since her departure from the series.

“I was always open to coming back for the finale, and storyline-wise it made sense. I felt like it was important and it needed to happen for the show, it needed to happen for the fans,” the actress explained. “It was just really important to me that at the end of the show, as a woman, I wanted to make sure that I was compensated and that I was an equal to my male counterparts on the show, and so it came down to that.”

Dobrev shared that the studio’s offer for her to return for the show’s finale “was five times less” than what she made when she left at the end of season six.

“That’s the only reason why at one point I almost didn’t come back,” she added. “I needed to be paid parity to the boys. I had to put my foot down and say if it didn’t happen I wouldn’t be able to come back,” she said. “And it wasn’t about the money — I didn’t give a shit about the money at all — it was the principle.”

Plec defended Dobrev, saying in the book, “She should’ve been making what those boys made all along, and nobody should’ve blinked at that request, but at the time it was very shocking. To her credit, she advocated for herself and she stuck to her guns.”

When Dobrev declined the studio’s less-than-equal offer, she said that’s when Plec stepped in and “put her foot down and spoke to everyone.” Though the studio eventually only agreed to pay for one episode at the actress’s requested rate.

“The reason we couldn’t have her for more than the one episode is because they just wouldn’t pay,” the co-creator shared. “It took a lot of work before they finally relented, but it came back that it was one episode only that they’d say yes for.”

Dobrev added, “For the fans I felt horrible and I wanted the story to be told in the best way possible, and it was heartbreaking that the artistry had to suffer because elf this, that we didn’t get to maybe have the few episodes at the end of the show that Julie wanted. … I’m very happy that we were able to make it work and that I came back, because I wanted to be part of the goodbye.”

I Was Feeling Epic: An Oral History of The Vampire Diaries is now available for purchase.

Darasing Khurana Wishes Former Co-Stars Harnaaz Sandhu, Simrat Kaur For Baaghi 4, The Bengal Files Box Office Clash

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Darasing Khurana, actor and Commonwealth Global Youth Ambassador, recently shared a heartfelt moment of nostalgia as two of his former co-stars, Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu and Simratt Kaur, prepare for the release of their new films — both hitting theatres on the same day.

Darasing Khurana Praises Former Co-stars Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, Simratt Kaur

The trio first came together in 2022 with the Punjabi action-comedy Bai Ji Kuttange, directed by Smeep Kang. The film marked a milestone for all three: it was Khurana’s acting debut after winning the title of Mr. India International, while Harnaaz Sandhu made her first on-screen appearance before going on to win the coveted Miss Universe 2021 crown. Simratt Kaur, already making a name for herself in the South Indian film industry, rounded out the ensemble cast alongside veterans Dev Kharoud, Upasana Singh, and Gurpreet Ghuggi.

Since then, their careers have taken different directions. Harnaaz is now debuting in the high-octane Bollywood film Bhaaghi-4, starring alongside Tiger Shroff and Sonam Bajwa. Simrat, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of The Bengal Files, a film that has been generating considerable anticipation, directed by Vivek Agnihotri.

Khurana took to Instagram to express his pride in seeing both women flourish, noting the unique coincidence of their films releasing on the same day. “It’s a moment of happiness and nostalgia,” he shared. “Having worked with both Harnaaz and Simrat early in their journeys, it’s incredible to now see them shine so brightly. I wish them both nothing but success and happiness as they take on this exciting new chapter, and may their hard work continue to inspire many.”

While Harnaaz and Simratt continue to captivate audiences on screen, Khurana himself has expanded his horizons beyond cinema. As the Commonwealth Global Youth Ambassador, he now works on international policymaking and advocacy, representing youth voices across nations.

Ayo Edebiri addresses ongoing work of Me Too and Black Lives Matter movements after being excluded from question about them in favour of ‘After The Hunt’ co-stars

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Ayo Edebiri has addressed the ongoing work of the Me Too and Black Lives Matter movements after being pointedly excluded from a question in favour of her white co-stars.

While in Venice on a press tour for the upcoming Luca Guadagnino film After The Hunt, which is pegged as a post #MeToo psychological thriller, Andrew Garfield, Julia Roberts and Edebiri were asked what was “lost during the politically correct era”.

The reporter also asked what we have to expect in Hollywood, now that “the Me Too movement and Black Lives Matter are done”.

Roberts then asked them to repeat the question, seemingly inviting the reporter to address all the actors, saying, “With your sunglasses on, I can’t tell which of us you’re talking to.” However, they clarified that the question was only for Garfield and Roberts.

Edebiri looked around the room, stunned after being excluded from the question, saying: “Yeah, I know that that’s not for me, and I don’t know if it’s purposeful if it’s not me, but I just am curious.”

Ayo Edebiri eloquently talks about the political state of the hashtag “Me Too” & the Black Lives Matter movement after being deliberately excluded from the question by an interviewer for their ‘After the Hunt’ press tour.

pic.twitter.com/KyoLoLU1lP

— Pop Crave (@PopCrave) September 7, 2025

“I don’t think it’s done,” she continued, to agreement from Roberts. “I don’t think it’s done at all. I think maybe hashtags might not be used as much, but I do think that there’s work being done by activists, by people, every day, that’s beautiful, important work that’s not finished, that’s really, really, really active – for a reason, because this world is really charged.

“And that work isn’t finished at all.”

She said while mainstream coverage of Me Too and Black Lives Matter might not dominate headlines as much as it did at the peak of the respective movements, it didn’t mean that the work was done.

Garfield agreed, and concurred that “the movements are still absolutely alive”, but “maybe not as witnessed or kind of magnified as much in this present moment”.

Fans on social media were shocked she’d been excluded from the question, given not only was she the only Black woman in the room, but her first major acting role had a direct connection to the aftereffects of the BLM movement.

In 2020, Edebiri took over voicing the character Missy in Big Mouth, having been originally voiced by Jenny Slate, a white Jewish actress, who later apologised for playing Missy, a biracial teenager with a white mother and a Black father.

Edebiri spoke to Entertainment Weekly at the time about Slate’s decision, and how broader culture was shifting in order to make space for marginalised actors. “I’ve thinking about a lot about how so much has changed, like even in my lifetime,” The Bear star said.

“Sometimes I’ll watch older movies, and often not even that old, and they’re using slurs that are unbelievable and people are pretending to be people with disabilities and winning Oscars, and you’re like, ‘Huh?’ We discovered that this was wrong and we’ve corrected it.

“I think, to me, this is a faster version of that in a way. It’s like, okay, we realised it, and we’re seeing it happen in real time that what we thought was acceptable maybe isn’t, and we’re learning why and learning to have conversations about it in real time, too.

She later spoke to The New York Times about how the role made her a target of racism online, which she has continued to be as recently as of last year, when Edebiri received “insane death threats and racial slurs” after Elon Musk spread misinformation about her being cast in a “fake reboot” of Pirates of the Caribbean.
