Miami Heat’s Terry Rozier & Portland Trail Blazers Head Coach Chauncey Billups Among Those Arrested In Connection w/ Federal Gambling Probe

The #NBA isn’t playing around this morning (Oct. 23).

Portland Trail Blazers head coach #ChaunceyBillups and Miami Heat guard #TerryRozier were arrested in connection with a federal investigation into illegal gambling. Rozier was taken into custody at an Orlando hotel after Miami’s game against the Magic; he didn’t play in the matchup due to a coach’s decision.

Billups, now in his fifth season leading Portland, was arrested in Oregon in what ABC News described as a “separate but related” illegal betting operation. Former NBA player #DamonJones was also taken into custody. It’s reported that more than 30 people were arrested as part of a yearslong investigation covering 11 states. The Eastern District of New York and FBI Director Kash Patel will hold a news conference later today to outline the allegations. The story is developing.

Joe Absolom reveals Emmerdale villain Ray's truth behind Laurel connection amid "subservient" dynamic with mum Celia

Joe Absolom reveals Emmerdale villain Ray’s truth behind Laurel connection amid “subservient” dynamic with mum Celia

by jummy84 October 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Joe Absolom has revealed the truth behind Emmerdale villain Ray Walters’s romantic attachment to Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), and shared some insight into his relationship with adoptive mum Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths).

Ray has been manipulating April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and her boyfriend Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) into delivering and selling drugs for him.

Things took an even darker turn when Ray led April into sexual slavery.

But when we learned that Celia has been pulling the strings all along, it became clear that Ray, while ruthless, isn’t half as dangerous as her!

Chatting to RadioTimes.com and other media, Absolom explained: “To April and Dylan, he’s at the top. But to actually most people watching him, people realize he’s one of the many, one of the cogs.

“And you see above him is [Celia], who he’s terrified of and attached to in a sort of maternal sense. He’s very much the child and the subservient one,” he added.

“Whereas with Dylan and April, he’s kind of the dominator, if you like, or the driving force of most of those things. Most of my scenes are different with those two guys to what you see with [Celia], who’s this very formidable, strident character.”

Celia (Jaye Griffiths) with an unsuspecting Moira (Natalie J Robb) ITV

Describing a moment on set where a co-star had yet to find out the nature of Ray and Celia’s relationship, the actor revealed: “We did a scene the other day and Jaye touched my cheek, and one of the other actors went, ‘wait, are you two dating?'”

While Celia’s more tactile moments seem to be used to keep Ray in line, there’s another, warmer opportunity to see Ray’s softer side when he takes a genuine shine to Laurel!

“I think when he meets Laurel, there’s something that brings a side out to him that he didn’t know he was going to have, but the writers did. I like it because it has a different side of it. It’s more human.

“I think he sees a family,” Absolom added. “Sees her with her kids and sees a family life that he never had because he was adopted very early on by Celia when he was eight.

“So we see in episodes later, not flashbacks, but little hints of what his life has been like. So I think to me, Laurel is this kind of woman who has a business and a family and children are kind of, you know, interesting. She lives in a nice house.

“Yeah, I think it’s attractive to Ray in lots of different ways.”

But despite the possibility of love on the horizon, Ray will turn his attention back to crime, discovering that Dylan has gone behind his back and stolen some money after a job.

“He’s got the backpack and he’s been double crossed, I guess,” muses the star.

“So it’s a real moment where he realises he may be losing a grip on these two people and that he has to now take it to a different level and try and get them back and get the money back and get them back onside. So it’s a risk of losing everything, really.”

As Dylan and April make a desperate bid to escape, we’ll have to wait and see if Ray will catch up with them.

But Absolom is enjoying his time on Emmerdale, summing up what he’s been up to since stepping into the role of Ray.

“Since I’ve arrived, I’ve been paying kids to deliver drugs, I’ve been delivering drugs myself, I’ve been pimping out other characters. And I’ve taught Dylan how to drive. There’s a real gamut of opportunity for the Dales!”

Did You Know, Shah Rukh Khan’s Debut Show Fauji Has a Connection With Chunky Panday?

by jummy84 October 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Chunky Panday and Govinda are all set to appear in the next episode of Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle. And with these 90s icons on the show, the audience can only expect nostalgic stories, fun moments and crazy revelations. The promos of the episode give a glimpse of the topics they have touched upon. Out of many things the duo spoke about, one was Chunky recalling his age-old association and friendship with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Turns out, SRK’s debut show Fauji has a connection with Chunky.

He said, “Humare poore parivar mei koi actor bana nahi kabhi. (No one in our entire family ever became an actor) Haan mere uncle, mere mamaji jo they, he used to do character roles. (Yes, my uncle, my maternal uncle, used to do character roles) Unka naam tha, Col. Raj Kapoor. (His name was Col. Raj Kapoor) Unhone Fauji serial banayi Shah Rukh ke saath. (He made the Fauji serial with Shah Rukh)”

SRK began his acting career with the Doordarshan series Fauji, and this role helped him get noticed. And the rest is history. Shah Rukh and Chunky’s bond began when SRK moved to Mumbai to pursue acting. At that time, Chunky’s younger brother, Chikki Panday, became one of Shah Rukh’s first friends in the city. Chunky earlier spoke about how Shah Rukh and his wife, Gauri, would often visit their home, spending time watching video cassettes together.

Meanwhile, Chunky also spoke about how visiting Twinkle Khanna’s father, Rajesh Khanna’s, house is one of his fondest childhood memories. And Twinkle, too, recalled her long-standing connection with the actor. Govinda also spoke about his admiration for Rajesh Khanna and revealed how he got his iconic dance style.

The new episode of Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle will drop this Thursday, exclusively on Prime Video.

Manchester City shocked supporters and movie fans in equal measure with a stunning new revelation: “A legend, still being written.” These emotive words paralleled a dramatic image of football icon Erling Haaland against the otherworldly background of Kantara: Chapter 1, fusing the sport and cinema universes in a surprising but exhilarating cross-over.

The photo, posted on Instagram, is of Haaland standing in the misty forests and tribal patterns of Kantara’s mythical realm. The haunting poster soon went viral, reflecting how the movie has transformed from a local hit to a worldwide cultural phenomenon.

Kantara: Chapter 1, the prequel to the blockbuster hit in 2022, was released worldwide on October 2, 2025, in 30+ countries and several languages. Its U.K. premiere was greeted with a standing ovation, with reviewers hailing its deeply ingrained folklore and global appeal. The 4th-century AD-set film delves into the sacred history of the land of Kantara, searching out myths, ancient wars, and intervention by the gods. It’s a story of fire, faith, and destiny—one that now appears to resonate far beyond Indian films.

Directed, written, and starring Rishab Shetty, the film also features Sapthami Gowda, Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, PD Satish Chandra, and Prakash Thuminad. Arvind S. Kashyap’s cinematography and B. Ajaneesh Loknath’s music bring the world of Kantara alive again.

The Surprising Connection Between ‘Leave It to Beaver’ and ‘The Fugitive’

by jummy84 October 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Leave it to Beaver fans got to know Beaver’s very first teacher, Miss Canfield, in the show’s very first episode, which debuted Oct. 4, 1957. Played by popular character actress Diane Brewster, Ms. Canfield appeared in only a handful of episodes throughout the show’s first season (including the show’s ill-fated pilot), but she earned spot in Leave it to Beaver fans’ hearts — so much so that Brewster would return in the role in the 1983 TV movie Still the Beaver and the sequel series The New Leave it to Beaver, which ran from 1983-1988. But while plenty of the actress’s fans may remember as Beaver’s beloved teacher,  they might not know the surprising connection she had to TV’s The Fugitive  — she played Helen Kimble, the woman murdered by the infamous One-Armed Man.

Singer D4vd, 20, Reportedly Lived In House Searched By LAPD In Connection To Deceased Minor Found In His Tesla

The investigation of the de@th of 15-year-old Celeste continues.

On Wednesday (Sept. 17), Los Angeles police searched a home in the affluent neighborhood where D4vd’s #Tesla was first abandoned. As reported, the vehicle was impounded two weeks ago and taken to a Hollywood tow yard. A strong odor ultimately prompted the discovery of a body in the frunk (front trunk), which was later identified as missing #CelesteRivas.

Reportedly, multiple officers spent hours at a Hollywood Hills home, seizing a computer and other items from the residence. TMZ reports that the searched home is where D4vd, David Burke, seemed to be living. Per the outlet, “the house is being rented by Josh Marshall, D4vd’s manager at Interscope.”

Although authorities have yet to confirm D4vd’s connection to Celeste, online speculation is spreading. Footage of him allegedly with the teen, reports of a matching tattoo, and a song he appears to have written about her have all emerged amid the growing allegations.

D4vd recently canceled a performance in #Seattle and is said to be cooperating wth police.

Nouvelle Vague Star Zoey Deutch: Godard/Linklater Connection Is Clear

Nouvelle Vague Star Zoey Deutch: Godard/Linklater Connection Is Clear

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Zoey Deutch was 19 when Richard Linklater, idly sketching ideas on a lunch container, told her she would be Jean Seberg.

It was a moment between shots on Linklater’s 2016 “Everybody Wants Some!!,” when Deutch first caught Hollywood’s attention as part of the film‘s stacked ensemble cast. “And in passing, casually, [he said], ‘I have a movie about ‘Breathless,’ I think I want you to play Jean,’” she told IndieWire at the Telluride Film Festival.

It was nearly a decade before Deutch would adopt Seberg’s game pixie cut to star in “Nouvelle Vague,” Linklater’s black-and-white homage to the French New Wave that recreates the 1959 filming of “Breathless” on the streets of Paris. The film, which premiered at Cannes and is now heading out on a busy fall festival tour, was written by Holly Gent and Vince Palmo, Jr. (“Me and Orson Welles”) with French screenwriter Laetitia Masson.

'Dead Man's Wire'

It’s a light and tasty soufflé that chronicles Godard’s groundbreaking debut which he shot at top speed MOS (without sound) in mainly single takes, barking dialogue from his notebook to the actors, who had no script. Working on a Linklater movie, however, requires discipline.

“Rick is focused, but it’s fun,” said Deutch. “And he has cultivated these systems that are in place for it to be as calm an experience as possible. He requires rehearsal time, usually about the same amount of rehearsal as shooting days, which is rare.”

For “Nouvelle Vague,” Linklater gave the actors a rehearsal manifesto. “He typed up three different sections of what he wanted all of the actors to understand going into this movie,” said Deutch. “One of them was to be clear that we are making a movie, a love letter to cinema about Godard, but we are making it in the opposite style of how he made it. We are not hoping to just spontaneously get lucky. We are going to be precise and thoughtful and do all the research and create magic a different way.”

Would Godard approve? Impossible to know, but Deutch believes that Linklater is the only person who might get the master’s nod.

'Breathless'

“They are two artists that have maintained their artistic integrity as filmmakers that do what they want to do and make movies that they want to make, not what other people want to see,” she said. “That is a rare quality. Even the greatest filmmakers of all time, most of them, waver at one point or another, and that’s OK. It is astonishing that [Rick] has never wavered from doing things that he wants to do for himself — not selfishly, but because that’s what you do. You make things that live inside of you that you have to get out and then it relates to other people. He and Godard share that quality.”

Three years ago, Linklater finally mentioned “Breathless” to Deutch again. “He kept saying, ‘Do not cut your hair quite yet,” she said. “‘What does that mean? You’re going to recast me?’ I didn’t know how real it was at all until I actually cut my hair.”

Two years prior to filming, Deutch began learning French. “It was a great gift that [Seberg] had a particular accent with her French-speaking,” she said. “When she was making ‘Breathless,’ she had just started learning French, so I didn’t have the daunting task of of trying to reshape my mouth to sound French. But that element of the process was the most helpful in creating an understanding of what was going through her head while she was filming.”

When Deutch watched “Breathless,” she found Seberg mysterious. Once she began production, that perception flipped on its head.

“It’s an odd movie,” she said, “I had a lot of questions, quite a few things that don’t make sense. Once I started acting in a language that I was just learning, I understood where that mysteriousness was coming from. It’s fear and it’s a defense mechanism you put on: ‘Instead of looking scared, let’s try mysterious. Let’s try looking like I’m not going to let you know what’s going on here.’ She’s improvising a movie in a language that she’s just learning with a director that’s giving her zero guidance. It’s an avant-garde style of filmmaking. She’d only made two movies before. Otto Preminger was the most rigid stylistically. It was the polar opposite.”

Preminger was notoriously cruel to Seberg. “She had already been traumatized by Hollywood in a major, major way, destroyed by the critics, destroyed by him,” said Deutch. “She comes to do this, and it’s scary. So the language barrier was a great window into what I would imagine she was going through.”

'Nouvelle Vague'
‘Nouvelle Vague’Jean-Louis Fernandez

Linklater and Deutch agreed to not foreshadow Seberg’s later darkness. “We honor a specific moment in time of this beautiful, brave, gifted woman’s life that is oftentimes just thought of as tragic,” she said. “It was important to not read the last page. I would visit her grave in Montparnasse. We were shooting the last scene on the same street, and it was raining and I said, ‘Why don’t we go talk to Jean?’ So Rick and I walk over to Jean’s grave. We look up and the sun came out. The weather forecast said it was going to rain all day long. We were able to shoot that scene, and we felt like it was a little bit of her blessing.”

Deutch’s preparations also included visiting Chanel to be fitted for haute couture. “It was a little-girl fantasy dream come true to go to Coco Chanel’s apartment to get a custom dress made,” she said. “It felt like I was going back in time and and channeling her.”

Trained as a dancer and raised by industry parents (actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch), Deutch has done it all: romantic comedies (“Set It Up”), thrillers (“Juror No. 2”), biopics (“Rebel in the Rye”), series (“The Politician”), and theater (“Our Town”).

Eastwood cast her in “Juror No. 2” after an audition eight years before. “I never heard anything back, and he remembered it,” she said. “So often we feel that these auditions go into the abyss and it can be painful. This is the universe reminding me: ‘If you stay the course, keep working and trying, you keep going.’”

'Nouvelle Vague,' Zoey Deutch
‘Nouvelle Vague,’ Zoey DeutchARP Sélection

“Our Town” was an “awesome and healing” experience, she said. “Making films is my life. It’s my favorite thing in the world. But I can get into the trap of being so hard on myself once the day is done. In theater when you go home at night and you go, ‘I didn’t quite nail that,’ you don’t need to torture yourself. You go, ‘Tomorrow is a new day, and I’m going to try that tomorrow night.’ It’s a metaphor for life. You have another shot. You don’t have to be like, ‘Oh, that happened, and it was horrible.’”

Now 30, Deutch is taking her career reins by moving into producing films like “Buffaloed.” “I wanted to generate things instead of waiting around for them to happen,” she said. “I started in comedy. I was highly sought out for the one-dimensional female character in the male-driven comedy. Then I overcorrected a little, and I decided to only play scammers and unlikable female characters. I’m now in this new phase where I’m coming into myself as a woman more. I want to make beautiful things like ‘Hamnet.’ ‘Nouvelle Vague’ is a beautiful movie about art and and staying true to yourself, and it’s joyful, and it’s fun, and it’s a celebration of cinema.”

Next up: She also produced “The Threesome” (Vertical, September 5) directed by Chad Hartigan, a smart take on how a ménage à trois really impacts its players. She shot the relationship drama in Little Rock, Arkansas right before “Nouvelle Vague.” She reached out to the director years ago, wanting to be in his orbit. When she heard another actress fell out of “The Threesome,” she messaged him on Instagram: “Can you meet me for coffee? I want to make this movie with you.” “I fought a little for that one,” she said.

She also stars in the upcoming Lionsgate thriller “The Anniversary” (October 29) and just finished a “wild” and untitled David Wain comedy (“Celebrity Pass Movie”) as well as a love story for Netflix, “Voicemails for Isabelle.” “It’s a story about grief and sisterhood and falling in love,” she said.

Netflix will release “Nouvelle Vague” in select theaters on Friday, October 31, and stream on Netflix starting on Friday, November 14.
