The blockbuster success of 2018 film Rangasthalam left fans and audiences wanting more from Ram Charan and director Sukumar’s collaboration. Mythri Movie Makers, the production house that brought both the actor and director together for the first time is also eagerly looking to bankroll their second union. Although the announcement regarding Ram Charan and Sukumar’s second project was announced last year, the exact time isn’t still unknown. While the buzz surrounding the film is getting bigger with time, here’s some clarity on when the film will go on floors.

Film to go on floors in summer 2026

Fans have been constantly pestering the producers regarding when Ram Charan and Sukumar film may commence shooting. All this while, the makers haven’t properly addressed the part, but it looks like fans of the actor are in for some good news. According to the producers, the yet-to-be-titled film is scheduled to go on floors in summer 2026. Sharing an update on the shooting timeline for the first time, producer Naveen Yerneni confirmed, “Ram Charan garu is currently working on Peddi. After he wraps up, the film with Sukumar garu will begin shooting around April or May 2026,” said the producer. He also clarified that Ram Charan may not take up any other project until he wraps up the film with Sukumar.

Ram Charan-Sukumar’s film, most anticipated

After the blockbuster success of Pushpa series, director Sukumar has become one of the top directors in the country. Although the filmmaker received several offers in Hindi, he chose to reunite with Ram Charan for a Pan India film. According to sources, the film will be high on action and will be one of the most anticipated projects. “Sukumar and his team of writers are presently working on the script. By March, the entire pre-production will be done and the makers can roll the film from May,” informs a source.

This Is When Ram Charan Would Commence Director Sukumar’s Film

The shooting of Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi is progressing briskly. While the unit commenced a new schedule in Pune, filming scenes on Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, we have got an interesting scoop. Apparently, the RRR star is likely to commence shooting for his next film, under director Sukumar, from February. With Peddi, scheduled to release on March 27, 2026, Charan is likely to commence shooting for the Sukumar directorial just before a month.

When the film (Peddi) was launched in March last year, the idea was to wrap up by mid-2025 so that it gives enough time for Ram Charan to take a breather and prepare for Sukumar’s film. But Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, has been delayed due to production snags and logistic issues. This in turn further delayed Sukumar’s film. Charan spent more than three years on Game Changer (2025) and the result too was poor. On the other hand, Charan’s fans too wanted to see their favourite star in action on screen at least once every year. It was then the actor took a decision not to spend too much time on one film.

A source in the know informs, “Peddi shooting will be wrapped up by the year-end or January. Ram Charan wants to give enough time for post-production works and movie promotions. Soon, he will turn his focus to Sukumar’s film which is likely to go on floors in February.” Ram Charan and Sukumar earlier collaborated for Rangasthalam (2018). The rustic thriller went on to become the biggest blockbuster in the actor’s career. The actor-director wanted to recreate the magic in their second collaboration. Buzz is that Mythri Movies that earlier bankrolled films like Pushpa series and Rangasthalam are likely to produce the new film. Meanwhile, Sukumar is working on the script and will keep it ready by the time the film goes on floors.

This weekend, the NME Godlike Genius recipient played the final show of her summer European tour at the Netherlands’ Lowlands Festival.

During her set, she teased an upcoming new album, saying: “New music – I am full and abundant and ready to give birth. Her name is ‘Afterglow’. And my labour shall commence next month.”

According to a report from Stereogum, the album is actually called ‘EUSEXUA Afterglow’, and is reportedly an entirely new album, rather than a deluxe edition, which has previously been speculated.

Last month, Twigs shared the uptempo dance-pop track ‘Perfectly’, which is thought to also be from the new album.

In a five-star review of ‘Eusexua’, NME wrote: “Twigs has successfully shown that the connection of music, movement, mind, soul and body can be converted into sound, weaving these elements into a cohesive and transcendent artistic experience. She brings her own assured sense of creativity and spirituality and combines it with her ability to materialise the intangible. As the album’s closing track says, “You’ve one life to live, do it freely”. What better note to leave it on?”

 

Her recent European shows followed Twigs dropping out of Coachella last minute, along with other US tour dates, with her explaining: “I was informed that production did not fill out the correct paperwork in a timely manner for us to have our visas to come to the USA and perform.”

She has since told fans that one day she would explain “all the tea that’s led to this craziness.”

The singer brought ‘Eusexua’ to London back in March, where NME scored the show a four-star review: “Dancers hang chains connected to her dress to all four corners of the box and every spotlight is rigged onto her; Twigs has no choice but to bare her soul to the crowd.

“To end the set with a song that expresses such spiritual suffering with some of the most magnificent vocals is truly brave; every tremble and crack in her voice is deeply felt, and it’s the most connected we feel to her all night. Now that’s ‘Eusexua’.”

In other news, she’s reportedly in negotiations to portray groundbreaking singer and actress Josephine Baker in a new biopic, and recently made a surprise appearance with Rosé at BLACKPINK‘s first show at Wembley Stadium.
