Heels With Socks: The Controversial Combo Becoming Winter’s Most Comfortable Trend

Major fashion houses—including Miu Miu, Prada, Brunello Cucinelli, Ganni, and Proenza Schouler—have all shown heels with socks in their collections this past year. Some chose to match practical gray stockings with sensible heels for a kind of avant-garde granny effect. Louis Vuitton went with socks in ribbed fabric that hit mid-thigh and lengthened the leg, while Rabanne, Marni, and Moschino went for a romantic take with socks in shiny fabrics. Chanel even snuck into the trend with a shoe that’s a hybrid between a sock and heel.

In short, the combination of high heels with socks embodies what fashion is truly all about: expressing yourself, having fun, and standing out by showing off. The best part about this trend is that you can adapt it to your own personal style—any pairing of socks with heels will do.

Switch to low heels: The chic, comfortable fashion trend your feet will thank you for

There was a time when beauty meant pain and pain had a pointed toe and a five-inch stiletto. But thankfully, the era of limping stylishly through weddings and office parties is finally over. Fashion has officially fallen in love with comfort, and the comeback queen of the season? Low heels.

low heels trend(Pinterest)

Yes, you read that right! Low heels are having a major moment, and this time, it’s not your grandmother’s orthopedic pair. We’re talking kitten mules, block heels, flared sandals, and slingbacks that marry comfort with couture.

The fall of the Stiletto Heel

Stilettos had their reign. They strutted down red carpets, conquered boardrooms, and became a symbol of “power dressing”. But somewhere between post-pandemic practicality and the rise of all-day dressing, our feet collectively decided: enough is enough.

Low heels, once seen as “too sensible”, are now the smart girl’s answer to effortless glam. They bring the height without the hurt, the polish without the pinch, and they go from desk to dance floor without requiring a backup pair of flats in your tote bag.

The rise of the Kitten Heel:

The kitten heel has had one of the most stylish comebacks of the decade. Once reserved for Audrey Hepburn-esque elegance, it’s now the go-to for everyone who wants understated chic.

You’ll spot them in sleek slingbacks, metallic mules, and square-toe sandals, all of which pair beautifully with everything from tailored trousers to lehengas. The key is in the proportion: just enough lift to elongate your legs, but still stable enough to actually walk in.

Style tip: Pair pointed-toe kitten heels with straight-cut jeans or midi skirts. It adds a polished finish without screaming “formal.”

Block Heels: The new power pick:

Block Heels: The new power pick:(Pinterest)

For anyone who’s ever regretted wearing pencil-thin heels to a wedding, block heels are your redemption arc. They’re comfortable, balanced, and endlessly versatile. Be it a textured leather pair for work or a sequinned block sandal for a sangeet night, these are the shoes that go the distance.

Block heels also play well with Indian wear, they give you height without sinking into the ground during outdoor functions.

Style tip: Try a nude or metallic block heel with a saree or sharara for understated glam that won’t kill your feet halfway through the night.

The return of the Slingback:

The return of the Slingback:(Pinterest)
The return of the Slingback:(Pinterest)

The slingback heel is proof that minimalism never really goes out of style. Chic, refined, and a little retro, it’s the perfect blend of sophistication and ease.

For wedding guests, they’re the perfect pairing with cocktail sarees or pre-draped ensembles. For everyday wear, they add just the right amount of elegance to a blazer-and-denim combo.

Style tip: Look for slingbacks with a slightly flared heel or embellished buckle — small details that make them feel modern and festive.

Why fashion loves comfort now

After years of restrictive dressing and towering footwear, we’re collectively choosing ease over ego. Designers have responded, too with collections that prove comfort can still be couture. From Dior’s low-heeled J’Adior pumps to Amina Muaddi’s signature flared heels, the industry’s most stylish names are all leaning (comfortably) into this change.

It’s empowerment that doesn’t require a limp the next morning.

How to style low heels for every occasion:

Low heels may be practical, but they’re far from plain. Here’s how to wear them like a trend insider:

For weddings: Swap stilettos for low block heels with shimmer detailing. They pair beautifully with lehengas and sarees while keeping you dance-ready.

For work: Opt for closed-toe kitten heels or classic slingbacks. Pair them with wide-leg trousers or midi dresses for an instant polish.

For brunch: Strappy low-heeled sandals in pastel shades; they add height, comfort, and that easy-breezy vibe.

For parties: Metallic mules with sculpted heels; festive, photogenic, and surprisingly foot-friendly.

Pro tip: If you’re unsure about heel height, 1.5 to 2 inches is the sweet spot, it gives lift without compromising comfort.

What’s refreshing about the low heel trend is that it doesn’t apologise for being practical. It redefines what feminine power dressing looks like in 2025 confident, grounded, and graceful.

Gone are the days when “sensible shoes” meant boring. Today’s low heels come with square toes, jewel embellishments, sculptural shapes, and luxurious materials, proof that comfort and style can happily co-exist.

Wedge Boots Are the Most Comfortable Shoe for Everyday Wear (Without Giving Up Heels)

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Wedge boots are that rare perfect compromise between elegant and everyday comfort. We often resort to high heels when we want to make an outfit look dressy and special, but then they end up destroying our feet as the hours go by. There’s no doubt that a great heel or platform can do a lot for a look, especially for those of us on the shorter side, but I don’t think anyone truly believes they’re ever as comfortable as a pair of sneakers.

However, there is a solution for a shoe that is both elevated and easy to walk in. They’re an old acquaintance, too: wedge boots. Yes, the shoes you probably loved in the 2010s are back on trend. Get them in black, brown, or white so they go with everything—you’ll get a great cost per wear, because these are the kind of shoes that can last from 9 to 9 (and beyond). They offer an elegant silhouette and stylish accent to any outfit, but they’re decidedly more practical for walking than any heel in your closet.

What made the wedge boot such a must-have back then remains it’s biggest selling point now: Unlike a thin heel, which concentrates all the pressure on the front of the foot, a wedge distributes the weight evenly and allows each step to feel more stable even with the height. We’re seeing them everywhere in street style looks, but they’re also practical for everyday wear too. Wear them to the office with a satin skirt or out to a party with friends with trendy lace tights and shorts.

You can find these boots at most major retailers, no matter your price point, but we also shopped out a few of our favorites from online for you below.

When curating our list of the best travel pants, we held them to sky-high standards: They needed to be versatile enough to wear straight off the plane and into whatever adventure awaits, comfy enough for the bizarre yoga-esque positions you’ll find yourself in while attempting to sleep on along-haul flight, and stylish enough to pair seamlessly with the rest of your travel wardrobe (and avoid the dreaded overpacking guilt). Bonus points to pants with practical perks like wrinkle-resistance, technical fabrics, and — the holy grail — pockets!

Rob Kardashian “In a Better Place” as He Returns to TV: “He’s Way More Comfortable With Who He Is”

Rob Kardashian is “in a better place” these days, according to a source speaking with People. After years of withdrawing from the public and dealing with body-image and self-confidence struggles, the source says the 38-year-old is “way more comfortable with who he is.”

The reality-TV star made his return to television in the premiere of The Kardashians Season 7, which aired on October 23 and marked his first appearance on the show since 2016. According to the source, Rob “seems open to appear on the show more often.”

That new openness comes after years of keeping a low profile following the end of his relationship with Blac Chyna, with whom he shares daughter Dream Kardashian, now 8. The source adds that Rob has reached “a point in his life [where] he just doesn’t care as much what anyone thinks.”

When it comes to his past, the source says Rob “really struggled with body issues and self-confidence for years,” but now “negative comments don’t bother him anymore.”

On his own podcast appearance earlier this year, Rob offered insight into his mindset: “I’m not comfortable in my skin, so why would I wanna go be on camera and just be vulnerable and let people in? That’s not what I wanna do.” He went on: “There’s definitely nothing wrong between any of us,” referring to his family relationships. And he also said: “I like being around my family, so that stuff is good to me. Obviously, I have nothing against it. The reason I don’t is because I’m a homebody and I just choose, like I said, my peace and happiness.”

Meanwhile, the source says that Rob’s scenes on the show are “light and unscripted,” adding that “there is no pressure on him. And he enjoys it.”

Is Being Too Comfortable In A Relationship A Bad Thing?

by jummy84 October 2, 2025
written by jummy84

I can’t remember the creator because I swiped past it so fast I almost burned my fingertips. But basically, it was saying “if you’re comfortable, you’re bored and need to leave”. I panicked — I’ve been with my partner for almost two years now, my longest relationship. I don’t even feel like we had a super intense honeymoon period — I liked him, he liked me, we started seeing each other more and more. We moved in together, got a dog. Sure, for the first few months we were a bit love-drunk, but that settled into comfortable ease fairly quickly. It’s great. It’s chill. It’s nice.

15 Most Comfortable Bras of 2025, Tested and Reviewed

by jummy84 September 30, 2025
written by jummy84

According to lingerie experts that Glamour previously spoke to, when it comes to shopping for a bra, it’s all about the right fit for your breast shape. First figure out these three things: your breast volume (or fullness), breast shape (slender, compact, or asymmetric), and positioning (whether your breasts are closer to each other or you have chest space in between). This will help determine the style of bra that works best for you. For example, if you have fullness at the bottom, a balconette is your MVP but if you have fullness at the top, you might want more coverage and support with a T-shirt bra or triangle bralette.

Bulging, skin irritation, and discomfort can all be the results of a tight-fitting bra. On the other hand, lack of support from a too-loose bra is just as uncomfortable. The right bra—whether it’s a strapless bra, wireless, or push-up—should be snug around your ribcage, with straps and cups that mold to your chest. If the cups float in the center front, bulge, or cause your breasts to spill over, then it’s not the best bra fit.

And of course, when it comes to materials, it’s a mix of personal preference. Some of the most comfortable bras are made of softer-on-skin fabrics such as cotton or bamboo. That said, the right blend of nylon, spandex, and elastane can be equally pleasant to wear for long stretches. Of course, if you’re an active person and looking for a more versatile sports bra, keep an eye out for moisture-wicking, antimicrobial materials that don’t itch or chafe.

‘Soft Loafers’ Are the Most Comfortable and Practical Shoe Trend of Fall 2025

‘Soft Loafers’ Are the Most Comfortable and Practical Shoe Trend of Fall 2025

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Of all the shoe trends for fall, soft loafers might be the most comfortable and practical. So naturally, it hasn’t taken them long to become a total favorite among fashion pros.

Not sure what we mean by “soft loafers?” They’re like classic loafers, just with a slimmer silhouette. And as the name suggests, soft loafers are characterized by being more flexible and, well, soft than their counterparts. This might include gathered edges, very thin and flexible soles, or other details that give the shoes an elegantly lived-in feel.

We’re seeing this manifest in a few different ways, from classically sleek loafer styles in more pliable fabrics to a newer hybrid that looks like a cross between a boat shoe and a moccasin. For both, the defining traits are a slim silhouette, a low flat heel, and buttery soft leather or suede fabrics. And we’re seeing style influencers wearing them with everything from mini skirts (almost always with socks) to trousers to maxi dresses.

10 Most Comfortable Sneakers for Women, Reviewed by Our Editors

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Allbirds has become a big name in comfy footwear in the last few years, and one of their most stylish silhouettes is also super comfy—win-win. Made with a soft, cushiony foam and organic cotton canvas, the Piper sneakers are made with both comfort and sustainability in mind. As a rare bonus, these sneakers are actually machine-washable; the brand recommends removing the insoles and laces before cleaning on a gentle cycle.

What our reviewer says: “I specifically purchased these shoes wanting a low-top pair of white sneakers that would look cute with dresses, and they have not let me down. From casual cotton minidresses to linen maxidresses, everything in my wardrobe complements them. As an added bonus, they are the best walking shoes; I wore them on a recent trip to Italy, where we had back-to-back long days of walking and exploring, so they are Euro-summer approved. I also love that they’re made of natural materials, which makes them feel ultra-breathable. Worth noting: the shoelaces are a tad shorter than I’d like, and I usually double-knot to ensure they stay tied.” — Austen Tosone

What we love: Heel-first design; great arch support
What could improve: Limited colors

Heel-focused footwear brand Kuru upgraded its original Atom design with a better fit, springier cushioning, and improved heel support, all of which are important criteria for the most comfortable sneaker. We wish the design came in more colors, but we recommend the black or white colorways if you’re looking for something simple and walking-friendly.

What our reviewer says: “I’ve been searching for a pair of durable sneakers to handle my intense CrossFit workouts—and I finally found them. Feast your eyes on Kurur’s Atom 2. These sneakers feel like I’m literally walking on a cloud. They’re not only super comfortable and supportive, but also stylish—perfect for everything from walking to high-intensity training. Best of all, I didn’t even have to break them in.” — Chantal Waldholz, Glamour senior global director of audience development, social media, and analytics

What we love: Breathable, water-repellent uppers; wide sizes available
What could improve: Not as versatile as some other sneakers

If you find yourself reaching for orthotics, you may want to add the Vionic Walk Max sneakers to your cart; everything is already built in. They’ve even received a seal of approval from the American Podiatric Medical Association, so you can feel good about slipping into these for several hours knowing that podiatrists have signed off.

What our reviewer says: “I have pretty bad plantar fasciitis and I often walk 10,000 or more steps a day, so I’m super-particular about comfortable shoes. I’ve tried out a lot of sneakers, but the Vionic Walk Max remains my favorite. I’ve had my pair for years and have worn them for traveling, music festivals, casual hikes, and my day-to-day life in New York City, and they are still going strong. And, importantly, they don’t look like orthopedic sneakers!” — Sarah Chiwaya, editor and influencer

14 Best Ballet Flats That Are Stylish and Comfortable, According to Editors
Fashion

14 Best Ballet Flats That Are Stylish and Comfortable, According to Editors

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Everything you need to know about ballet flats

How to style ballet flats

The best part about ballet flats is that they work well with dresses and skirts, but they also pair perfectly with any type of denim. Wear them with cigarette jeans, à la Audrey Hepburn or Jennifer Lawrence, or go with trendy wide-leg jeans for an edgier vibe. During the cooler months, knee-high socks and chic tights can help keep you warm and are slim enough to slip into your shoes.

How to pick the right ballet flats

If you’re shopping with a specific season in mind, consider the materials: A suede or leather style is great for fall and winter, whereas in spring and summer, you’ll likely want to reach for something more breathable (like mesh or raffia) that won’t give your heels blisters. If you’re flat-footed or need additional arch support, look for a pair with cushioned insoles and elastic or adjustable Mary Jane straps. And if you have narrow or wide feet, your best bet is a pair of shoes in extended widths or half sizes.

Are ballet flats in style in 2025?

Ballet flats are absolutely in style this year, and while every color and material has its place, we’ve noticed a huge rise in red ballet flats—often in leather or mesh—to add a pop of color to otherwise neutral palettes. (Dakota Johnson did it best.) Silver and other metallic finishes are also fashionable, thanks to the popularity of Simone Rocha’s shiny flats. Classic black is also a great choice for fall and winter 2025, considering it goes with everything and fits nicely into fashion’s ongoing love affair with quirky minimalism.

Mary Jane options are also super popular right now, as are picks at both ends of the “look at me” spectrum. On the one hand, Ganni’s decked-out buckle flats (plus their many dupes) are everywhere, meaning that multiple straps and grommet details are extra hot. On the other, minimalist glove flats are fashion-insider faves. The takeaway? Pick any pair that speaks to you, and style them intuitively.
