Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment Season 3 delivered one of its most hilarious episodes this week as an unexpected and extremely entertaining triangle formed in the kitchen. The spotlight was on Abhishek Kumar, Samarth Jurel, and Jannat Zubair, whose playful chemistry turned a regular cooking challenge into pure comedy gold. The kitchen turned into a battleground of cuteness as Abhishek and Samarth competed to impress Jannat.

Laughter Chefs Season 3

New Show Hits Screen

From cracking quirky jokes to performing adorable antics in between cooking tasks, both boys seemed determined to win her attention. Their lighthearted rivalry added a fresh spark to the show, leaving viewers in splits. Adding more spice to the chaos was Ali Goni, who couldn’t resist poking fun at the duo. Calling them Chhotu and jokingly naming them his sidekicks, Ali’s one-liners were enough to send the studio into roaring laughter. His teasing not only intensified the friendly competition but also amplified the entertainment factor for the audience.

The audience reaction has been overwhelming, with fans flooding social media and calling the episode the funniest one of the season. The banter, the rivalry, and the accidental love triangle energy have made this episode a standout moment in Season 3. Recently, Abhishek Kumar opened up about the unexpectedly dramatic entry he and Samarth had to make on the show.

Laughter Chefs Season 3

He shared, “Brother, we thought we’d make a filmy entry… flying like heroes! But the Laughter Chefs team had a different plan. They hung us in harnesses and we had to cook like that! The challenges on this show are already tough. This was scary and so much fun at the same time. Samarth and I were just holding on, laughing, and trying not to fall.” This hilarious behind-the-scenes confession only added to the charm of the episode, proving that chaos and comedy go hand-in-hand on Laughter Chefs.

Veteran Kannada actor ‘Mysore’ Srikantayya Umesh died on Sunday in Bengaluru at the age of 80. The comedy giant, who boasted of a six-decade-long career, had been suffering from cancer for a while now and died after prolonged illness and hospitalisation. Fans took to social media to pay tribute.

Veteran Kannada actor and comedian MS Umesh died in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Umesh dies at age 80

Umesh died on Sunday after he was recently admitted to the hospital, family sources confirmed to PTI. He had been suffering from cancer for a while and breathed his last at the hospital.

As soon as the news broke, fans mourned his death on social media. “M.S. Umesh, the giant of the comedy world in Kannada cinema, has left us all behind. M.S. Umesh, who stepped into the world of colours as the first hero of children’s films, acted in 350 films during his successful artistic life spanning 6 decades,” wrote one.

A fan reminisced, “His character in Venkata in Sankata movie was gem. Om Shanti Umesh sir.” Another thanked him for entertaining the audience all these years, writing, “Never deceiving art, breathing life into the roles given to him, making us laugh and smile, Umesh anna, who shone in those days, has bid goodbye to life… His acting will always remain alive.”

JD(S) leader and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy wrote, “Umesh would make audiences float in a sea of laughter through his fresh humour.”

MS Umesh’s legacy

‘Mysore’ Srikantayya Umesh, popularly known as MS Umesh or simply Umesh, first played the lead in Makkala Rajya (1960) after featuring in several stage shows as a child actor. Born on 24 April 1945 in Mysuru, he was only four when he played a role in Master K Hirannaiah’s theatre group. Despite his silver screen debut, Umesh faced a lull in his career and had to return to the theatre until Katha Sangama (1977).

His portrayal as Thimmarayi in the Munithaayi episode featuring Rajinikanth and Aarathi fetched him multiple laurels, and there was no looking back for him after that. Since then, he gained recognition through films like Nagara Hole (1978), Apoorva Sangama (1984), Shruthi Seridaaga (1987), Neenu Nakkare Haalu Sakkare (1993), and Venkata in Sankata (2007).

Throughout his career, Umesh worked with all the greats, including Rajkumar, Sivaji Ganesan, Vishnu Vardhan, Ambareesh, Srinath, Shankar Nag, Ananth Nag, Arvind Ramesh, B Saroja Devi, and Bharathi.

“Do you think that we’re good parents?” Dekanalog has revealed the official US trailer for an acclaimed indie film from Canada titled The Mother and the Bear, made by talented Canadian-Chinese filmmaker Johnny Ma. The film premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival last year and it also played at a few other festivals and is finally opening in limited release (in the US) soon. In the snow-swept city of Winnipeg, school teacher Sumi is hospitalized after a fall. On hearing the news, her anxious mother, Sara, flies over from Seoul to be with her comatose daughter — once Sara sets herself up in the young woman’s apartment, she discovers she doesn’t really know Sumi at all. As Sara meddles in Sumi’s life via a dating app, she ends up on a journey that will leave her forever changed. “A stylized, whimsical narrative of crossed wires, secret lives, and conflicting agendas, the film is ‘a uniquely charming comedy about one woman’s quest to discover more about herself.” Starring Kim Ho-jung, Lee Won-jae, Jonathan Kim, Amara Pedroso, Kalyn Bomback, Susan Hanson, Samantha Kendrick, and Leere Park as Sumi. Looks amusing & heartfelt.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Johnny Ma’s film The Mother and the Bear, from YouTube:

The Mother and the Bear Poster

After 26-year-old Sumi (Leere Park) suffers an accident on the streets of wintry Winnipeg, Canada, her overbearing mother Sara (Kim Ho-jung) flies in from Seoul to be by her now comatose daughter’s side. Desperate to ensure Sumi will have someone to look after her in the future, Sara embarks on a mission to catfish a suitable (preferably Korean) husband before her daughter wakes up. However, as Sara meddles in Sumi’s life via a dating app, she ends up on a journey that will leave her forever changed. The Mother and the Bear is directed by Canadian-Chinese filmmaker Johnny Ma, director of the films Old Stone and To Live to Sing previously. Produced by Niv Fichman and Juan de Dios Larraín. This initially premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival last year. Dekanalog will debut Johnny Ma’s The Mother and the Bear film in select US theaters starting January 2nd, 2026 early next year. Bill Maher Reveals Why He Refuses to Do Stand-Up Comedy Again

by jummy84 November 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Bill Maher doesn’t have any plans to hit the road again for more stand-up comedy shows due to the current intense political divide in the United States.

The comedian and host of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher recently chatted with Patton Oswalt on his Club Random podcast, where he opened up about why he’s decided to stop doing live comedy shows.

“I feel like it was a great choice because I don’t want to be out there in this country in this political atmosphere. I could get shot by the left or the right,” he said. “It’s a good time to not be out there.”

In addition to getting “tired of the travel,” Maher said he also “got tired of being twice as funny as people who were selling twice as many tickets as me.”

“That’s, you know, partly because I’m on TV every week,” he continued. “And not that I didn’t sell a lot of tickets and do great theaters, but I didn’t sell arenas, and some people did who frankly are not that great. But, you know, when the audience is 35 to 45, they don’t want to see somebody 70. I want to see my generation, and it’s OK. I still have my show. I have this. I didn’t need it. I miss it, but that’s part of what it is.”

Maher, who has been outspoken about his moderately democratic views for years, describing himself as “an old-school liberal,” has faced backlash from both sides of the political aisle.

While he’s regularly criticized Donald Trump and other conservative figures, in April, the comedian shared his new perspective on the president following their meeting at the White House. Maher concluded that Trump was actually “gracious and measured,” and not like the “person who plays a crazy person on TV,” drawing criticism from some, such as Marc Maron.

Maher’s most recent comedy special, Bill Maher: Is Anyone Else Seeing This?, premiered earlier this year on HBO.

Goofy Italian Comedy ‘Sicily Express’ Trailer – A Magical Garbage Bin

“Work in Milan and sleep in Sicily? This Christmas, it will be possible.” Ha! I wonder if this a funny concept only Italians will understand? Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a an extra wacky comedy mini-series titled Sicily Express, ready for streaming on Netflix starting in early December. Another holiday offering from Netflix – this one is really made just for Italians to laugh about. With Christmas around the corner, two blundering Sicilian friends working in Milan discover a dumpster that transports them to their families in seconds. It’s a fun concept where this trash bin allows them to travel instantly between North Italy (where Milan is) and South Italy (where Sicily and Palermo and Naples are located). The new miniseries is written, directed, and starring Ficarra & Picone. The beloved Sicilian duo returns with a five-episode holiday comedy launching in December. Along with Salvatore Ficarra & Valentino Picone, the cast also includes Katia Follesa & Barbara Tabita, along with Max Tortora, Sergio Vastano, Enrico Bertolino, Adelaide Massari, & Angelo Tosto, plus a special appearance by Giorgio Tirabassi. This is exceptionally goofy & the humor is dumb, but I gotta say – it does look fun enough to watch. Especially during the holidays. Enjoy.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Netflix’s comedy series Sicily Express, direct from YouTube:

Sicily Express Poster

Sicily Express, also known as Sicilia Express in Italian, is a comedy mini-series created and made and written and directed by the Italian actors / comedians Salvatore Ficarra & Valentino Picone – aka Ficarra and Picone – also directors of La matassa, It May Be Love But It Doesn’t Show, Andiamo a quel paese, L’ora legale, Once Upon a Time in Bethlehem, and the series “Framed! A Sicilian Murder Mystery” previously. With additional writing by Fabrizio Cestaro, Nicola Guaglianone, Fabrizio Testini. Produced by Tramp Limited. Bank Thiti To Star In Thai Heist Comedy ‘Esarn Seven’

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

EXCLUSIVE: Thai rising star ‘Bank’ Thiti Mahayotaruk (Hormones: The Series) will head the cast of action comedy Esarn Seven, produced by Bangkok-based production outfit TSixtySix in collaboration with Kliff Studios, 185 Films, True-CJ Creations and White Light Post.

TSixtySix is the Thai-language production arm of production services outfit Indochina Productions, which has serviced and co-produced global titles including The White Lotus: Season 3, The Creator, The Meg 2 and Extraction. Kliff Studios recently co-produced Cannes Critics Week winner A Useful Ghost.

Directed by Chantana Tiprachat (Nha Harn), Esarn Seven follows a down-on-his-luck filmmaker who returns to his hometown in Thailand’s northeast to reclaim his family’s stolen land from a corrupt local politician. To fulfil his mission, he assembles a motley crew of old friends, locals and misfits for a high-stakes heist set against the chaos and colour of the Bun Bang Fai rocket festival.

The film will be produced by TSixtySix’s Cod Satrusayang, Tri Kanchanadul, Siripas Yomchinda and Nicholas Simon, with Kliff Studios’ Tanat Tananivit, Kip Tiaviwat and Annie Yang serving as executive producers. Patchara Jiaravanon and Yaovarat Nirandara are also on board the project as executive producers.

“We wanted to highlight an overlooked part of Thailand for our next film and we found the perfect story,” said Cod Satrusayang, producer and head of TSixtySix. “It’s the kind of film that captures the spirit of modern Esarn – funny, defiant, and bursting with life – while offering international audiences a distinctly local story told with global craft.”

Indochina Productions founder Nicholas Simon said: “We are investing heavily in Thai content as we see its world class potential, especially with the wealth of young talent.”

The ensemble cast also includes Praew Chermawee Suwanpanuchoke (Dr Climax), Chatchai Chinsri (Call Me Daddy),  Thiti Srinual (The Undertaker) and Wisarut Himmarat (A Useful Ghost) as part of the heist crew, while Thai boxing legend Samart Payak-arun will play the role of the antagonist Governor Por.

Principal photography will begin later this year in Nakhon Ratchasima and Nong Khai, aiming for a Winter 2026 release.

“Maybe Merv could stay in my room tonight?” “Ohh, no, sadly he’s just fallen asleep.” 🐶 Prime Video has revealed the first official trailer for a fun romantic comedy movie called Merv, arriving to watch streaming in December. This is skipping theaters entirely and will be on Prime Video starting on December 10th – one month from now. Though it looks cute enough to get people to theaters! “There’s nothing more complicated than a breakup. Except when you’re sharing a dog.” A recently separated couple take their shared dog on a holiday trip to cheer him up, but end up reconnecting romantically. The dog’s name is Merv, hence the name of the film being Merv. This almost seems like a spiritual sequel to 500 Days of Summer, also borrowing the Forgetting Sarah Marshall concept of running into each other, but with a super adorable dog being at the center of it all. Starring Zooey Deschanel as Anna and Charlie Cox as Russ, with Chris Redd, Patricia Heaton, & Ellyn Jameson. This looks fun enough for a nice holiday watch under a warm blanket. Enjoy.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster art) for Jessica Swale’s comedy Merv, direct from PV’s YouTube:

Merv Trailer

Merv Poster

🐶 “A different breed of romantic comedy.” When their beloved dog Merv loses his spark after their split, Anna (Zooey Deschanel) and Russ (Charlie Cox) are forced into the world’s most awkward co-parenting arrangement. Hoping to shake Merv out of his funk, Russ takes him to Florida for a much-needed getaway—only for Anna to show up unexpectedly. As Merv slowly gets his groove back, turns out fixing their dog’s broken heart may lead to a few sparks of their own. Merv is directed by British writer / filmmaker Jessica Swale, director of the film Summerland previously and eps of the series “Ten Percent” most recently, plus other short films. The screenplay is written by Dane Clark & Linsey Stewart. Produced by Matthew Baer, Roma Downey. This hasn’t premiered at any fests or elsewhere, as far as we know. Amazon debuts Swale’s Merv comedy streaming on Prime Video starting December 10th, 2025 coming up. Who wants to watch?

Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr’s beloved comedy air date confirmed

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

If you’re missing Alan Carr after his astonishing run on Celebrity Traitors, don’t despair: the comedian’s hit ITV sitcom is returning to screens later this month for its third season.

Changing Ends is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age series, which sees Carr dramatise his childhood, growing up as the son of a football manager and not quite understanding what made him different to the other boys at his school.

Child actor Oliver Savell plays a young Alan Carr, while the comedian himself features as a narrator, appearing on-screen to offer context and reflections on the show’s storylines.

Changing Ends has earned a generally positive reception from critics and viewers alike, becoming ITVX’s most-viewed comedy in 2023, with Savell subsequently earning a BAFTA nomination for his uncanny turn as Carr.

The next chapter in the sitcom is available to stream from the morning of Sunday 23rd November 2025 on ITVX, with a linear broadcast to follow at 10:05pm that night on ITV1 – just after I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

It’s an enviable lead-in for the series, which ITV will be hoping receives a Celebrity Traitors bump after Carr emerged as the breakout star of the recent season, with many viewers declaring him a “national treasure” for his masterful hoodwinking.

Carr himself acknowledged on Celebrity Traitors Uncloaked that the reaction to his participation has been more intense than his earlier television work, with industry pundits predicting high-profile follow-up gigs in the comic’s future.

For now, though, it’s a return to the comfortingly familiar ground of Changing Ends. The synopsis for season 3, courtesy of ITV teases a crush for the teenaged Carr on a new character named Jake.

Oliver Savell, Shaun Dooley and Colin Salmon star in Changing Ends season 3 ITV / Babycow Productions

It asks: “Does love struck Alan suppress this crush or shout about it from the rooftops?”

“Whatever happens, it’s going to be tough as Alan has the thankless task of navigating the adolescent minefields that are sleepovers, swimming lessons and nights out with the boys – and the girls.

“But it’s not all doom and gloom as some unexpected allies give Alan a much-needed glimpse of a hopeful future and they’re not a million miles away from his own doorstep.”

Changing Ends seasons 1-2 are available on ITVX. Season 3 premieres on ITV1 at 10:05pm on Sunday 23rd November 2025.

This 'the Best Time That Standup Comedy Has Ever Had'

This ‘the Best Time That Standup Comedy Has Ever Had’

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

If Tom Hanks is known as the “everyman” of movies — you know, the ordinary guys, so approachable and unpretentious that just about everybody can relate to him in one way or another — then Jim Gaffigan is the “everyman” of comedy. He focuses his humor on everyday observations about universal experiences. And although most outsiders see the divisive political climate at this time in history as putting humor on trial, Gaffigan looks at it differently.

“I think this will go down in history — and it may be ending as we speak — but like, this is the best time that standup comedy has ever had,” he says. “When I started — versus even in the time of Lenny Bruce or George Carlin — comedy was a much more middle-class/lower middle-class occupation, meaning, there was not an expectation of an upper middle-class existence. Now, if you’re a functional comedian, you can make a great living. So, from a monetary standpoint, like having a kind of financial security, it would never exist. But it exists now.”

These days political humor gets comedians in hot water no matter which side of the issues they fall. But Gaffigan chooses to not go there, siting the pandemic as an example. “Take politics out of it,” he says. “There were expectations that you can address it. But, people, we’ve gone through the pandemic; we don’t want to hear too much about it. … There are comedians that will have very strong views, you know, and have a formula of bringing up this hot button issue. Their audience will stay with them. They’ll have some brilliant insights surrounding it. But I’m kind of of the opinion that, you know, people don’t wanna live in denial, but they also want a break from it.”

The Illinois native has accomplished a whole lot since moving to New York in 1990 to pursue a career in comedy. It all began when a friend in an acting class dared him to attend a stand-up seminar that required the students to do a live comedy set at the end of the course. He loved it, but it began a cycle of attempting to determine — and nailing down — his style. The guy now known as the “clean comic” with the laid-back delivery tried everything from impressions to “angry comedy.” Seven years later, he found his voice, and his comedy has been evolving ever since.

Gaffigan performs onstage during the 2025 Night of Too Many Stars benefiting Next for Autism.

Some might call the quiet confidence he projects on stage courageous, but Gaffigan sees it differently. “I think it’s just mental illness, honestly,” he jokes. But on a more serious note, he compares the mental psyching up a comedian must do on stage to what parents face every day. “I see this as a parent, that we develop these kind of metaphorical calluses or scabs that make us much more resistant.”

Parenting five children, ages 13-21, has been the inspiration for much of his act and a catalyst for the evolution of his humor, because, as he says, if you have that many kids, you have to have a sense of humor. “I’ve said this for years — if your kids aren’t annoying you or you aren’t frustrated by the task of parenting, that means you’re not participating in the task of parenting,” he says. “I think the love I have for my children and the absolute fear that I’m failing colossally is shared by every parent. So the impact of parenting is so enormous on my stand-up.”

Parenting teenagers in this day and age of social media has not been easy, one that Gaffigan calls “a disaster” and “impossible” — but it certainly has resulted in both his personal growth and his growth as a comedian. “The fact that I have this approach of the ‘drowning continues’ is something that is a nice reprieve for parents. Do you know what I mean? Where they’re not alone. The struggles of being a parent and the struggles of your child are so understandably private. I have this joke right now where I talk about parents of teenagers always sound like they’re hiding something, and it really resonates.

“It’s that experience of parenting that has evolved. So people that enjoy my standup, they might be at a different point in their parental journey, but they can identify with what I’m talking about.”

Gaffigan with his wife Jeannie, left, and their children attending a ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ world premiere in 2016.

Paul Bruinooge/Patrick McMullan

Caroline Hirsch, founder and former owner of the New York comedy club Carolines on Broadway, is known for an innate knack for identifying the next big thing in comedy… and Gaffigan was one of those comedians. “I first met Jim when he was performing and honing his craft very early in his career at my club [Carolines on Broadway] on Broadway,” she recalls. “Even then, he had such a distinct voice, literally and comedically. There was this sharp observational humor and a quiet confidence about him that stood out. He could make the everyday and the mundane feel hilarious and relatable without ever being mean-spirited.”

Hirsch also reflected on his professional evolution. “It’s been incredible to watch Jim’s growth over the years,” she adds. “His material has deepened. He’s still just as funny, but there’s a warmth and perspective that have come with his experiences as a father, husband and seasoned performer. Jim has managed to stay true to his comedic voice while continuing to evolve creatively, which is why he remains one of the most respected and beloved comedians in the industry today.”

Respected, indeed. Gaffigan is a seven-time Grammy nominated comedian, actor, writer, producer, two-time New York Times best-selling author, three-time Emmy winning top touring performer, and multi-platinum-selling recording artist. Yet, he still has an air about him that is humble, sincere and, as Hirsch put it, warm.

“I feel like if I’m humble and sincere, it’s out of necessity, you know what I mean?” he jokes, proving the point. “Like, I think, if something could go wrong or will get complicated, it will happen to me. It’s kind of an ongoing joke with my manager. But that being said, I’m also grateful and appreciative of the things I’ve gotten to do.”

“Why does Saint Nick get all the credit? Moms do all the work.” It’s Mom’s time to have some fun! Prime Video has debuted their official trailer for a Christmas comedy movie called Oh. What. Fun, from director Michael Showalter. This raucous comedy is ready to debut streaming in December – it’s skipping theaters entirely for an online release. Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Claire Clauster – she makes the Christmas magic happen every year for her family but her children & grandchildren don’t realize the effort it takes, until she goes missing. Claire’s already set off on a festive adventure of her own – it’s one that doesn’t involve cooking, cleaning, or coordinating anyone else’s chaos. When they realize she’s missing, their holiday is at risk until she returns to give them a celebration they deserve. Along with Pfeiffer, it also stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Danielle Brooks, Denis Leary, Dominic Sessa, Havana Rose Liu, Maude Apatow, Eva Longoria, Jason Schwartzman, Devery Jacobs, Joan Chen. The fun film is “a wink to every overworked holiday host, the film celebrates family, freedom, and the unexpected magic of a Christmas gone off-script.” Looks crazy fun and kooky and wild! Might be entertaining enough to watch with the whole family one evening. 🎄

But this year, as her grown kids & distracted husband get swept up in their own seasonal drama, they make a crucial mistake: they forget their mom. By the time they realize she’s missing, Claire’s already set off on a festive adventure of her own – it’s one that doesn’t involve cooking, cleaning, or coordinating anyone else’s chaos. As her family scrambles to find her and salvage their Christmas, Claire rediscovers what the holidays mean when you’re finally free to put yourself first. Oh. What. Fun. is directed by the American filmmaker Michael Showalter, director of the films The Baxter, Hello My Name is Doris, The Big Sick, The Lovebirds, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Spoiler Alert, and The Idea of You previously.
