New Anthony Bourdain Episodes Available on CNN Streaming Service

When CNN launches its new streaming service as part of its All Access subscription tier on Tuesday, it will have a tasty surprise for fans of the late Anthony Bourdain.

CNN says that its new subscription offering will include Bourdain programming that has never been available to stream, until now.

The program is called Prime Cuts, and it served as a companion series to the flagship show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. Prime Cuts combined clips from the series with revealing interviews with Bourdain, who reminisced about the trips, people, food and cultures that he encountered, and gave a behind-the-scenes look at the show.

“These reflective, candid conversations reveal behind the scenes insights and Tony at his best — deeply honest about his travels, his work, and what the journey meant to him,” CNN says.

Prime Cuts episodes (an hour long, with commercials) ran on CNN ahead of each season premiere of Parts Unknown, serving as previews to get viewers hungry for the new episodes. But after airing on CNN (many of the episodes ran only once, more than a decade ago), they never ran again, and were not included in the streaming libraries available on CNN+ or CNN Max.

The new All Access tier will be the first time that the entire CNN Anthony Bourdain collection, including every episodes of Parts Unknown, Prime Cuts, and the 2021 film Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain, will be available to stream.

More than seven years after his death at age 61, Bourdain remains a cultural force, and a powerful draw for CNN, which poached him from his previous perch at the Travel Channel in 2012. Bourdain and Parts Unknown effectively kickstarted CNN’s original series push, giving it instant credibility and gravitas.

At the show’s series premiere party in 2013 at Porter House in New York’s Time Warner Center, he expressed excitement to this reporter at the possibility of CNN’s resources getting him places he couldn’t access before, and trepidation in acknowledging that his show’s format was a departure from what CNN was known for.

Of course, the show was a hit, and became a staple of CNN’s programming lineup.

A former chef at the New York brasserie Les Halles (the steak frites was the best in town), Bourdain first became a national name with the publication of his 2000 book Kitchen Confidential, a no-holds-barred memoir of his life as a chef and cook. That book led to a number of shows, from A Cook’s Tour and No Reservations to The Layover and, ultimately, Parts Unknown.

CNN Hire Washington Post Fashioin Critic Rachel Tashjian

CNN treads regularly in the halls of government, but now it’s getting ready for a stroll on the catwalk.

Rachel Tashjian, most recently the fashion critic for The Washington Post, will join CNN as a senior style reporter. She will be part of a team under the supervision of Choire Sicha, who was hired in May to develop a group of journalists focused on features as the news outlet readies a new digital product that will amplify certain beats and topics that may not get as much attention during the primetime lineup of its flagship TV operation. Tashjian will report to Fiona Sinclair Scott, global editor of CNN Style.

“I am absolutely stoked that I finally get to work with Rachel,” said Sicha, in a statement. “She is a brilliant reporter who is also perfectly hilarious, insightful, curious and empathetic, whether she’s writing about thrifting or about Dior.”

CNN has already begun running ads for a new digital subscription service that promises to grant access to “unlimited streaming and articles, including 24/7 global news, award-winning shows and films and more.” Mark Thompson, CNN’s CEO, has articulated a strategy of moving the news company beyond its dependence on cable distribution into new arenas where it can attract a broader set of customers who will pay for its products in different ways.

Tashjian’s hire will have CNN jousting with other major news outlets such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal that see fashion as a subject worth deeper coverage Tashjian is also the creator of Opulent Tips, an “invitation-only” newsletter that provides shopping and personal style advice.

She has also worked as the fashion news director at Harper’s Bazaar, and as the first fashion critic at GQ. She profiled leading designers including Miuccia Prada, Maria Grazia Chiuri of Dior and Nicolas Ghesquière of Louis Vuitton.

Tashjian attended the University of Pennsylvania and holds a B.A. in English and art history. She will be based out of CNN’s New York Bureau.

CNN Live News Stream Being Pulled From HBO Max

by jummy84 October 3, 2025
written by jummy84

CNN Max, the cable news network’s live news stream, will no longer be available on HBO Max starting on Nov. 17.

CNN is about the launch is own streaming channel this fall, although an exact launch dates has not yet been announced.

HBO Max will continue to stream CNN Originals like Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy and The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper.

Alex MacCallum, executive vice president of digital products and services for CNN, said in a statement, “CNN has benefitted tremendously from its two years of offering a live 24/7 feed of news to HBO Max customers. We learned from HBO Max’s large base of subscribers what people want and enjoy the most from CNN, and with the launch of our own new streaming subscription offering coming later this fall, we look forward to building off that and growing our audience with this unique, new offering.”

CNN launched the livestream in the fall of 2023, after the short life of another streaming venture, CNN+.

The new subscription streaming offering will feature a selection of live channels and on-demand programming, designed to put all of the network’s video offerings in one place. Warner Bros. Discovery, meanwhile, changed the name of Max back to HBO Max earlier this year, reflecting a reversion to a narrower selection of content offerings.

bitchy | CNN: Princess Kate ‘has become incredibly confident in her duties’ away from cameras

by jummy84 September 20, 2025

Here are more photos of Melania Trump and the Princess of Wales’s Scout event in Windsor on Thursday. While I’m not a fan of either woman, even a hater like me can acknowledge that the event went “well.” There were no major gaffes, the photos were mostly good, and Kate didn’t have to speak in public, like the Dr. Biden incident from 2022. Melania seemed to enjoy herself and enjoy having a relaxed event with kids. Melania was enjoying herself so much, it made me wonder why she doesn’t organize these kinds of events in Washington, you know? She’s such a worthless First Lady, she does nothing with that platform. The same could be said for Kate – a global platform and a sycophantic domestic press, she could do so much more with very little effort. Instead of getting into all of that, the international media was happy to cover a lighter event and they really laid it on thick for both women. From CNN:

Their joint appearance with 4-to 6-year-old Squirrel Scouts on the grounds of Windsor Castle marked a strategic deployment of Kate’s star power as Britain worked to impress the Trumps. But it also offered a more humanizing moment following Wednesday’s pomp and circumstance – and a reminder of the unpredictability of small children at official events.

“I need some green!” a child clad in a red scouting uniform shrieked as the princess and the first lady arrived in a grassy area covered with arts and crafts materials – including the makings for “bug hotels” — accompanied by chief scout and television personality Dwayne Fields.

Since her return to the public eye after cancer treatment, the princess’ appearances have largely focused on the core themes of her royal portfolio: early childhood support and education, children’s mental health and the importance of spending time outdoors. She is joint president of the Scout Association, a title she’s held since 2020.

While it has taken time for her to grow comfortable with the spotlight and the huge public interest in her, away from cameras, the princess has become incredibly confident in her duties and genuinely enjoys engaging with people of all ages at events. Raising awareness around the importance of early childhood, a Kensington Palace spokesperson has previously told CNN, has become her “life’s work.”

Trump has placed a similar focus on the well-being of children during her tenure.

“This is Mrs. Trump – she’s the first lady of the United States. Did you know that? Big country across the water, so you’re going to help Mrs. Trump here,” Fields said as he introduced her to young scouts eager to show off their creations.

While Kate sat in the grass, Trump stayed in a red chair at a small table as a little boy showed her how to create prints with leaves foraged from the castle’s grounds. She picked up a red marker and began drawing on a piece of paper — until a little girl grabbed her marker and walked away with it, later returning to sit on the first lady’s lap.

“Show me how, what I should do,” Trump said, delightedly querying the children as they affixed stickers to their bug hotels, or pop-up habitats for insects.

[From CNN]

Melania really was “delighted” with the kids, and she seemed to be having a blast. Kate, well…in most of the photos, Kate is focused more on posing for the cameras than actually interacting naturally with the kids. I also find CNN’s infantilization of Kate rather tiresome – she’s 43 years old, you don’t have to give her a gold star for prancing around with Eva Braun. “While it has taken time for her to grow comfortable with the spotlight and the huge public interest in her, away from cameras, the princess has become incredibly confident in her duties.” Kate is… only confident when she’s away from the cameras?
