AIIMS Delhi neurologist warns ‘clean your air purifiers’; shares tips to protect your lungs amid rising air pollution

With pollution levels rising in Delhi and Gurgaon, neurologist Dr Priyanka Sehrawat shares essential tips on air purifier care, masks, hydration, and diet.

With the winter season settling in, Delhi and Gurgaon are once again witnessing a surge in air pollution, with AQI levels frequently climbing into the “very unhealthy” range. Smoggy mornings, thick haze, and rising cases of respiratory issues have made it difficult for residents to breathe easy. Many people are turning to air purifiers at home and masks while stepping outside, but not everyone is aware of the correct precautions to take. Dr Priyanka Sehrawat, a neurologist and general physician, AIIMS Delhi, shares key advice in her November 28 Instagram post for residents relying on air purifiers and masks during this high-pollution season.

How often should you change your air purifier filter

“This video is for people in Delhi and Gurgaon. If you are using air purifiers at home, many people do, but you need to pay attention. Our lungs filter pollutants like PM 2.5, and the filter in the purifier gets blocked. So it’s necessary to change the air purifier filter once every 2–3 weeks,” Dr Sehrawat said.

She added, “If pollution levels are very high, say above 500 AQI, you might even need to change it every 10 days. Also, if you’re going outside frequently, make sure to wear an N95 mask. Cloth masks or the regular blue surgical masks will not protect you from pollutants.”

What other precautions can help protect your health

Alongside air purification, Dr Sehrawat stressed the importance of staying hydrated and maintaining a nutritious diet. “Cases of flu are also increasing, so drink enough water, eat vitamin C-rich foods, and maintain a high-protein diet. Take care of yourself,” she advised.

Following these simple yet vital precautions can help residents navigate the worsening air quality while protecting their respiratory and overall health.

Young Thug’s Friend PeeWee Roscoe Addresses Rumors Rapper Snitched On Him: ‘Jeff Clean As Listerine’

Whew, boy drama!

Young Thug is facing backlash online after fans resurfaced an alleged leaked interrogation tape that appears to feature him mentioning Peewee Roscoe. The two-hour clip has gone viral.

Roscoe was previously accused of sh**ting at Lil Wayne’s tour bus in 2015, but he is now stepping forward to defend his longtime friend.

In an Instagram video, Roscoe dismissed the online accusations and stood firmly by Thug. “Jeff clean as listerine,” he said, making it clear he does not believe Thug cooperated against him. Roscoe also added that Thug had always tried to “pull me out the hole,” and he insisted the rapper never snitched on him.

The tape originally surfaced nearly two years ago, but fans have reignited the drama on Twitter. Some tied the controversy to Thug’s feud with Gunna, though Roscoe’s defense may shift the conversation.

What are your thoughts on this messy situation?

Big Boi Teams With Whirpool for Washer-Dryer That Plays "So Fresh, So Clean"

Big Boi Teams With Whirpool for Washer-Dryer That Plays “So Fresh, So Clean”

by jummy84 August 24, 2025
written by jummy84

Thanks to modern technological advancements, your fridge can preemptively order your favorite soda, and your garage door can be opened from the next town over. Now, your washing machine can host an OutKast concert right from your laundry room.

OK, much like the promise of AI technologies, that’s a little bit of a misnomer. Instead, the ATLiens’ own Big Boi has teamed up with Whirlpool for a limited edition Front Load Washer (a combination washer and dryer set) that plays “So Fresh, So Clean” sometime during the wash cycle. And if you somehow hear “Bombs Over Baghdad” instead, you’d better run for the hills.

Whirlpool announced the unofficial washer of the “Player’s Ball” in a recent Instagram post, with Senior Brand Manager Morgan LaLonde saying that “with a washer this fresh, it warranted the freshest collab.” (The campaign is meant to help promote Whirlpool’s new “FreshFlowVent System.”) Meanwhile, Big Boi said he was “all in,” adding that, “Now your laundry looks fresh, smells fresh, and even sounds fresh.” No word yet on what André 3000 thinks about the move, but he’s likely practicing on an ever bigger instrument than 7 piano sketches.

If you want your clothes to be “cooler than a polar bear’s toenails,” then you’re in luck as Whirlpool and Big Boi are giving away one machine, including free installation. Just follow @WhirlpoolUSA on Instagram and like and comment on this post with the hashtag #whirlpoolsofresh. Then, tag some friends for additional entries and maybe just a smidgen of personal embarrassment. The contest runs through Tuesday, September 23.

Given André 3000’s continued disinterest in an OutKast reunion, you can’t really blame Big Boi for the partnership. At the same time, moves like this always smack of some level of in-authenticity, and they regularly position art as mere fodder for commerce. However, at the end of the day, it sure beats a fan that hums to the beat of KISS songs or a blender that also plays ’90s screamo.
