Hulu Passes on La LA Anthony, Kim Kardashian Pilot ‘Group Chat’

by jummy84 April 3, 2026
written by jummy84

Hulu has opted not to pick up the comedy pilot “Group Chat,” Variety has learned. The show was inspired by La La Anthony’s book “The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness” and hailed from writer Kenya Barris and executive producer Kim Kardashian.

The project was first announced as being in development back in 2024 under Kardashian’s first-look deal with 20th Television. Anthony starred in the pilot in addition to executive producing, while Kardashian was set to guest star and serve as narrator on the series. The cast also included Yaya DaCosta, Melanie Liburd, Rebecca Rittenhouse, and Stephanie Suganami.

But Anthony and Kardashian are staying in business together. Both are attached as executive producers on an untitled Tracy Oliver comedy series currently in development at Hulu. Oliver is also an executive producer on the project in addition to writing. 20th Television is the studio.

The logline for the new project states, “When the Bay Area’s most sought-after crisis manager for professional athletes finds her own life upended by her husband’s scandal, she turns to the three women who’ve been by her side through every version of her life. Together they navigate dating, ambition, motherhood, and the glamorous mess of starting over.”

Oliver is perhaps best known for writing the hit 2017 comedy feature “Girls Trip,” which grossed over $140 million worldwide. She went on to write films like “The Blackening,” “The Sun Is Also a Star,” and “Little.” On the TV side, she is known for developing “The First Wives Club” TV series at BET+ and for creating the Amazon Prime Video series “Harlem,” which ran for three seasons.

OIiver is repped by CAA, Artists First, and Myman Greenspan. Kardashian is repped by WME. Anthony is repped by Linden Entertainment, WME, and Sloane Offer.

Chat Pile / Hayden Pedigo: In the Earth Again Album Review

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

In the Earth Again is set at a glacial pace, allowing each element to coalesce in its own time. The first two tracks descend into murky purgatory: Instrumental opener “Outside” is led by Pedigo, his plaintive guitar backed by additional axe work from Chat Pile guitarist Luther Manhole, Busch, and Cap’n Ron, who traditionally handles percussion but plays a powerslide lap steel on some of these songs. That track flows seamlessly into “Demon Time,” a hypnotic number in which Busch prophesies the burning of all the castles in the world and the return of every demon. “And they will find you/And they will fuck you up,” he sings, his voice low and even. Despite their tranquil sound, “Outside” and “Demon Time” are all tension, no release. So when “Never Say Die!” begins with a bulldozing power chord and a nuclear kick—the first percussion on the record—it’s pure catharsis. It’s the most characteristic Chat Pile cut on the album: sludgy, detuned, and merciless.

The rest of In the Earth Again alternates between vocal-centric songs and instrumental tracks. “Behold a Pale Horse” is a Pedigo/Manhole duet full of lovely counterpoint curdled by reverb. “Fission/Fusion” begins as a noisy, jolting scrum before settling into something more Metallica adjacent. And “I Got My Own Blunt to Smoke” finds Busch alone with his guitar, seemingly interpolating Timbaland. It’s only a five-note descending scale, but Busch draws out its melodrama to an almost cartoonish degree. It’s hard to imagine that, in light of the goofy cultural references he’s sprinkled across Chat Pile’s past work, he doesn’t know exactly what he’s doing.

Where field recordings and tape loops make indelible contributions to the record’s atmosphere, they fall flat on its eight-minute centerpiece, “The Matador.” “Things fall apart!” Busch yowls several times, and it’s here Chat Pile and Pedigo’s shared sensibilities hold together least. They open the song with nearly two minutes of tape loops before the drums, bass, and guitar build gradually into a monster lick. The music chugs ceaselessly but loses its punch on the home stretch. There’s a great four-minute song here, but the long closing guitar solo is gratuitous, as is the sluggish intro.

Chat Pile and Hayden Pedigo Team Up and Get Dirty

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

On the surface, and let’s be honest, underneath the surface too, Chat Pile and Hayden Pedigo make unlikely collaborators. The intersection of DIY noise rock and instrumental guitar soli (as John Fahey called it) has been a lonely crossroads, but somehow the Oklahoma City musicians make it look like a fruitful place to cut deals and hatch plots.

Both Pedigo and Chat Pile have some things in common—locale being the most obvious, since Hayden grew up in the Texas Panhandle. And both have clearly figured out how to attract an audience to their usually marginal styles of music, in ways that go beyond talent—there are plenty of turbulent weirdos and skilled Fahey acolytes out there in the dingy burgs of the fading frontier, but few have headlined Dutch heavy-music festivals (Chat Pile) or modeled on a fashion runway (Pedigo). In the Earth Again (October 31) provides a look at what makes each of these artists stick out, and what might bind them together.

At least since Metallica’s The Black Album, it’s been no secret that heavy dynamics can pair surprisingly well with melodic elements. Chat Pile tweaks the formula by hinting at consonance while jettisoning commercial metal’s production values. With Pedigo’s cleanly picked yet brooding lines supporting their corroded textures and raw nerves, Chat Pile’s sound achieves a new kind of sweep. Pedigo’s studied approach, meanwhile, gains an unsettling focus often lacking in his sometimes overly streamlined compositions. Hardcore fans of either band might object first—on tracks like glittering instrumental opener “Outside,” Chat Pile’s violence has been curbed, while the pummeling howl of cuts like the “Never Say Die!” submerge Pedigo’s thoughtful starkness underneath a wave of numb, mutilated fury.

But even when disappearing in service of the other artist, both Chat Pile and Pedigo come off somehow stronger. Their shared vision of the forgotten Southwest, curdled cowboy illusions, and grubby rural-suburban dystopia packing a powerful punch. Some effective blends do occur, merging Pedigo’s forlorn twang with Chat Pile’s unhinged bluster, as on doomer anthem “The Magic of the World,” or “Demon Time,” which features exquisitely bleary vocals from Raygun Busch and a thorny Pedigo lead, all set off by tolling death-chords from Chat Pile guitarist Luther Manhole and bassist Stin. And the contrast of CP drummer Cap’n Ron’s remorseless, wet-cement rhythms with Pedigo’s barbed burble (check out the deranged “Fission_Fusion”) always delivers a jolt. The track with the best title on the album, “I Got My Own Blunt to Smoke,” shows Pedigo at his unadorned best, while the middle section of “Radioactive Dreams” is a blast of chugging ache—pure, uncut Chat Pile.

The real surprise, though, lies in how this collaboration reveals the feral streak that has always run through Pedigo’s acoustic guitar meditations, and the thwarted tenderness that lies at the heart of Chat Pile’s wounded roar. Wordless country-blues and scarred, sludge-laden laments both turn out to be different strains of Americana, a hopeless, disfigured shadow country that might form the republic’s true face.

Sandra Oh on Grey’s Anatomy Group Chat

In season three, Burke abandoned Cristina at the altar and then just took off, eventually winning a Harper Avery award elsewhere and then at some point, moving to Zurich, Switzerland to open his own hi-tech hospital. He got married, started a family, and then in season 10, he invited Cristina to his hospital to take it over for him as he retired.

Isaiah Washington left the series after it was reported that he called costar T.R. Knight a gay slur during an argument on set with Patrick Dempsey, and all his defenses just kept making it worse before he finally was let go from the series. Apparently he and ABC made up, because they let him return for a second in 2014.

As for what Washington has said of the incident? He later issued a public apology, adding in another statement, “I can also no longer deny to myself that there are issues I obviously need to examine within my own soul, and I’ve asked for help.”

In the years since his Grey’s Anatomy departure,he has starred as Thelonious Jaha on The CW’s The 100, until his character died in season five, followed by Starz’ critically acclaimed P-Valley.

Victoria Beckham had ‘really honest’ eating disorder chat with daughter Harper

by jummy84 October 12, 2025

12 October 2025

Victoria Beckham had a “really honest” conversation with her daughter about her eating disorder.

Victoria Beckham discussed her eating disorder with her daughter

The 51-year-old fashion designer spoke about her struggles for the first time in her new eponymous Netflix series but before the documentary aired, she was keen to address the topic with 14-year-old Harper.

She told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “We just had a really honest conversation, and I explained that when you have issues with food, it is all consuming.

“It is sad. It’s a very lonely place.

“I thought it was important that she heard it from me before she saw it at the theatre.”

Victoria hopes the teenager enjoys a “really healthy relationship” with food and admitted it is a subject they have discussed regularly because she knows it can be a big issue for young girls.

She said: “We’ve actually talked about food for quite some time, because the one thing that doesn’t seem to change is that little girls think a lot about food as they’re growing up, and when their bodies are changing and when they’re going through puberty.

“And my wish for Harper is that she has a really healthy relationship with food, and that she eats healthily. We all want to treat ourselves as well, but it’s about balance. Harper’s also very fit and plays a lot of sport, but we’ve talked about food before, because that is a conversation that’s flying around at school.”

The documentary highlights the scrutiny the former Spice Girls singer – who also has Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, and 20-year-old Cruz with husband David – has faced over her weight, including being weighed live on TV by Chris Evans on TFI Friday just two months after she’d given birth to her first child.

And while Victoria was “hurt” by the stunt, she admitted her kids were particularly appalled.

She said: “All of the kids were really, really shocked with what they saw in that documentary.

“It wouldn’t happen now. And the truth is, it really hurt. Words can really hurt people – I always say this to the children.

“Words are so powerful, and you really have to choose your words carefully. And I’ve never talked about this before.”

Victoria hopes speaking out about her struggles will help other people.

She said: “I never want to look like I’m complaining. I’ve always just taken it on the chin. I was always told to take the high ground and I think that’s something that we’ve always lived by.

“But now seemed like the right time. It’s a very different world now, and I think that lots of women can relate to what I was talking about. I was ashamed of it, you know. You become very good at hiding those things and lying.

“And I was nervous to talk about it. Of course I was, because people have been talking about my weight since I was really young, even before I was famous. “But I now have a young daughter, and I think that talking about things like this are really, really important.

“We’re so much more aware of mental health. And, you know, I hope people will listen to me.”

Glen Powell’s phone ‘keeps buzzing’ thanks to a group chat with his Top Gun: Maverick castmates

The actor, 36, starred in the 2022 sequel to the original Top Gun film, and has now said he and his co-stars’ bonds have endured well beyond filming as they continue to share updates and celebrate one another’s achievements by text.

He told People: “Sometimes I’ll get a little information every once in a while from the gang. The Top Gun chain is alive with congratulations to each other, about sort of movie openings or nominations, or whatever it is.”

Glen added: “Miles’ movie doing really well, Monica getting nominated for an Oscar. Everybody is getting to do all these really wonderful, cool things, so it’s a lot of congratulations.”

The star was referring to fellow cast members Miles Teller and Monica Barbaro, and also mentioned Lewis Pullman and Danny Ramirez.

Top Gun: Maverick follows Tom Cruise as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, returning to the ‘Top Gun’ Naval aviation program 30 years after his graduation.

His new students include Miles as Lt Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw, the son of his late best friend Goose, originally played by Anthony Edwards in the 1986 film.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the sequel was a critical and commercial hit.

It earned nominations at the Academy Awards, the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, and was named one of the top films of 2022 by the American Film Institute.

In January 2024, Variety confirmed a new sequel was in development.

Christopher McQuarrie, the writer-producer on Top Gun: Maverick, told the Happy Sad Confused podcast in May a third film in the franchise was in the works.

Despite the excitement, Glen said his group chat has not provided any insider knowledge on the upcoming project.

He told People: “I wish. I wish I had something. I literally have nothing.

“There’s been no new dialogue on that text chain. There was a lot of speculation about a movie there for a while, but no new intel.”

Glen is currently promoting his new Hulu comedy series Chad Powers, launched in partnership with Raising Cane’s.

The show will begin streaming on 30 September.

In another video, Kajol teased Yug as she joined her kidson the ground and had a conversation. Yug planted a kiss on his mother’s forehead and held her. He also gave a quick hug to Nysa. In another video, Kajol, Nysa, and Yug smiled and posed together for the camera.

For the festival, Kajol wore a red saree and matching blouse. Nysa was dressed in a yellow and white suit. Yug opted for a blue kurta and white pyjama. The Hindu festival of Durga Puja, also known as Durgotsava or Sharodotsava, is a yearly celebration that honours the Hindu goddess Durga and commemorates her victory over Mahishasur.

Kajol visited the pandal on Saturday too

On Saturday, Kajol started the Durga Puja festivities with her cousins, Rani Mukerji, Tanisha Mukerji, and Ayan Mukerji. They got teary-eyed as they remembered Ayan’s father, Deb Mukherjee, who died in March 2025. Deb Mukherjee used to organise the Durga Puja pandal annually.

In a clip, Kajol, Rani, and Tanisha were seen hugging each other, visibly emotional. Kajol also shared a heartfelt hug with Ayan before posing together for photographs.

About Kajol’s family, upcoming projects

Kajol started dating actor Ajay Devgn in 1994, and the two married in 1999. Nysa was born on April 20, 2003, and the couple welcomed Yug in 2010.

Kajol is currently busy with her talk show, Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle with Twinkle Khanna. The show premiered on September 25, and fresh episodes are released every Thursday. Kajol is set to star in The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha season 2 and the upcoming Prabhu Deva-starrer Maharagni: Queen of Queens.
