After over four years of probe, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has found that there is no evidence of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput having been illegally detained, intimidated, or incited to kill himself by Rhea Chakraborty or anyone else. The agency’s closure report, seen by Hindustan Times, also found no evidence of financial misappropriation or diversion of Sushant’s property by Rhea or her family.
The CBI noted that even Sushant had addressed Rhea as “family” when they were together, according to officials privy to the report. The report mentioned, “None of the accused persons had lived or stayed with him between June 8, 2020, and June 14, 2020—the day he was found hanging in his Bandra flat.” The report added further that though Sushant was in contact with Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty on WhatsApp on June 10, he did not have any contact with Rhea at that time. His sister Meetu Singh was with him from June 8 to June 12, two days prior to his passing.
The report rejects charges of wrongful confinement, coercion, or financial exploitation. The report also makes it clear that Rhea and Showik walked out of Sushant’s house on June 8 with just personal items—an Apple laptop and a watch presented by Sushant. The report categorically mentions, “No evidence has emerged of any property dishonestly taken out of Sushant’s possession.”
The CBI probe included two concurrent cases — one by Sushant’s father, K.K. Singh, in Patna against abetment and financial irregularities, and another filed by Rhea against Sushant’s sisters in Mumbai. The investigators concluded that Sushant’s affairs were taken care of by his chartered accountant and attorney, who had complete control of his accounts. The report further added that cost incurred for Rhea, including the 2019 European tour of the couple, was within rules and done willingly by Sushant.
But Sushant’s family has disputed the CBI findings, terming the report as incomplete and misleading. Their attorney, Advocate Varun Singh, remarked, “This is nothing but an eyewash. If CBI really wanted to come out with the truth, it would have submitted all supporting case documents including chats, technical records, statements, and medical reports.” He further said that the family will seek a protest petition against what they term as a “shoddy investigation.

The case, which had sparked nationwide outrage and political debates between Bihar and Maharashtra, will next be heard on December 20, when a Patna court reviews the CBI’s closure report. Despite the agency’s conclusion, Sushant’s family insists they will continue their fight for what they believe is long-overdue justice.
Aziz Ansari was among the comedians who recently traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform at the controversial Riyadh Comedy Festival, a decision that raised eyebrows and prompted questions from Jimmy Kimmel.
Ansari appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, October 6th, to promote his feature directorial debut, Good Fortune. Toward the end of the interview, Kimmel took the opportunity to ask Ansari about his choice to perform at the festival.
“People are questioning why you would go over there and take their money to perform in front of these people,” Kimmel commented. “This is something that’s become a big part of the news because people, a lot of comedians especially, are very upset because the people who paid the comedians to come to this are not good people. It’s a pretty brutal regime. They’ve done a lot of horrible, horrible things… I’m curious as to why you decided to do that.”
Ansari noted that “it’s something I put a lot of thought into” before deciding to accept the invitation.
“I have an aunt that lived there for a while, and I talked to her about this, and she said, you know, there’s people over there that don’t agree with the stuff that the government’s doing, and to ascribe like the worst behavior of the government onto those people, that’s not fair,” Ansari explained. “Just like there’s people in America that don’t agree with the things the government is doing, right?”

Kimmel continued to press Ansari, saying that while the American government is doing “horrible things,” he called out the Saudi government for extreme atrocities, saying, “They murdered a journalist,” in reference to the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi in 2018, adding that “these are not good people over there.”
“I was just there to do a show for the people, and I talked to my wife about this before I went, and she said, you know, whenever there’s repressive societies like this, they try to keep things out, whether it’s rock and roll music, or, blue jeans, because it makes people curious about outside ideas, outside values,” Ansari said. “And this is a very young country, like half the country is under the age of 25, and things can really change. And to me, a comedy festival felt like something that’s pushing things to be more open and to push a dialogue. You kind of have to make a choice of whether you’re going to isolate or engage.”
Later on in the interview, Ansari shared that after accepting the invitation to perform, he decided that part of his fee would go towards “causes that support free press and human rights,” specifying Reporters Without Borders and Human Rights Watch.
“It’s a complicated issue, but I felt like it was something that was pushing things in the right direction, I hope,” Ansari added. Watch the full interview below.
Bill Burr, who also appeared at the festival, used his podcast to defend the decision, calling it a “great” experience, and concluding that the people there are “just like us.”
Dave Chappelle declared that “it’s easier to talk here (in Saudi Arabia) than it is in America” during his set at the festival.
Lesbian comic Jessica Kirson apologized for performing at the event, while Louis C.K. has defended his decision to appear.
Other comedians who performed at the Riyadh Comedy Festival include Sebastian Maniscalco, Kevin Hart, Chris Tucker, Pete Davidson, and Whitney Cummings.
Freida Estelle Parton is asking fans of her sister, Dolly Parton, to pray for the country music legend’s recovery after the “Jolene” singer was forced to postpone a series of Las Vegas shows due to health issues.
“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,” wrote Freida in a Facebook post. “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”
“She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine,” continued Freida. “Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”
On Sunday, September 28, Dolly revealed in an Instagram post that she would be postponing her Las Vegas residency dates by nearly a year to focus on her health.
In the post, Parton wrote: “I want the fans to hear it directly from me, that unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”
She concluded the message with, “He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures will all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”
Dolly Parton’s recent health concerns and the cancellation of several appearances come after weeks of ongoing struggles. In September, the country legend had to cancel an in-person event at Dollywood during the grand opening of its newest attraction, the Night Flight Expedition ride. She later sent fans a video message explaining her health issues at the time.
“I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems, turned out it’d given me an infection,” said Parton in the pre-recorded message. “The doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better.’”

For those wondering why Finesse said he can’t call his mom, it looks like they’re still not on good terms. Back in August, fans had questions after his mother, Pluria Alexander was asking for donations. She claimed she needed a new place to live after Finesse stopped paying her bills due to them falling out and leaving her to cover all of her expenses. She said she had her own car, home, and job before moving from Memphis to Texas. However as of August she accused him of causing her eviction and being abusive. As of right now, Finesse hasn’t confirmed or denied any of her claims.
“This is the third time my son’s actions have left me homeless, and each time it becomes harder to recover. My landlord has given me just a few days to pay, and I expect an eviction filing this week. I’m doing everything I can to stay close to my family and maintain my health, but the stress is overwhelming. I struggle with anxiety and depression and the emotional toll of narcissistic abuse from my son has made things even harder,” Pluria wrote in her alleged GoFundMe’s description.

New details have emerged about former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy. The football player was previously arrested in January after being accused of causing a crash that killed 78-year-old Herman Hall. Lacy later tragically passed away in April after a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Now, his attorney is speaking out and sharing footage to prove Lacy didn’t cause the fatal accident that led to his arrest.
Lacy’s attorney Matt Ory spoke to HTV 10 News In Louisiana nearly a year after the fatal incident, per Sports Illustrated. Ory compared the district attorney’s findings with the original surveillance footage and argued that Lacy didn’t cause the crash. He said the data and video showed that “Kyren Lacy passed four cars.”
“At the time of impact he’s 72.6 yards behind the vehicles at the time of impact,” Matt Ory said. “Key word behind the vehicles. That is not how this story was ever painted.
As TSR previously reported, police issued a warrant for Kyren Lacy in January, according to ESPN. They accused the 2025 NFL draft pick of fleeing the scene without helping following a head-on collision in Thibodaux, Louisiana that killed Herman Hall. On December 17, Lacy reportedly drove a 2023 Dodge Charger at high speed on a Louisiana highway. ESPN noted that a 2017 Kia Cadenza trailed a pickup truck and swerved to avoid Lacy, who crossed the centerline and collided with a southbound vehicle. Hall later died from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities also claimed Lacy allegedly drove away without reporting the crash. At the time, police charged him with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless driving.
Three months after facing allegations tied to the car crash, Kyren Lacy passed away in April. The 24-year-old NFL draft pick was found deceased in Houston on April 13. TMZ reported that he died from a self-inflicted firearm wound following a police chase. Authorities said a woman told 911 that Lacy got into a verbal argument with her and fired a gun into the ground before leaving the scene. Police tried to pull him over, but Lacy reportedly drove off, prompting a pursuit that ended when he crashed his vehicle. Officers later found him inside the car with a gunshot wound and discovered a firearm nearby.

Dolly Parton has postponed her first Las Vegas residency in 32 years due to “health challenges.”
The country music icon, 79, announced the news in a post on Instagram on Sept. 28, telling fans that she wanted them “to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts.”
“As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!” she wrote.
“In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” the 9 to 5 singer explained.
Parton said that she will still be able to work on all of her projects from Nashville but she needs “a little time to get show ready, as they say.”
She assured fans to not “worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”
“But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you,” she added. “I love you and thank you for understanding.”
Parton was scheduled to perform six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas” between Dec. 4 and Dec. 13, overlapping with the National Finals Rodeo. Her dates have been moved to late next year — September 2026.
Tickets are valid for the new dates and refunds will be available, Parton’s statement added.

Earlier this month, Parton was unable to attend the announcement of a new ride at her Tennessee theme park Dollywood due to health issues.
“I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems, turned out it’d given me an infection and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be travelling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better,’” Parton said in a video announcement at the time.
“So, he suggested I not go to Dollywood today, but I’m there with you in spirit. I was looking so forward to it,” she added.
In March, Parton announced that Carl Thomas Dean, her husband of nearly 60 years, had died.
“Carl Dean, husband of Dolly Parton, passed away March 3rd in Nashville at the age of 82. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending. He was survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie,” a statement on her Instagram page read.
A quote from Parton was also included. It read, “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”
“The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time,” the post added.
Parton also released her new single If You Hadn’t Been There the same month, in honour of her longtime husband.
“I fell in love with Carl Dean when I was 18 years old. We have spent 60 precious and meaningful years together,” Parton wrote.
“Like all great love stories, they never end. They live on in memory and song. He will always be the star of my life story, and I dedicate this song to him.”
