Sabrina Carpenter Nailed the Art of Showgirl Style on SNL

As the show progressed, Carpenter’s promo photos—because every host gets a full-on SNL photo shoot—continued her high-fashion takeover. She sported pieces such as a vintage Dolce & Gabbana rose coat, a vintage Emanuel Ungaro black and white polka dot frock from spring 2003, and even a shimmering blue Dior lace dress from the recent spring 2026 collection. In a promo clip with SNL co-star Marcello Hernandez, the singer also donned a vintage canine-themed Vivienne Westwood dress from fall 1992—a tie-in to her album name, Man’s Best Friend, obviously.

Across several sketches, she also wore a pink check Love Shack Fancy twin set, a turtleneck mini-dress from Theory, and a sparkling Princess Polly halter mini-dress.

The epic leading lady wardrobe concluded with her two musical performances of the night. For her live rendition of “Nobody’s Son,” Carpenter sported a crystal-covered black and white karate robe, while her backup dancers performed choreographed fights. She was not barefoot, though: For a glamorous pop star touch, she accessorized with a staggering pair of Christian Louboutin platforms. To perform “Manchild,” Carpenter then rocked a “Live From New York” baby tee, while the back of her pink briefs read, “It’s Saturday Night!”—a cheeky homage to the famous SNL tagline. Her SNL looks had all the makings of greatness: Campy, fun, yet chic!

‘SNL’ Domingo Skit Returns While Sabrina Carpenter Hosts

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Sabrina Carpenter‘s Saturday Night Live hosting debut kicked off with a fun callback to none other than the viral Domingo skit — with a modern pop twist.

The “Manchild” singer returned to the late night show on Saturday, where she doubled up as the night’s host and musical guest. The cold open kicked off with another homecoming of Chloe Fineman‘s Kelsey character and her group of best friends, including Carpenter.

True to the original skit, Kelsey’s girl squad recounted their Nashville night out in front of her husband Matt (Andrew Dismukes) in full song form, set to the tune of some of the most popular modern tracks. They recalled their festivities by singing along to the backtrack of Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” and Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” before Marcello Hernández‘s beloved Domingo character made his grand entrance (and return) to profess his love to Fineman’s Kelsey, set to Alex Warren’s track “Ordinary.”

The original Domingo skit instantly went viral, originally featuring Carpenter’s “Espresso” as Kelsey’s bridesmaids confessed that she had cheated on her husband-to-be with Domingo. The Grammy winner wasn’t actually featured in the original bit, though fellow pop star Ariana Grande was. (Carpenter did star in the SNL 50 Domingo sequel, though.)

Later in Carpenter’s opening monologue, she lightly addressed the controversy surrounding the cover art for her latest album, Man’s Best Friend. Pointing back to her last appearance on the show during SNL 50, she noted that “since then, my new album Man’s Best Friend came out, which I’m so excited about. But some people got a little freaked out by the cover.”

“I’m not sure why. It was just this: me on all fours with an unseen figure pulling my hair. But what people don’t realize is, that’s just how they cropped it. If you zoom out, it’s clearly a picture from the 50th anniversary special of Bowen helping me up by the hair,” she said, as the shot of the album cover zoomed out, continuing, “After Martin Short shoved me out of the buffet line.”

The “Bed Chem” singer used the rest of her monologue to “clear up some misconceptions people have about me,” joking that “everyone thinks of me as this horndog pop star, but there’s really so much more to me.”

“I’m not just horny, I’m also turned on, and I’m sexually charged. And I love to read. My favorite book is the encyclopedia. It’s so big and it’s hard…” she said, before continuing, “There is a real person underneath all the sparkles and the wigs and the corsets, and another thing you might not know about me is that I love to interact with the audience during my show, so I’d like to do that right now.”

She went on to touch base with a few audience members before returning to the stage, where she continued another one of her concert traditions: “The last fun thing I like to do at my concerts is arrest someone for being hot. So, who here can I arrest tonight?”

Kenan Thompson then hit the stage, where he joked that he was arresting the singer “for falsely impersonating an officer 200 times at your concerts. And you’re arresting innocent hot people.”

Saturday night marked Carpenter’s first SNL hosting gig, while it was the second time she served as the night’s musical guest. She, too, notably performed a rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Homeward Bound” alongside Paul Simon at the 50th anniversary special.

Ahead of the show, Bowen Yang took to his Instagram Stories to note that he was missing the taping. The Wicked star skipped episode three to attend the 2025 Academy Museum Gala, where he was honored with the Vantage Award.

The “Espresso” singer served as the third overall host of season 51, following in the footsteps of Bad Bunny and Amy Poehler. Earlier this week, the next wave of SNL guests were announced. Miles Teller will host on Nov. 1, while Nikki Glaser and Glen Powell are set to make their hosting debuts on the Nov. 8 and Nov. 15 shows, respectively.

Last Saturday’s show was full of star-studded cameos, as former cast member Poehler brought back fellow SNL alumni Tina Fey and Seth Meyers throughout the episode. Fey also made a cameo to impersonate Kristi Noem in the cold open, while Poehler portrayed Pam Bondi.

Sabrina Carpenter Performs ‘Manchild,’ ‘Nobody’s Son’

by jummy84 October 19, 2025

The pop star plays the lead single and another track from her latest album, Man’s Best Friend

Two-time Saturday Night Live musical guest Sabrina Carpenter—also the host of Saturday’s show—performed two tracks from her seventh and latest album, Man’s Best Friend.

Carpenter opened with the lead single “Manchild,” which she co-wrote with Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen. The pop star, who graced Rolling Stone‘s July-August cover, quipped to us when asked if it’s about anyone in particular: “It’s about your dad.”

Carpenter’s second song was “Nobody’s Son.” The reggae-pop tune—sixth on the track list—was co-written by Carpenter, Allen and John Ryan.

About Man’s Best Friend, which hit the top spot on the US Billboard 200 shortly after its late August release, Rolling Stone‘s Brittany Spanos wrote in a positive review: “Her new songs are united in their grooviness as Carpenter’s heartbreak and disappointment in her male options takes her on a thoroughly modern tour of what dating, embracing, and then flipping the script on the humiliation ritual that is being a woman who dates men.”

Trending Stories

Carpenter debuted on SNL in May 2024. During the season 49 finale, she performed her hit single “Espresso,” which she would later include on her album Short n’ Sweet, as well as a medley of two songs from 2022’s Emails I Can’t Send. The singer-actress was last in Studio 8H in February during the 50th anniversary special, joining Paul Simon for a rendition of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Homeward Bound.”

Carpenter will be back in New York next week as she hits the home stretch of her Short n’ Sweet tour. After that, she’ll be in Nashville, Toronto, and then Los Angeles.

Sabrina Carpenter Performs “Manchild” in Campy SNL Bedroom Set

Pulling double duty as host and musical guest on this week’s Saturday Night Live, Sabrina Carpenter staged a pair of instantly iconic performances in support of her latest album, Man’s Best Friend.

Carpenter first performed “Manchild” on a bedroom-themed set, dressed in SNL-branded pajamas, and singing into a hairbrush like a microphone. Leaning into the song’s tongue-in-cheek spirit — a playful takedown of a man who looks grown but still acts like a boy — she fully embraced the camp, turning the stage into a sleepover fantasy complete with exaggerated choreography, dramatic camera winks, and tongue-in-cheek theatrics that brought the track’s biting humor and empowering message to life. There was even an homage to the Cameron Diaz’s mirror dance scene in Charlie’s Angels.

Later in the episode, she delivered the live debut of “Nobody’s Son,” complete with choreography inspired by a karate dojo.

Elsewhere during her hosted episode of SNL, she reprised her role in Kelsey’s crew for a new Domino sketch, starred in a horror-themed movie trailer about a couple who suddenly found themselves with plans, interviewed Donald Trump as a host of the Snack Homies podcast, hocked a provocativew neck pillow on QVC, and was Bowen Yang’s date for a school dance. Check out the highlights below.

With just hours to go until Sabrina Carpenter takes over SNL, the singer reminded fans to tune with an Instagram post full of backstage snapshots.

“TONIGHT,” Carpenter captioned her photo post, tagging @nbcsnl and topping it off with a red lips emoji.

The pics give viewers a glimpse at her dressing room and outfit options. There’s also a peek at what looks to be a table read or writing session, and at the actual cue card that was used filming this week’s promo spot — all at SNL‘s 30 Rock headquarters in New York City.

Saturday night (Oct. 18) marks Carpenter’s first time hosting SNL, and her return as musical guest. The “Manchild” hitmaker performed during a May 2024 episode and was featured on February 2025’s SNL50 special, for which she sang a duet with Paul Simon and co-starred in one of Marcello Hernandez’s “Domingo” sketches. (She’d already had a run-in with Domingo at one of her concerts on the Short n’ Sweet Tour, during her “Juno” bit; he was the crowd member arrested for being too hot at a Los Angeles stop.)

‘Saturday Night Live’ Releases Promos for Sabrina Carpenter Episode

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Is “Sabrina and the City” the latest Sex and the City spinoff? Not quite. But it is the premise for Saturday Night Live’s first teaser for pop star Sabrina Carpenter’s upcoming episode.

The Man’s Best Friend singer, who previously appeared on the show as a musical guest, is taking on double-duty this Saturday (Oct. 18) as SNL’s host and musical guest.

In a promotional video titled, “And Just Like That…Sabrina Carpenter Is Hosting SNL,” Carpenter turns into her own version of Carrie Bradshaw. “New York is one big apple, and I’m taking my bite at Saturday Night Live,” the singer says in a classic Sex and the City voiceover to kick off the video.

Carpenter encounters several SNL castmembers, ignoring their normal questions and answering in lines that sound like they’ve been pulled from the HBO show. “Thank God, it’s Mr. Big,” she yells at one point, referencing Carrie’s longtime Sex and the City love interest, before running over to Marcello Hernández. “Oh, hey, it’s actually Marcello but I’ll take it,” he answers.

Hernández and Carpenter are certainly not strangers. On top of doing the week’s second promotional video together, Hernández gained immense popularity for a character he played on the show named Domingo, who was featured in a wedding-themed parody skit set to Carpenter’s song “Espresso.” She even joined in for a follow-up sketch earlier this year, set to a song from Wicked, a nod to fellow pop star Ariana Grande, who was in the first sketch.

In the second video released ahead of the episode, Carpenter jokes that she might need to arrest someone for being too hot — a nod to her song “Juno,” where she picks an audience member to “arrest” for that reason. Carpenter even arrested Hernández, reprising his Domingo character, at an L.A. show last year. In the promo, Hernández holds his hands out, ready to be arrested, before Carpenter picks the show’s cameraman.

Carpenter follows Bad Bunny and SNL alum Amy Poehler as hosts of season 51. Miles Teller, Nikki Glaser and Glen Powell were just announced as the show’s upcoming hosts; however, the full lineup of hosts and musical guests for this season hasn’t been revealed.

Are Sabrina Carpenter and Joe Keery Dating? A Timeline of the Internet Rumors

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

However, what started as a viral internet moment became fodder for the celebrity rumor mill when Carpenter was seen attending Djo’s set during the second ACL weekend, with one anonymous source telling DeuxMoi that the Girl Meets World star passed them on her way backstage.

So, are Joe Keery and Sabrina Carpenter dating? That remains to be seen, but here’s a timeline of events, with the most recent updates up top.

October 10, 2025: Carpenter is seen attending Djo’s performance ACL Live, per video shared by DeuxMoi. An anonymous source tells the gossip page, Sabrina Carpenter literally just walked right by me at Djo’s ACL night show. Did not make a stage appearance so she was there to see him.”

Many fans took this update as a sign that the pair might actually start dating, with one fan commenting, “She said ‘I want that one!’ And then made it happen.” Of course, others were quick to point out that “people can be friends or just support other artists.”

October 9, 2025: In an Instagram roundup, musician Javier Reyes includes a photo of Keery taking a snap of Carpenter’s fuzzy handcuffs.

October 4, 2025: Carpenter “arrests” Keery during her headlining set at Austin City Limits. “Joe it’s actually cuffing season, I don’t know if you know that,” she says in the viral video—to which he responds by immediately holding out both arms.

Two singers teamed up for “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” which Carpenter previously covered during her Short n’ Sweet Tour

Sabrina Carpenter delivered “a little gift” to fans Saturday during her headlining performance at the Austin City Limits as the singer welcomed Shania Twain to the stage for a duet of “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”

“I show love in weird ways. One of the ways I show my love is by gift-giving. That’s one of my languages, and I thought it’d be fun to give you guys a little gift tonight,” Carpenter told the crowd. “Give you a little present because you all showed up and showed out for all of us. Awesome. Will you please make the most noise in the world for the incredible, one and only Shania Twain?”

The Man’s Best Friend singer and country hitmaker then launched into the 1998 single, which was one of the covers that Carpenter performed during her previous Short n’ Sweet Tour. “Awesome. Shania Twain! Make some fucking noise,” Carpenter said after the performance.

The two singers previously paired up back in December 2024 when they performed an acoustic rendition of “Santa Baby” together in Carpenter’s A Nonsense Christmas Netflix special; Twain played the role of Mrs. Claus on the special.

Carpenter will return to Austin’s Zilker Park next Saturday for her second of two headlining shows at the two-weekend Austin City Limits Festival. Before that, the singer will make her Grand Ole Opry debut on October 7.

Sabrina Carpenter Loves Kevin Bacon’s Cover of Her Song

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Sabrina Carpenter might be singing “When Did You Get Hot?” to a random ex — but Kevin Bacon? He’s dedicating it to the pigs on his farm. The actor shared a guitar-backed reimagining of the Man’s Best Friend favorite from his farm, and Carpenter absolutely loved it.

“We’re big fans of @sabrinacarpenter here on the farm!” Bacnon accepted his post.

Wearing an Iron Maiden shirt, Bacon plays the song, adding a little personalized twist to Carpenter’s original lyrics: “Now I’m at the prospect convention / My friend looks in your friend’s direction / Said, ‘I’m Bacon, you must be Kevin,’ / And I was like, ‘Huh.’”

Bacon then continues into the chorus, looking back at his roaming pigs and horses in the background: “I did a double take, triple take / Take me to pigs in the blanket, back in the farm. / Piggy, piggy, you’re thickening the plot. When did you get hot?”

Carpenter shared the video of Bacon on her Instagram Story, writing, “least expected but best cover of the year award!!” She also left a comment under his video, writing, “The vibes on the farm are immaculate.”

Bacon previously spoke to Rolling Stone about his love for Carpenter and her album Man’s Best Friend. At the time, he said he was particularly enjoying “Never Getting Laid.”

Trending Stories

“Just today, I was walking around Manhattan, listening to the new Sabrina Carpenter album,” he said at the time. “I think that she’s such a talent and, I mean, so many clever songs and clever lyrics.”

The cover may be unexpected, but the Carpenter-Bacon love runs deep. The pop star actually references Bacon’s “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” game in her song “Taste,” from Short n’ Sweet.  “Well, she clearly has taste. See what I did?” Bacon previously reacted to the shoutout in a shared FaceTime call with his daughter Sosie.
