Skrillex, Dylan Brady & Caroline Polachek Share New Song “hit me where it hurts”

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

On April Fool’s Day, Skrillex surprise-released his album Fuck U Skrillex You Think Ur Andy Warhol But Ur Not!! , which recently earned him Grammy nominations for Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance/Electronic Recording (for “Voltage”). He dropped a new single called “Fuze” with ISOxo last month, and today he’s got another new one. Enticingly, the hyperactive and high-octane “hit me where it hurts” pairs our boy Sonny with longtime collaborator Dylan Brady (also of 100 Gecs fame) and none other than Caroline Polachek, whose vocals from Pang track “Hit Me Where It Hurts” are threaded throughout. Listen below.

Caroline Flack revealed to have had plans to work on a documentary of her own

by jummy84 November 10, 2025

A new Disney+ original documentary, Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth, aims to correct the narrative about the late TV presenter, amid an investigation from her mother Christine, who sets out to find the truth about her daughter’s final days.

In fact, this documentary is part of a story that Caroline wanted the public to hear and had initiated plans to work on in the days before her death and after her arrest.

The former Love Island host took her own life in 2020, aged 40, weeks before she was due to face trial on assault charges, to which she pleaded not guilty.

The alleged victim, her boyfriend Lewis Burton, did not support prosecution.

The coverage of the presenter’s departure from Love Island and her legal issues were widely criticised following her death.

In the two-parter, now available to watch on Disney+, voice notes from the late star are featured throughout, and in one particular recording, she can be heard telling one of her friends she was thinking about making a documentary about her ordeal: “I had an idea like, sorry, I know you’re in a shower, I think I should make a documentary about all of this. What do you think?”

Flack’s friend Mollie opened up about the days leading up to Flack’s death, saying she felt as though the TV presenter was “getting stronger”.

“I could tell that she was getting stronger because she was talking about doing a documentary,” she explained. “She was saying, ‘I just really want to get out, like, what’s happened and my side of everything.’ And so it felt like she was turning a corner and, you know, we felt that actually the case was going to be dropped.”

Dov Freedman, the CEO and founder of Curious Films, the production company behind the documentary, shared that Caroline was “adamant about wanting to set the record straight and combat the lies that were being told about her”.

He shared that he, along with his business partner Charlie Russell, had met with Caroline and her agents “to see if we all got on and what the doc could look like”.

“Caroline spoke candidly about why she wanted to make a film and the real story she wanted the world to know, and also how hard it was watching the stories spread knowing they weren’t accurate,” he said.

He continued: “She also spoke very lovingly about her family, especially her mum, Chris [Christine], and suggested we start filming a few days later in Norfolk. The meeting went well, and we were green lit a few hours later, suddenly, that doc never happened, as the devastating news of Caroline’s death hit the world just a few days later.

“We didn’t know if Christine knew that Caroline was about to embark on a project with us, but we just felt compelled to write to her and send our condolences so we couldn’t imagine the pain her and the family must be going through.”

Christine agreed to take part in this new documentary as she felt like she needed a bigger platform to find the answers she was looking for.

“[This is] the story that Caroline wanted to make when we met her over five years ago and says everything that she wanted to say.”

Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth airs on Monday 10th November on Disney+. You can sign up to Disney+ from £5.99 a month now.

Caroline Flack was considering new life in Ibiza

27 October 2025

Caroline Flack was considering starting a new life in Ibiza before she died.

Caroline Flack wanted to start a new life in Ibiza

The former Love Island presenter took her own life in February 2020, months after being charged with assaulting her then-boyfriend Lewis Burton and though she had been very low after her arrest, her mum Christine Flack was pleased to see some bright spots around Christmas time.

Christine told The Guardian newspaper: “We spoke every day and if she didn’t see me, she saw [her twin] Jody.

“She had good friends that she trusted. On Christmas Day, she came home and she wanted to play games and do things, it was just lovely.

“At one point, she said, ‘I think I’m just going to live in Ibiza’ which is a place she loved.

“I wish she had! One day she’d feel as if she could cope, then the next, something else would happen.

“There is always a way forward. I want everyone to know that.”

Christine recalled feeling “pleased” when the COVID-19 lockdown was imposed just weeks after her daughter’s death.

She said: “Covid came a month later and I do remember that I was pleased for lockdown.

“You lose someone, the whole world keeps going and you see all the things that Caroline should be doing. I loved lockdown because everything stopped.”

Christine always slept with her phone next to her because she feared a call from Caroline, having grown up with her experiencing frequent “highs and lows”.

She said: “It would ring and you’d know in a second whether it was going to be something fun, a ‘Mum! Guess what?’, or if you needed to get in your car and go to her….

“As a little girl, she really had highs and lows. She’d either be really laughing or really crying. I had to collect her from school a few times when they couldn’t stop the crying – but that was her and that continued.”

Despite her success, the former X Factor host suffered dark moments, which she kept private, including stints in hospital, and doctors suggested she could have bipolar disorder, though a formal diagnosis was never given.

Christine said: “Her work was her main coping mechanism.

“She was really ashamed. She didn’t want to be known for that.”

Although Christine questions how things could have been different when she’s feeling “low”, she tries to focus on the good times with her daughter.

She said: “At home, I’ve got so much of her stuff but it’s not depressing.

“I’ve got her glitterball from Strictly on a shelf, her awards, her front pages and covers. Jody has a room full of Caroline’s things, her scripts, her shows. Someone gave us a beautiful portrait they’d painted of Caroline in a shoot she’d done with syrup running down her head.

“My memories now are usually fun, because that’s what Caroline was like in our life. When she walked into a room, she could change everything, she could lift the day.”

Caroline Polachek Joins Danny L Harle on New Song “Azimuth”: Listen

by jummy84 October 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Danny L Harle has enlisted his longtime studio-mate and co-writer Caroline Polachek for the new song “Azimuth.” Take a listen below, via XL. Harle has also announced a European tour—scroll down for the dates.

Harle says of the new song, “‘Azimuth’ felt like the finalisation of an approach that Caroline and I had been orbiting for some time as a way of putting her voice into my music—I sometimes call it the ‘trance siren.’ You can hear manifestations of it in tracks like ‘Insomnia’ from Pang and ‘On the Beach’ from Death Stranding 2, but this was the first time I managed to translate it into my style of dance music. Azimuth’s melody could only have been sung by Caroline, it is designed around her voice, I couldn’t imagine anyone else singing it or giving a performance like that. It also allowed us to play with scale, space and quietness in a way I’ve never done before. For me, ‘Azimuth’ is a trance ballad, despairing but hopeful, best heard in a in club in a sunken cathedral.”

“Azimuth” is Harle’s follow-up to the PinkPantheress collaboration “Starlight,” released in July. That was his first solo release since his formal solo debut LP, 2021’s Harlecore. Polachek shared her own first post–Desire, I Want to Turn Into You single, “Dang,” in October last year. Since then, she has released “Starburned and Unkissed,” from the I Saw the TV Glow soundtrack, and made an unexpected appearance on the post-rock band Caroline’s album Caroline 2. More recently, she released “On the Beach”—the title track of the video game Death Stranding 2—which was co-produced with Harle and co-written by Death Stranding mastermind Hideo Kojima.

Charli XCX and George Daniel had their big wedding celebration last weekend following a low-key ceremony in July, and both Caroline Polachek and Yung Lean sang at the bash. Check out the footage below.

The singer, real name Charlotte Aitchison, and The 1975 drummer Daniel celebrated in the Sicilian village of Scopello complete with numerous friends from the worlds of music and celebrity.

Polachek, a frequent collaborator of Charli, sang Daniel Johnston’s 1984 song ‘True Love Will Find You In The End’ as the couple walked down the aisle.

Swedish rapper Yung Lean, real name Jonatan Leandoer Håstad, sang The Stooges’ 1969 proto-punk classic ‘I Wanna Be A Dog’ with a live band, too. Daniel’s 1975 bandmate Matty Healy and his fiancée Gabbriette, both absent from the July ceremony, joined Håsted onstage after the former crowdsurfed for a while, too.

Healy himself performed with his dad, actor Tim, as they sang ‘Perfect Day’ by Lou Reed, one of Charli’s idols. He played a DJ set, too, which included Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’, while his mum, actress and TV personality Denise Welch, was invited too and shared a montage of footage from the celebrations on Instagram.

Among the other musicians there were PC Music founder A. G. Cook and producer Easyfun, who played a remix of Charli’s hyperpop classic ‘Vroom Vroom’, singers Beabadoobee, Robyn, Clairo and Troye Sivan, and actress Julia Fox.

Charli has shared a range of photos from the ceremony on Instagram too, the most recent selection being fronted by one of her and Daniel kissing.

The couple first worked together in 2021, when they recorded the track ‘Spinning’. A year later, they confirmed their romance on social media, and in November 2023, they got engaged.

In a TikTok post, Charli shared that her song ‘Talk Talk’, from her 2024 album ‘Brat’, was written about an incident involving Daniel at the 2020 NME Awards, in which she almost followed him to the bathroom but decided against it when halfway there.

That night, Charli was nominated for Best Solo Act In The World, Best British Solo Act and Best Collaboration. She also presented the Songwriter Of The Decade Award to Robyn alongside Christine And The Queens.

Daniel was also present, with The 1975 being awarded the Band Of The Decade Award, as well as Best British Band and the NME Innovation Award.

‘The Crown’ Producer Andy Harries, Jeff Pope Plan Caroline Aherne Film

by jummy84 September 22, 2025

EXCLUSIVE: Caroline Aherne, the beloved British comedy star behind The Royle Family and The Mrs Merton Show, is to be the subject of a feature film.

Andy Harries, producer of The Crown and Left Bank Pictures‘ executive chairman, is collaborating with Oscar-nominated Philomena writer Jeff Pope on the project, which remains in its infancy.

Harries told Deadline that Pope has written a script that chronicles Aherne’s “peak creative years,” from her stand-up work in the early nineties to writing and starring in The Royle Family, the iconic comedy series about a TV-obsessed Manchester family.

Harries had front-row seats to Aherne’s talents, having executive-produced The Royle Family and Mrs Merton for the BBC. Pope also worked closely with Aherne on The Fattest Man in Britain, starring Timothy Spall, and comedy The Security Men.

Harries is on the hunt for a director for the picture, while a cast has yet to be attached. He said the script is “sad, funny, and very emotional.” As for the role of Aherne, “it’s a really challenging part for an actress in her early to mid-30s,” Harries added.

Craig Cash, the co-creator of The Royle Family, is involved as a consultant and executive producer. Cash is best known nowadays as the narrator of Gogglebox, a job he inherited from Aherne after she died from cancer in 2016. She was just 52.

Pope said: “I loved Caroline and I still think about her, or some funny line she came up with, almost every day. She was a true original, a working-class woman from Manchester who broke all the rules — every single one of them. I want more people to understand what a genius she was, and what drove her.”

Pope spoke movingly about her death in 2016, telling The Guardian that she “suffered appallingly” with depression, but that her interest in people was a hallmark of her writing. Aherne won four BAFTA Awards during her career, while her other work included appearing as a regular on sketch series The Fast Show.
