How Rachel Sennott, Ayo Edebri Hatched That Wild ‘I Love L.A.’ Cameo

by jummy84 November 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Into every generation, an HBO comedy about the pains of adulthood is born. Sex and the City, Girls, Entourage, How to Make It in America, Insecure … they’re all different, but they share a common DNA. And Gen Z may have found their answer in I Love LA. Created by and starring Rachel Sennott, the series began at the top of November and follows a group of 20-somethings navigating their careers and social lives in one of America’s most challenging metropolises. Sennott, who portrays ambitious transplant Maia, recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter‘s new podcast I’m Having an Episode to explain what she’s trying to say with the series — and how she got pal Ayo Edebiri to co-create an absolutely bonkers bit part.

We’re speaking just before the premiere, so I’d be remiss if I didn’t ask about your mental state.

Unwell. Not OK. I’m crushing my second Celsius of the day. The first was at 7 a.m. I definitely feel vulnerable because this is the longest I’ve ever worked on one thing. I co-wrote Bottoms with my friend Emma Seligman, and that was vulnerable too. This is pretty personal to me, and it’s the first time I directed. I’m definitely scared, but I’m also really proud of it. I just need to release control and trust the universe or whoever and hope that it finds the right people.

Ayo Edebiri makes a guest appearance as delusional British pop star Mimi Rush in the second episode of the comedy series.

Wearing as many hats as you do on this show — writing, acting, editing, directing — where did you find yourself most comfortable?

I always felt like I was cheating on one job with another, which was kind of nice. You’re in the writers room, and you’re really liking it, and then you get sick of that, and all of a sudden you’re scouting locations and get energy from that. Then, boom, you’re an actress. The change is nice. A new love for me that I haven’t experienced before is directing. By the end, I felt like I had just given birth, so the edit was a cocoon for me.

How did you land on how you wanted to incorporate phones and social media on the show? A major criticism of film and TV is that they never know how to navigate that correctly, but your show is about the influencer economy.

It was a huge thing for me because I got my first phone in middle school. I wasn’t an iPad baby, but I would say I grew up on the internet. It’s just always been a huge part of my life. And a lot of times when it’s depicted in movies and TV, it feels a little clunky. For us, it feels seamless. I don’t even think about it. It was important for me to try to depict the internet in that way. And then also create our own internet for the show that moves and breathes the same way the real internet does. Tallulah [Odessa A’zion] is on her phone all the time, and you don’t question for one second that she’s an internet girl, but you don’t need to see her make 10 TikToks to get it.

Odessa A’zion portrays Tallulah Stiel, a popular influencer and college friend of Sennott’s character, in I Love LA.

In the past couple of years, you also co-created Dan Levy’s upcoming Netflix series. You co-wrote the upcoming Heidi Fleiss biopic. You were also set to star in both but had to drop out to focus on this show. Does it feel weird to be turning down opportunities because you have this full-time job now?

It’s definitely a learning curve. I’m someone who’s like, “I’ll make it work.” I will not sleep and I’ll do this and whatever to try to make everything work. But at a certain point, I think you don’t want to do everything if you can’t do a good job at everything. It’s always hard not being able to do other things, especially with such amazing creators and talented people that I’ve looked up to for such a long time, but I’ve had to shift my mindset.

Your friend and frequent collaborator Ayo Edebiri guest stars in the second episode as a fantastically unhinged pop star. And British. Did you bring that to her fully baked or did you guys all find that together?

We found that together. She is a comedic genius. We definitely had the bones of a character, an unhinged diva. I pitched her the idea the morning after the Met Gala. I was like, “Hey, can I send you this?” She Zooms me from her hotel room. It’s like pitch black. She’s like, “Speak to me! What’s the idea?” Then we started jamming on it. Afterward, [writer-producers] Emma Barrie and Max Silvestri talked to her, and we were like, “Do you want to come to the writers room? We need you!”

Prince William makes surprise cameo on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ – National

by jummy84 November 12, 2025

Prince William made a surprise appearance on Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday night to show his support for contestant Robert Irwin.

The Prince of Wales, 43, popped in unexpectedly during the 20th anniversary episode of the competition dance show to share a few words of encouragement with Irwin, an Earthshot Prize ambassador for William’s environmental initiative, which aims to find innovative solutions to repair and protect the planet.

Irwin, 21, told his dancing partner Witney Carson that he was supposed to be in Brazil for the Earthshot Prize awards in Rio de Janeiro on Nov. 5 but he had to tell William, “Sorry, I can’t make it. I’m still here.”

“We’re missing you, Robert,” William said in a video message. “Whilst your twinkle toes are going off elsewhere, I need you down here.”

William told Carson that she needs to “get him in as much glitter as you can.”

“Guys, you’ve got a seriously good chance of winning it,” William said during the FaceTime call. “So, just the best of luck on the show.”

“I can’t believe he just said my name,” Carson said.

Irwin went on to say that he was dedicating his foxtrot to Leona Lewis’s Footprints in the Sand to his sister, Bindi, 27.

“We are doing this dance for Bindi, and we are doing this dance for Prince William, so let’s not mess this up,” he said.

Bindi had danced to the same song during her time on Season 21 of DWTS, which she won alongside professional dancer Derek Hough.

“A part of me healed that day. So now I hope that Robert gets that same experience,” Bindi said.

At the end of the number, Bindi joined her brother and Carson on stage and they wrapped their arms around each other’s shoulders before kneeling as scenes of their childhood with their late father, Steve Irwin, were projected onto the ballroom floor.

Irwin and Carson celebrated after receiving their perfect score of 40 for their dance to the song, honouring his late father.

Irwin shared the dance on Instagram, with the caption, “Tonight was healing. This dance was emotional, beautiful and so deeply meaningful. I carry Dad’s legacy with me in everything I do, and it was a privilege to dedicate our foxtrot to him.”

“Thank you @bindisueirwin for inspiring us with your freestyle to this song, and thank you @witneycarson for once again choreographing such a beautiful story through dance and for creating a space for me to convey raw emotions that I’ve never gotten to share before,” he continued.

“I’m a proud Wildlife Warrior, and I’ll always carry on my dad’s mission. I’m so grateful that I can do that in the ballroom.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Make a Royal Cameo at Kris Jenner’s 70th Birthday

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Seeing all of the megawatt celebrities arrive to the party was as much of a spectacle as, say, the Oscars or Golden Globes—especially given each attendee brought a formal ensemble for the night. Though, they all embraced black tie differently. Oprah Winfrey went sleek in her leather top and trousers—Sarah Paulson and Naomi Watts (two All’s Fair co-stars) went classic and glamorous in their floor-length dresses. Mariah Carey—the queen of glamour—wore an embellished slip dress, as did Paris Hilton in her beaded sky-blue number.

What did the birthday girl, Kris Jenner, wear you may be asking? We wouldn’t know: The business mogul arrived to the party via some sort of private entry, so her birthday outfit was not seen. But given her penchant for an elegant black power suit (her signature), you just know that whatever she wore to dance the night away was good. Maybe she wore one of the 65 custom designer looks that Kim bought her for her 65th birthday.

Below, more guests spotted at Jenner’s 70th birthday.

bitchy | Duchess Meghan filmed a ‘small cameo role’ in a movie in LA this week

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Late Tuesday and early Wednesday, Page Six published a trilogy of stories about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, all of them sourced and promoted from Kensington Palace. Prince William is not slick in the least, and the tabloid stories were part of William’s emotional-support smearing! In one of the stories, a “Hollywood source” swore up and down that people in LA absolutely hate Harry and Meghan, and that no one wants to work with them. Not even 24 hours later, the Sun and the LA trade papers got the tip that Meghan was actually at a studio, filming a small role in a movie with Brie Larson and Lily Collins. Hahahaha. From the Sun, an outlet which put this story on their cover (hahaha).

Stars will welcome back the Duchess of Sussex as she shoots a Hollywood movie. Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid — son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid — and Brit Henry Golding are among those filming Close Personal Friends.

Meghan, who announced her retirement from acting eight years ago, is on set today in Pasadena, LA, playing herself in the Amazon MGM Studios production about two couples, one famous and the other not.

Last night a studio source said: “This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves. She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right. It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set. Everyone involved is super-excited, and have been sworn to secrecy about her involvement. Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”

[From The Sun]

Not “she has been swamped with offers”!!! Not an admission that people in LA love Meghan and want her to work on their films and TV projects! My god, this is so funny. What else… Variety confirmed the Sun’s story and they said Meghan filmed a “small cameo role” in the film about “a ‘regular’ couple that meets a celebrity couple while on a trip to Santa Barbara. When the two couples become friends, lines are crossed and things get awkward.” What’s crazy about that is… why not film Meghan’s cameo IN Santa Barbara, close to where she lives? Why did they ask her to schlep to the studio?? Anyway, People Magazine had this exclusive as well:

Meghan Markle’s newest role has her feeling “very relaxed and happy.” After eight years away from acting in film and television productions, the Duchess of Sussex is now working on a movie featuring stars Lily Collins and Brie Larson, an insider confirms to PEOPLE on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The Sun was first to report the news of Meghan’s new project after she was seen on the set of Amazon MGM Studios’ Close Personal Friends in Pasadena, Calif.

“Meghan was on the set today,” the insider exclusively tells PEOPLE, adding that Meghan has a small role in the project.

“She seemed very relaxed and happy,” the insider continued. “She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down-to-earth.”

[From People]

Going from what I know about Lily Collins and Brie Larson, I bet both women were super-excited to see Meghan. Brie is very hippie/nature/granola, and I feel like Meghan definitely has that side to her too. Lily is a big deal over at Netflix (Emily in Paris) and so is Meghan, so they probably talked business. Anyway, it is cracking me up that Meghan was on a studio set in LA on the same day as Prince William’s Earthshot AND Harry was doing events in Toronto as well.

Here’s All We Know About The Cameos In Thamma!

Every Surprise Cameo Featured In The Latest Maddock Horror Comedy Universe Film!

Every Cameo Appearance In Thamma Movie Explored! ( Photo Credit – Maddock Films )

Spoiler Alert: This article contains major spoilers from Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma.

Thamma is the latest addition to the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. The film is successfully running in theaters and getting major buzz from the audience. One of the most talked-about aspects of the movie is the cameo appearances of other major characters from the universe. These cameo appearances connect Thamma with the other films from the MHCU. In this article, we will discuss all the cameos from the Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer.

Bhediya (Varun Dhawan)

One of the most impactful cameo appearances in Thamma was Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya. Dhawan’s werewolf, aka Bhaskar, was seen engaged in a heated confrontation with Ayushmaan’s character. The audience loved the new, enhanced version of Bhediya, and the cameo felt gigantic in the film. This cameo has even generated significant buzz for the next installment of the Bhediya movie.

Bhediya is my favourite character from the universe 🐺 pic.twitter.com/g80jIuYOEt

Elvis Karim Prabhakar (Sathyaraj)

Elvis Karim Prabhakar appeared in Munjya and played a significant role in capturing the evil power. Sathyaraj’s character also had a brief cameo in Thamma. He was the one aware of the existence of Vetaals and their heated rivalry with Bhediyas. Elvis also asserted to Alok’s father that he would remain a Vetaal for the rest of his life, leading to Paresh Rawal’s character accepting the fate of his son, Alok (Ayushmann).

Jana (Abhishek Banerjee)

Abhishek Banerjee’s Jana also had a cameo role in Thamma. In the film, Jana was seen in a conversation with Elvis Karim, expressing his concern about Bhaskar’s failure to transform into Bhediya.

During this scene, Jana came across Alok and even called him Bittu, his friend from Stree Universe. This reference to Bittu comes from the real-life story, as Ayushmann Khurrana and Aparshakti Khurrana, aka Bittu, are brothers in reality.

Jana played by #AbhisekhBanerjee — the ultimate soul of the #MaddockHorrorComedyUniverse

From #Stree to #Thamma he’s the invisible thread tying the whole #MHCU together. The Nick Fury of this universe —

Sarkata (Sunil Kumar/Akshay Kumar)

Sarkata from the Stree Universe appears at the end of Thamma, where he rescues Yakshasan from the Vetaals. Although some fans are convinced that the Sarkata in Thamma is a version of Akshay Kumar’s character who was seen drinking from a lava pot at the end of Stree 2, it is not officially known whether the Sarkata seen in Thamma was Sunil Kumar’s version of the character or Akshay’s. However, it is likely that Thamma leads to a potential alliance between Sarkata and Yakshasan. The cameo from Sarkata in provides an excellent ending to Maddock’s latest film.

Nora Fatehi’s Special Cameo

Additionally, Nora Fatehi, who first appeared in the MHCU with the viral Kamariya song from Stree, was featured in another song, titled Dilbar Ki Ankhon Ka, in Thamma. However, her appearance this time was more than just a dance number as Nora was portrayed as one of the Vetaals in the film.

Diwali just got hotter! 🔥#DilbarKiAankhonKa is here, and @iamnoraf is back to set the dance floor on fire. 💃

Song Out Now.

Stephen Colbert’s Cameo Explained and More Changes

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

[Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers for the Elsbeth Season 3 premiere, “Yes, And…”]

Stephen Colbert guest-starred as a parody of himself in the Elsbeth Season 3 premiere, but his prescient line, “We’re going to miss this show when it’s gone,” was written before his real-life late-night show was canceled by CBS this summer. That cancellation came one week before Colbert was set to film his Elsbeth episode, which reunited him onscreen with his Strangers With Candy costar and longtime friend, Amy Sedaris, as well as Andy Richter and Lindsay Mendez (who will be back throughout Season 3).

“Yes, And…” revealed that Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) spent some time with her romantic fling, Angus (Ioan Gruffudd), and was still friends with Sheryl (Marcia DeBonis) from Season 2. Sheryl’s new book was the reason Elsbeth was on the set of Way Late With Scotty Bristol before Bristol (Colbert) was murdered.

Elsbeth used the improv skills she learned from Sedaris’s Laurel to solve the case. Laurel was revealed to be the killer of the week in the opening scene, but Elsbeth is breaking form in Season 3. Not every murderer will be revealed when the episodes begin.

The Elsbeth Season 3 premiere also gave an update on Kaya (Carra Patterson), who’s unable to get in contact with Elsbeth because she’s on an undercover mission. Here, Elsbeth showrunner Jonathan Tolins breaks down the premiere, Colbert’s appearance post-Late Show cancellation, what to expect with returning and new characters, and more.

What is Elsbeth’s biggest internal struggle this season?

Jonathan Tolins: She is dealing with Kaya not being around because Kaya has gone on undercover assignments and has gone off. She says she wants to cultivate her friendships a bit more this season. Those new friendships lead to some thorny questions for her about honesty and truth, and what is most important to her.

Carrie told us that Crawford [Michael Emerson] is an emotional burden on Elsbeth after she witnessed his murder.

We will be meeting someone from Crawford’s world who will make an appearance that will have an effect on Elsbeth this season.

Crawford was a major villain for Season 2, with a long arc. Will this character connected to him have a similar arc length?

No, I think this season, we do have some longer arcs and some new characters who have longer arcs, but we’re not doing a big new villain. We didn’t want to feel like we were repeating ourselves in any way, so it’s a little different this year.

How else are you breaking form in Season 3?

Well, we’re doing a lot of episodes that don’t adhere to the strict Columbo form of seeing the murder and then Elsbeth figuring it out. There are some episodes where you don’t see the murder, some episodes where you have no idea who did it for a while, which we’ve done once or twice before in the past. And also we’re finding fun structural ways to bring the case into Elsbeth’s orbit that’s not the typical, the police call, and we go to the crime scene, and we try to figure it out.

Michael Parmelee / CBS

Could you expand on that?

I just finished editing an episode where the murder, you see the whole murder story start, you see the murder, and then we just go to Elsbeth in her life at an event, and you think you’re in a totally different story. And then the murderer walks in, and Elsbeth meets him, and something he says sort of leads her to the case. Things like that. We like to keep our audience guessing.

That murderer is not very slick.

Well, he has no idea that this woman he’s meeting under perfectly reasonable circumstances works with the NYPD.

You wrote the premiere with Colbert in mind for the role of Scotty Bristol, correct?

Yes. What happened was, Wendell Pierce was a guest on Colbert’s show, and Colbert joked about how he really wanted to be a corpse on Elsbeth, and I think someone was there from CBS who immediately let Amy Reisenbach, who was the president of CBS, know that. Amy texted me immediately, like, “We’ve got to get Colbert on the show.” I’m a huge Strangers With Candy fan, and I wanted to get as much of Stephen as possible. To have him have a big part, we had to work out exactly how much time he would be able to give us due to his schedule.

Once I had the basic parameters, we put together a story that felt fun and that would be right for him, and also that would play a little bit on the audience’s understanding of who he is anyway. That’s why we made him a talk show host and all that. It was a real thrill for me. We cast Amy Sedaris in it, which I was well aware of their long history because, as I said, I’m a Strangers With Candy fanatic.

What was your reaction to Colbert’s cancellation, given that the news came out one week before he was set to start filming on your show?

Well, I was shocked and appalled, but then I immediately selfishly started thinking, Oh God, is he going to back out of doing the show? But then I realized he probably wouldn’t back out because he seemed very enthusiastic. And also, he would be working with his old friend, Amy. It’s not my department, but I think it’s terrible that his show is ending.

How was he on set? It was literally just days later.

He was a total delight, a total professional, just warm as can be. He was everything I wanted him to be. It was a great day.

There’s a line in this episode where he says, “We’re going to miss this show when it’s gone.” I was taken aback by how prescient it was.

I know. I felt the same way. That line was always in the script before. I’m very happy with the fact that the episode sort of resonates with what happened, but is not in any way a direct comment on what happened. I did not rewrite the script to reflect what was happening in the news that week. This was the story that we broke before we shot the episode, and then before all that happened.

Amy Sedaris as Laurel Hammond-Muntz, Lindsay Mendez as Officer Grace Hackett, Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni, Andy Richter as Mickey Muntz, Wendell Pierce as Captain Wagner, and Danny Mastrogiorgio as Detective Smullen in 'Elsbeth' Season 3 Episode 1

Mark Schafer / CBS

We talked a bit about how Elsbeth is struggling without Kaya there, but how is the Elsbeth-Wagner relationship evolving in Kaya’s absence?

I always say that they have a Lou and Mary kind of relationship, for those of you old enough to remember The Mary Tyler Moore Show. There’s such a genuine warmth between the characters and the actors. And also, there’s a really nice understanding now between the characters at this point. We’ve had 30 episodes where Elsbeth turned out to be right in the end. And so we didn’t want to keep having Captain Wagner say, “What are you doing? You’ve got to play by the book.” So we find lots of variations on where tension comes between them. And a lot of times they’re a team, a really fun team.

We have some new stuff coming up for Captain Wagner’s family and personal life, and we didn’t decide to create some big new conflict between Elsbeth and Wagner because we’ve done that. We had the first season end in a very difficult time between the two of them, and then they came back together again. We don’t like to repeat ourselves. And so I would say it’s just the relationship gets deeper and deeper as we go between them.

It seems kind of easy between them now. They just gel together.

And in the first episode that you saw, she is able to challenge him in a way that you wouldn’t have in the past about how [Lieutenant Steve] Connor [Daniel K. Isaac] is being treated in the precinct.

We hear mention of Kaya in the first episode, and we get an update on her undercover work. It’s been revealed that Kaya comes back in Episode 3. How often can fans expect to see or get updates on Kaya this season?

I’m not being cagey. A lot of it depends on scheduling and people’s lives and how the story goes. All I’ll say is, we love the character of Kaya. We love the relationship between Elsbeth and Kaya, and we love Carra Patterson, so we’re going to keep trying to get her as often as we can. That’s what I’ll say.

But we are also introducing fun new characters. We have a new uniformed officer in the premiere, played by Lindsay Mendez, who’s wonderful as Grace Hackett, and she’ll be back a number of times. We have some of the people that we introduced last year. We’re going to be introducing a new detective later on this season, so we mix it up.

One of the things about our show is that in order to get all these huge, incredible guest stars, we don’t have a huge cast of regulars. So I would say one kind of frustration of my job is that we work with these wonderful actors who everybody wants, and sometimes we can’t get them when we want them. So we have to be flexible and work it out as best we can. But I think we’ve done a good job of creating this stable of wonderful characters that we want to see. But we only have 43 minutes and a murder mystery and all these things. So I can’t make promises all the time about when you’re going to see who you want to see, but just know that we want to see them too.

Tina Fey, Seth Meyers Make Weekend Update Cameo With Amy Poehler

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Amy Poehler served as a brief guest anchor on Saturday Night Live‘s “Weekend Update,” and she was joined by two familiar faces — and that’s not including Colin Jost and Michael Che.

After making a surprise cameo during the cold open, Tina Fey made a second appearance during the infamous SNL bit. But that’s not all: they were also joined by fellow alumni Seth Meyers.

The segment kicked off with Poehler criticizing one of Jost’s jokes, to which they decided to settle their beef with “a good old fashioned ‘Weekend Update’ joke off.” The crowd then erupted in applause as Fey and Meyers entered the shot.

“Oh, did somebody say ‘Weekend Update’ joke off?” Fey asked. The Good Hang podcast host quickly introduced the two, noting, “My first wife and second wife, everybody!”

Jost then went on to set up the joke, saying, “A woman in Tennessee broke a hospital record after giving birth to a 13 pound baby, and go!”

Poehler replied with her own shot at creating the best joke, noting, “A woman gave birth to a 13 pound baby which was so big he slapped the doctor on his ass.” Fey then took her shot, saying, “A woman gave birth to a 13 pound baby, and the new baby’s name is Ahhhhh!”

Meyers continued the joke off: “A woman gave birth to a 13 pound baby, damn, did she give birth to it, or did it drive out?” They traded several jokes with Jost and Che, until Poehler affirmed, “We won!”

Poehler, Fey and Meyers’ spent years working on SNL amongst one another. As a trio, they served five years together as cast members on the show. The Mean Girls star exited the series in 2006, leaving Poehler and the Late Night host with two additional years together before Poehler left in 2008.

Poehler returned to SNL for her third time as host on Saturday night, where she was joined by musical guest Role Model. He even brought out his own special cameo in Grammy Award-winner Charli XCX.

Earlier in the night, Poehler and Fey portrayed Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem, respectively, in the cold open.

The Parks and Recreation star utilized her opening monologue to commemorate the official 50th anniversary of SNL, noting that the first episode of the show debuted exactly 50 years on Oct. 11, 1975. However, she also took time to criticize AI actress Tilly Norwood who made headlines after her studio revealed they were searching for her own representation.

“I remember watching the show in the ’70s, sitting in my house in Burlington, Massachusetts thinking, ‘I wanna be an actress someday, at least until they invent an AI actress who’s funnier and willing to do full frontal,’” Poehler said.

She later added, “I know it can feel like times are very tough right now, and in some ways they always have been and they always will be, so I’ll just say this — if there’s a place that feels like home that you can go back to and laugh with your friends, consider yourself lucky, and I do. And to that little AI robot watching TV right now who wants to be on this stage someday, I say to you, ‘Beep boop beep boop.’ Which translates to, ‘You’ll never be able to write a joke, you stupid robot.’”

Eli Manning on How That ‘Chad Powers’ Cameo Came About

by jummy84 October 7, 2025

Eli Manning had one final gift to give to Chad Powers before he fully ceded the character’s fate to star Glen Powell and showrunner Michael Waldron.

In episode three of Hulu’s Chad Powers, Powell’s Powers enters a game in relief to injured South Georgia Catfish starter Gerry Dougan (Colton Ryan) and carries the team to a last-minute, come-from-behind victory over the University of Mississippi Rebels, colloquially known as Ole Miss. The South Georgia sideline erupts; those on the Ole Miss side had a different reaction.

“(Who) the fuck is that guy?” a surprised, unhappy Eli Manning asks.

Manning, though clearly looking like Eli Manning at his alma mater, is actually not playing Eli Manning — he’s acting as an Ole Miss coach, The Hollywood Reporter is told.

“Omaha let us know, like, ‘Yeah, [Eli] is gonna come visit set, maybe do some press stuff with Glen,’ and we were always saying, ‘We’ve got to do a cameo with him,’” Waldron said. “We knew they were going to be playing Ole Miss — that felt like the right way.”

In the script, the coach character did not swear.

“Obviously, he has one line. I hope it plays as a somewhat shocking line, if you know Eli,” he continued. “He was just so game. That wasn’t what the line was in the script, and we were like, ‘What if you said ‘fuck’?”

The “fuck” he did — literally.

Manning is not the only Easter egg in the scene. Standing next to him with a coach’s headset on is Powell’s own father, Glen Powell Sr.

Glen Powell in Chad Powers

Chad Powers is an adaptation of a viral 2022 prank from Eli Manning’s ESPN+ series, Eli’s Places, a spinoff of big brother’s Peyton’s Places. In the sketch, the 41-year-old retired New York Giants great goes undercover at Penn State’s annual walk-on tryouts via a wig and facial prostheses/makeup as Chad Powers, a home-schooled, mom-coached quarterback. He looks funny (and way old) and sounds funny, but Chad’s arm is no joke. It the end, Manning and the Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin — the only two in on the gag — reveal Powers’ secret identity.

Somehow that turned into this.

Hulu’s Chad Powers follows disgraced Oregon Ducks quarterback Russ Holliday nearly a decade after he blew the national championship game — and the next eight years of his life. To get back into football, Holliday goes undercover as Chad Powers at the fictitious South Georgia University, which is desperate for a new QB. It’s a good thing his dad works in Hollywood hair and makeup.

Powers’ next victim is Peyton Manning’s old school, the University of Tennessee. This time, Powers, now the consensus QB1, lights up the opposition for 343 yards passing, 75 yards rushing, and four TDs. To recap: Powers just barely eked out a win against Eli’s school — but he absolutely lit up Peyton’s.

“That was my only suggestion to the plot of the show,” Eli Manning joked in a Zoom with THR.

It didn’t go unnoticed.

“Certain times you just gotta swallow your pride and say, ‘This is the best thing for the show,’” Peyton Manning told THR in a separate call. “[Chad Powers] is Eli’s baby, too. Eli helped create this and went for it, so I felt like he had a little more editorial say than I did, probably, in this one.”

Brothers are gonna be brothers.

Benicio Del Toro Makes Surprise Cameo In ‘SNL’ Skit About Spanish

by jummy84 October 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Benicio Del Toro made a surprise cameo appearance on Saturday Night Live tonight, joining host Bad Bunny and frequent collaborator Marcello Hernandez in a sketch spoofing the idiosyncrasies of the Spanish language.

Set in a medieval Spain, Bad Bunny and Hernandez were seen explaining to a cohort of scholars the reasoning behind why certain nouns were masculine or feminine.

“Yes, the ocean is a boy because it is fun, but sometimes, for no reason, it kill you,” Hernandez said.

Kenan Thompson then made the conclusion that a “girl word is a girl thing.” For example, dress would be feminine. “No, dress [vestido] is a boy,” Bad Bunny clarified.

Meanwhile, the word Bible is feminine “because it’s beautiful,” Bad Bunny said, and “also because, the Bible, everything you wanna do, it say no,” Hernandez added.

The Barcelona delegate, as portrayed by an overly ceceando Mikey Day, suggested skipping the tiresome lecture, only to be taken off camera to be beheaded.

At this point, Hernandez introduced his cousin to list “a few more rules that you’ll only need to remember for school but will be totally useless in real life.”

Enter stage left: Del Toro, fresh off his press tour for Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another.

“Listen carefully. We will do also formal and informal, like you or You,” he began, drawing the difference between the informal tú and formal usted, both Spanish pronouns for second-person singular.

He continued, “What if the letter ‘r’ lasted a really long time? Like errrrre,” joking about the Spanish rolled R, or trill as it’s known in English, and vibrante múltiple, as it’s known in Spanish.

Watch the sketch above.

‘Peacemaker’ Episode 6 Delivers ‘Superman’ Cameo, Confirms Fan Theory About Alternate Dimension

by jummy84 September 26, 2025
written by jummy84

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 6, “Ignorance Is Chris.”]

Peacemaker Season 2 delivered its biggest cameo yet as Episode 6, “Ignorance Is Chris,” made way for the inclusion of a major Superman character.

As fans have seen this season, quite a few characters from the blockbuster film cameo onscreen in Peacemaker, which creator James Gunn told TV Insider, “It is a continuation of Superman, but it’s also for adults.” A retcon moment from Season 1’s finale replaced the former Snyderverse Justice League with Gunn’s Justice Gang, which included Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), and Mr. Terrific (Edi Gathegi) alongside new Superman, David Corenswet, and Supergirl, Milly Alcock.

And both Green Lantern and Hawk Girl appeared alongside billionaire funder Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn) in Peacemaker‘s Season 2 premiere as Peacemaker (John Cena) auditioned for the Justice Gang. But Episode 6 made way for the most major and secretive of cameos with Nicholas Hoult as Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) paid a visit to the villainous Lex Luthor at Belle Reve Prison.

In the scene, Rick asked Lex for his help to track down Peacemaker and explained the concerns around dimensional rifts. Lex was rather sarcastic in his reception of the general as he greeted him, “General Flag, what an unexpected delight. Last time I saw you, you were denying that metahumans were a threat. And now it seems they’re taking over the world.”

HBO Max

As fans may recall, a lot of Lex’s actions in Superman revolved around outlawing metahuman activity and othering them in society, due in part because of his hatred towards his least favorite metahuman, Superman. According to Lex’s words, he’d been sentenced to 265 years in prison, and Rick offered to have him transferred somewhere without metahumans if he assisted in locating Peacemaker.

“Being goofy is no threat,” Lex argued when he learned that Peacemaker was merely a human vigilante without advanced abilities. But Rick pushed for the information and offered a mutually beneficial prospect, as he described this assistance as “an opportunity for redemption.”

Ultimately, Lex cooperated offscreen, but when Rick returned to the waiting area of the prison, he revealed to Sasha (Sol Rodriguez) that they’re now working with Lex Luthor. What that entails is for viewers to uncover as Season 2 continues to unfold.

In the meantime, the fan theory that Peacemaker’s alternate dimension was an all-white world devoid of diversity was proven accurate in Episode 6’s final moments as Adebayo (Danielle Brooks) tried to take a walk around the neighborhood after she and Economos (Steve Agee) cleaned up around Peacemaker’s home. The last minutes of the episode saw her surrounded by various neighbors as they ran toward her, and she, in turn, ran for her life.

At A.R.G.U.S., Peacemaker, and the regular dimension’s Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) uncovered the truth about the world as the American flag on someone’s desk unfurled, revealing a swastika instead of stars. What will happen next? Tune in next week to find out, and let us know what you thought of these shocking reveals in the comments section.
