Union Minister Deems HAQ As Bold, Calls It Close to Reality

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has refused to stop the release of the film Haq, dismissing a petition filed by Shah Bano’s daughter. The court said the movie carries a clear disclaimer stating that it is a dramatized and fictional interpretation inspired by the 1985 Shah Bano Supreme Court judgment, not an exact biography of any real person. The judge also noted that details related to the case are already part of the public record, and once information enters the public domain, privacy over it no longer applies.

In the midst of this, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal reacted to the film, saying Haq brings forward what really happened during the Shah Bano case and also reveals how the Congress leadership at that time engaged in appeasement politics. His comments have added a fresh political edge to the film’s release, especially as it touches upon one of the most debated legal and social moments in India’s history.

The court further observed that the petition was filed at the eleventh hour, even though reports about the film’s script, shooting and teaser had been out for months. Since the petitioner did not first challenge the censor certificate, the court found no reason to interfere and dismissed the plea.

Haq, starring Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam is releasing tomorrow. Directed by Suparn S Varma and backed by Junglee Pictures in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, the film explores a powerful real case that led to a landmark judgement by the Supreme Court. The censor board has cleared the film with zero cuts, granting it a UA certificate. It has also received a UA certificate from censor boards in the UAE, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Meek Mill Says Police Keep ‘Blitzing’ Him Over Firearms Despite Holding Licenses In 40+ States + Calls For Help Securing Nationwide Carry Permit

Meek Mill says he’s frustrated by repeated police stops over firearms despite having licenses.

In a Wednesday tweet he wrote that he holds firearm licenses in more than 40 states and often accompanies people licensed to carry in New York City. He called on followers for help obtaining licenses in every state to prevent officers from using gun possession as a reason to pursue him and disrupt his life. Meek framed the effort as a defensive measure to stop law enforcement from targeting him.

Y’all think Meek is being wrongfully targeted?

Lawsuit Against Spotify Calls ‘Billions’ of Drake Streams ‘Fraudulent’

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

A new class action lawsuit against Spotify alleges the company has “turned a blind eye” to “mass-scale fraudulent streaming” on its platform and that one musician in particular has been the beneficiary of “billions” of fake streams: Drake.

The suit was filed in California District Court on Sunday night with rapper (and cousin of Snoop Dogg) RBX named as the lead plaintiff. While the most eye-popping allegations in the suit relate to Drake’s streaming numbers, there are no specific accusations of wrongdoing against the “Nokia” rapper. Only Spotify is named as a defendant.

“Every month, under Spotify’s watchful eye, billions of fraudulent streams are generated from fake, illegitimate, and/or illegal methods,” like bots, the lawsuit states. Such “mass scale” streaming fraud, it continues, “causes massive financial harm to legitimate artists, songwriters, producers, and other rightsholders.”

Streaming royalties are paid out through a “streamshare” model, where subscription and ad dollars are put into a giant pool, with the money divvied up based on each artist’s share of the total streams. Most of that money already flows upstream to the most successful artists and biggest rights holders. In this type of shared-pool model, fake streams hurt other artists whose shares aren’t inflated. (Spotify and representatives for Drake did not immediately respond to a request for comment.)

While the lawsuit suggests that use of bots is widespread on Spotify, the only example it cites pertains to Drake. It claims “voluminous information” which Spotify “knows or should know” proves that a “substantial, non-trivial percentage” of Drake’s approximately 37 billion streams were “inauthentic and appeared to be the work of a sprawling network of Bot Accounts.”

This allegedly fraudulent activity took place between January 2022 and September 2025, according to the complaint. It claims an examination of Drake’s streams revealed “abnormal VPN usage” had obscured the location of the bot accounts streaming Drake’s songs. For instance, the lawsuit claims that over a four-day period in 2024, at least 250,000 streams of his song “No Face” originated in Turkey “but were falsely geomapped through the coordinated use of VPNs to the United Kingdom in [an] attempt to obscure their origins.”

Editor’s picks

The lawsuit also alleges that “a large percentage” of accounts streaming Drake’s music were “geographically concentrated around areas whose population could not support” such a high volume of streams. No exact places or numbers were given, though the suit claimed that some streams reportedly originated in areas with “zero residential addresses.”

The lawsuit also cites “significant and irregular uptick months” for Drake’s songs long after they’ve been released, as well as “slower and less dramatic” decay rates for Drake’s music compared to his contemporaries. (Decay rate refers to a typical streaming pattern where plays of an album or song naturally dwindle in the weeks and months after release.)

The lawsuit further claims that “the number of streams of Drake’s music attributable to individual accounts is staggering and irregular,” with a “massive amount of accounts listening to Drake’s music” doing so “23 hours a day.” Less than two percent of these users, the lawsuit goes on to claim, account for “roughly 15 percent” of Drake’s streams; and about about nine percent of Drake’s streams “are attributable to less than one percent” of these users.

“As a result,” the complaint claims, “Drake’s music accumulated far higher total streams compared to other highly streamed artists, even though those artists had far more ‘users’ than Drake.”

Related Content

The lawsuit does not state how the plaintiffs, or their lawyers, obtained this data, nor does it shed any light on how the analysis of Drake’s streaming numbers was conducted.

These allegedly fraudulent streams “generated significant revenues” for Drake and his company Frozen Moments, at the expense of other artists, the lawsuit claims. But it also states that Spotify “deliberately turns a blind eye to fraudulent streaming” for its own benefit.

While Spotify has taken steps in recent years to combat and tamp down streaming fraud, the lawsuit casts doubt on the efficacy of these measures and Spotify’s own incentives to stop fraud. It suggests that Spotify is particularly vulnerable to bots on the platform’s ad-supported free tier because myriad accounts can be generated without handing over a credit card number. By allegedly allowing bots to run rampant, Spotify can present high stream and user activity numbers to potential advertisers, the lawsuit alleges.

“For Spotify, more users and music streams means more advertising dollars, so long as the true origin of the streams remains hidden,” the lawsuit states. (Spotify also loses money in the form of royalty payouts whenever fraudulent streaming occurs.)

“Artists across the streaming industry need accurate reporting of streams and effective fraud detection to ensure fair compensation. When streams are artificially inflated on a large scale – as my client’s lawsuit alleges has happened with respect to streams of Drake’s music – it affects the income of countless songwriters, performers, and producers,” Mark Pifko, one of the lawyers with Baron and Budd, who filed the lawsuit on behalf of RBX, tells Rolling Stone. “The lawsuit seeks to address these broader issues, recoup losses for affected musicians, and make the streaming ecosystem as fair and transparent as possible for everyone involved.”

The new lawsuit — and the claims regarding Drake’s music — notably come just weeks after a judge tossed Drake’s lawsuit against Universal Music Group, which contained its own allegations of streaming fraud. Though technically a defamation case, Drake accused his own record label UMG of artificially inflating the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us,” marking arguably the most high-profile allegation of streaming fraud to date. UMG denied all of Drake’s allegations and the streaming fraud claims specifically, writing in a March legal filing, “There is no evidence of any such stream manipulation.”

Streaming fraud has been a topic of discussion in the industry for years. While pinpointing just how rampant it is — and calculating corresponding losses — is difficult, most estimates hover in the range of hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars. A 2019 Rolling Stone report noted that fake streams could be costing artists $300 million a year. A 2023 study in France found that between one and three percent of all streams in the country were fake. If those numbers held true globally, that would mean royalty losses up to $510 million. Last year, Beatdapp, a streaming fraud detection program, estimated that at least 10 percent of all streams are fraudulent, leading to annual losses of $2 to $3 billion.

Efforts to crack down on streaming fraud have ramped up around the world. A Danish man was convicted last year, while another individual was arrested in Brazil back in March. Over the summer, officials in Turkey — where the lawsuit says some of the allegedly fraudulent Drake streams originated — started investigating Spotify over several allegations, including bribes for playlist placement and bot streams distorting domestic charts. (A rep for Spotify told Music Business Worldwide at the time that they are “cooperating with the investigation, are actively seeking to understand it, and will work toward a swift, constructive resolution with the Turkish Competition Authority.”)

And in the U.S., federal prosecutors brought an unprecedented streaming fraud indictment last September against a North Carolina musician named Michael Smith. Smith is accused of using artificial intelligence to generate hundreds of thousands of songs, which he then allegedly streamed with bots. The feds claim that, at one point, Smith had as many as 10,000 active bot accounts streaming his music, and allegedly made over $10 million from this scheme. (Smith has denied the charges.)

Drake filed his first legal claims over “Not Like Us” just two months after Smith was arrested and indicted, and the official defamation suit was brought in January of this year. The streaming fraud allegations against UMG were based on statements from a purported anonymous whistleblower, who appeared on a show by DJ Akademiks, the popular streamer and longtime Drake associate. As stated in Drake’s lawsuit, the whistleblower claimed that Lamar’s label, Insterscope (a UMG subsidiary), paid him $2,500 “via third parties” to “use ‘bots’ to achieve 30 million streams on Spotify in the initial days following” the release of “Not Like Us.” Per the suit, the whistleblower said the goal was “jumpstarting” the song’s spread and making it “a crazy hit” on the platform.

UMG, in a motion to dismiss, noted the whistleblower “directly refuted” his own claim when he said that he was hired by Lamar’s manager, Anthony Saleh. In a revised complaint filed in April, Drake pared down his allegation, claiming “UMG was aware that third parties were using bots to stream the Recording and turned a blind eye, despite having the power to stop such behavior.”

The original suit also alleged that UMG “conferred financial benefits” to Apple so that Siri would “purposely misdirect users to” “Not Like Us” when they asked it to play Drake’s album, Certified Lover Boy. This claim was sourced partly to a viral video posted by HipHopDX’s Jeremy Hecht, who later clarified that Siri appeared capable of pulling up songs based on just lyrics it recognized. Thus, asking Siri to play Certified Lover Boy — without specifying “by Drake” — could conceivably trigger “Not Like Us,” because of Lamar’s line, “Certified loverboy? Certified pedophiles.”

Even before Drake filed his defamation lawsuit, many legal experts and industry figures were skeptical of his allegations and their viability in court. Speaking with Rolling Stone last year about the petition, Brian Zisook, co-founder of the streaming service Audiomack, even suggested Drake might regret asking Universal to provide documentation of artificial streaming.

“It’s likely that a lot of artists, Drake included, have benefited [from streaming bots] without their knowledge,” he said. Zisook also noted that many top artists have labels and distribution partners who have “opted into above-board programs like Discovery Mode and have artificially manipulated streams, and the artist has no idea. And they don’t ask questions because it looks good.”

Ultimately, Drake’s suit faltered. A judge summarily dismissed the suit’s defamation accusations, ruling that “Not Like Us,” as a diss track, qualified as “nonactionable opinion.” And while the judge’s decision largely centered on the validity of Drake’s defamation claims — or lack thereof — she also briefly addressed his streaming fraud allegations. She said Drake’s evidence essentially amounts to “Tweets by individual users and reporting from fans,” and called his “reliance on online comments and reporting insufficient to meet the plausibility standard.”

The proposed class action filed Sunday claims damages in excess of $5 million. It’s asking that a federal judge certify the lawsuit as a class action, order Spotify to identify alleged victims, and oversee a jury trial seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Trump Calls ICE on Property Brothers After They Build Ballroom

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Viewers were seeing double of Saturday Night Live host Miles Teller when he portrayed twins Jonathan and Drew Scott — the stars of the hit HGTV show Property Brothers — during a skit of them helping President Donald Trump build his new White House ballroom.

“This week we’re taking on our biggest challenge yet: building the new White House ballroom,” Teller’s Drew says before James Austin Johnson’s Trump joins them to ask, “So which one of you is married to New Girl and which one of you is the gay?

Jonathan clarifies that he’s married to Zooey Deschanel, who starred in the hit TV show, New Girl.

He then provides background on their new construction project. “Donald and Melania [Trump] moved into this house nine years ago. They were evicted for four years, but they moved back in,” Jonathan says as Teller’s Drew adds, “Donald has a strong eye for interior design.”

The camera then cuts to Trump placing gold urns everywhere. “That makes me happy. It’s very important to be happy these days. Really dark stuff happening in the world. Some of it me,” Trump says.

Even after replacing paintings in the historic building and paving over the grass in the Rose Garden with stone, Drew says, “Donald and Melania still feel like something’s missing.”

“The house is only 55,000 square feet and 132 rooms,” Chloe Fineman’s Melania says before Trump chimes in, “We need more space, right, honey? We need more space.” Melania adds, “And we need a ballroom because, Donald, he loves to dance.”

As for the budget for the White House ballroom, Jonathan says Trump told them that it was “between $350 million and infinity.” They also asked the president if he needed a permit for the construction.

“Donald laughed really hard,” Drew says of Trump’s response as Jonathan adds, “He said, ‘I could build this ballroom with the bones of my enemies and no one could stop me.”

In addition to the ballroom, Johnson’s Trump tells the Property Brothers that he also wants a ring for MMA fights on the White House lawn.

“Official ones, but also casual fights in the backyard. You know what I’m talking about? Two mentally ill guys just wailing on each other,” he explains. “We can do bum fights again. Remember bum fights? We love bum fights.”

Once demolition got underway, Jonathan updated that the entire East Wing was torn down in two days.

“With the government still shut down and so many workers furloughed, we were able to force park rangers and astronauts to do a lot of the demolition,” Drew says before Jonathan adds, “Unfortunately, the renovation hit a bit of a snag when Donald realized he had deported all the construction workers.”

“But in the end, we’re confident the new ballroom will be a shining beacon of freedom for all Americans,” Drew says.

Although that’s a bit questionable, as Johnson’s Trump admits the ballroom will “be ready just in time for my third term.” Melania notes that they “want this to be our forever home,” with Trump adding, “Yes, because we’re not leaving. We’re gonna be doing something called coup.”

At the end of the SNL skit, the Property Brothers ask for payment for the construction work. But instead of paying Drew and Jonathan, Trump asks, “Aren’t you guys from Canada?” When the brothers confirm they are, the president then calls Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on them.

Johnson’s Trump says, “There goes ICE. We like a bigot ICE.”

Claressa Shields Fires Back at Laila Ali: “The Accolades Don’t Match the Mouth” – Calls Out Boxing Legend

Boxing champion Claressa Shields is doubling down on her comments about Laila Ali, reigniting tension between two of women’s boxing’s biggest names.

In a series of posts shared Tuesday (Oct. 31), Shields took aim at Ali’s legacy — accusing her of ducking opponents and overstating her accomplishments.

“lol Laila was never undisputed in no weight class the accolades don’t match the mouth,” Shields wrote. “And she ran fast from Ann Wolfe. The truth is getting louder and louder. 4x world champion and I’m 19x world champion with LESS fights. BFFR. She’s mad I called her bluff!”

The Olympic gold medalist and self-proclaimed GWOAT (Greatest Woman of All Time) followed up with more fiery posts, continuing her critique while adding a Halloween-themed jab:

“Happy Halloween some people don’t need mask, they already are fake and some clowns,” she wrote.

In another tweet, Shields responded to Ali’s past comments suggesting she wouldn’t “reward” Shields with a fight, mocking the notion that she could ever be knocked out.

“Y’all be fooled by anything ‘I won’t reward her with a fight’ how are you rewarding me by supposedly knocking me out being knocked out is not a reward,” she wrote. “All that bark with no bite — we all know she can’t bust a grape. But you don’t want to get hit by me though.”

Neither Ali nor her camp has publicly responded to Shields’ latest remarks as of this writing.

The two champions have traded words for years over a potential matchup, though Ali, now retired, has said she’s not interested in returning to the ring. Shields, meanwhile, remains active as a multi-division titleholder and continues to call out legends she feels discredit her reign.

? Do you think Claressa and Laila should settle this once and for all in the ring — or let the legacy talk rest?

Oasis’ Liam Gallagher Calls Out “Seriously F**ked Up Person” For Launching Flare

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

In a rare moment of the language meeting the situation, Liam Gallagher has lambasted the “seriously fucked up person” who launched a flare during Oasis’ sold-out October 31st concert in Melbourne, Australia.

The incident happened Friday night local time as part of Oasis’ three-show stay at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium. According to reports, at least one flare was launched into the stadium as the band wrapped up the evening with “Champagne Supernova.”

In an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, concertgoer Brad Bultman said that he and others had originally believed the flare to be part of some grand finale pyrotechnics display.

“Then very quickly I saw it explode and expand a bit further, and then somebody actually pick up the live flair [sic] and toss it back in the air and created more fire and smoke in a different area,” Bultman said. “I was like, ‘Oh geez’ — you hope nobody gets hurt.”

Bultman went on to say that Gallagher’s initial reaction was to tell the crowd “naughty, naughty, naughty.” However, upon taking to X/Twitter after the show, Gallagher offered up a string of four letter words to the feckless fan.

“To the massive CUNT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me,” wrote Gallagher.

Also speaking to ABC, the venue’s security team said they’d already instituted bag searches and wanding for the event. However, they noted that there would be an increased security presence ahead of the shows on Saturday (November 1st) and Tuesday (November 4th). Following the Melbourne dates, the band are due at Sydney’s Accor Stadum next week.

This incident aside, Oasis’ reunion tour has gone swimmingly enough. Our own Jonah Krueger saw the band’s August concert from Chicago’s Soldier Field (their first U.S show of the North American tour), saying that “Oasis’ current iteration more than delivers.” He added, “If anything is surprising, it’s how remarkably smooth the Oasis machine is running, especially for being out of use for a decade-and-a-half.”

As we previously reported, Oasis only have a handful of tour dates planned for the remainder of 2025. However, according to Gallagher, there’s a lot more in store for 2026.

A$AP Rocky Calls Himself Rihanna’s “Husband” – Are They Secretly Married?! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 November 1, 2025

It looks like music’s most stylish power couple, A$AP Rocky, and Rihanna, may have finally secretly wed. And after months of the world speculating over their marital status, 36-year-old rapper A$AP Rocky has once more set those wedding rumours alight by referring to himself as a “loving husband” in a recent interview — sending fans into a frenzy online.

Speaking to The Perfect Magazine, A$AP Rocky offered a rare glimpse into his personal life and family with the Diamonds hitmaker. “Being a father and a partner and a loving husband in my family is what makes me really, really happy,” he shared. “I hope this doesn’t sound cliché, but that’s what truly drives me being able to express myself creatively, being a family man, and being an artisan. No matter what role I play, it’s about giving my all.”

The candid comments by the rapper instantly sparked speculation that he and Rihanna, who recently welcomed their third child, may have had a secret wedding. The famously private couple has not publicly confirmed a wedding, but it’s also not the first major hint Rocky’s dropped.

During an interview with Elle some time ago, when quizzed about his marital status, he coquettishly replied, “How do you know I’m not already someone’s husband?”, adding with a smirk, “I’m still not going to confirm it.” His evasive but teasing remarks only added fuel to the growing buzz surrounding the couple’s relationship.

Rocky and Rihanna’s love story has been a decade in the making. The two first sparked dating rumors back in 2013, when A$AP Rocky opened for Rihanna’s Diamonds World Tour. They remained close friends for years before officially confirming their relationship in 2021, when Rocky described Rihanna as “the love of my life” in an interview with GQ.

Their family life subsequently blossomed: Rihanna gave birth to their first son, RZA, in 2022, and their second child, Riot, in 2023. Earlier this year, the singer announced her third pregnancy during her Met Gala appearance, while in September 2025, the couple welcomed their daughter, Rocki. Talking to Rihanna about life at home, Rocky said, “When you come home, it’s about family. It’s about your relationship. It’s about your household. It isn’t about all that other sh*t.” If his words are any indication, A$AP Rocky and Rihanna have quietly constructed a life together hinged on love, art, and family-marriage certificate or not.
