Event Tech Awards 2025 Winners Revealed Following a Buzzing First Day at Event Tech Live

The energy was high yesterday as the Event Tech Awards 2025 brought the first day of Event Tech Live in London to a close, celebrating the standout technologies, teams and innovators shaping the future of the global events industry.

With a record number of entries and some of the strongest submissions to date, this year’s competition showcased innovation across every corner of the event tech ecosystem—from AI-driven platforms and sustainability solutions to next-generation engagement, content and production tools.

Among the evening’s multi-award winners were Sitka and Blink, each recognised by judges for their continued contributions to improving organiser and attendee experiences. Sitka collected honours including Best Chief Technology Officer and Best Sustainable Tech Solution, while Blink was celebrated in categories such as Best Event App and Best Personalisation Technology. They joined an impressive cohort of winners representing a diverse and vibrant marketplace.

This year’s awards were proudly supported by One World Rental, the Event Tech Awards 2025 headline sponsor, whose commitment to innovation continues to elevate the global events sector. The programme was once again powered by Evessio, whose technology underpins the awards’ judging, entry and ceremony experience.

Held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, the star-studded event saw Kim embrace high fashion drama in a striking look from Maison Margiela Fall 2025 Couture.

Kim wore a nude-toned gown that clung elegantly to her silhouette, with a strapless, corset-inspired bodice and fluid draping that cascaded into soft folds at the hemline. Long, flowing sleeves added a dramatic, goddess-like flair. But it was her face-covering mask that truly stole the show.

The sheer fabric, wrapped around her head and obscuring her face, was an unexpected twist that turned heads and sparked conversation online. In a chat with Variety, Kim revealed that the mask was a last-minute addition — after completing full hair and makeup with longtime collaborator Mario Dedivanovic, who flew in from New York just for the event. “I’m sure he’s not so happy with it,” she joked.

Speaking about her look, Kim shared her admiration for the designer: “Margiela couture… You know, I love Margiela.” She also noted how the design reminded her of her own brand: “It does look very Skims-y… That’s why I was drawn to it when I saw the couture show.”

Kim paired the gown with an oversized, crystal-embellished choker and chunky green rings, adding sparkle and contrast to the soft-toned dress.

Reactions online were divided. While many fans hailed it as a “serve” and praised her boldness, others weren’t impressed, calling the outfit “boring” or “hideous.”

The gala, presented by Rolex, welcomed stars like Selena Gomez, Sydney Sweeney, Viola Davis, and Bruce Springsteen, raising key funds for museum programming and exhibitions.

The actor, 36, starred in the 2022 sequel to the original Top Gun film, and has now said he and his co-stars’ bonds have endured well beyond filming as they continue to share updates and celebrate one another’s achievements by text.

He told People: “Sometimes I’ll get a little information every once in a while from the gang. The Top Gun chain is alive with congratulations to each other, about sort of movie openings or nominations, or whatever it is.”

Glen added: “Miles’ movie doing really well, Monica getting nominated for an Oscar. Everybody is getting to do all these really wonderful, cool things, so it’s a lot of congratulations.”

The star was referring to fellow cast members Miles Teller and Monica Barbaro, and also mentioned Lewis Pullman and Danny Ramirez.

Top Gun: Maverick follows Tom Cruise as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, returning to the ‘Top Gun’ Naval aviation program 30 years after his graduation.

His new students include Miles as Lt Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw, the son of his late best friend Goose, originally played by Anthony Edwards in the 1986 film.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the sequel was a critical and commercial hit.

It earned nominations at the Academy Awards, the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, and was named one of the top films of 2022 by the American Film Institute.

In January 2024, Variety confirmed a new sequel was in development.

Christopher McQuarrie, the writer-producer on Top Gun: Maverick, told the Happy Sad Confused podcast in May a third film in the franchise was in the works.

Despite the excitement, Glen said his group chat has not provided any insider knowledge on the upcoming project.

He told People: “I wish. I wish I had something. I literally have nothing.

“There’s been no new dialogue on that text chain. There was a lot of speculation about a movie there for a while, but no new intel.”

Glen is currently promoting his new Hulu comedy series Chad Powers, launched in partnership with Raising Cane’s.

The show will begin streaming on 30 September.
