The Baz Luhrmann-directed love labor documentary EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert has received strong reviews and audience response at the Toronto International Film Festival. The fest just added an additional screening tomorrow at 8:30 PM at Scotiabank 12. Pic premiered as an acquisitions title, and while most of the buyer crowd has gone back to LA and New York, I’m told that multiple buyers are circling with streamers leaning in. This was one of a few titles with sizeable mainstream audience potential to be in play. Another is Normal, the raucous action pic written by John Wick and Nobody creator Derek Kolstad and starring Bob Odenkirk. There will be numerous TIFF sales, but they are just going to follow that slower track that is maddening for a journalist who were around when splashy deals followed all-night auctions hours after films premiered. Those days for the most part are gone.

Meet the new cast of Only Murders in the Building Season 5: Renée Zellweger, Christoph Waltz and more

Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building is here, and the Arconia has fresh faces. The Hulu hit dropped its first three episodes on September 9, kicking off another round of chaos for Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez). This time, the victim is close to home – beloved doorman Lester, played by Teddy Coluca. His death in the courtyard fountain pulls the trio back into sleuth mode.
“Our beloved doorman has a hold of a large amount of tenants in our buildings’ secrets,” co-creator John Hoffman told Decider last year. “We really are dipping our toe into a New York City in season 5 that feels particularly ripped from the headlines in certain ways that we’ve not done before,” he added.
Returning players include Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Nathan Lane, Richard Kind, Michael Cyril Creighton, and Téa Leoni. But it’s the newcomers that have people talking.
Renée Zellweger leads the new arrivals
Renée Zellweger plays Camila White, a powerful billionaire tied to the city’s hospitality world. In the trailer, she drops a chilling line: “The easiest way to win is to make your opponent think they’re playing a different game entirely.”
Christoph Waltz joins as Bash Steed, a tech mogul whose sudden interest in the Arconia raises suspicion. Logan Lerman rounds out the trio of billionaires as Jay Pflug, heir to a pharmaceutical empire. “This is the new mob of New York! These people could be killers,” Oliver declares in the preview.
The list does not stop there. Keegan-Michael Key steps in as embattled Mayor Tillman. Jermaine Fowler plays Randall, the doorman reluctantly promoted after Lester’s death. Beanie Feldstein appears as Althea – or “Thé” – Mabel’s estranged childhood friend turned pop star. Bobby Cannavale shows up as mob-tied Nicky Caccimelio, while Dianne Wiest plays Lester’s widow, Lorraine.
A mix of comedy, star power, and suspicion
According to People, the season weaves in corruption, celebrity, and old rivalries alongside the murder mystery. Feldstein’s flashy pop star clashes with Mabel. Cannavale’s mobster raises red flags after a fight with Lester. Wiest delivers heart as the grieving wife with her late husband’s secrets.
The newcomers expand an already stacked cast while keeping the series’ balance of humor and tension intact. With Streep, Zellweger, Waltz, and Wiest sharing the screen, season 5 leans even harder into prestige casting.
Hoffman called Wiest’s addition a personal thrill, telling Parade he “couldn’t believe” she said yes. Five seasons in, the Arconia still has secrets – and now even more suspects.

Will ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Return for Season 6? Everything We Know So Far
by jummy84

Only Murders in the Building Season 5 may not have premiered yet, but stars Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short are already looking ahead to the show’s future at Hulu.
While Season 6 hasn’t been ordered yet, that doesn’t mean they’re closing the book on Charles (Martin), Mabel (Gomez), and Oliver’s (Short) mystery-solving scenarios. The trio is back at it to uncover the mystery behind Arconia doorman Lester’s (Teddy Coluca) mysterious death, which capped Season 4, but in terms of where the story will take viewers in Season 5, they’ll have to tune in.
When asked about whether or not they know when the how will end, Martin told Entertainment Tonight, “We do not know. We get asked, ‘How long do you guys want to do this?’ And I just go, ‘Well, you tell us?’” the actor and series co-creator shared about his approach to the show’s possible future.
For now, Martin added, “We like doing it and it’s a wonderful job for us. We couldn’t say, ‘Well, let’s just do something else,’ and it be a situation that’s not as fun…”

Martin’s pal and costar Short chimed in to add, “Hits are so rare, they’re such flukes when all of the stars line up, and I think this is one of them. But we would do it as long as we felt the quality was [there].”
In other words, the trio is in it for the long haul. “The producer asked me, ‘How long do you think you’ll do this?’ I said, ‘My motto is never say goodbye to a miracle,’” Martin added.
Whether you think Only Murders in the Building is a miracle or not, the show still brings in a bevvy of talent year-to-year, and five seasons in, there’s no exception to the grade-A talent showing up to play in this world. Among Season 5 additions are Renee Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, Logan Lerman, Bobby Cannavale, Dianne Weist, Beanie Feldstein, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jermaine Fowler.

Kris Jenner on building the Kardashian empire: ‘I never thought the exposure would be harmful…’
by jummy84

Kris Jenner may be 69, but she’s still running the Kardashian-Jenner empire with the same drive that launched the family’s widely successful dynasty nearly two decades ago. Fresh off her Vogue Arabia cover, chatter about her latest facelift nearly overshadowed her assiduous strategy that transformed her clan into one of the biggest OTT cash cows of the 21st century.
When Keeping Up With the Kardashians debuted, Kris was 51, a mom of six, juggling family and business in Calabasas. She had no doubts about opening her family’s private lives to the cameras. “To be perfectly honest, I never thought the exposure would be harmful. I just thought this was going to be a great journey. ‘Buckle your seatbelts, we are in for a wild ride, but we are going to have the time of our lives,’” she recalled in her interview with Vogue.
Rooted in practicality and faith, her ambition knew no bounds. “We were working in our stores in Calabasas, and I thought this would be a great way to give exposure to our business, as it was like an instant focus group. This was an immediate marketing tool and something that could come in handy for other things. I knew this was not a gamble. I also prayed about it. I got on my knees and I said, ‘Please Lord, lead me in the right direction,’ and that’s what I still do everyday. I have great spirituality and I’m very confident about my decisions, but I also feel we were led in the right direction,” she said.
Looking back at the moment the show began, when Kourtney was 28, Kim was 27, Khloé was 23, Rob was 20, and Kendall and Kylie were just 10 and 9, Kris sees it as the start of something none of them could have predicted. “But looking back, I never even dreamt that I could’ve had this amazing career starting at 51. I feel really lucky that it happened the way it did, allowing us to do it as a family,” she reflected.
Of course, the show revealed more than most families would ever allow. But Jenner insists she has no regrets about how open they’ve been. “You know, we don’t have any regrets. I don’t live with regrets,” she said. “We have a global television show in 200 countries and so many languages. Our enormous fanbase is very emotionally invested in the family. At this point, they want to see what we are doing, and they will know everything, especially as we live in the age of the internet. There’s nothing off-limits.”
From boutique owners in Calabasas to one of the most famous families on the planet, it’s quite clear that Kris Jenner’s gamble continues to pay off.
