Amitabh Bachchan Mourns Kamini Kaushal’s Death, Recalls Her Pre-partition Bond With His Family

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan penned a moving note for late actress Kamini Kaushal after she passed away on November 14 at the age of 98. For the uninitiated, Big B’s bond with Kaushal traces back to the pre-partition Punjab as the late actress’ family was close to Bachchan’s mother, Teji Bachchan’s family.

He shared an emotional tribute on his blog and wrote, “… and another loss .. a dear family friend of the days of yore .. when there was no partition .. Kamini Kaushal ji .. legendary artist, an icon, who contributed immensely to our Industry and who remained, with us till the very last .. her family and Maa ji’s families were very dear friends in erstwhile pre partition Punjab ..”

His note continued, “Kamini ji’s elder sister was a very close friend of Maaji .. they were classmates, and a most joyous bunch of like minded friends .. the elder sister passed away regretfully in an accident, and as per the tradition of the times, in such an unfortunate situation, the sister of the deceased was married to the bereaved husband, her brother-in law ..”

Praising her for her talent and warmth, the actor added, “A most pleasant warm affectionate and talented artist, has left us .. at the age of 98 .. an era of great remembrance gone .. not just for the film fraternity, but as a member of the friends fraternity .. One by one they all are leaving us .. a most sad moment, filled only now with condolence and prayer .. .. her legendary performances of those early days, now just memories ..”

Kamini Kaushal was considered as one of the finest actresses of Hindi cinema. She made her debut in 1946 with the film Neecha Nagar, for which she won the 1946 Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

The actress played the lead actress in films such as Do Bhai (1947), Nadiya Ke Paar (1948), Shabnam (1949), Paras (1949) and Namoona (1949) among others. Kamini moved to playing character roles with Manoj Kumar’s Shaheed (1965). She later played mother in all his films from Upkar (1967), Purab Aur Paschim (1971), Sanyasi(1975), Shor (1972), Roti Kapda Aur Makaan (1974), Dus Numbari (1976) and Santosh (1989).

Remy Bond Releaes ‘Backstage at the Tropicana’ EP: Listen

Remy Bond is bringing listeners into her ethereal world of coconut bras, burlesque dancers, giant wigs, and tropical flowers. On Friday, the rising pop star released her debut EP, Backstage at the Tropicana, featuring music that glamorizes Hollywood magic from the Fifties to the Eighties.

“I’ve always wanted to go to Kokomo; it sounds like the perfect place. Get ready for some burlesque on the beach,” she tells Rolling Stone in a statement.

When putting together the EP, Bond said she wanted to put together something that reflected her music so far but also “set the tone” for future projects. The compilation includes previously released singles like “Star Shaped Baby,” “Summer Song,” and “Moviestar,” along with vibrant new releases, “Hawaiian Dream,” “Skin Tight Jeans,” and “Orlando.”

“I’ve always felt nostalgia was the strongest emotion. I had a magical childhood, and I think I glamorize that nostalgia in the same way I think of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s,” she says. “Though the past slowly fades, I try to write each song like a reminder of those disappearing worlds. One song might take you to a 50s diner, another on a Hawaiian honeymoon.”

The musician, who Rolling Stone crowned as an Artist You Need to Know earlier this year, will go on a European tour to celebrate the record. “I hope to make a perfume to match this album’s vibe. I want to smell like an 80s motel,” she reveals. “I’m working on a scent for the Tropicana merch right now.”

When she was in the midst of making the project, she told Rolling Stone that she found much inspiration while on mushrooms with her go-to producer Jules Apolinaire. “Every shroom trip, we got a new source of inspiration. We wrote ‘Movie Star’ on shrooms,” she said over the summer. “We were like, ‘Oh my gosh, if we take shrooms, we can write so many bangers.’ So we would just go into album mode every time we would do it.”

As for herself? The 46-year-old said she and Rob are “super close friends.”

“At one point, we would go out together, hold hands, just have so much fun together,” Kourtney quipped. “I love having him around.”

But opportunities for fans to keep up with Rob are few and far between. After all, he stepped away from reality TV in 2017 after welcoming daughter Dream, 8, with ex Blac Chyna.

Rishabh Tandon was a singer, composer, and actor from Mumbai whose artistic strength and spiritual perspective gained him respect. His Instagram bio introduced him as “A believer, surrounded by the energies of Shiva… Singer | Composer | Actor.” He was most famous for the work he did in Faqeer – Living Limitless and Rashna: The Ray of Light, both ventures into creativity and contemplation that showed how much he loved doing these things.

Aside from his work as an artist, Rishabh was famous for his kind heart and his affection for animals. His social media posts frequently included glimpses of his pets cats, dogs, and birds revealing his kind side.

According to booking records obtained by theJasmineBrand (@the.jasmine.brand), the couple’s bail was set at $50,000. They were arrested by local Maryland police late Thursday and booked on multiple financial-related charges, including several felony counts tied to allegedly providing false or misleading information.

Officials confirm the Osefos will be required to personally appear in court once a date is scheduled, in accordance with a court order. No additional release conditions were imposed.

An attorney was not present during their release, though it remains unclear whether legal counsel was involved during booking.

As of this afternoon, the couple was still being processed but expected to walk free later today after posting bond.

This marks the latest development in what’s quickly becoming one of the most shocking off-camera scandals to hit The Real Housewives of Potomac.

New James Bond will be a “fresh face” British actor, says new report

The new star of the James Bond franchise will reportedly be a “fresh face” and will be British.

Daniel Craig departed the film series with 2021’s No Time To Die and speculation has been rife ever since about the identity of his 007 successor. Earlier this year, Amazon took over creative control of the franchise, with Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight having since been confirmed as director and writer, respectively.

The decision over who will take the role has yet to be made, but Deadline have reported that Villeneuve and the producers are seeking a “fresh face” and will only be choosing from British actors. Their preference is said to be to cast “an unknown” that is in his late 20s or early 30s.

It was recently reported that unknown actor Scott Rose-Marsh had tested for the role, while it has also been claimed that Harris Dickinson, Jacob Elordi and Tom Holland were being eyed for the part by Amazon – with the latter recently addressing the rumours by saying it is “the pinnacle of working in our industry”.

Kingsman actor Taron Egerton – who has also been a fan favourite for the role – has seemingly taken himself out of the running: “I don’t think I’m a good choice for it,” he said. “I think I’m too messy for that… as far as I’m aware, nobody’s asking me to do it. But also, it’s possibly not quite the thing that would make me happiest. I do think it’s a big old undertaking, it kind of consumes your life, a role like that.”

Helen Mirren recently said that she believed Bond has to be played by a man. “I’m such a feminist, but James Bond has to be a guy,” she said. “You can’t have a woman. It just doesn’t work. James Bond has to be James Bond, otherwise it becomes something else.”

NME awarded No Time To Die four stars, writing: “For the most part though, and with so much at stake thanks to COVID decimating cinema, No Time To Die producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson should be applauded for taking some bold risks. The gobsmacking ending, in fact, may be the biggest in Bond history. Yet when the credits finally roll on Daniel Craig’s last hurrah, all those difficulties fade into the background. If we didn’t know better, we’d say it even looked like he enjoyed himself.”

During a recent candid chat on Krishnank Atrey’s YouTube channel, Yograj Singh recalled how society had often urged him to get son Yuvraj Singh married in his 20s. Stating that he strongly opposed the idea as he wanted his son to focus on his game, the former cricketer said, “People wanted me to marry Yuvraj off in his 20s. I said, ‘Is he old already?’ When he turned 38, I told him, ‘Now you can think about it. I can’t choose for you. It’s your life, so find your partner.’”

He continued, “But I did request him to change the breed. People hearing this might oppose it, but we wanted an Irish or English girl in the family. And then Hazel [Keech] came into our lives.” For he unversed, Keech is of half-British, half-Mauritian origin. She is known for her work in films like Billa and Bodyguard.

During the same conversation, Yograj made it clear that Hazel was everything he had hoped for and more. He said wih warmth, “They have such beautiful kids, and they treat me like their friend. I don’t call Hazel my daughter-in-law, she is my daughter.”

‘Jeopardy!’ Fans React After James Bond Controversy & Shocking Result

The September 19 episode of Jeopardy! was met with some controversy over a ruling on a James Bond clue. Continue reading to find out the results of the game and see if Paolo Pasco won for the eighth time.

Pasco, from San Diego, California, played against Hebah Uddin, from Long Island, New York, and Steven Olson, from Princeton, Illinois. The reigning champion had a seven-day total of $195,717.

Puzzle writer Pasco had the lead for the first 15 clues. Olson, a band director, found the Daily Double right before the first commercial break. He had $800 and wagered the allotted $1,000. In “Quick Chem,” the clue was “Atomic number 27, it’s used in EV batteries & when mixed with alumina, it’s a brilliant blue.” He answered correctly with “What is cobalt?”, bringing him to $1,800. Olson still maintained third place.

In the second half of the round, Pasco answered the clue “From an N64 game: ‘Recover the pirate helicopter & get to the bottom of this. You are licensed to kill’” in “From the Video Game Manual.” He said, “What is GoldenEye?”

Host Ken Jennings asked him to be more specific, and Pasco said, “James Bond: GoldenEye?” He was wrong.

Olsen then buzzed in and said, “What is 007 GoldenEye?”

“It pains me to say this because you were so close,” Ken Jennings said. “GoldenEye is the movie, GoldenEye 007 is the game.” They both lost $1,000 on that response.

“Terrible ruling,” a Reddit user said.

“GoldenEye absolutely should have been accepted, and “007 GoldenEye” probably should have been too. On the box art, the way the logo is stylized doesn’t clearly indicate whether the 007 is supposed to come before or after GoldenEye, and on the title screen, there’s no 007 at all; the in-game name of the game is just GoldenEye. The very first page of the manual before the table of contents, does say “Thank you for selecting the GOLDENEYE 007 Game Pak”, but the page that they got the quote in the clue from is titled THE GOLDENEYE STORY,” another commented.

“It’s absolutely ridiculous that neither Paolo’s nor Steven’s responses were accepted,” a third wrote.

By the end of the round, only $400 separated first and second place. Pasco had $4,000. Olson moved to second with $3,600. Uddin, a social media moderator and Ph.D. candidate, had $2,200.

Olson found the first DD in Double Jeopardy. He had the lead with $7,800 and wagered $4,000. In “Let’s Go To The Park,” the clue read, “The world’s tallest animal is so common there that Nyerere National Park has been nicknamed this, punning on a dino-franchise.” “What is Giraffic Park?” was the correct response. Olson improved to $11,800.

He continued to dominate the round, surpassing Pasco by a lot. Olson then found the last DD. With $13,400 in his bank, he wagered $2,000. In “Your Prime Number’s Up,” the clue was “The highest 2-digit prime, it needs 4 syllables in French & 5 letters in Roman numerals.” At the last second, he guessed, “What is 97?” and moved to $15,400.

Olson led with $17,400 by the end of the round. Pasco had $9,800. Uddin was in last place with $4,600. Could Final Jeopardy be Pasco’s saving grace?

The category for Final Jeopardy was “Slogans.” “After adopting ‘Very Nice’ in tourism ads, an official of this country said its people, ‘jokes to the contrary, are some of the nicest,’” was the clue. The correct response was Kazakhstan, a reference from the movie, Borat.

Uddin wrote, “What is Canada?” She was wrong and dropped down to $2,600 after wagering $2,000. Pasco wrote, “What is Kazakhstan? (I liiiiike!)).” He was right and wagered $7,601, giving him $17,401, $1 more than Olson’s current total. However, Olson also got the answer right and wagered $2,202, giving him a final total of $19,602. He became the new winner, taking down Pasco. Olson will return on Monday, September 22.
