Ajith Kumar breaks silence on Karur tragedy: “One person cannot bear the blame alone”

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

The devastating incident in Karur this September, which left several lives lost and many injured during a political event attended by Vijay, continues to echo through Tamil Nadu. In his recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, actor and racing enthusiast Ajith Kumar shared a thoughtful take on the tragedy, urging society to see it not as the fault of one man but as a collective failure.

“That individual alone is not responsible. We are all responsible for it, and even the media has a part to play,” Ajith said, referring to the way public gatherings and celebrity events often spiral out of control. He pointed out that society has become “obsessed with gathering,” and this obsession must stop before it costs more lives.

Ajith’s comments mark a rare moment of self-awareness from one of Tamil cinema’s most private stars. He spoke calmly but firmly about how the culture of mass adoration can quickly turn dangerous when boundaries are blurred between admiration and frenzy. “There should be a way to express love and excitement, but it has to be within limits,” he added.

The actor also highlighted the importance of understanding the risks that come with fame. “As an actor, like many others, I work hard, stay away from family for long periods, and often get injured on set. We do it out of love for our fans,” he said, adding that this very bond must be expressed responsibly.

Hero Worship and the Reflection on Cinema

Ajith’s words come at a time when the line between film and politics in Tamil Nadu has become increasingly thin. Overcrowding at public events, competitive displays of loyalty, and the urge to show fan strength have become common. The Karur tragedy, according to Ajith, should be a moment of reflection for everyone involved.

“Why is it happening only in theatres or at events linked to cinema personalities?” he asked. “When things go wrong, it projects the entire film industry in a bad light.” His message, while measured, carries an unmistakable urgency. It calls for a change in how fandom is expressed and how media amplifies that spectacle.

Reports from the investigation into the Karur incident indicate that mismanagement, overcrowding, and inadequate control were major factors that led to the tragedy. Ajith’s response, therefore, is not just a reaction to public sentiment but a wider commentary on accountability. His stance underlines the need for awareness, restraint, and respect for safety, both from fans and those who lead them.

Looking Ahead: A New Chapter with Adhik Ravichandran

While addressing the tragedy, Ajith also spoke about his professional journey. He confirmed that he will be joining hands again with filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran after their recent collaboration Good Bad Ugly. The official announcement of the new project will be made in January 2026.

Director Adhik had earlier mentioned that while Good Bad Ugly catered primarily to Ajith’s fans, their next project would reach a broader audience. This upcoming venture is expected to mark a new phase in Ajith’s career, bringing together his mass appeal and his growing desire to explore deeper, more universal stories.

Ajith’s openness in this interview reflects a side of him that fans rarely see. By addressing the Karur tragedy head-on, he has reminded the industry, the media, and the audience that empathy and self-reflection are as vital as success and celebration. His words serve as both a reality check and a call for change within a culture that often confuses admiration with worship.

bitchy | Mail: Is Queen Elizabeth to blame for how Prince Andrew turned out?

by jummy84 October 26, 2025
written by jummy84

The big Prince Andrew “news” breaking last night is that Windsor Castle removed Andrew’s banner – a banner with his coat of arms – from the display in St. George’s Chapel. The removal of a royal banner is apparently “typically only removed in cases of high treason or rebellions against the Crown.” This is very similar to Andrew “relinquishing” his honors, like Order of the Garter. Royalists insist that these demotions mean something huge because Andrew loves this kind of flummery. When really, the Windsors decided to remove a banner rather than remove a sexual predator.

Speaking of, after days of mainstream political outcry about Andrew, everything is now being quietly taken care of behind the scenes. The Starmer government has shut down a debate about Andrew, his finances, his Royal Lodge lease and his crimes. Hilariously, these are not the only machinations from Buckingham Palace. The palace has decided to throw Queen Elizabeth II right under the bus. Blame Andrew on QEII, she was the one who indulged him! I mean, they’re not wrong?? From Jan Moir’s Mail column:

Is the late Queen Elizabeth to blame for the horror of Prince Andrew? Did she spoil him so much that he grew up convinced of his own specialness, marinated in arrogance, unable to navigate his cushioned world of privilege with even a shred of humility, decency or common sense? Many mothers have blind spots when it comes to their favourite sons, sparing the rod and spoiling the child to such an extent that they unwittingly raise a monster.

Did that happen here? I’m only asking because there must be some explanation for Prince Andrew’s unique loathsomeness; some way of groping through his thicket of thick, his unremitting, clotted arrogance to understand his character and motivation. Given his elevated position in society, Andrew could have become friends with anyone, but he chose to move in a dark world of seedy billionaires, sex offenders, Chinese spies, wicked paedophiles, she-pimps and God knows who else.

Down in the murk at this unsavoury end of an immoral universe his playmates were powerful, clever and wily people who encouraged this pompous dolt to believe he was powerful and clever, too. The reality is that he was only ever a useful idiot to them; a man who was used and abused – and who went on to use and abuse others for his own pleasure.

I am legally obligated at this point to say that Prince Andrew denies the allegations that Virginia Giuffre made against him in her posthumous autobiography and elsewhere. Yet the grand old Duke of York, as we now don’t know him, has demonstrably lied and lied about so many things that who could possibly believe him now? Perhaps not even his own mother.

Survey after survey reveals that people want Andrew officially stripped of his titles by Parliament and booted out of his grace-and-favour Royal Lodge, along with his ridiculous Freebiana of a wife. Day by day Andrew is slipping away from public view, sunk beneath the weight of his disgrace, now facing a police investigation and possible further humiliation.

Yet how did we get here? Even by the blackest standards of the monarchy’s black history, while trotting out on the black meadows of royal blackness, do black sheep come any blacker than Andrew?

They may have their faults, but neither his two brothers nor his sister come anywhere close to Prince Andrew on the royal ghastly-o-meter. Searching for his good qualities is like panning for gold in a sewer – try as you might, you are only ever going to end up with dung in your sieve. Surely part of the problem must be that no matter what he did, Queen Elizabeth could see no wrong in her beloved Andrew. Most mothers have a favourite son, and he was undoubtedly hers – then, now and forevermore.

[From The Daily Mail]

Moir keeps going and going, but you get the idea. While I don’t think QEII is solely responsible for Andrew’s depravity, I absolutely blame her for indulging him, protecting him and covering up his crimes. QEII and her courtiers used every tool at their disposal to ensure that mummy’s favorite never had to face consequences or even a check on his behavior. This is all because Andrew never actually broke the Windsor omerta, he didn’t break any of the rules which really matter to them. Which should be a larger conversation too: why weren’t Andrew’s crimes a bigger deal within the institution and within his family?

‘Men’s Egos Need Women To Blame’: Fans Defend Anushka Sharma After She Faces Backlash Over Virat Kohli’s ODI Ducks

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Recently, an Indian cricketer registered consecutive ODI ducks against Australia for the first time in his career, and his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, is once again facing unwarranted criticism. Since Virat Kohli and Anushka made their relationship public and later married in 2017, she has often been blamed for his on-field struggles. Despite years passing, social media trolls continue targeting her after Virat’s recent failures, holding her responsible for his performance. However, Anushka’s supporters have strongly defended her, condemning the unfair backlash and emphasising that an athlete’s performance should never be linked to their partner’s personal life or presence.

Virat Kohli Fans Hold Anushka Sharma Responsible for Consecutive Ducks

A quick search for Anushka’s name on social media reveals countless memes and posts unfairly linking her to Virat’s performance. Many of these posts carry captions such as: “I blame Anushka Sharma for his failure,” and “Virat Kohli is a living example of how having a wrong partner can completely destroy your career. He might feel better about being turned into a “gentleman”. But it came at what cost?” Several others also blamed her for somehow doing ‘irreparable damage’ to his career. One horrendously even wished for her death, writing, “If God is real she died today in London.”

Anushka Sharma’s Fans Rally to Defend Her

However, Anushka’s fans were quick to push back, calling out the blatant misogyny behind such remarks. Many took to social media to defend her dignity and denounce the unfair blame. One Threads user commented, “It’s cute how men’s fragile egos need a woman to blame every time their favorite player has a bad day.” Another pointed out, “That girl has been getting trolled since their dating era. These people just want to blame others for the poor performance of their favs.” One X user wrote, “Shame on Kohli fans for dragging his wife Anushka Sharma after his second consecutive duck.”

Some fans have speculated that the growing scrutiny could be one reason Virat and Anushka decided to move their family to London. For those unaware, the couple tied the knot in 2017 after years of dating and are proud parents to daughter Vamika and son Akaay. Known for valuing their privacy, they prefer to keep their personal life away from the spotlight. Anushka, who was last seen in the 2018 film Zero, has not announced any new projects since her much-anticipated sports drama Chakda ‘Xpress was reportedly shelved, leaving fans eagerly awaiting her return to the screen.
