bitchy | A heckler called JD Vance a ‘couch f–ker’ at a stunt in DC’s Union Station

Washington DC is still being overrun by National Guardsmen and federal agents, and it’s just as pathetic and horrible as anyone can imagine. Apparently, the federal takeover of DC is crushing local businesses, especially bars, restaurants and anyone dealing with the tourist economy. Washington is being occupied by federal forces and no one feels safe at all. None of this is good from an optics perspective either – a huge show of force in an American city reeks of Trump’s thin-skinned weakness and small flaccid energy. Speaking of, Stephen Miller, JD Vance and the alcoholic predator/Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth decided to “treat” National Guardsmen to a meal at Shake Shack in Union Station. They were protested and heckled, and someone shouted, “oh look, it’s the couch f–ker!”

Well done to that guy, and to all of the protesters and hecklers. What Miller, Vance and Hegseth were doing was actually frightening though. They basically went outside, begged protestors to do something, and then used those protests to justify the hostile takeover and occupation of our nation’s capital. Miller’s rant (below) made my skin crawl. He looks, sounds and acts like a man who murders people in his spare time. I feel so bad for Washingtonians – stay strong and watch your backs.

Stephen Miller: “All these demonstrators that you’ve seen out here in recent days, all these elderly white hippies, they’re not part of the city and never have been … we’re gonna ignore these stupid white hippies that all need to go home and take a nap because they’re all over… pic.twitter.com/v7Bj4pfEPW

bitchy | Marca: King Charles thinks the Wales family’s move to Forest Lodge is stupid

by jummy84 August 21, 2025
written by jummy84

There’s been some fascinating backlash to the Prince and Princess of Wales’s planned move to Forest Lodge. It’s reminded me, in a way, of the backlash to Kate’s “cancerfree” video last September. Within the video, Kate announced that she was now “cancerfree,” and then Kensington Palace tried to block reporters from using that word. The video itself was nonsensical, like a hazy commercial for an MAO inhibitor. At the time, I wondered why there was so much discontent over the video, then someone let the cat out of the bad – Buckingham Palace was very displeased with it, and sources close to King Charles noted that Charles and Camilla would never be filmed kissing each other on a beach because “it’s distinctly un-regal.” Another well-placed royal insider noted: “All that lying round, hugging and kissing – they’re not soppy teenagers. It felt manipulative. It’s the sort of thing that Meghan would make. All the time, effort and expense put into making the video could have been much better spent elsewhere. Why not visit other women being treated for cancer? That’s what Diana would have done.”

I bring that up because I feel like we’re just days away from finding Charles and Camilla’s fingerprints all over the backlash to Forest Lodge. Not that I even believe that C&C need to orchestrate anything at this point – royal reporters are clearly already furious with Will and Kate’s laziness and their office’s history of lies and obfuscation. But I wonder if C&C’s courtiers have given the go-ahead to attack. Speaking of, Marca reports that Charles thought the move to Forest Lodge was stupid from the word go.

The tension within the British Royal Family shows no signs of easing up, though this time it has nothing to do with Prince Harry. Instead, it’s Prince William and Kate Middleton who aren’t on the same page as King Charles III when it comes to picking their “forever home”.

While William and Kate are seemingly set on making the move, the decision hasn’t gone down well with King Charles. It isn’t the first time the King has disagreed with the couple over a move, as earlier reports suggested they were considering moving to Fort Belvedere but plans fell through.

The belief is that Charles doesn’t believe William and Kate need another property as they already have three – Kensington Palace, Anmer Hall and Adelaide Cottage. Charles feels that another move wouldn’t go down well with taxpayers and those opposed to the monarchy.

Despite Charles’ opposition, it looks as though Prince William is intent on going through with the move. As a result, two families are being evicted from their homes, which has raised eyebrows and created some bad publicity for the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Now faced with backlash, King Charles has no intention of getting involved in the matter, as he feels the situation could have been avoided had the couple listened to his advice.

[From Marca]

My thing is… why did Charles and QEII make such a point of giving Will and Kate such a small house (Adelaide Cottage) in 2022? They were already begging for a much larger and grander property back in 2021-22. They were never going to be happy with Adelaide. Unless the whole point of Adelaide was William and Charles agreeing to sideline Kate and give her a separate, out-of-the-way cottage where William could come and go and his movements would be largely hidden. That being said, I absolutely believe that Charles thinks the move to Forest Lodge is stupid as hell, and he probably did warn them that they were inviting backlash.

bitchy | Royal butler: In the old days, ‘Kate and Harry would be off doing stuff together’

There’s yet another royal book coming out from a royal sycophant. This one is by Grant Harrold, who served as King Charles’s butler at Highgrove from 2004-2011. Harrold is currently in a domestic partnership with a man who still works as a gardener for Charles as well. The book is called The Royal Butler: My remarkable life of royal service. Obviously, the only thing people care about is Harrold’s gossip about Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate. This guy has been milking his “remembrances” and gossip opinions for years by the way – he’s quoted with some regularity by the tabloids, and he usually has an anti-Sussex slant. Sounds like his book has the same bias, at least judging from the exclusive excerpt published in the Telegraph. Some highlights:

Charles’s second wedding day: The day itself, in April 2005, was the “happiest” Harrold says he ever saw the King. “At the end of the festivities, Charles and Camilla were catching a flight to head straight to Birkhall [on the Balmoral estate],” he writes in the book. “We all went outside to wave them off and laughed as we saw William and Harry had decorated their car with ‘Just Married’. As they drove off through the arches to cheers, the boys raced after the car.”

Harry’s account of Charles & Camilla’s engagement: It’s a scene that seems to contradict the account of that period in Prince Harry’s book, Spare. When it was published in 2023, tearing a hole in the Royal family which has never been repaired, it was the then Duchess of Cornwall who came out worse in the Prince’s evisceration of his family. In Spare, he told how he and William begged their father not to marry her, writing: “We support you, we said. We endorse Camilla, we said. ‘Just please don’t marry her. Just be together, Pa.’ He didn’t answer. But she answered. Straight away. Shortly after our private summits with her, she began to play the long game, a campaign aimed at marriage and eventually the Crown (with Pa’s blessing, we presumed).”

Harrold claims Charles, Camilla, William and Harry got along: “The four of them, I promise you, got on so well,” he says. “And that’s why I don’t understand what Harry’s said, I really don’t understand. Because I saw them. I saw them having dinners together, I saw them having drinks together, I saw them going to parties together.” As Harrold remembers it there was “no animosity” on display. The relationship he observed between Charles and his sons doesn’t reflect the one Harry has portrayed either. “The King used to do things to make them laugh and giggle,” he says.

Harry got along with Kate: Among the saddest aspects of this era for the Royal family is surely the apparent breakdown in the bond that used to exist between the two princes. Back then, Harrold recalls how William, Catherine and Harry used to be a little gang. “They involved him. He used to go out with Kate. William would be away and Kate and Harry would be off doing stuff together. They’d go shopping together, they’d go to pubs together. […] I think when people say ‘oh he was left out’, he really wasn’t. But also he was with Chelsy [Davy, the Prince’s former girlfriend]. Chelsy was always around. And Chelsy and Kate got on really well.” The brothers were “so close”. “The banter was great. They used to go around being silly with each other and winding each other up, jumping out at their dad from corners and making him laugh. It was just like a family.”

Harrold watched the Sussex wedding from afar, and managed to lip-read: Since leaving Highgrove, Harrold has often watched on as a pundit. He reported live from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding in 2018, dipping between interviews and the picnic blanket where Stooks was installed. As he was still working for the family he was among those invited to watch from the lawn in front of St George’s Chapel and brought Harrold along as his guest. Watching the family file out of the ceremony, which included the famous 14-minute sermon by Bishop Michael Curry, Harrold claims in the book to have overheard a few choice words on the lips of the late Duke of Edinburgh. “Once all the formalities were over, we watched as the happy couple, and then the other members of the Royal family, filed out of the chapel,” he writes. “When Prince Philip came out he turned to the Queen and said, ‘Thank f— that’s over.’”

[From The Telegraph]

The royalists are already crowing that Harrold has definitively contradicted Prince Harry’s account of his own feelings and his devastation at his father’s second marriage. I don’t know, guys. Should we believe Harry’s descriptions of his own conversations and feelings, or should we believe some guy who used to work for King Charles who wants to sell a particular revisionist history? Should we believe the guy who believes he overheard Prince Philip say those words after Harry’s wedding?

As for the talk about Harry being close to Kate, and Harry constantly hanging out with Will and Kate… that was one of the most surprising aspects of Spare, for me at least. That in their 20s and early 30s, William, Harry and Kate really weren’t hanging out that much, at least according to Harry’s narrative. I also got the impression from Spare that Harry left a lot of stuff out about his “lost years,” his pre-Meghan years, especially when it came to Kate and the Middletons. He didn’t even mention the years-long attempt to put him with Pippa. I also think Harry was trying to be a gentleman, especially about Kate and what she was really like back then.

bitchy | Royalist: The Waleses’ move to an emotional-support mansion is ‘tone-deaf’

Tom Sykes was and still is The Daily Beast’s Royalist columnist and European editor, but he’s branched out with a Royalist Substack, where he’s started to move beyond the palace’s talking points and his briefings from Prince William’s most incandescent “friends.” Well, Sykes covered the Prince and Princess of Wales’s planned move to Forest Lodge, and he actually pinpointed why the palace briefing about the move is so infuriating.

At a time when millions across Britain are struggling to pay rent, heat their homes, or secure a doctor’s appointment, the Prince and Princess of Wales have announced they are moving into a newly renovated £16 million ($20.3 million) mansion in Windsor Great Park, with sources saying they are doing so to safeguard their emotional wellbeing.

The property in question, Forest Lodge, is a secluded eight-bedroom Grade II-listed estate with sweeping views across Berkshire and London. Renovations are already underway, funded privately by the couple through William’s Duchy of Cornwall income, a £1 billion ($1.27 billion) portfolio of land and assets that has been enriching royal heirs for centuries.

The move was briefed by Kensington Palace as a “fresh start” for the family to heal from a difficult few years; the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, and Princess Catherine’s own health worries. Outside the royal bubble, many were left speechless by the gall of it all. Millions of Britons are also emerging from a “brutal” few years. Most of them don’t respond to adversity by moving into a multimillion-pound mansion with period features and expansive private grounds. That the Waleses would position this luxury upgrade as a form of restorative therapy speaks volumes, not just about how far removed they are from the public mood, but how tone-deaf the Palace has become in framing these decisions.

It’s not the move that is rankling, it’s the absurdity of presenting a 328-year-old eight-bedroom lodge as a necessary crutch for emotional survival.

The family first moved to Windsor in 2022, settling into Adelaide Cottage to be closer to the late queen and to allow the children, George, Charlotte and Louis, to enjoy a more private, countryside upbringing. The current home has no live-in staff. Nor, apparently, will the much larger Forest Lodge. Which rather begs the question: if you didn’t need staff and you have four bedrooms, why do you now need eight? For a couple who seem keen on staying relatable, the spinning of this house move lands somewhere between baffling and plain stupid.

William has spent the past year casting himself as a reformer who wants to make the monarchy “fit for purpose.” But it’s hard to imagine anything less modern or relatable than announcing, during the worst cost-of-living crisis in decades, that you’re moving house to emotionally reset and your new house happens to be a manor on Crown land worth north of £16 million.

The late queen might well have approved the move itself—kings and queens do live in palaces, not cottages, after all—but would never have had the gall to pitch such a move as a therapeutic necessity. Her reign, for all its stiff upper lip flaws, was defined by discipline and duty. William’s emerging version of kingship appears far more personal, driven by private need and family comfort, and to hell with the PR optics.

No one denies the last 18 months have been hard for the Waleses. But the idea that the solution to coping with grief, illness and transition is a £16 million “forever home” with woodland views is grotesquely out of touch. You guys want a bigger house! Just own it.

[From The Royalist Substack]

LMAO, let’s see if “friends close to Prince William” arrange a briefing now. “Presenting a 328-year-old eight-bedroom lodge as a necessary crutch for emotional survival” and “That the Waleses would position this luxury upgrade as a form of restorative therapy speaks volumes, not just about how far removed they are from the public mood, but how tone-deaf the Palace has become in framing these decisions.” Well done. While I agree that the framing is asinine and hilariously out-of-touch, that isn’t the only problem with this move. It’s beyond clear that William is using this move to proclaim that he’ll 100% live in Forest Lodge forever… so that by the time he becomes king, people are going to be BEGGING him to live in a palace or castle. There’s a hint of a longer-term strategy at play here, and I doubt that William came up with it. But yes, it’s amazingly privileged to argue that you and your wife need an emotional-support mansion (to compete with your brother’s Montecito mansion, sob).
