bitchy | Prince William plans to take his Earthshot Prize to India next year

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer actually traveled to Brazil for a few days last week. He attended a few events for Prince William’s Earthshot Prize, and then both men traveled to Belem for the first two days of the COP30 conference. PM Starmer was back in England in time to attend the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday night. It’s widely believed that Starmer and William traveled back to the UK together, but William still skipped the Festival of Remembrance. Lazy, lazy, lazy. Well, according to Kensington Palace, William and Starmer have a great relationship, and William is whinging to Starmer about how the government needs to “do more” on the environment. There isn’t an eyeroll big enough. Some highlights from Roya Nikkhah’s big post-Earthshot clean-up, with some exclusive info about next year’s Earthshot Prize ceremony.

Big Boy Billy takes on big business: The Prince of Wales has criticised big businesses for “falling short” and lacking “courage” in their attempts to tackle climate change. Prince William, who spent five days last week in Brazil for his Earthshot prize awards and the Cop30 climate conference, is deeply frustrated by the private sector’s apathy on the environment.

William raised concerns, bless his heart: A royal source said: “During his visit to Brazil, the Prince of Wales raised his concern about the lack of meaningful support from global businesses in tackling the climate crisis when he met with the prime minister and the secretary of state for energy security and net zero. He believes that major companies are still not doing nearly enough. He wants to see bold leadership in the private sector and, honestly, many businesses are still reluctant to get involved. Even when some are making genuine progress, they’re rarely talking about it. There are positives, companies such as Ikea, Uber and [the food giant] Compass Group are showing real leadership and deserve credit, investing in Earthshot prize finalists. But far too many others are still falling short and it’s time for more of them to step up to the plate.”

William & Starmer: The prince has developed a “warm relationship” with Starmer, the first prime minister to attend William’s environmental awards since they began in 2021, and urged the government to encourage more action from the private sector on green issues.

Next year’s Earthshot will go to India: William plans to take next year’s Earthshot prize to India, in a sign of his determination to engage with the world’s biggest polluters. India, the most populous nation in the world with more than 1.4 billion people, is the world’s third-biggest polluter after China and America. The country is responsible for about 8 per cent of global carbon emissions, with coal as its primary power source, but has set a goal of reducing emissions by 50 per cent by 2030 and for the economy to be net zero by 2070. Neither Narendra Modi, the Indian prime minister, nor President Xi of China attended the Cop30 leaders’ conference last week.

Willy will go to China too: A royal source said: “This is about bringing people on the journey. We always said we’d like to take Earthshot to every corner of the planet. There are so many interesting things happening in India in the sector and the prince is looking forward to seeing it.” The Sunday Times has also revealed that William wants to take the prize to China in the next five years, despite the UK’s strained relations with the world’s biggest polluter, in marked contrast to his father’s approach. The King has never visited mainland China because of his views on the regime’s treatment of Tibet and its human rights record. William, however, is said to believe that you “can’t exclude a big chunk of the planet when thinking about fighting for its future”. Sources close to William said he had a “renewed sense of purpose” about taking the prize to China.

[From The Times]

I actually forgot that Charles has never stepped foot in China. That’s a bit crazy, especially considering how well-traveled he was as Prince of Wales. As for William’s plan to go to India next year… lol. He is really going to march into India and try to lecture and bully the whole country, meanwhile India has become a thriving economic powerhouse and vibrant democracy with no need for an ugly white savior, especially one from a member of a supposed royal family which looted many of India’s treasures. William should arrive in India with the Kohinoor diamond in hand before he lectures anyone on the environment. As for all of the stuff about Basher Billy lecturing businesses about the environment – he just comes across as so deeply unlikeable, unaccomplished and pitiful.

bitchy | Mail: Duchess Meghan didn’t wear a poppy because they’re not widely available!

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Over the weekend, the photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attending Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party went viral in a big way. You could see, in real time, as the deranged community tested out talking points. Harry and Meghan were “bad” no matter what, obviously, but why were they bad in this particular instance? Something about “how dare they go to a party on the night before Remembrance Sunday.” An abundance of angst about the Sussexes hobnobbing with Kardashians, A-listers and billionaires. A general unhappiness that Harry and Meghan were outside, when they should have their schedules overseen by the palace! Finally, there seemed to be a consensus talking point: Meghan is wrong – “bad” even – for NOT wearing a poppy for Remembrance. There was a sudden uptick on “the missing poppy” on social media and the British tabloids. First off, poppy-wearing isn’t really a thing here in America. And as many have pointed out, when Meghan wore a poppy in a November video last year, she was criticized for that too. It’s almost as if they’re just mad that Meghan exists, and the reasons why are just fill-in-the-blank. In any case, the Daily Mail had a hilarious exclusive about why Meghan didn’t wear a poppy.

Meghan Markle did not wear a poppy to Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party because they are not widely available in America, sources close to the Duchess have told the Daily Mail.

Meghan attended the glitzy James Bond-themed party at Jeff Bezos’s $165million mansion on Remembrance weekend with the commemorative symbol noticeably missing from her glamorous outfit.

Harry, meanwhile, had one pinned to his tuxedo, which he obtained after donating to the appeal during his recent visit to Canada, where he met with some of the country’s oldest veterans.

Sources have told the Daily Mail Meghan was unable to visibly honour the war dead as poppies are not widely available in the States, unlike in Commonwealth countries.

The mother-of-two, 44, has previously been pictured wearing a poppy during Remembrance alongside her veteran husband Harry, who served two Army tours in Afghanistan. Last year, the Sussexes both wore poppies fastened to their lapels as they published a joint video about online violence against children. While in 2023 the Duchess wore a poppy brooch as she and Harry visited United States Navy SEALs in San Diego.

People across the globe can purchase a poppy from the Royal British Legion’s website, but would have to pay £28 for postage to get it sent to Montecito.

[From The Daily Mail]

While it’s true that most American stores don’t have poppies on demand, it’s easy enough to just order one or a dozen online. Amazon literally had hundreds of options, and poppy pins are also for sale on eBay and Etsy. Apparently the American Legion sells them too. My point? Availability wasn’t the issue. Meghan just chose not to wear a poppy, probably because she understands at this point that she’s damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t. Imagine the headlines if she had worn a poppy to Kris Jenner’s birthday party – they would be raging about “how dare she wear a poppy to such a superficial event!” Anyway, at least I get to repost the party photos again! They looked great!

bitchy | Princess Kate repeated a Catherine Walker coat for a solo Armistice Day event

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

The Princess of Wales was out today on a scheduled event for Armistice Day (Veterans Day here in America). She visited the National Memorial Arboretum, and this was her first solo event in a month or longer. Kate was the “senior royal” sent to observe a moment of silence for veterans. This job usually goes to a “blood royal,” but there are so few of them around these days, this event is left to the married-ins. Um, where the hell is William?

Kate wore a repeat – she’s worn this Catherine Walker coat to Remembrance Sundays in years past. I call this one her Sgt. Pepper coat because of the tassels and chest embroidery. During her outing on Sunday at the Cenotaph, I noted that Kate’s eyebrows look somewhat crazy right now. You can see it again in these photos. Is she just filling them out too much? What’s going on there?

It’s also noteworthy that Queen Camilla was out this morning too. Cam stole Kate’s thunder on Armistice Day! Camilla visited the London Paddington train station as part of the ‘Poppies to Paddington’ event.

bitchy | Palace insiders: The Sussexes are ‘so tacky’ for attending Kris Jenner’s party

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Kris Jenner did several photo dumps from her 70th birthday party, which looked like a really fun night. Ostentatious? Sure. But rich celebrities are going to throw parties, and it’s not like any of it came from American taxpayers. Speaking of, all of the hand-wringing over the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s attendance at Kris Jenner’s party is leaving me cold. Meghan and Harry are friendly with the K-J clan and we’ve seen that for years. Kris’s party was full of A-listers like Oprah, Tyler Perry, Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Jay-Z, all of whom are also friendly with Harry and Meghan. The Sussexes had every reason to be invited, and every reason to attend. Their attendance did a lot to blow up the British media’s narratives about “no one in LA likes the Sussexes” and “A-listers snub the Sussexes,” narratives which were just being circulated anew LAST WEEK. Now we’re getting a return to another huffy narrative, straight from Prince William and Kensington Palace: Harry and Meghan are “tacky” for attending a party with A-listers and billionaires. William would never!

Palace insiders are appalled by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s grinning appearance at Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday bash — and say it shows just why the couple should not be accepted back in the royal fold.

“It’s so tacky,” said one palace insider who works with the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex dressed up in black tie and joined a bevy of Hollywood stars at Jenner’s party, thrown by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and wife Lauren Sánchez at their $165 million Beverly Hills estate Saturday night. They were joined by celebs including Beyoncé and Jay Z, Martha Stewart, Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey, Paris Hilton, Adele, all the Kardashians — and Jenner’s plastic surgeon, Dr Steven Levine, who is responsible for her astonishing facelift.

“It truly shows that Harry is so far removed from the rest of the family. These people may be stars in America, but the pure ostentatiousness is at odds with what Prince William is trying to do with his life and the monarchy,” the insider said.

Their appearance also shows just how entrenched the Sussexes are within Hollywood, as Bezos’s company is making Markle’s upcoming movie, “Close Personal Friends.” She will play herself in the romantic comedy and landed the cameo as she has a “connection” with the filmmakers, sources said. The movie is being made by Amazon MGM, which is owned by Bezos, and produced by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. Markle filmed her cameo last week, but we are told it doesn’t mean the former “Suits” star is making a real return to acting.

“That’s overstating things,” said an industry source.

Despite the couple having gone Hollywood, the insider admitted that some palace officials think Harry and Markle should be brought back to the royal family to help when Harry’s estranged brother, Prince William, eventually takes the throne.

However, the insider said, “William has made it clear that he has a plan for being king, and he has true class. I think he will look at the younger royals to help, including Prince Edward’s children.”

[From Page Six]

How dare the Sussexes attend an A-list party and successfully network and enjoy themselves among friends! That’s not the classy royal way! The classy royal way is to pay settlements to your rape victim! The classy royal way is paying celebrities like Kylie Minogue and David Beckham to fly on private jets around the world for your vanity environmental bullsh-t! The classy royal way is to beg British celebrities to perform at your coronation, but all of them refused so you had to hire two American artists AND make an appearance on American Idol! They’re not mad that the Sussexes are “tacky,” they’re mad that Harry and Meghan are rolling with the biggest celebrities in the world, full stop.

bitchy | Martha Stewart: my publicist ‘knows where all the bodies are buried’

by jummy84 November 11, 2025
written by jummy84

As was covered yesterday, the Sussexes attended Kris Jenner’s James Bond-themed 70th birthday over the weekend (along with everyone else in Hollywood). While the predictable subset of salty folks were in an uproar specifically over the Sussexes’ presence, it seems I was in a party of one of, well, not uproar, but rather intense perplexity over an adult holding a themed bday bash. My knee-jerk reaction to that is, it’s a bit ridiculous. Am I being a total spoil sport? One of the guests that night undoubtedly has an opinion on this, and that is OG lifestyle/hospitality queen Martha Stewart. What say you, Stewart — are themed bday parties for adults a good thing, or more like being petted on TV? One thing Miss Martha does seem to be in favor of is a cheeky toast. Before flying out West, Martha presented her longtime publicist and friend Susan Magrino with a Lifetime Achievement Award at a fete hosted by the International Association of Culinary Professionals. Her remarks included some choice comments:

Martha Stewart has never been one to mince words — especially when it comes to the people who’ve helped build her empire.

During a recent appearance at the International Association of Culinary Professionals event in Brooklyn last week, the 84-year-old lifestyle icon turned the spotlight on her longtime publicist and close friend, Susan Magrino.

“There was building. There was rebuilding a business. There’s also been my boyfriends that she’s kept out of Page Six,” Stewart said to the audience with a grin per Page Six, adding that Magrino “knows where all the bodies are buried, in Turkey Hill and in Bedford, and elsewhere.” The comment drew laughter from the crowd, but it also showed the deep trust and loyalty between the two women. Stewart even shared that she calls Magrino every day to “keep her on her toes.”

According to the outlet, Max Tucci, owner of Tuccis and Delmonico’s, introduced Stewart before she presented Magrino with the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award, surprising her with the honor. Stewart went on to praise Magrino’s work ethic, recalling how she once advised her to take a family loan to launch her agency. “She paid her dad back within a year, and I congratulated her and I was very proud of her,” Stewart said, noting that Magrino’s business has since “expanded exponentially.”

Of course, Stewart couldn’t resist slipping in a playful jab at her friend’s culinary skills, quipping, “She is not the cook, however… maybe after the 40 years alongside me, she’ll take up cooking and become proficient at that.”

In a recent E! News interview, Stewart shifted from industry accolades to her other area of expertise — holiday hosting. The homemaking icon advised that preparation is everything. “Be careful about being organized for your holiday entertaining,” she said, warning that waiting until the last minute can make the season “unbelievably difficult.” Stewart also suggested ordering your turkey early and sticking to recipes you already know work. “Don’t experiment on your guests,” she added with a laugh.

[From Parade via AOL]

Look, if you think Martha Stewart will refrain from getting a dig in at the person she’s there to honor — even when that person has been a veritable lifesaver time and time again — then you’re the fool! Of course Martha had to knock Susan’s cooking while bestowing her with a lifetime achievement award at a culinary event. After all, a (not so) subtle dash of snark is Martha’s (not so) secret ingredient! Condescension was always going to be baked into her words of tribute, along with hints of making the moment all about Martha instead of Susan, like the line about Susan knowing “where all the bodies are buried.” Do you think the audience was laughing genuinely or awkwardly at that? The bit about the “boyfriends that she’s kept out of Page Six” was another obvious attention-getter. (Sidenote: Martha really pays attention to what the NY tabloids say about her!) At this point, I highly doubt Susan was surprised by the tone of Martha’s remarks. As Martha herself noted, they’ve been through worse, and Susan continues to be there for Martha, even when she needlessly stirs up decades-old feuds. May we all be so lucky to have a damage-control maven in our corner.

PS — “Don’t experiment on your guests.” As someone who’s been on the unfortunate end of this equation, I beseech you to heed Martha’s advice.

bitchy | The Sussexes attended Kris Jenner’s 70th b-day party at Jeff Bezos’ mansion

Three years ago (almost exactly), Prince William raged and screamed about how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “like the Kardashians” because they did a Netflix docuseries. William and those close to him were using “Kardashian” as a pejorative, like Harry and Meghan should be ashamed of being associated with the Kardashian family (several of whom are billionaires), or ashamed of being “reality stars” or whatever (like the Windsors aren’t the trashiest reality show ever).

I bring this up because Meghan and Harry actually ARE friendly with the Kardashian-Jenners. Meghan sent As Ever gift baskets to various Kardashians and Harry is reportedly friendly with Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble. The K-Js even posed with Doria Ragland at a local charity event a few years back. Oh, and Emma Grede has clearly created an alliance with Meghan, and Grede is heavily invested in Kim’s Skims. Those are just some of the many connections between the two families. Which explains why Harry and Meghan were in LA on Saturday night for Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party, which was hosted by Jeff Bezos at his $165 million LA mansion. The party had a “James Bond” theme, because Bezos now owns the Bond franchise, get it?

Meghan’s look is reportedly Balenciaga. I like the general idea of it – black turtleneck, long black skirt with a thigh-high split and big, dangly earrings. The flash photography revealed that the blacks don’t match and that’s irritating to me! But I’m sure it looked fine at the party. It definitely looks like Harry and Meghan continue to nurture friendships with some of the biggest high-rollers in LA. But… but… I thought everyone in LA hates them? I thought they had alienated every important person in Hollywood? LOL.

Meanwhile, Tom Sykes whined on his Royalist Substack that the “optics” of Harry and Meghan attending a huge celebrity bash makes them look bad, because the left-behind Windsors were doing Remembrance events. First of all, Harry did like five Remembrance events in a row in Canada and everyone in Prince William’s office threw tantrums over that as well. Secondly, Harry and Meghan stepped out in LA on the same f–king night that William – the whole-ass Prince of Wales and heir to the throne – was too lazy to attend the Festival of Remembrance. “The Sussexes look superficial!” Yeah, well, William looks lazy, disrespectful, childish and stupid. So there.

bitchy | Princess Kate repeated a Catherine Walker coat for Remembrance Sunday

I used to get mad when the Princess of Wales repeated a black coat for Remembrance Sunday. It felt like, hey, this is one of the big dates on your calendar, just buy a new black coat. But honestly, Kate now has so many black coats and they only get pulled out for Remembrance events and the occasional funeral, so why not just stick with the pieces she already has? That’s what she did this year – she re-wore a Catherine Walker coat, the same one she wore for Remembrance Sunday in 2022. She did change the way she styled it though – she added a prissy, Victorian-looking lace ruffle and jabot, which I assume is part of the dress (or Victorian dressing gown) she’s wearing underneath the coat. Kate also wore pearl earrings (the Bahrain pearl-and-diamond ones she consistently borrows) and a poppy crafted by Izzy Ager of Lock & Co. I also think Kate’s hat is new? The hat is doing the most to obscure the fact that Kate’s eyebrows look insane, like she drew them on with a Sharpie.

Below, I’m including more photos from the Remembrance Sunday wreath-laying at the Cenotaph. Prince William actually turned up to the Cenotaph after skipping the Festival of Remembrance the night before. William looked pretty grim about it too – honestly, in nearly every photo I saw of him, he looked absolutely disgusted. What a weird energy to bring to Remembrance Sunday? Of course, Kate and Camilla had a weird energy on the balcony too – they were gossiping and giggling and there’s a really weird “wiglets at dawn” photo where they’re facing each other. Sophie (the Duchess of Edinburgh) was also on a balcony, and I assume Prince Edward was on the ground with the other men.
