‘Ghosts’ Thanksgiving Episode Welcomes Ben Feldman Back to Woodstone in New Season 5 Photos

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Ghosts may have just welcomed back Trevor’s (Asher Grodman) daughter, Abby (Gideon Adlon), but the show is set to bring back another familiar face for its Thanksgiving-timed installment, “Planes, Shanes and Automobiles,” featuring Ben Feldman‘s Kyle.

As viewers will recall, Kyle was introduced in Season 4 as another living with the ability to see spirits, like Sam (Rose McIver). Fans may recall that he attempted to hit on Sam, but that didn’t work out too well. In that case, why is Kyle back? As the episode’s title hints, there will be a Planes, Trains and Automobiles angle to the storyline, but that’s not exactly where Kyle comes into play; instead, that’s Sam and Pete (Richie Moriarty).

The logline for the installment teases, “Unsatisfied with Jay’s (Utkarsh Ambudkar) ability to tend to their needs while Sam is away, the ghosts bring in a better babysitter, Kyle.” The logline goes on to reveal, “Sam and Pete get on each other’s nerves during a book tour road trip, and things reach a breaking point when an airline strike threatens their ability to get home in time for Thanksgiving.”

The quandary that Sam and Pete will face is certainly one that many holiday travelers can relate to, but as annoyed as they may get with one another, we’re sure they’ll bring laughs to viewers at home. And although Sam and Pete may be on the road, it appears most of the spirits of Woodstone will be staying put (as they can’t cross the ghost boundary). As seen in all-new images below, Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones), Sasappis (Román Zaragoza), Thorfinn (Devan Chandler Long), and Trevor are all on board for whatever Kyle has in store.

Check out the images below, and stay tuned for more on Ghosts in the weeks ahead as Season 5 continues on CBS.

Ben Stiller says nepo-baby label is a “selling point”

by jummy84 October 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Ben Stiller has shared his views on the nepo-baby discourse, explaining that he sees why people who’ve grown up with parents in showbiz might follow in their footsteps.

  • READ MORE: Severance season two review: mind-bending workplace sci-fi is the smartest thing on TV

The former Severance director was discussing his own status after he paid tribute to his parents, the comedians and actors Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, in the documentary Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost, released on Apple TV on Friday (October 24).

It comes at the same time as fellow actor Stellan Skarsgård hit out at the nepo-baby label himself, explaining that his teenage son Kolbjörn is affected by the label.

On SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Stiller said that he understands the arguments “about access” but sees it as a “selling point” that nepo-babies have grown up familiar with the industry.

“I think it’s kinda like that Brat Pack thing, right? New York Magazine, they coined a phrase, and then it just became a thing,” he said of the nepo-baby label, which was popularised by the magazine in 2022.

“But it’s always been what it is, in humanity and life,” he said. “It’s like, you buy a violin, a Stradivarius or whatever, it’s been in the family for hundreds of years. That’s a selling point.”

He added: “But I also understand there are other arguments to be made about access and all those things. My feeling is … if it’s in your blood, if it’s your passion and you grew up around it — for me, I think growing up around it, talking about all these things that I saw with my parents, you, actually as a kid, see the dark underside of it, the stress, the effects it has on relationships. You see that up close as a kid, and then you still wanna go into it.”

He did admit that he got his first job, in the 1986 off-Broadway revival of House Of Blue Leaves after he got an audition “as a favour” for Meara, after he “couldn’t get in ‘cause the casting director didn’t wanna see me.

“But I felt like, doing that audition, I knew that I had done what I needed to get the part,” he added. “If you have the passion, you need to do it. You need to go for it.”

Stiller himself has two children with his wife, actress Christine Taylor. They have a daughter, Ella, and a son, Quinn. Both have followed their parents into the world of acting, with Ella starring in the off-Broadway play Dilaria earlier this year and them both having small roles in Happy Gilmore 2 alongside their father.

Also in the Stiller & Meara documentary, Quinn told his dad that he felt he sometimes put being a father last, explaining: “You have all these hats that you’re trying to balance, you know, being a director, an actor, you know, a producer, a writer, but also, just like a father, right? And sometimes I felt that that would come, you know, last to these other things.”

During a Q&A at the New York Film Festival premiere of the film earlier this month, Stiller said of the moment: “As a filmmaker, I’m like, ‘Oh this is a good moment for the movie,’ you know. As a person I’m like, ‘That sucks.’ ”

Also earlier this month, meanwhile, Stiller described making comedy as being “more challenging” in the current political climate. He told Radio Times, “We live in a world where taking chances with comedy is more challenging. You’re seeing that front and centre in our country … But I think it’s important that comedians keep doing what they’re doing, speaking truth to power and being free to say what they want. That’s the most important thing.”

Oscar Winners Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers Talk ‘The Eyes of Ghana’

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Their most creative collaboration, 2023’s “The Last Repair Shop,” led director Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers to a Best Documentary Short Oscar win the next year. But it wasn’t a given Bowers would compose the score for Proudfoot’s feature debut, “The Eyes of Ghana.”

“Because it’s a lot of work, right? It’s like, ‘OK, it’s six months of my life,’” Proudfoot told IndieWire during an interview at the 2025 Middleburg Film Festival. “When you decide, ‘OK, this project feels like it’s part of my body of work,’ it’s a big decision, one that I take seriously.”

Though he has mostly worked as a film and TV composer on projects like “Green Book,” “Bridgerton,” and Original Score nominee “The Wild Robot,” Bowers’ work with Proudfoot also includes the Oscar-nominated short “A Concerto Is a Conversation” as co-director. But joining him on this newer, longer, global venture has the composer excited “just be a part of what was already being created.”

“The Eyes of Ghana” is seen through the eyes of Chris Hesse, a Ghanaian filmmaker who documented the rise of President Kwame Nkrumah, known as the man who liberated the African continent. Furthermore, when colonizers attempted to burn all evidence of Nkrumah’s time as a revolutionary leader, Hesse snuck his reels out of Ghana, and into a London vault, where the footage has spent decades inside, waiting to be digitized.

As someone who grew up in Nova Scotia, Proudfoot was completely unaware of most of this history. While in Ghana during the COVID-19 pandemic, shooting a film for UNICEF, “the whole van of us, the crew, we’re driving down this main thoroughfare, and I saw this unusually shaped building and a statue of a man pointing. And I said, ‘What’s that?’ They said, ‘Oh, that’s the mausoleum for Kwame Nkrumah.’ And I said, ‘Who’s Kwame Nkrumah?’ Every Ghanaian in the vehicle turned around and looked at me like ‘What the hell?,” said the director. “We know Gandhi, we know Martin Luther King Jr., we know all these figures from history who are responsible for leading a movement that changed the course of a continent or hundreds of millions of people. But Kwame Nkrumah, I opened the file folder of my mind, and there’s nothing there.”

Naturally curious, Proudfoot inquired whether he could speak to anyone who knew the politician, and his crew excitedly pointed him toward Hesse, a now-nonagenarian who worked as Nkrumah’s personal cinematographer, shooting everything on 16mm and 35mm. Though they were 60 years and an ocean apart, Proudfoot and Hesse became fast friends united in the idea of getting the word out there to maintain this treasure trove of footage. “That’s my mission in life,” Hesse told the director.

Nkrumah was crucial in jumpstarting the Ghanaian film industry, building a studio to produce work that conveys an Africa that defies the expectations promoted by colonizers. “If I say, ‘Oh, here’s a documentary set in Africa,’ you immediately have certain expectations of what that might be, based on documentaries you’ve seen in the past or world hunger infomercials on the TV or whatever. Which is not a broad understanding of what’s going on, which was Kwame Nkrumah’s whole point in the first place,” said Proudfoot.

Through the subject of his film, the director shows how an important part of Ghana’s modern history is entwined with a love of cinema. “We’re making a film not about Kwame Nkrumah, not about Ghana, we’re making a film about Chris Hesse and his experience and how he views it. And Chris Hesse is an extraordinary film artist, a cinematographer,” said Proudfoot. “So if you’re making a film about a filmmaker, you need to bring the best of everything to the table.” The director boasted how “huge swaths of the movie are shot in IMAX 70mm,” particularly in the film’s emotional conclusion, which was shot on 5-perf, 65mm celluloid on an IMAX camera. “That literal camera that we used, that came to Ghana, came from the set of ‘Sinners.’ Same camera.”

Like Proudfoot, Bowers had not heard of Nkrumah, nor had he been to Ghana. Bower said, “I’ve always just been really curious about any sort of scoring of an African project.” Upon formally accepting the offer to once again work with his friend Proudfoot, Bowers said, “I’m aware of the deep history and tradition with music, and so that was my first bit of excitement as a composer, trying to figure out how to incorporate some of that into the score.”

The gyil, the atenteben, and the talking drum were the three key instruments that helped him achieve a more African sound. “I would ask about the gyil, which is a mallet instrument, and was asking, ‘What key does that play in typically?’ So if I write, I can write in that key. And the musician I was speaking with was like, ‘Well, actually that’s usually tuned to whomever the singer is.’ And so that made me inspired to tune themes to each of the characters’ speaking voices and [spend] time transcribing the way they spoke, to see what key range did they speak in.” For instance, the charismatic Hesse was in the key of F Mixolydian.

To play the atenteben, a bamboo flute, Bowers recruited Dela Botri based on impressive videos of the Ghanaian musician performing. “You could watch him playing jazz riffs and all this stuff. So we were like, ‘OK, we’ve got to get that guy,’” said the composer. Bowers was hesitant to use the talking drum after the instrument’s prominence in Ludwig Göransson’s Oscar-winning “Black Panther” score, but ultimately, “it’s such a huge part of Ghanaian history that it felt like I can’t not put that in there. And also, it felt weird that ‘Black Panther’ for some reason would make it so that I can’t use an instrument when I’m writing a score for an African film.”

Bowers did, however, come to a point where inspiration began getting in the way of execution. “My first pass of writing some of the cues, taking all this information, again, I spent a month studying this stuff, I tried writing a score from a Ghanaian perspective. And it was something that wasn’t quite fitting with the film,” said the composer. “The more Ben and I talked about it, the more I realized it was my own fear of not representing the country well, and music well in that way… This movie is about the power of and the love for cinema, and so [Ben] really encouraged me and helped me embrace just taking everything I know about film music, and I’ve learned now about Ghanaian music, and just try to make this as great as possible.”

He concluded, “I’m not Ghanaian. It actually would be more disrespectful for me to try to pretend like I could write this Ghanaian score. But more so, just try to take as much information as I can and be influenced and informed by that and write music from my heart at that point.”

Producer Moses Bwayo (and co-director of recent Best Documentary Feature nominee “Bobi Wine: The People’s President”) helped convince the prolific, Oscar-winning shorts director Proudfoot to make this his feature directorial debut.

“My philosophy is that it is our duty as filmmakers not to waste anybody’s time. And sometimes when you make a movie, the idea is that people want to escape. Certainly, I do. When I turn on a movie before I go to bed or on a Saturday afternoon or whatever, I want to go into a world for a few hours. I’m happy that it’s long,” he said. “But oftentimes with documentaries … you want to understand, you want to learn something, you want to solve the mystery, you want to meet these people, you want to come out enlightened, informed, inspired. And so if that’s the reason why you’re watching the movie — which is different, there’s a different kind of intention — you don’t want to spend more time than you need to. A lot of documentaries, especially over the last 10 years, have been designed to suck up as much of your time as possible. That’s why I’ve been so interested in short films, because it’s the opposite.”

He added, “With this film, even though it’s in the category of a feature-length documentary, it’s a lot packed into 89 minutes. As my career has gone on, what I’m committed to less so is format, of short form or feature film, and more just elegance and a richness. It couldn’t have been any shorter. And that the audience feels like, ‘Wow, I took in a lot, I went from knowing nothing about this to knowing a lot, caring a lot,’ that interests me.”

Ultimately, “The Eyes of Ghana” stealthily circles back to the kind of format Proudfoot is known for, making reference to producer and film subject Anita Afonu’s project “Perished Diamonds,” which covers the history of Ghanaian cinema in 40 minutes, plus all of Hesse’s work. “Those reels that are in the archive, they’re mainly short documentaries. So at the end, it might be a feature documentary, but it’s about an archive of short documentaries, so I can’t escape it,” said the director.

This resurfacing of Hesse’s footage is “the opposite of what’s happening in America and a lot of the world, which is history being erased, not being able to talk about a war on information. And this is an opening and a blooming of new history, which I think is very exciting,” said Proudfoot. “We’re very proud to be a part of that and drawing attention to that, not just in Ghana, but really across all Africa. Chris traveled all across the continent telling stories in all kinds of countries, because Kwame Nkrumah would lend out his film unit to all these other liberation movements. So it’s continent-wide, really.”

“The Eyes of Ghana” is the first independent feature produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company Higher Ground, and has yet to find a distributor, but Proudfoot’s urgency lies more with encouraging the digitization of Hesse’s archive than rushing into a deal to release the film in theaters. “It’s just about remembering why we made this movie and continuing to pound the pavement and find people who get it, who understand it, and who believe this is an important story that must be told,” he said. “These kinds of stories, often African narratives, they just get left off. ‘It’s not relevant, it’s not important.’ It is important.”

Proudfoot added, “Part of what we’re doing with the film is helping Chris in his mission to reframe this archive, not as a nice-to-have, but as an essential piece of history.”

To Proudfoot, “The highest and best use of documentary is to get people to pay attention, and let’s face it, do something about it. Not just say, ‘That’s a nice documentary.’ [claps] ‘Here’s an award,’ or ‘We think you’re great.’ So what? This archive, if we don’t pay attention, it’s going to be gone in 15 years,” he said. “That’s what happens to cinema, that’s what happens to celluloid. So that’s our hope, whether it’s the distributor or whether it’s finding somebody who really cares about this, who has a connection to it, it must make a difference in the world. Entertainment, for me, it’s not enough. I think it must help solve that problem.”

“The Eyes of Ghana” world-premiered at TIFF before playing Middleburg. It is currently seeking a U.S. distributor.

Ben Stiller on Parenting His, Christine Taylor’s Kids

by jummy84 October 24, 2025

Ben Stiller is owning up to his shortfalls.

As the Zoolander alum put together his new documentary, Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost about his parents Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, he admitted how he and wife Christine Taylor are still figuring out the proper way to parent their kids Ella Stiller, 23, and Quinlin Stiller, 20.

“Having kids who are now actors also, and experiencing that, that became part of the movie in terms of talking to them about how cyclically, generationally these things get handed down,” Ben explained during an appearance on The View Oct. 23. “You want to do better than your parents.”

Indeed, the Severance creator noted that he oscillates between making “better” or “worse” choices than his late parents. As he put it, “It’s that struggle we all go through.”

“Every family you have to deal with whatever it is,” Ben explained. “Parents have to go out and work and that time that you don’t spend with your kids and that struggle.”

Ben admitted that his parents never quite mastered the work-life balance, adding,  “That’s something that they feel all the time.”

Ben Simmons’ Sister Olivia Mocks Kendall Jenner In Viral TikTok | Glamsham.com

Olivia Simmons, sister of NBA star Ben Simmons, recently shared a snarky TikTok video in which she took aim at his former girlfriend, model Kendall Jenner. In the clip, Olivia recalls a game night where they played Cards Against Humanity and Jenner announced she’d bake cookies, but according to Olivia, it didn’t go well. She mocked Jenner for attempting to cut ready-made dough unevenly and referenced a past viral moment in which Jenner awkwardly sliced a cucumber.

“I have never seen so many uneven cookies,” Olivia says in the video. “You rich b****. If you don’t call your chef to come and cook these cookies for you?” She went on to label the Kardashian-Jenner family as “weird b****es.”

The video has stirred a mixed reaction online. Some viewers found it entertaining, but many criticized Olivia for what they viewed as an unnecessary and mean-spirited dig at Jenner over something trivial. One commenter wrote: “This is so weird of you” and another added: “Bullying is so normalized.”

Neither Kendall Jenner nor Ben Simmons publicly responded to the post yet. The relationship between Kendall and Ben was short-lived, dating from 2018 to 2019, and both have moved on in their careers and personal lives.

Regardless of intent, Olivia’s TikTok has reignited interest in the Jenner-Simmons past and raised questions about how feuds between celebrity families are shared and perceived in the social-media age.

Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor ‘had a coming together’ amid lockdown

Ben Stiller believes lockdown helped to save his marriage.

Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor reconciled amid lockdown

The 59-year-old comedian and actress Christine Taylor separated in 2017 – but the couple managed to reunite amid the COVID-19 lockdown.

Ben – who has Ella, 23, and Quin, 20, with Christine – says in the documentary Stiller and Meara: Nothing Is Lost: “All of a sudden we were together in the house and during that time I started to make the movie, too. So there was sort of this coming together. Us talking about what we were going through, our issues, and looking at what my parents had been through, too, in a way I hadn’t looked at it before.”

Ben was ultimately determined that his marriage wouldn’t go the same way as his parents’ marriage had gone.

He recalled thinking: “I don’t want to become my parents.”

Ben moved back into the family home in 2020 so he could spend time with his children amid the COIVD-19 lockdowns.

And the comedy star previously admitted that the situation later “evolved” between him and Christine.

He said: “Then, over the course of time, it evolved. We were separated and got back together and we’re happy about that.

“It’s been really wonderful for all of us. Unexpected, and one of the things that came out of the pandemic.”

Ben and Christine now have a “respect” for their similarities and differences, and they’re more “accepting” of each other than ever before.

The movie star – who married Christine in 2000 – explained: “I think we have a respect for the ways that we’re similar and the ways we’re different.

“And I think accepting that, you can really appreciate someone more because you’re not trying to get them to change for you.

“Once you accept that, you save a lot of energy. ‘This is something that works for me; this is something that doesn’t work for me.’

“If you have that trust level with your partner, you know that me saying ‘I don’t like doing that thing,’ is not me saying ‘I don’t like you.'”

Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck’s Relationship Status: Are They Together Again? | Glamsham.com

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck sparked fresh rumors of a rekindled romance after they were seen warmly greeting each other on the red carpet at the New York City premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman on October 6. Their friendly exchange led fans to speculate about a possible reunion, especially given their long and storied relationship history.

However, a source close to Lopez told People that there is no romantic reunion on the horizon. “Jennifer’s doing well. She’s focused on things that make her happy — family and work,” the insider shared. While Lopez and Affleck remain supportive of each other, the source clarified, “She always enjoyed working with Ben; this hasn’t changed. There’s no romantic reunion with Ben.”

Lopez and Affleck originally met in the early 2000s while filming Gigli. They began dating shortly after, got engaged in 2002, but ultimately called off their wedding in 2004. Each went on to build separate families — Lopez married Marc Anthony and had twins, Emme and Max, while Affleck married Jennifer Garner and shares three children with her.

Nearly two decades after their split, Lopez and Affleck reunited and married in July 2022 in an intimate Las Vegas ceremony. However, their rekindled romance ended in 2024 when Lopez filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

Despite their split, the pair remain on good terms. At the premiere, Lopez even acknowledged Affleck’s support, saying, “Thank you, Ben. This movie wouldn’t have been made without Ben and without Artist Equity.”

Kiss of the Spider Woman, directed by Bill Condon and co-produced by Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artist Equity, premiered on October 10. The film stars Lopez alongside Diego Luna, Tonatiuh, Tony Dovolani, and others.

“What happened, Washington? All those bullet holes in your jacket…” The religious movie distributor called Angel Studios has revealed their first look teaser trailer for Young Washington, a traditionalist look back at the origin story of “America’s first leader.” The story of America’s first president – George Washington. From filmmaker Jon Erwin (director of Jesus Revolution, I Can Only Imagine, House of David) comes a powerful new historical epic based on the true story that shaped a nation. Introducing William Franklyn-Miller as the young George and also starring Mary-Louise Parker as his mom Mary Washington, Kelsey Grammer as Lord Fairfax, Andy Serkis as Edward Braddock, Jonno Davies as James Mackay, and Ben Kingsley as Robert Dinwiddie. This film explores the courage, sacrifice, and destiny that forged a legendary leader – following George “fighting through intense battles in the French and Indian War and fending for himself in tense military meetings.” What will they leave out? Young Washington will open in theaters in July 2026 – just before Independence Day 2026, which will mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Of course they’re releasing it then. This looks like an epic history lesson, similar to The Patriot from 2000, but it’ll also be exceptionally pro-America in a very cringe way. Have at it.

Here’s the first teaser trailer for Jon Erwin’s movie Young Washington, direct from Angel’s YouTube:

Young Washington Teaser Trailer

Young Washington Teaser Trailer

“Before he led a revolution, he survived one.” The origin story of America’s first leader… The film traces the early life of America’s first president and will debut in theaters nationwide during Independence Day Weekend 2026, honoring the nation’s 250th year since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. “It captures the tension, courage, and humanity of a leader whose formative story has rarely been told on screen.” Young Washington is directed by faith-based filmmaker Jon Erwin, director of the films October Baby, Fully Alive, Woodlawn, I Can Only Imagine, I Still Believe, American Underdog, The Jesus Music, Jesus Revolution, and the “House of David” series previously. The screenplay is written by Jon Erwin, Tom Provost, Diederik van Hoogstraten. It’s produced by Adam Abel, Benton Crane, Chip Diggins, Jon Erwin, Kristopher Kimlin, Edmund Sampson, Tyler Zacharia. Angel Studios will debut Erwin’s Young Washington movie in theaters nationwide starting on July 3rd, 2026 next summer. Anyone want to actually watch it?

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck in ‘really good place’

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

12 October 2025

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are reportedly in a “really good place”.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s divorce was finalised in January this year

The former couple – who were originally engaged from 2002 to 2004 before they split, reunited in 2021, got married in 2022, broke-up again in 2024, and then had their divorced finalised in January this year – appeared friendly with each other at the New York premiere of their new musical-thriller film Kiss of the Spider Woman on October 6, but it has been claimed a rekindled romance is not an option for them.

Speaking of the 56-year-old singer – who filed for divorce from Ben in 2024, citing irreconcilable differences – and the 53-year-old actor, a source told People: “Jennifer’s doing well. She’s focused on things that make her happy – family and work.

“She always enjoyed working with Ben, this hasn’t changed. There’s no romantic reunion with Ben.

“They’re in a really good place. They continue to support each other. They’re both proud of what they accomplished together.”

The insider’s claims come days after another source said that Jennifer and Ben have found a new balance in their relationship.

The source told Page Six: “They like each other so much more when they’re not married to each other.

“They each have roles to play with each other – she’s the glamorous, gorgeous diva superstar on a pedestal, he’s the roguish cad who keeps her at a distance to maintain sexual tension.

“As long as they are each playing their parts, they’re perfect. The minute they try to be anything more than that – especially something as pedestrian as husband and wife – it’s so doomed.”

Kiss of the Spider Woman was produced by Ben through his production company Artists Equity.

It stars Jennifer in the lead role as Ingrid Luna, also known as Aurora or The Spider Woman.

According to IMDb, the film’s synopsis reads: “Valentín, a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina, convicted for public indecency.

“An unlikely bond forms as Molina recounts a Hollywood musical plot starring Ingrid Luna.”

And Ben gushed over his ex-wife’s “amazing” performance in the movie.

He told Extra at the premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman: “She’s amazing in the movie. I just can’t wait for you, the audience, to see the movie. I’m as proud of this movie as any that I’ve ever been involved with. I’m really excited to be here tonight.”

“Early on in Jennifer’s involvement in this … she just was going to give it her all, and she did. She worked enormously hard.

“You get to see all of her many gifts. She’s somebody that grew up watching classic musicals.”

And Jennifer gave Ben the credit for making the movie happen.

Speaking to Today co-host Craig Melvin, 46, during an interview on the show, she said: “If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made … and I will always give him that credit.”

Messages of love and admiration filled social media following the death of acclaimed actress Diane Keaton, who passed away on Saturday, October 11, at the age of 79.

Best known for her Oscar-winning role in 1977’s Annie Hall and her portrayal of Kay Adams-Corleone in 1972’s The Godfather, Keaton’s passing came as a shock to fans and colleagues alike, many of whom shared tributes honoring her life and career.

Across social media, fans and friends paid tribute to Keaton, celebrating not only her immense talent and warmth but also sharing bits of lore, from her unexpected knack for directing music videos to charming stories of school pick-ups. These memories paint a portrait of a woman who lived with humor, creativity, and a genuine connection to the people around her.

Actress, singer, and costar from The First Wives Club Bette Midler wrote a funny and touching tribute to the actress on Threads: “The brilliant, beautiful, extraordinary Diane Keaton has died. I cannot tell you how unbearably sad this makes me. She was hilarious, and completely without guile, or any of the competitiveness one would have expected from such a star. What you saw was who she was…oh, la, lala!”

Her other First Wives Club costar Goldie Hawn also paid tribute to Keaton in a post on Instagram that read: “Diane, we aren’t ready to lose you. You’ve left us with a trail of fairy dust, filled with particles of light and memories beyond imagination. How do we say goodbye? What words can come to mind when your heart is broken? You never liked praise, so humble, but now you can’t tell me to “shut up” honey. There was, and will be, no one like you.”

Hawn’s daughter Kate Hudson wrote her own tribute with the simple, “We love you so much, Diane,” and posted a clip of Keaton singing “You Don’t Own Me” from the film with her mother and Midler.

“Rest in peace, Diane Keaton. Your talent, courage, and authenticity were a true inspiration. ❤️,” wrote Kerry Washington.

Actor and director Henry Winkler wrote on X: “Diane was a really good friend of ours. We laughed a lot. What an extraordinarily talented woman. Diane, you will be so missed on the Earth. Rest sweetly as sweet as you have been to everyone you have met. Love, Henry and Stacey.”

Actor, director, and producer Ben Stiller posted: “Diane Keaton. One of the greatest film actors ever. An icon of style, humor and comedy. Brilliant. What a person.”

Actress Octavia Spencer posted on Instagram: “Today we lost a true original. @diane_keaton wasn’t just an actress: she was a force. a woman who showed us that being yourself is the most powerful thing you can be. From Annie Hall to Something’s Gotta Give, she made every role unforgettable. But beyond the screen, she brought joy, laughter, and style that was all her own. Thank you, Diane, for reminding us that authenticity never goes out of fashion.”

“Diane Keaton was a muse for me. In every way. Her humor, wit, charm, fashion, and laugh. She will be so missed,” posted Pink on Instagram.

Singer Nancy Sinatra posted: “Diane Keaton has left us and I can’t tell you how profoundly sad that makes me,” she wrote. “I adored her — idolized her. She was a very special person and an incredibly gifted actor who made each of her roles unforgettable. Her light will continue to shine through the art she leaves behind. Godspeed, Diane. My heart goes out to her family and to each of us grieving this heartbreaking loss.”

Actress and activist Holly Robinson Peete wrote: “Some people you just can’t imagine not being on this earth. Diane Keaton was one of those people. Her energy was so palpable and infectious! Our kids went to elementary school together, and she showed up to carpool dressed exactly like she does in all these iconic photos – While I was in sweats and a baseball cap, Diane was impeccable …every single day! A legendary actress, spectacular mother, and true fashion icon who lived and aged with such grace. Rest in peace — you were so loved.”

“I can’t! Diane Keaton was such a talent and a BIG part of my career. She directed two videos of mine: ‘Heaven Is A Place on Earth’ and the video for ‘I Get Weak.’ She was kind and eccentric, and I was blessed to know her. RIP Diane, you will be missed,” wrote singer and Go-Gos frontwoman Belinda Carlisle.

Comedian Whitney Cummings wrote on Instagram: “She is who showed me women could be funny and weird and awkward and neurotic and human and wear blazers and laugh at the wrong times and have frizzy hair and not have to dress for dudes. I’d say Diane Keaton is perfect, but she changed my life by saying, “What is perfection anyway? It’s the death of creativity,” so instead I’ll say she’s my comedy hero.”

“Diane Keaton is gone, and though I only knew her through the light she gave on screen, I’ll miss that light deeply,” wrote fashion designer and reality TV personality Zac Posen on Instagram.
